You'd think this would ruin our day, but it gave me a chance to visit the office and meet Dan. His customer service is by far and wide the best I've seen in over a decade. He was so kind and generous. He gave the kids free stickers, searched the back for correct sizes of shirts I was interested in, and offered us rain checks for our experience being cut short. We will without a doubt be back! (The course was fun for the kids, but the customer service made us customers for life)

There is no lifeguard on duty but there is always some one from the department patrolling for other violations. Talking about violations. NO alcohol/bottles, No animals. Plenty of parking. The sand, grass area, water is clean and well maintained. It does get dirty during peak hours but they do come clean few times a day. This pond is isolated from other water bodies around it. Keeps it little cleaner. Makes it good for scuba diving and there is some fishing as well. The have amazing trail system in the park for cycling and hiking. There is a trail around this pond. If you hike to the back of the pond, there is some water access (private beach). Or a spot to take your girl friend. There are two sand volleyball courts with net. One shed which can be reserved. This park is ideal because it's away from the crowded beaches around the area. Only thing, there could have been more trees in the lawn area for shade and tie your hammock.

For all times, I stayed in Deerfield, with cabins, the cabins get pretty cold at night, so send you camper with an extra blanket maybe, The food portions you don't need to worry about - I wasn't an allergy camper, but they have a bunch of alternatives. I am a picky eater and i ate almost all of the food! I like how they let you tell out your pronouns to everyone - But there are some young kids. But every single time I go here, I meet the most AMAZING people. I don't really have anything I think they would need to improve, They have everything perfectly under control. But then people are talking about bullying and racism..... I can assure you NOBODY here is doing that! Everyone following the girl scout law. I highly recommend this camp.

First off let me inform you, that this is not a five star hotel. This is camp. You don't get a shower every day, you are going to have bug bites and you are going to be sweaty. There might be food you have never tried or do not like. But that is OK. There's always extra food at the salad bar, or extra cereal and milk, or whatever. Most of the time if you eat enough at meals, you are not hungry. I was looking at the other reviews, and people were complaining about food, counselors, and... racism? I'm sorry, but camp linden is the most excepting place I've ever been to. As for the counselors, all of the staff I have encountered have been kind, respectful, and caring, living up to the Girl Scout law. If don't want to camp, maybe check into the Hilton next summer instead? I have had a wonderful time at this camp and I look forward to coming back next summer.

A great rec area with so many trails to explore about. It's definitely got more elevation gains and…read morefalls that make it a bit more challenging than other hikes, but it's highly enjoyable. My favorite trail here is the Haven Hill Loop via the Blue Trail which clocks in at about 4 and a half miles. It's great year round, but in the spring it is particularly muddy. It can get a little challenging at times here because the park isn't as well kept and well marked as I'm used to at other Michigan state parks and rec areas, but nonetheless, it's a great time! I do find the hike gets a bit monotonous at points because the scenery doesn't change a lot, but then you get onto a boardwalk and it looks SO cool! Love it!

The race itself was well organized and the trail was in very good shape considering that it was raining the entire time. I can't comment on how well it's marked since the race director marks the trail for the course. I can say that it was beautiful and the woods and it would be a fun place for hiking too. Fall in Michigan is gorgeous and is definitely a time I would recommend visiting here. I will for sure be back to run more on these trails.

Lots of restrooms and parking. Pets are not allowed in the grass but I see pet lovers bring their dogs on a leash while walking. There's a children's playground. You can do sit ups, leg curl etc from the metal bars installed on certain location. Great place to have a picnic or bring food for a bbq party. May need to ask the admin for a permit. Wilcox Lake Rec Area is a tiny little park off of Hines Drive, but it's impressionable for its…read moresmall size. There's a small lake, Wilcox Lake, teaming with wildlife and is a popular local fishing spot. It features a pier. There is a dam on one end of the lake and boating isn't allowed. Picnic tables adorn the grassy areas next to the lake and there is a small restroom and a Doctor Who styled Little Free Library. The recreation area extends across Hines Drive to a picnic shelter which can hold maybe 50 people. There are some small grills for cooking. There is also a playscape, though it looks and feels ancient and in need of an upgrade. Compared to some of the larger, well-kept playscapes along Hines, this one is anemic. Thankfully, there are others less than a mile away.
