When I was participating in Camp Gladiator, I mostly enjoyed it. However, after a few months of working out, I started experiencing major medical issues (not related to CG). I was diagnosed with several serious illnesses and thus needed to cancel my membership as I could no longer work out. For context purposes, this was in February. Despite submitting the required paperwork and uploading a doctor's note via chat (which was the only way I was told I could submit the letter) I continued to be charged the monthly fee. I tried numerous times to call the CG number and had to endure extremely lengthy hold times. As a full-time working mom of 3, I have very little extra time in my day to wait on hold. I would press the option to ask for a call back and would never get a call back. Despite several attempts to cancel my membership, I continued to be charged. About 2 months ago, the credit card I had on file was compromised and I had to get a replacement credit card due to fraud. That's when the harassment started. Every single day I receive calls, emails and text from Camp Gladiator telling me I need to contact them to give them a new credit card number so they can process my payment - a payment I wasn't supposed to be paying in the first place due to the documentation I submitted months back. Instead of wasting more time trying to contact CG to give them a new credit card so they could continue endlessly charging me for a membership I wasn't using (because I physically could no longer exercise due to my medical issues) I decided to simply ignore the calls, hoping eventually CG would leave me alone. The texts, emails and calls kept coming and were non-stop. It got to the point where it was borderline harassment. Then, finally this week I received a call, text and email threatening that my unpaid balance would be sent to collections. I have never in my life had anything sent to collections and wasn't about to start now, especially with this. I called yet again and was on hold for a long time - taking time out of my work day to try and handle something that should've been handled months ago. I wait and wait and did not select the option to have someone call me back. I finally got a human and was told that I had to pay a past due balance or they'd send it to collections. They had no record of my calls, emails or direct messages sent through the online page. They had no record of the doctor's note I'd uploaded long ago. Nothing. I was then told that CG cannot accept outside emails. I wish I would've known that because I responded to the CG emails directly at least 5 different times. Then I was told that I would also owe two more months. I explained (again) about the medical situation and was informed that the doctor's notes I've sent previously most likely didn't go through because a very specific wording is required. This was the first I heard of this. So, the CG employee sent me the exact wording that needed to be included. I asked where I could email this note or scan it, upload it, drop it off somewhere - anything. I was told the only way I could send it in was via FAX. Yes, a fax machine. And then, they wouldn't charge me for the next two months. I had no fight left so I decided to go ahead and pay the past due balance despite the fact that if anything CG owes me money. I will yet again get another doctor's note and somehow find a fax machine. Will that work? I have no idea. I'm at my wit's end and you know it has to be bad for me to take even more time out of work to write this yelp review. I don't know what's going on over there, but if you're looking at CG membership, look somewhere else. You will basically never be able to cancel. You'll have to jump through countless hoops, and then jump through more hoops you didn't even know existed. The way they harassed me and wouldn't make any of this right, made me never ever want to work out with CG people again, which is sad because the CG coaches are really nice and I do think it's a good work out. Unless you're ready to commit to paying for a membership for the rest of your life, find another work out community to be a part of. read more

I used to love camp gladiator. Life got in the way, and I decided to cancel my membership last July, 2021. When I called to cancel, the person on the phone was pushy and told me she was going to permanently freeze my account so I wouldn't lose my data in case I decided to come back. Fast forward a year and I just realized I have been billed for camp gladiator for almost a year now. I called to get them to fix this, and they said they can't refund me for all the past charges. Before you sign up, read the cancellation policy because you're not able to cancel! They were not willing to work with me even when I explained to them that I'm moving. I was even willing to pay a cancellation fee. They only were willing to downgrade to virtual only if they had no camps within 30 miles of my new home (which doesn't work for me because I need the accountability of face-to-face). This organization promotes and attracts people by giving them a one or two week free pass to check out there programs. They do a great job in buttering you up. I signed a 2 year contract and figured it would be beneficial for me as the workout culture there seems attractive... I was wrong to sign up. Like many places, I was locked in and when I lost my job they only allowed me to "freeze" my account for 3 months, without exceptions if you do not find a job within that time, and then they go ahead and tell you you have to make up for that 3 months on top of the original contract deadline. We'll, I didn't find a job in three months and was relocated to VA as my husband is in the military. We are now not within the 30 miles of a workout location which when I signed the contract was told thar I could cancel if I was outside the 30 miles. Well I called to cancel and now they said, without any notice to me, that they changed there contract in the time I signed it locking me in to the only option of allegedly "downgrading" to virtual workouts. I asked how they could change that if I already signed the co tract they said, "oh because your contract is subject to change and the only other way you can cancel is by getting a doctor's note excusing you from working out" what is this high school? Every time so.eone signs Camp Gladiators contracts, they need to have someone notify them of all the restrictions. I was a member for over 2 years and I called to cancel due to they changed trainers and it just wasn't the same after the Kaufman scandal. Needless to say I will not be back because they charged me for January on the 1st and I canceled on January the 3rd but yet they wouldn't refund my January payment. Great workout! This is my first time trying a bootcamp (got their birthday deal). I like how every workout is different and a new challenge for your body. Reminded me of good ol' track workouts back in high school! I went to the location on Lemmon - Craddock Park. Uti and Crystal are both awesome coaches. Only complaint about the park is if you are allergic to grass be prepared! Had to prep with lots of allergy meds before the workouts. They have plenty of other locations all around the metroplex. Some are in parking lots. The workouts are 1 hour. Mix of sprints, lunges, abs, drills and some workouts incorporate 8-12lb weights. It's great for every skill level since the coaches don't "force" you to do anything but they will definitely make you workout! Great place to make new friends!!! Bring a mat, weights, water and get ready to sweat! read more

Beware of CG's auto-renewal option. I called 1 month into the program and explained that the program was too strenuous for me. I was told I must pay thru the end of the commitment. What I was not told was is there was an auto-renewal clause that continued to bill me. And, unfortunately, these kinds of emails seem to drop into my clutter folder. Hence, I had a $87 delinquent balance. When I called, Michelle worked with me to reduce the amount of a balance that I should not have been responsible to pay. Though I enjoyed some of the workouts, this company's business practices and their current business model opens them up for litigation. Not only that, they are not responsive to their customers' complaints. That not only makes for bad business, but it creates future problems that could easily be avoided. I signed up for Camp Gladiator through someone who advertised on my HOA platform. She seemed nice, but, what I found out is that she locked me into 24-month contract without my knowledge. How did I find out? I decided to cancel and was told about it. It was never mentioned to me when I gave her my credit card information. When the contract was sent to me a few days ago, I was flabbergasted to see that this woman (trainer) FORGED my signature. I don't know of any company who wouldn't take the accusation of FRAUD and FORGERY serious. The fact that I was told in a voicemail that research was done and it appears the contract was signed at 8:05pm, so there is nothing that can be done, lends to the fact that this company sees their customers as REVENUE STREAMS and nothing else. Go with another company who cares. There are too many businesses out there who would appreciate your hard-earned dollars and regard you as a person, rather than placing focus on getting into your wallet. read more

I signed a 2 year contract and when my 24 months in Feburary 2020 at $49.00 per month, then covid hit and gatherings were no longer allowed so they switched it to virtual. After the covid restrictions were lifted then sent out an email stating that virtual was no longer avaible with the bold membership, but if you paid and additional $20.00 per month and signed another 2 year contract you could continue with virtual. Also, the camp that I attended was about 18 miles from my house was no longer open, so the closest camp that fit in with my work schedule was 30 miles from my house. I could no longer attend camp because it would add almost 2 hours to my day however because I signed a 2 year contract, I didn't try to get out of it. My contract ended in January 2022 so I expected my membership to be over but no...they will continue to charge you. I have a busy life and I didn't check my credit card until April only to find out that they had charged me for 3 extra months. I called them (in mid-April) to ask why were they still charging me? They said that after your 24 months are over then they start going month to month and to cancel I have to call them, well I was on the phone now and i was upset because I had no idea that I had to call, I was told that my contract was for 2 years and thats all. So I told her that I wanted a refund and to cancel my membership ship, they said no that could not give me a refund, I was on the phone for 4+ minutes trying to get this handled and I was very angry. I then followed this up with an email to reiterate that i wanted to cancell (they had sent me an email to see if my phone call handled any problems) Since the customer service person kept saying the same thing over and over again, I hung up. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. So I checked my credit card in May and found out that they charged me again and for $59.00 this time. So I called them again and spoke to their "escalation manager", I told them that I called in mid-April and canceled and I wanted a refund for my $59.00 as I had canceled my membership in back in April, she refused to refund my money again. Now, I am really angry and did not hide it...I told her over and over again that I called and canceled just like they said but she still refused to refund the May charge, and her reason...I was not on the phone long enough for them to cancel my membership....really??? I was on the phone with"escalation manager" and I was really angry by this time and she canceled my memebership, so I said "I was on the phone with you and you canceled my membership, how is this any different. This company practices dishonestly...for example, they could have emailed me when my contract was about to be over and lett me know that I would be switching to month-to-month and that I needed to call and cancel but unfortunately this company is like so many others that do whatever they can to get your money. Finally have been released from my two year Bold membership. Good riddance. Signed up with CG in February 2020. I lost over 75% of my income due to Covid in March 2020. The most heartless representatives I have ever spoken with refused to let me out of the membership that I had had for less than a month. I was locked in despite all of the hardship caused by a global pandemic! Further, they were charging me $50/month for unlimited in-person classes - but there were no in-person classes for months because, again, it was a global pandemic. I have been a virtual-only member of CG for years - getting into it daily during the pandemic and seeing real results! My original coach was amazing and I cannot say enough positive about the experience. Unfortunately some things changed in my life so I stopped attending classes and after paying the contract for a year longer than I should have, I contacted CG over chat twice in the past few weeks to cancel. Ultimately I realized I wasn't getting anywhere when I saw yet another monthly charge on my card this month, so I called them. They did agree to cancel the membership, but wouldn't retroactively refund this month's fee even though (1) they could see the chat records where I requested cancellation 3 weeks ago and (2) they could see I had not joined any classes in over a year. Very disappointing since I have been a loyal subscriber for over three years - you would think they would refund my measly $30. It's a nit in the grand scheme of what I spent with them over the 3 years, including numerous referrals and equipment purchases, so I expected better. read more

Due to the ongoing pandemic, I will be relocating for work for an uncertain amount of time. Camp Gladiator only agreed to freeze my account with a service charge of $5 per month- which defeats the whole purpose of a freeze. They also do not count the freeze months as part of the 12-month contract which will then just extend the amount I have to pay for longer and will likely not even be able to utilize. I assumed they would be more lenient with their memberships considering that we are in a pandemic, but that is not the case. read more

They are hoping to get you into a contract to take from you even after your contract has ended. They just hope you don't notice it so they can continue to collect money from you. Run as fast as you can away from this place. I do enjoy the trainers, but this company has awful business structure and practices. Tried canceling my membership in September, they absolutely wouldn't budge. My agreement is up in April so I'm trying to reach someone to confirm I am actually done with them after the last payment. I've been calling and trying to use their Chat feature as they do not have a functioning email address. So far I've received two calls but I can't understand what the girl is saying because the phone is cutting out so badly. After the two calls, all I could make out was her saying "after the contract is up, you are eligible for cancelation". I'm eligible to cancel after my contract is up?! Shouldn't the contract be up after it's up! I asked her how I can cancel now because they are so difficult to get ahold of and I 100% DO NOT want a membership with them. I joined CG January 2020 and My selected trainer was great and I definitely give her 5 .I also worked out with another great trainer in my area who i found that his selected times matched better with my work schedule since I work two jobs and really had to find time to do outdoors but he stopped trainer to pursue another career. I enjoyed and did many virtuals but after a break of workouts I logged into my account only to find out that I could no longer do virtual workouts unless I upgraded my contract. When I originally got the contract during the pandemic, virtual and outdoor was available to me , 2021 still being in a pandemic and CG decide to change up rules so more people extend their contract. I think it was a bad move on CG considering we are still in a pandemic, so I read the fine print again and definitely seen that CG stated that things are subject to change during a contract, and thats fine but I decided to cancel my contract because of it.. I think everyone should be accommodated to how they chose to workout at a price of $69.00/ monthly. I should be able to choose virtual or outdoor since it was offered at the very beginning of my contract. CG changing how customers chose to workout who's already in a contract is an attempt to force customers to renew to longer contracts. Overall I enjoyed the trainers but I don't agree with CG change in policy in the middle of a contract during a pandemic, just to recieve more money. Okay, So I tried to cancel my membership due to the comment on my last review saying that with an email I can cancel. Well that is wrong! There are still no cancelations unless you have a medal reason, which you must have a doctors know how the medal issue and how long you will be out for. I kid you not, I feel as if I am in workout prison and they are forcing me to go.. If you sign up for camp gladiator, just know that it is very hard to cancel and that they will automatically keep you account going, even though you have call and emailed to cancel. If you would have asked me last year about giving CG a review...I would have given it 5 stars. Now....I'm giving it 1. My trainer left after 5 years - very sad. Got a new trainer who was absent quite a bit - didn't show up for classes etc. When I called and spoke with management about cancelling my membership, they told me that I had signed a new contract, but failed to show me how that was actually produced or signed by me....because their system is SO automated. They refused to cancel my membership. Shameful business model - after paying for 5 1/2 years....they are unable to show proof that I actually signed that new contract and refused to budge on the getting out of the contract. I have tried talking to multiple people and they won't let me cancel. Even right after birth they told me that wasn't a good enough reason. I'm sorry-WHAT? I moved to a location that doesn't have a camp within 100 miles of it and it took over a year to get them to cancel me and let me move on. I was charged multiple times and it is just insane. I had a month left of my membership and then guess what happens? A PANDEMIC. I froze me account thinking this surely won't last but a few weeks. Well here we are. Months into this and we're still dealing with massive numbers of infections on a daily basis and I don't want to pay for a virtual workout. The whole reason I signed up for this was for the outside experience and social interaction. I requested to cancel my account and was told I still had to pay for a month. I also was unable to remove my card from the website. How convenient. After refusing to pay for a month I would not use due to a PANDEMIC I got harassment phone calls for payment. Terrible customer service! I was 6 months into the 1 yr membership, my life situation changed financially. I called them trying to resolve the issue, canceling my membership. The customer service rep keeps on repeating "you signed up for 1 year, you are not eligible to cancel" and after I told her I'm financially unable to make anymore payment, she threaten to send me to collection and pursue legal action. For the sake of Gods, this company stated their mission is to "change life". My life changed, alright, not in a good way. And it's not like I'm buying anything from this company, or getting free work outs. It's a fitness membership, for goodness sake. While people are struggling to live their lives, this company threatens to sue for stupid fitness fee. If you want to sign up for this CG, you better make sure you have enough money to pay them for a whole year. At first, they will be very nice to you to lure you into their trap. They refused to cancel my account many times and continue charging me. I finally got through to someone today that canceled my account yet this does nothing for my over drawn account yet again. Do NOT sign up for this thing. They have horrible regulations and rules and have absolutely NO sympathy for anything going on and are just plain old money hungry. I really wish this could be ZERO stars! I regret not seeing these reviews before signing up for membership. Today I tried calling to cancel my membership. This is the worst organization ever. I don't even use camp gladiator anymore due to my work schedule and now they are telling me that I have to pay $65 a month for a minimum of 24 months before I can cancel the membership. PLUS they only give you 3 freeze options within the entire 24 month period. What kind of sense does that make? This is a scam at it's finest. When headquarters tell their trainers to pull aside 3 of their most trusted campers and ask them to give the company a 5-star review just to lift the ratings, that says a lot about their business practices. WOW - this is THE worst customer service I've experienced in a really long time!!! Today, I spoke to Stephanie. She started the phone call with an attitude and automatically assumed I wanted to cancel my membership. I told her there were a couple things I needed help with and one of those was to update my payment. She just could not understand what I was asking and I had to reiterate a couple times that I'm not asking to cancel my membership but update my payment information because I couldn't do it on their website. I also needed to figure out what to do about the months I missed due to TWO different injuries. I told her I broke my foot in November and my wrist in January and I could provide all documentation to support this. Still with an attitude, she asked "what are you asking?" I asked if I could be credited those months missed on the back end of my membership or somehow be reimbursed for the time missed due to being injured. I have been signed up since May 2018 and my current membership ends May 2020. She said, "No, you were supposed to call and freeze your account at the time of injury. Why are you just calling about this now?" I told her honestly - I have had a really hard last year (in reality it's been about 1.5 yrs). I've gone through a divorce, became a single mother of two, still have to work full time, and went through massive depression and injuries. On top of that, I tried - several times. Every single time I've tried to call it's been over a 30 minute wait. I sent an email and was told I would need to call (I then got a survey wanting to rate my experience and I answered - it was nonexistent. I didn't get any help and still nothing.) Even today, I was determined to get a person to speak to about this. I literally waited on hold for 40 minutes before an automated prompt came on asking to leave a phone number to get a return call AND then it hung up. I'm trying to finally take care of everything that went to the wayside, and this was one of them. She just responded with "I'm sorry that happened. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do anything. It was your responsibility to provide all the paperwork at the time of injury to freeze your account." I then asked to speak to her Manager. She said they were all in a meeting (while I could hear people laughing in the background). I told her I can wait to speak to someone and kept being told I was not able to speak to a Manager. I then told her I would not continue business with Camp Gladiator. I DO NOT want to continue my membership after May. She said I still have 9 billing cycles until my membership was over (again, she went back to cancellation). I said, in May, after my agreed membership with Camp Gladiator. I'm not asking for her to cancel my current membership but that I DO NOT want to renew for my membership. She then told me I WOULD HAVE TO CALL AGAIN THE MONTH MY MEMBERSHIP ENDED. I told her, I don't want to go through this gauntlet of trying to get ahold of someone again, I'm talking to someone NOW. I do not want to continue doing business with this company. She said it was in my contract that I would have to call again that month to prevent the auto renew!!!! But I didn't sign up for an auto renew, I signed up for 24 months. And I didn't even sign up for it myself. I did a 30 day trial through my work and told my trainer I was interested in staying on for the 24 months. So, what they are saying is the trainer was able to automatically get me into a membership but someone in customer service can't prevent my auto-renew??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? I was livid!! I could not believe this experience. Y'all... I wasn't asking for much, I wasn't asking to cancel my membership (like she kept getting to) I literally was asking to be credited the months that I had missed for medical reason. And I can provide proof of these injuries!!! AND I wasn't able to speak to a Manager? Really? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They have some great trainers but TERRIBLE Customer service - they don't care about anything but their bottom line. It's as if they are hurting for business so badly that they are willing to rail all their customers that experience any life issues outside of their contract. Just DON'T do it!!!! If this review keeps 1 person away from CG then it's all worth it to me, because that's at least 6 months of payments out of their pockets.. Workouts are good and trainers are good people, but you have to move mountains to get out of the contract. I would highly advise against signing up or trying it out because the trainers are pressured to make sales. It's basically a cult and an MLM mixed together. You don't want to deal with it. (While we're at it stay away from MLM folks!) I messed up and took an early extension to lock in a lower monthly rate. I could've been free but I'm stuck paying for another 6 months. I thought I lost my credit card, but saw they'll send collections agencies after you, and miraculously found it again. Granted it was my screw up that got me into this mess and I can afford it, but just read some of the other reviews and BBB reports from people in real need. What a bunch of scumbags.. Anyways, avoid CG like the plague. There are plenty of other gyms/apps/programs that can get you fit at the same cost if not cheaper per month and you can cancel anytime! It's 2019: if you're a consumer service that doesn't offer hassle free cancellations month to month, you're going the way of the dinosaur and I'll happily dance on your grave. I saw a posting for a position I was qualified for in the organization. I applied since I like what I read about Camp Gladiator. Passed the phone screening was invited to do a virtual interview with the team. It was well organized and the team was very friendly. I was told that the HR director would be in contact with me. I heard from her via text because she was stuck on a call. She asked if I was available the following day, I explained that my schedule was full and that I would be available after her call. I didn't hear back from her, so I sent an email a day or two later telling her I was looking forward to speaking with her and I never heard back. Obviously I didn't get the job but it would have been nice to receive some feedback. I was very disappointed in the lack of professional courtesy. read more

The workouts were fine, the people were clique-ish and unfriendly or overly annoying, the customer support was terrible. It's kind of like how gyms used to make you sign up for a 2 year contract with no possible way to get out of it or even flexibility. Sure, that's fair, I signed up for 6 months and will wait it out. Just a warning that you have to CALL IN between business hours on the exact day before your billing to cancel. You may not write in, email in, buy out your contract, chat with anyone to do this. Classes were enjoyable when I went, but they intentionally make it difficult to cancel your membership, which I find to be an incredibly frustrating business model. I was thinking about signing up again in the future, but their business practices have ensured that I won't. You must call to cancel. It is not possible to cancel online. The website specifically states that "All cancellation requests must be called in and processed 30 days prior to your next bill date." After waiting on hold for an hour and a half, I was told they "were unable to process my cancellation early" and I had to call back on July 12th. After asking to speak with a manager, they agreed to process my last payment early and process my cancellation request. read more

I just want to warn potential Gladiators. I signed up for Camp Gladiators and excited about the future of wellness, teamwork and community. Unfortunately, I lost my job and due to this financial difficulties followed. I have asked/pleaded for understanding but corporate feels that is no concern of theirs. They did offer to freeze my account until contract expiration in June. However, they WILL charge me and my wife 10.00 monthly until that time. I really enjoyed Camp Gladiator and would definitely have rejoined as soon as life rebalanced. I can assure you that they not only lost future consideration, I and my wife will do everything we can to steer others away. All because of corporate greed! Sad! read more
