Found this place while driving down I 5. Lady in the office was really nice, we were using a tent and found a spot easily and close to the river. The area is nice, lots of wild black berry bushes which my son loved. The tent sites are not maintained very well, by maintained I mean cleaned between campers. Nothing major just empty water bottle and a few food wrappers. We picked up the few items laying about. While we were setting up someone from the office started riding a big lawn mower around the grounds. There is no grass, it's all dead, so the only thing this accomplished was a lot of dust. We would probably stay here again just because of the river.

It was a nice place. Beats boondocking and it's close to the river and other attractions.

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting/hiking Mount St Helens, or just checking out the area. The freeway is on one side and there are trains that frequently pass through on the other side, so it is noisy. We don't mind. We appreciate you being part of this program that we use, and thank you for opening your park and services to us!

POOL CLOSED DESPITE BEING ADVERTISED AND PROMISED OPEN…read more MULTIPLE LONG-TERM RESIDENTS REPORTED BROWN WATER AND USE ADDITIONAL FILTRATION SYSTEMS NO REFUND OR COMPENSATION OFFERED WHEN THE RESORT'S MAIN ADVERTISED AMENITY WAS UNAVAILABLE We recently stayed at Toutle River RV Resort and were extremely disappointed. The primary reason we booked this resort more than four weeks in advance was because we were repeatedly told that the heated swimming pool would be open and operational by the time of our stay. We have two granddaughters, ages 5 and 8, who had recently completed swim lessons, and the pool was the main attraction that led us to choose this resort. Before arriving, we were assured multiple times that the pool would be ready. The day before our arrival, we were told they were simply waiting for a heater installation and that the pool would be open when we got there. Upon arrival, the pool was still closed. After speaking with staff and several long-term residents, we learned that the pool had reportedly been unavailable for a significant period of time. Numerous guests were arriving expecting to use the pool and expressing frustration when they discovered it was closed. When I requested a refund or compensation because the primary amenity that influenced our booking was unavailable, none was offered. Another concern was the water quality throughout the resort. Several long-term residents told us they have installed multiple filtration systems because the water frequently appears brown. We personally observed discoloration when the water was placed in a white container. My husband drank the water and later became ill with stomach issues. While I cannot state with certainty that the water caused his illness, the condition of the water was concerning enough that we immediately stopped using it for drinking. As an alternative to the closed pool, we were directed to the river approximately one-third of a mile away. While the river itself was beautiful, it was not what we paid for when choosing a resort that prominently advertises a heated swimming pool. The most disappointing part is that this property has incredible potential. The setting is beautiful, the grounds are attractive, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, management appears unable or unwilling to properly maintain the amenities that are heavily used in their advertising. Guests deserve accurate information before booking. If the pool is not operational, that should be clearly disclosed before payment is accepted. Had we known the pool would not be available, we would have booked elsewhere. Because of the misleading information regarding the pool, the concerns regarding water quality, and the complete lack of compensation when a major advertised amenity was unavailable, we would not return and cannot recommend this resort. UPDATE: During our stay, one staff member became emotional while discussing the volume of complaints regarding the pool situation and stated they had submitted their notice and were leaving. It was clear that many guests were upset about the same issue. That alone should tell management that this problem needs immediate attention.

There used to be a community room, it's now the owners "mancave". He has a sticker on the office window that says he accepts credit cards, that's a lie. This guy is stuck in the 80's and only accepts paper checks. The old owner just ran our card for rent, it was super convenient. My neighbor had a tree limb fall on his trailer during a storm, the owner didn't want to contact insurance to properly take care of the issue. Instead he tries to make deals like a used car salesman. (I have a feeling that's going to come back to bite him, karma does that) There used to be professional landscapers to take care of the park, now a teenager does it and doesn't even bag the grass. Not to mention the owner, Chip went to do some weed eating because he's so cheap, the idiot broke my truck window with a rock while doing so. He also threatened to kick me out because I used a blower to clean up his grass mess. The grass was being tracked everywhere! So we did move. Best decision I've made in a long time. The fellow longterm campers now call the park "Hitler's camp". I know a bit dramatic but he does walk around the park 24/7 and pretends to be your friend, then dictates and tries to tell you what to do. The way I see it, he just has a big case of little man syndrome. It's like owning a bar and also drinking in it on a nightly basis. Just something you shouldn't do. People that have been here for a long time are leaving solely because of the new owner. I can't reccomend NOT staying here enough, seriously. Fairview or sandy river rv park would be my recomendation if you need to be on the east side.
