Did you know that all commissary hours are not the same? This particular commissary has by far the best hours throughout the week! I do not understand why everything has been rearranged, because it's driving me crazy and showing my age. I love the sandwiches and sushi here! The store vibe requires a need for new ordering clerks; I feel like some of the brands here are unknown, not all, but some. The Asian aisle has been completely stripped to just generic brands. My only issues are that the bathrooms for males are always down, and the parking lot is damaged due to the trees.

Pros: lots of pull off coupons. Meat prices are the best in the area. Great deals on cereals, laundry detergent and snacks. Cons: prices are inconsistent and change from day to day. The produce isn't the best.

All Armed Forces grocery stores are operated by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). So for the most part, no matter which military installation you're on, be it stateside or overseas, the commissary on base will have the same setup, look and feel. Yes, some are larger than others or offer more or fewer services, like deli counters, bakeries, seafood stations, etc... But if you've been in one, you'll recognize another. Even what is on the shelves will be the same. There will be some items tailored to the local area and special ordered items but pretty much everything will be presented and arranged in the same standardized fashion. This is a good thing, especially for family members who move from base to base on average every three years. This Commissary on Camp Pendleton is nice. It's large and serves a substantial population. It gets really busy so find the low-use time windows and your shopping experience will be a breeze. Post hoarding mode, everything seems to be back to well stocked. Shelves are full and aesthetically pleasing with everything nice and aligned and kept pushed to the edge. You know the neat grocery store look. They have the regular check-out lanes and then the express self-check-out area. I don't know why I call it "express" because most people using self-check-out appear as if they've never used it before. Sloooow. Other than that, the place is clean and neat and still one of the better benefits.

"military only" coupons for products that the camp pen commisary doesn't have

coupons for "military store only" are for products that the camp pen commisary doesn't have. they've been handing these coupon flyers for a couple months, and they don't carry the products . no surprise. two stars is generous

    goodies! saved $13 w coupons!

They have these "app only" deals but here's the kicker - the store has no service! so tonight I'm standing online holding up the entire line trying to get this app to show me the deal on broccoli so I don't have to pay $10 for broccoli... everyone behind me is aggravated and rightfully so! Like human beings are not stressed out enough now we have to deal with this? The cashier is just standing there... finally he gave up when he saw that I wasn't just gonna give up and pay full price and just scanned the barcode for me and I just looked at him like sir, You had the barcode this whole time and you had me here fighting with an app holding up the line pissing everyone off like, are you for real? I've been saying I'm going to do this for a long time but tonight I finally had enough. The bakery is well stocked with cakes, less pies and not so many bread rolls and cookies as other groceries. They do a good job of custom order though, fast, accurate, well priced. Self check out on both sides, though only 1 is open usually. Staff are generally nice and friendly. Prices aren't the best, but you gotta work for their deals sometimes. I like their deli selection as it's a higher quality than Albertsons, but I like Albertsons deli items (hot and cold) more. Ralphs has better cheeses. Seafood is standard quality, though more limited. Same with their butcher offerings. I often have to custom order oxtails, picana cuts as they don't stock as much as you'd expect. Large ice cream and chips selection, small pickle selection. Some items are sort of illogically placed. During busy times they tend to run out of key ingredients (thyme and rosemary for thanksgiving). They tend to pull things at night on the early side. Their egg selection is limited, but their hotdog selection is larger than most. Idk who at Kroger does their buying, but they could certainly use a push more towards Pavillions than the standard run of the mill Ralphs.

As a kid I didn't like going here because I didn't think it was as "nice" as Lucky's (aka Albertson's)...how wrong I was!!! Major Market is so much better than Albertsons by a long shot. The produce is better, the hot food is better, and they have a lot of niche/local baked goods that you can't find in most mainstream grocery stores. Not only that but the prices are not too bad, especially for an independent grocery. Unfortunately the last time I visited here, I didn't see that many people. My mom told me that less people have been shopping here and are opting for the Grocery Outlet down the street. As much as I love Grocery Outlet, that makes me sad. Honestly if I lived in Fallbrook, I'd try to come to Major Market more! Love this place!

Additionally, their sushi, smoothie bar and pre-made foods are top notch - they are MILES ahead of any of the "big" grocery stores. So the question is - if they are so great, why do they only have 4 stars on Yelp? One major reason is that they stretch their products. If you don't check the expiration date on every product you purchase, you will end up buying something months after it expired. I purchased a Brie-en-croute on sale for Super Bowl. I was so excited to try it. When I opened the box, the product had mold all over it. I looked at the expiration date and it was not supposed to expire for another week. Then I looked more closely. They had an expiration sticker that was on the box that had already passed, and then they put another sticker on top of that one with a different expiration date. That's not accidental - that's intentional. I definitely felt taken advantage of. Is it enough to make me stop shopping at Frazier Farms? Absolutely not. But, if this grocery outlet wants to improve, they need to look into why so many products on the shelves are expired. I understand not wanting to waste things. But you can't put new stickers on top of old stickers while selling a moldy product. I hope someone in management reads this review, and takes it seriously. I don't have time to go back to Fraziers every time I have to return an expired product. If that changes, I will change this review to 5 stars.

The coleslaw was fresh and creamy, not overly sweet, and worked well as a contrast to the fried seafood. The hush puppies were warm, slightly crisp on the outside, and soft inside -- easy to snack on while enjoying the view. Portions were generous and perfect for a relaxed midday meal. Service & Atmosphere Service was friendly and laid-back, matching the beachy atmosphere. Joe's is clearly about casual fun rather than fine dining, and it delivers on that front with a lively, family-friendly feel.
