The sales people on the other hand were a bit pushy (they operate separately based on their website). The frames selection is huge and all glasses are nice and of course luxury brand. With that being said prices go up to 599 for frames, however, they normally run a special of 50% off which you still pay a hefty price (compared to online prices). This last visit I strictly went for exam only, however, the sales guy who assisted me was unhelpful. He did not want to provide my pd and just hand wrote my prescription really messy. I wanted to take a photo of the actual prescription print out as it was clear. The sales guy stated I had no right to take a photo of my own prescription. Although I paid for it, so it didn't make any sense. My guess is that they wanted me to purchase frames there and not go else where. Making my prescription difficult to understand as it was very ilegible. Not coming back due to the bad experience.

I won't name names, but the eyewear ordering process has been a complete disaster. I ordered new lenses for my existing frames, and here's what happened: 1. The lenses didn't fit my frames, even though I left them there. I waited two weeks for a reorder. 2. The reordered lenses arrived, but they were not the transitions I had requested. Another reorder, another two-week wait. 3. When the lenses finally arrived, they had been shaved down too much and didn't fit properly--yet another reorder and another two-week wait. To make matters worse, I later found out they had actually received the lenses on March 10th, but no one informed me. It was only when I followed up on March 19th that they finally located them. Throughout this ordeal, there were no updates or follow-ups. After this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere--I've heard great things about Costco.

And I'm only taking the drastic step of writing such a negative review because I've had problems with this store going back two years and three sets of glasses. I also don't want to impact the guys at the front, who have been absolute Princes in helping me through the issues. I have a running joke with Mattie and James of Eyes Over DFW: They see me coming into their various offices so often we joke that I'm stalking them everywhere they go. FIRST ISSUE: Two years ago I ordered two pairs of glasses, one for up-close computer work and one for driving. They came back with the lenses switched, which I only discovered once I was driving on the notoriously dangerous highways of DFW and realized I couldn't read the road signs. James reordered them without complaint, even allowing me to pick out replacement frames in the Dallas office that were more expensive than my insurance allowance. SECOND ISSUE: More recently, because I was about to move from Dallas to Fort Worth temporarily, I asked that my glasses be delivered to the TSO store on Camp Bowie, about a mile from my rental instead of the 40 miles I'd have to drive back to Dallas to pick them up. But TSO overlooked that request and sent them back to Dallas, requiring me to wait another week for glasses I needed to drive safely. THIRD ISSUE: Yesterday I was standing at the sink and heard a tiny "tink" sound and one of the lenses dropped out of my frames. I'd barely had them a week, only cleaned them 2 or 3 times, and because I've been wearing glasses for more than 60 years, know how to handle delicate eyeglasses. I've reported this all and now wait hopefully to see if this latest problem will be resolved.

As a proud US Air Force Veteran, I wanted to share my positive experiences through this 5-STAR feedback. I came across TSO - Fort Worth after my initial referral could not see me for several weeks. I Googled TSO locations close to JRB NAS Fort Worth, which is when I discovered this location. After reading many 5-STAR reviews, I decided to try TSO - Dr. Johnson, and it was a great decision. Firstly, Dr. Johnson agreed to see me the same day and perform my annual eye exam while also addressing my eye issue. I was given a convenient appointment, allowing me to complete all required documentation and insurance info online. When I arrived at this well-maintained, modern office, I was greeted with a big smile and a Texas welcome by Reyna, TSO's newest team member. Jade, who has been with TSO for a while, also greeted me. They quickly located my appointment and verified my info. There was a minor issue with my insurance, and Reyna then sought the assistance of the Office Manager, Jenny. Jenny came out to the front desk, introduced herself, and promptly resolved the minor issue with my insurance. Her skill in dealing with insurance companies and her ability to bypass long wait times was impressive. Within a concise while, Jenny escorted me to the private rooms to receive my annual eye exam and service from Dr. Johnson. Prior to Dr. Johnson's intervention, Daniela then proceeded with my initial vision exams. This was another smooth process, and Daniela, like her co-workers, provided great service, coupled with wonderful hospitality. Her technical expertise with the high-tech vision equipment was also impressive. Dr. Johnson then provided a thorough review and was meticulous in his actions and vision services. The first thing he did after his greeting to me was to thank me for my military service. He also provided detailed explanations and took the time to discuss my prior history, although it was with other eye physicians. He never rushed, nor did he provide unnecessary services. His extensive knowledge and experience impressed me, culminating in an outstanding first visit. I returned a few days later for a follow-on appointment and again received superb service from Dr. Johnson, Reyna, Jade, Daniela, and Jenny, but I also interacted with Macy and Michelle. Once again, I was warmly greeted and had a brief wait time, followed by outstanding follow-up service. This TSO location is now my preferred eye care location, and my only regret is not discovering this excellent eye care facility earlier. Throughout my visits, I observed the individual and caring service each TSO staff rendered to every customer, led by Dr. Johnson's medical expertise. My son has sensory issue but they work slowly with him. The doctor was very involved, even when we came to pick up his glasses. And all of the staff is super friendly & helpful. If I had not already got my eye exam this year I would make Griffin Eye Care my eye doctor.

UPDATE: I am not…read moresure if this replaced my January 10th post. I hope not...it was regarding my initial visit, ordering glasses, and contacts. Walked out the door paying $1300 and then called the next day for more money on a "Readers Package deal (frame and lenses) of $99", By their mistake on the frame they wanted an additional $139 for the difference of the frame. Then came back that I paid $99 for the lenses and $139 for the frames. The Doctor personally saw how much I was spending on glasses and I am sure saw how I opted to do every available test she offered and offered the $99 package for the readers. My 2 pairs of glasses and contacts came in. It was a quick, how can you see (looking at my phone screen and standing and reading off a wall chart). He commented regarding the "trial pair" of contacts, to give them a few days of "real world" wear and then let him know, and he would order the years supply that I paid $206 for. The next day when I was working on my computer, I was having a hard time with my "bifocal glasses", I made the mistake of getting another frame that was too big and rounded. I was having to tip my head back to see out the bottom portion of the lens to see my monitor. Last year, I saw my brother's optometrist and he was the first one EVER to point out that I needed a smaller rectangular shape frame and that would keep me from having to tilt my head back. It was after hours when I was picking frames and grabbed a purple one as it was my favorite color. They have no exchange policy like Walmart and other places. (So, they will most likely get donated at Walmart for charity and I will go there or Target for new glasses). I put in my contacts and those crazy expensive "readers"...that will go down as my most insane impulse buy!!! It is completely blurry. I go home and try my previous Walgreens 1.50 Readers and they are blurry too!. Another wasted $240!!! I emailed about exchanging the lenses in them, since I spent so much on the frame and it has barely been a couple weeks! We are back to no response. The only response was when I asked for a refund on the 12 months of contacts that I pre-paid for. I was told I only paid $130 after my vision ins discount and I would not find them anywhere else for that price. I came back and looked at the receipt. I did get the discount but, the cost was $336, minus discount made them $206! The final cost was not the $130 he threw out there. Then a few hours later I am getting an email and text thanking me for purchasing 12 months of contacts. So much for "real world" time and letting them know, and then they would order! Wow!!!! So, here I sit with two pairs glasses I cannot see out of. I can see out of the contacts and I will head to walgreens and try other strengths of readers for now. I am going to look up the manufacturer of the rectangular "readers" that I love and spent the outrageous amount on. I am going to reach out to them and see if I can send direct to them and pay for new lenses or if they can refer me to a decent customer service based Optometrist. The regular bifocals will go to the donate box and I guess the contacts are on their way. I will end on this note. Dr. Griffin is amazing!! Very knowledgeable and professional. Very thorough in tests options and explaining each one's results etc. I would do your exam, tests, see her, pay and then run for the door as fast as you can!!! It was a late afternoon appointment and I had dealt with blurry vision for weeks until my new FSA funds were available, that is why I let the sticker shock go past me and her $99 off on the readers with frames and blu block lenses. (Again, reminder from prior post. They went back on their word of that offer). Just not professional customer service in my opinion. I am supposed to go back and see her for my dry eye treatment but, I will probably go back to my brother's guy. He may be "out of network" but, I still walked out of his visit for a fraction of this one. They will NEVER see me again.
