I legit had no idea this gym even existed in the Dallas area. It has an old school vibe along with an outdoor area for when the temperatures are warm and you can seriously get a good workout in here. Some of the machines are kind of worn down, but with steel plates it provides that old school feel for true fitness heads like myself. I like this gym, its dim lighting, closeness to home, and price are my favorite parts. It's also 24/7 with cameras inside and a locked door (need to know the code to enter) for safety. People here range from beginners to body builders, and the patrons are kind and non judgmental. The equipment is older, there's only 2 toilets (one for men and women) and the "locker room" pretty small and is in the bathroom/toilet area. Parking is tough during peak hours and it can get hoottt in the summertime. Fans can only do so much. I also dislike when people blast their music over the speakers.If you're here just to workout then it's a good spot to get in and get out. read more

Love that it is down the street from work. The prices are good but should be lower. I say this because the floors are uneven in the gym. I also almost fell because the turf is not secure to the floor. The main floor will make you slip a bit depending on your shoes. There is NO water ='( you have to come prepare literally. Next rep is a great area to lift. Very laid back. It's by no means an equinox gym but that's what I really enjoyed about it. It's one of the ONLY 24 hour gyms still in Dallas that is self entry. Really nice trainers and environment. The biggest reason this is a 5 star review is because they let you cancel your membership over the phone. I moved and wanted to switch to a closer gym and they made it VERY easy to cancel. I've been a member of a lot of gyms and never has it been an easier process. Lastly, my one complaint is every once in a while someone brings a speaker and blasts music. It's not a big deal but definitely a bit obnoxious. They make it impossible to cancel your membership! There is never anyone at the front desk, and I tried calling, leaving messages, sending emails. No one ever gets back to you. First of all it has improved recently but still has major issues. The ladies bathroom: lights are motion detectors so when you walk in the huge bugs on the floor run for cover, gross!! The rubber floor trim is gaping and there is mold behind it, nowhere to hang anything, no hooks, not even a cheap table or shelf to put your water bottle on. So if you don't want bugs in your purse or on your clothes you have to hold everything while you use the facility. No locks on doors and lockers can't fit a lock anyway. The bathroom door opens out into the gym so no privacy if you need to change and someone walks in. No hand towels- one old wall dryer. It's nasty in there. It's very hot in the summer, some fans work, some don't, 2 wall AC units cool a few spots. Many lightbulbs are out overhead, so it seems like a basement rather than a real gym. It's not very clean but you probably have to pay people decently to do it. The parking lot has trash and weeds and the sign lights are out. Did I say this was an improvement? It is slowly improving BUT fix the ladies room before the health department shows up . A $200 investment- paper towels, door locks, a table and hooks and decent lighting would go a long way to make women there feel like their business is appreciated. read more

I'm an out of towner(and own a club myself) and the owner and staff were more than willing to help me out. Anyone that travels and isn't near a club that they may be part of, know how difficult it is to find a club to workout in. This was an easy and super enjoyable experience. - Marlon was the one that I dealt with and he was professional and answered any questions that I had. - This gym has everything you need to get a great workout in. And it looks like they have a few personal trainers available as well. In addition to that(probably the most important thing if you ask me), the members were nice and welcoming. A smile, nod, and even an actual "hey man what's going on?" The members build a club, not the staff. This place understands that. - Keep it up guys and gals! If you're looking for a local gym instead of a franchise facility - this is your go to in the uptown/love field area! I've been coming to this gym for the past few years. Cody and the team has done a great job with expansion and adding new equipment each year. Monthly membership due ranges between $15-30 depending other enrollment fee and other discounts that may apply. I believe there is no contract in place since it's month to month. One of the best perks of the gym is 24/7 convenience of checking in/out with your card. The trainers has been in the industry for quite some time and share a wealthy knowledge of fitness. The gym is a typical gym vibe with your workout equipments. Not the best looking facility but it gets the job done. There is no central AC unit so it can be hot during the summer season. Another thing I would like to add is the lack of bench press. There is only one solid bench press equipment. During peak hours - it's a struggle to get on next. If I didn't move to a different location, I would've stayed at this gym. Definitely recommend this gym. They can accommodate any of your fitness goals. read more

This place has everything I need for strength training at a great price. The best aspects of the gym are its 24-hour keycard access, $15/month rate for UTSW affiliates, and that it has all the important stuff for weight training. The weight room is overall well stocked and I rarely have to wait to use anything. It does not get too crowded. The machines and racks are in overall good repair. They pump good workout tunes throughout the facility. Parking is easy. There are usually personal trainers on site working with clients, which is a major advantage for people looking to start training. I think people in the area will find few places with better value for their strength training needs. Downsides of NXT may limit its appeal to people looking for an extensive cardio gym (it has the basics) and a luxury experience. Again, it's great value for the price, but prospective members should be aware its temperature management is not perfect (no AC in the summer currently) and its bathroom and shower facilities are limited in quantity and can get dirty over the weekend. If you're looking for a place to sweat, NXT is the place to be. No AC, hardcore, Arnold posters on the wall, testosterone induced equipment, will leave you feeling like you just took a shower after leaving. Jokes aside, this place is affordable, loaded with a plethora of equipment, a Dave and busters to your gym rat. I enjoy the 24/7 access, the flow of people going in and out (never too crowded), people seem friendly. Could have some water stations, more cardio, and more of a lobby area. But for the price and convenience, this place does just that. Located near the parkland hospital and 10 mins from downtown, up and coming area it seems like. Place could use some renovations but it has that rustic, old school, shut up and lift feeling. read more

I already have a gym membership at planet fitness. I just come here to train with my personal trainer, Danny Vannaraj. He really is an expert. It's good to have someone making sure you are performing the exercises properly to avoid injuries and for maximum efficiency. He also caters to my capabilities and motivates me to get pushing and know when not to push. I'm a massage therapist and grip weights puts a strain on my arms and Danny has excellent modifications to help me target my muscle groups without straining my arms. read more

I have lived around the corner from this gym for 3 years now, lol Due to COVID shutting down my complex Gym I walked in one day... and have been here every week, 4 times a week since then. My now trainer, Lupe is fantastic and I really enjoy and trust working with him. The gym has an old school feel which I love, you dont have to be a size 2 fitness model to feel at home here, everyone is just here to get a good workout in. I just moved to Dallas, and I had scoped this gym out months in advance in hopes of it being my go-to. I found out they accept the Active & Fit membership offered by my insurance, and I wanted to ask a few questions. I called and got no answer a bunch of times, so eventually I reached out on Instagram. They responded and said I could join with A&F but I would only be able to work out during staffed hours/not 24/7. I had some follow up questions so I called again, left a message, never heard back, and eventually tried to ask it on Instagram again. They "left me on read" as the kids say, so after I moved and got settled I decided just to go in on a Saturday during staffed hours. When I got there, there was a sign stating that the door is locked and to ring the bell. I rang it at least 15 times, kept calling, and waiting upwards of 15 mins before a member finally let me in. He pointed me to a trainer, who I had to interrupt to ask about signing up. He told me that the Saturday desk people haven't been there lately and that I should come back on a weekday. This is when I told him I've been calling but no one will call back, to which he said "yeah i don't know what's going on." He was nice enough to let me work out, but at this point I have no interest in joining. I tried so many times to give this gym a chance but I guess I'll stick with the chains since they are at least reliable. Really disappointing! read more

Once again, NXT Rep Fitness delivered for me. I used to train with Cody in 2011 back when the gym was in this teeny, tiny building off Henderson. I had such great results with Cody back then, that I decided to give NXT Rep Fitness another go when I got engaged and had to take off some weight I had put back on after I stopped seeing Cody (my bad). I had since moved from Dallas to McKinney so I was a good distance away but I didn't care. I knew I needed results for my January 2015 wedding and I knew I could get them going back to NXT Rep. As it turned out, Cody was booked with clients when I contacted him to come back but he had another trainer in his gym, Marlon who could bring me on as a client. I started seeing Marlon in September 2014 up until my wedding week in January 2015. We trained twice a week and he was very accommodating to my schedule. In addition to that, Marlon would text to check in on me throughout the week to "assess the damage" and see what we could tackle during each of our next visits. He was encouraging, positive and supportive, everything you'd want in a trainer. Sadly the wedding is over and I'm back up in McKinney working out at a local gym but if I still lived in the Dallas area, NXT Rep would be my gym in a heartbeat. It was worth the 30 minute drive twice a week for me to get my weight down for my wedding. This gym is small, and the frills are few, but -It's got everything you need to get in a solid workout -The prices are great -The location is perfect if you live or work in and around the Parkland/UT area. The location is a big deal for me because I can slip in for a quick workout at lunch. How much exercise can I get in that short a time? A lot more than I do at my desk. Watching NXT Rep Fitness grow has been so exciting. Moving from the location over off Inwood to this almost 9000sq foot gym has been so great to see. I love the dedication Cody, the owner, has put into growing this grass roots and giving back! NXT Rep has so many unique machines that you don't find anywhere else. They have a turfed cross training area, big tires to lift/flip, a half court basketball area for classes or training, those awesome roll-up doors for when the weather is nice, and several pieces of cardio. It isn't like a big box gym - AT ALL. If that is what you are looking for, go there. Not everything matches perfectly, but that is perfectly okay with me. The people that come to the gym are coming to get work done. They don't roll in with full make-up and matching outfits, they are there to WORK and I love that! The gym also offers the NASM Training program and those that are interested can take classes to get certified to become trainers. They are rolling out new basketball skills classes now which is really exciting! I also appreciate NXT Rep partnering with www.7dayfitness.org which helps children learn to live healthy lifestyles. The fact that a percent of supplement profits goes there really warms my heart as well. Now that Cody is getting established in Dallas I feel confident even MORE improvements will come. SLUMLORD + NO REAL AC = THE WORST WORKOUT EXPERIENCE EVER! The guy that owns this place is either a penny pincher or just plain cheap. The place has 5 or 6 treadmills of which only 2 work. The workout machines are constantly breaking down, I'm assuming they are used. The "dressing room" has absolutely NO AIR and the bathrooms look worse than a portable bathroom; the smell, leaks and rust are disgusting. Also, per the reviews the owner installed "window A/C units," what is this, 1940's? That place looks like it used to be an auto shop so the insulation is already piss poor, then throw in window A/C's that only spot cool and portable fans that are constantly going out make it unbearable during the summer to workout. I am just amazed that the owner is able to run a business like this, there has to be numerous building regulations that they are violating. The owner is definitely getting by at the bare minimum. Health and Fitness should be taken very seriously and if that is what you are looking for, you have better luck at your home gym. I will never return to this place. EVER! This gym just opened and I'm impressed with the location, machines, convenience, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff. For UTSW employees its almost half the price of the UTSW gym highlighting the great deal that this gym provides over other local options. Easy to get a run or lift a bit before work, during lunch, or after work. Would highly recommend gym as its an excellent value with a can't beat location to the medical center. Well, I looks like they are opened after all and only appeared to be closed. I went to go check it out and maybe sign up after realizing this. I figured for $10 a month, it sounded like a deal too good to believe for a gym membership. Once I looked around inside, I could see why. It's starts with the climb up the stairs that are all sticky like inside an old movie theater. And the hand railing so nasty you really don't want to touch it. Once inside the gym, it's pretty dirty inside, and has torn carpet and scared up walls. The cardio wood floor looked like it hasn't been cleaned. They do not have that many pieces of strength equipment. So their would be a waiting line for the few pieces they do have. The shower room had burned out lights, and the stalls had tin doors. I was there for awhile looking around, and nobody ever helped me, and then I left. Though it turned out they were open and I was able to visit. I'm keeping my one star, and would not join this gym even for $10 a month. Mostly I'd be in fear of getting sick from the poorly kept up environment that is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. read more
