I had some concerns before I left for the trip reading reviews of swarms of bees. I reached out to them and the responded quickly that the worse was behind them. When we arrived check in was quick and we headed to our site. The camping spots are all very large. The free firewood is awesome, and the pool looked inviting. The wasps only became a nuisance when cooking meat as they are carnivores. But hey had traps everywhere trying to minimize the issue. The cabins onsite looked very nice and hey have large community cook areas available to use. I would recommend a visit. Close to town easy to find and you can use the free paddle boats or canoe to get out into the main lake. Plus lots of local beer selections in their small store. read more

The new owner is making great strides in getting this gem of a campground up to the high standards he and his super friendly staff have set for themselves. Free showers with great hot water. Excellent kamper kitchen saved us on the rainy nights and was a great way to interact with the other campers. Free firewood and great fire pits at each site. There is a bunch of hiking trails in the state forest next door, and a trail head right in the camp ground. They also have paddle boats and kayaks for use. Great location: close enough to Coeur d'Alene to be convenient but far enough from the freeway to be quiet. read more

This is the best camp site I have ever been to!!! We have been on a road trip for the last two weeks and came upon this place on iOverlander. And what a treat! They have really nice hot showers, bathrooms, a pool, complementary fire wood, charging station, and even canoes with life jackets! The people at the front desk were so polite as well. My boyfriend lost his credit card when we came in and they told us that we can pay the next day no problem! Oh, I almost forgot they also have a game area including cornhole, darts, and checkers! Recently reopenined under new ownership. There staff was very friendly and helpfull. They supplied firewood for our campsite and there were paddleboats and a canoe available for use. We took the canoe out and had a good time. Rates were very reasonable compared to what we have paid at other locations. read more

As a kid I stayed on this lake at a different campground for over ten summers. This location used to be a KOA. Now. This place is better. I wanted to ensure my kids had the same experience as I did in Cd'L. They have a pool, free showers to include CLEAN bathrooms, free fire wood, canoe, paddle boats, full kitchen, and $4 laundry. This is a great place for the money. They also have spaces for RVs and campers. Def come here before anywhere else in and on the lake. read more

This was our 2nd time staying here. The bees were so bad this year in Coeur d Alene, however they had a huge bee problem here. I mean they were not good in town earthier but they def had a nest here they needed to address! My children and me had to run to the car and run to the camper during the day in hopes we wouldn't get stung. They were literally swarms of bees! Very scary. We had a back in site and when you went to open the door the other sites sewer was literally at our front door! They have no trees or anything in between sites. I thought if we wanted to sit outside and enjoy camping there's no way we could with someone's sewer line right there! The staff is very friendly and overall is a nice campground but I think we will visit another area next time. read more

My children and I just finished camping for several days at this site. Pros: It was a lovely setting with water access and paddle boats, most of the staff is helpful. Cons: Camp CDA advertises free WiFi but after several other campers and my family tried to access it for several days, it was not available even once. The "heated pool" wasnt even open for 1 day and then supposedly heated to 70 degrees but was freezing. When we went back later in the afternoon, it was closed. They don't have the chemicals figured out, so don't count on using it. When we mentioned that we were disappointed about not being able to use the pool during our stay.. we were told to go swim in the pond The lights in the bathroom were out all night and all day, apparently due to a breaker..? It was EXTREMELY loud. My children and I were kept up until after 1 am with partying, hollering neighbors. The "store" doesn't have basics like bug spray or sunscreen, so don't expect that. Overall, our experience had the potential to be amazing! We were there for a half a day before we were already recruiting friends and family to get a campsite and spend a couple days/weeks there every year. I wanted to organize group events there and family reunion campouts for our large family. BUT, by the end of our stay.. we reconsidered. I brought some of my concerns to the manager, Rhonda, and was told that since it's a 50 year old campground, things go wrong. She wasn't helpful as far as trying to make anything right. Awesome potential, but the reality is less than ideal. Too bad because we had high hopes! read more

Where to start - We had a blast getting to stay in one of the great cabins (no bathrooms but that was quite alright with us) This is what customer service for the outdoors is all about!!! Thanks to Ron, Kyle & Chris for making our family vacation THE BEST! They were very open to any of our needs - Free firewood delivered straight to your fire pit, free use of the paddle boats and canoe (yep we flipped it - that was a hoot). Very pet friendly and the stuff in their store were reasonable prices. My kids were able to ride their bikes and scooters in small areas, and also go swimming in the pool - We are so grateful for the memories and will definitely be back!!! read more

My two kids and I stayed in one of their 6 person cabins in August. The cabin was so cute. It had a table, and some shelves, but most importantly the cabin stayed extremely cool!! No AC, just naturally stayed cool. We never got hot or warm, it was so nice to come in to after being in the hot sun! The bathrooms were very clean and nice. Out side the bathrooms is a deep sink for getting drinking water or cleaning dishes. Plus there is an incredible undercover kitchen area that was never crowded, always available for use, with burners and sinks for cooking. I was concerned about bees, but we never saw one single bee the whole time we were there, so that problem must have been resolved. The pool was open, clean, and heated which we appreciated. We also had no problems connecting to wifi which was nice. Showers were hot, and the night was silent. No loud people to keep us awake. The camp ground is on the lake but it's not the swimming or boating portion of the lake. However if you take one of their canoe's (which is free to use) you can paddle your way under the freeway bridge to the real part of the lake where you can swim. Wear the life jacket though! We stayed on the camp ground side and paddled through the marsh mazes of cattails and lily pads and went as far as each turn would take us. My kids found it to be very adventurous. It's a beautiful setting and was really the highlight of our stay. Although there was only maybe 3 or 4 canoe's, there was always one available! I have saved the best info for last......drum roll......There is a little grocery mart!!!! Yes, where you check in and out has every item you could ever need for camping. From food and wine to can openers and ketchup! Plus they have free morning coffee and free coffee creamers! So if you forgot to bring something your good to go. I highly recommend staying here, and am already planning a return trip. read more

Camp Coeur d'Alene was such a sweet place to camp! It's just outside of the city itself, so quiet, but not too far away to go get supplies or engage in activities. The views are beautiful and our cabin was so cozy and stayed cool, even on a hot summer day. The hosts, Jim and Rhonda are just delightful and will do anything to make sure that you enjoy your stay. We were doing a 2-week road trip in the region, and this was by far our favorite spot! We loved it so much we stayed an extra day, and would have stayed longer if our scheduled allowed. The RV sites are all shaded and feel really secluded. We loved the amenities too--we had a great time hanging out at the pool and cooking in the shared outdoor kitchen (so cool!). We stayed active during the day--hiking trails and exploring the lake. Best of all, the folks who work here are so kind and attentive--everyone knew our dog's name within hours and we were able to pick up a few forgotten items (and cold beer!) at their store. This RV park website is very misleading. It states it is a "destination" but I think of it as a parking spot. Lake is not inviting for swimming, we never saw the paddle boats and there was one canoe. The pool is small and looks dirty - we did not use it. I think I could have had more space parking in the Walmart parking lot as the spaces were so close together. Not good if you want to sit out and enjoy nature as your view is the next RV and yours. Spaces did not have grass just gravel and there were trees around the perimeter and on the trails. Nice cook area so probably ok for those renting a cabin. read more

This campground is completely uninhabitable during the hornet/wasp season. There were traps everywhere that were overrun with hornets/wasps. I would estimate there were about 200 on our tent site alone. We tried to set up but the hornets/wasps kept landing on us and our camping equipment. I could not even get our picnic tablecloth unfolded without them landing on my hands. Within 5 minutes of arrival, one climbed into my shorts leg and bit me on my inside thigh. Despite the uninhabitable nature of our site, we were denied a refund. Other campers at the site were all inside trailers and walled easy ups to avoid the hornets/wasps. If you would be prepared to spend your camping trip inside then this may improve the situation somewhat, but it also did not look like much fun. If you have small children, pets, or any sort of wasp/hornet bite allergy (I have a mild allergy and my leg blew up like an itchy red balloon, not exactly fun on holiday), I'd avoid this place altogether. I've been camping all my life and am not squeamish about bugs, but I could not envision staying there a second longer. Will never return. read more

Lovely picturesque site with amenities so nice that it didn't really feel like camping - although after a long road trip I was glad for a hot shower and a clean bathroom. I got caught in the rain, so my reserved tent site next to the lake was flooded - at check in they very helpfully switched me to a spot higher up the hill. With the cabins, RVs, and proximity to the town it feels more like "glamping" than roughing it. I would definitely come back especially if the weather was nicer so I could enjoy the free boats they provide for the lake. read more

Steller campground! The guys that work there were ridiculously helpful which was good for us as first time rv users. The lots were spacious, the paddle boat rentals and firewood were free. The setting was super picturesque and quiet regardless of its proximity to the interstate, we saw large elk wading into the lagoon as the sun set. Awesome experience. Thanks guys. read more

My wife and I are in our mid fifties and stayed here with our tent trailer. We had a wonderful 5 days over 4th of July weekend. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My wife and I took a great couple of weeks just in back of the campground. the trees smell heavenly. Swimming in the lake or in the pool was very refreshing. It is very scenic , lots of flowers Wildlife Birds . Free firewood wow! most of the camp sites back up to the forest so lots of privacy. We recommend to anyone, great for families. Paddle boats and canoes are available for peaceful outings. read more

We stopped here for one night on our way through Idaho. The campground is on the lake and if you are tent camping you can choose lake front or a wooded spot. We like privacy, so we choose a spot further back. We really liked the hot showers and the Kampers Kitchen area. It was very convenient to cook and do dishes. We have been on the road for 5 weeks and a dish washing station is amazing to have. On top of that they have 3 stove top stations! The bathrooms were nice, they need a little work. We really loved that they provided us with free wood!!! There is an amazing view point of the lake and sunset that you have to check out! We would stay here again! read more

The campsite was clean and the staff were friendly, but we had a major wasp problem (swarms upon swarms) in late July and the staff didn't seem to take much if any action to resolve it. Also the campsites are quite small and everything is very packed together (very much so for a camp area in the middle of nowhere). Finally, the folks who stay here are a mixed bag. Even though quiet time started at 10PM, there were a handful of loud folks drinking and swearing in neighboring campsites and cabins until midnight, with staff doing nothing to resolve this (I didn't see any monitoring at all by the staff at any time). I wouldn't consider it, for this reason, very family friendly. If it's out of season, with less loud people at night, and there are no wasps, I would give this four stars but in late July, if you're a family, I would encourage you to pass on this place. read more

We did not plan for our trip at all but we decided to go camping anyways with little hopes of finding a camp site since it is the Labor Day weekend. Luckily, we came here,based on the reviews of our search while driving, and still have a few spots left. This is a beautiful, well-maintained campground. The restrooms and showers are extremely clean. Although the campground is very accessable to I-90 but it feels secluded since there is a lake separating the campground and I-90. There are many things that are free: wifi, canoes, paddle boats, lifevests, pools, outdoor kitchen, showers and best of all, firewoods (while everywhere else charges $6/bundle and we usually go through at least 3 bundles a day). The staff are very nice and helpful. We would definitely return to this campground and will recommend it to our friends and families. read more

WOW!!! This place has just about everything. The value is great and the quality of service top notch. Not only will I return but I will return often :) Even the TP is what I use at home. The area surrounding it is some of the most beautiful in the northwest and they are right in the middle of it on a mountain side with lake front access and the boats to go explore it in! Caution this location is not what it is advertised as. The pool is in disrepair, others have said the management said it will be fixed "soon"... The pull through sites are very narrow, forget using your awning. The sites are on a steep hill, had to use 4wd. The front office smells of mold and is in disrepair as well. When we arrived there was a non potable water warning posted by the county health Dept.. The owner said it was fixed, but still posted. They were also trying to fix a septic issue as well. BEWARE. Not recommended. Do your research. read more

Spent a weekend there last summer (SEP 2017). We stayed in one of the cabins and loved it. Cabin had a comfortable bed, heat, fan and close to the showers/restrooms. Location was perfect. Conveniently right off of I-90 but felt like you were a world away due to it being located in a slight open canyon that seemed to shield the camp from any outside noise. We kayaked Saturday afternoon, had drinks and a wonderful dinner downtown Coeur d'Alene in the evening and hiked a nearby trail the next day. Staff was friendly and courteous and gave great recommendations concerning things to do in the area. We will be back again next year. read more

We were stopping over in Coeur d'Alene on our way to Glacier National Park. We were able to rent out their cute cabins that comfortably slept my family of 4. After checking in we went down to the water where we had free use of their paddle boats. It was a great way for my kids to get out their wiggles after the car ride. That night we made a fire in the fire pit, with firewood that they provided! We are excited to come back next year as the new owners are making renovations to make our experience even better. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the facility was very clean and comfortable. read more
