Woof! Woof! My dog has been coming here for the past nine years for daycare and boarding. I was away on a foreign trip recently. I received photos through text a few times. I also reached out separately twice and the staff were responsive. I checked the muttcam once and was able to find my dog. My dog settled back home easily and I don't think she missed me. There is no risk of her running out of the front door and there is 24/7 coverage. I don't have these assurances with a pet sitter. I would not take my dog somewhere that she doesn't have a history with. She is scared of new environments and it takes her some time to feel comfortable. I also need to feel confident that she'll be taken care of. This takes time. I do expect Camp to remove any dogs that are misbehaving or aggressive, including my own dog. Outside of Camp, my dog was attacked by dogs on two separate occasions. The other dogs are good dogs, but for whatever reason became aggressive. One dog belongs to my brother and the other to my neighbor. It's very scary to deal with angry dogs because you don't know if they will also attack their human handlers. My dog is small and sweet, but she will put on her boxing gloves if needed despite the fact she doesn't stand a chance with bigger dogs. I wouldn't take it personally if she needed to be removed because it's for her own safety as well as the safety of the other dogs and staff. For the past nine years, she's been a happy camper. Woof! Woof!

*Note: Jen, the owner who has responded below, is now privately messaging me accusing me of "shaming" her facility for solely sharing my experience.* Please read and watch before considering booking here: *Disclaimer: My Winston's stay here was months ago but am now just getting around to writing the review because my priority was my dog's health and safety.* Winstons normal sitter was booked so I wanted to try Camp-Run-A-Mutt. I wanted Winston to start attending here regularly during work hours, so this was a trial run and we were really excited. I thought it would be something really enjoyable, like a vacation for him. Now, I feel so bad I ever left him there. Initially I was weirded out because they claim you can watch your dog and they send updates, but the cameras turn off around 5pm/6pm and do not turn on until sunrise morning time and the updates are not daily. That is fine, when I called to ask about this they said it was for employee safety which is totally fair! Just made me want to see my Win more during the the hours I could check in on him. What I saw was... not ever what I expected... This guy was grabbing Winston by the neck and was crouching over him like this for over thirty seconds!!! Yelp only allows 12 second videos but I have over 2 minutes of this interaction. This is only when he gets caught. I was watching everything live. In the video, you can read Winston's body language and he is very obviously shaken up and not comfortable at all. I immediately called to ask about what I had just seen and apparently they were closing down the pool area and Winston was not complying? Winston is such such a good boy, he is trained and has never known anything other than love for his 7 years. This is NOT how you discipline a dog. Especially not someone else's dog. I ended up flying back in from Mexico two days early to pickup my Winston. The skin around his eyes was super super black black (normally light, pink-ish skin) and he was so lethargic. I had never seen him like this before. For the following 24 hours, he had diarrhea so this finally warranted a trip to the vet. Turns out he had gotten giardia and was severely dehydrated. I know there are a lot of positive reviews here so I don't want to discredit anyone's experiences, but this was ours. I do not put hands on my dog this way, so I certainly would never expect someone else to do this and this is what happens in the hours the camera is actually accessible.

If I could give 0 stars, I would... I dropped my dog Levi off on Thursday as a perfectly healthy golden retriever. I picked him up on Sunday night and he had Kennel Cough, 2 Hot Spots on his head, an ear infection, and an irritated mouth. I warn other dog owners about bringing their dogs to this place. It clearly is not clean and the employees are not paying enough attention to issues as they arise. I then tried to call and speak with the manager about what happened to Levi. I was told the manager was not in and that I would be called back. I then never received a call back from management. They clearly do not care care about customer service either. I will NEVER be bringing my dog back to this place and I warn you about brining your dog here!

We really appreciate the professionalism, especially during this unusual time. Staff were strictly adhering to local health guidance on cleaning, mask wearing, social distancing and asking visitors to doing the same. Our little girl has so much fun and we can tell everyone takes care of her and treats her like she is one of their own. After a full day of play, our Doodle comes home, devours her dinner and sleeps soundly. We can really tell how much it relieves stress for her and gives her the socialization that dogs need. Really cannot imagine bringing her anywhere else!

Everyone is sweet, you can tell they love our animals and they are professional. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and were able to check out the play area from the window in the lobby (also watched the video on their website) and they let us into the suites area since there were no dogs in there. When Ruth stays for the day, she stays in their suite and probably loves the break from Walter. Walter goes into the playgroup with the other pups. They asked for all the vaccinations and will ask for updated vaccines as well, which we love and feel very comfortable with. I was so fortunate to stumble across Precious Pet Car on Yelp! Leila helped me through the whole process of signing up and booking and I was able to schedule a meet-n-greet and book a stay that same morning! Truly such a kind, responsive, and accommodating process. It was my first time ever sending my dog Mochi to a sitter and I was super anxious since he's already 10years old! The meet went even better than expected. The dog area was HUGE and there were so many toys and activity spots for the dogs to play or shaded areas to just rest. Shantae asked about my dog and explained the personalities of the other dogs that would be staying with him and I felt so reassured that Mochi would be just fine. A total bonus that I wasn't expecting was getting picture updates of Mochi having a blast! Seems like the old man got to have a little vacation on his own. Shantae informed me that he whined for a couple minutes after I left, which is normal, and how he got along with the smaller dogs and got to play with the water hose! Such fun surprises to me since he normally ignores little Dogs and water in general! I cannot recommend trusting your fur pets with Leila and her team more!! I was able to celebrate my birthday with ease knowing my dog was in good hands (possibly having more fun than even me!) When I'm down in SD again, I will definitely be utilizing Precious Pet Car services again! Thank you guys so much~

In particular, my dogs are extremely attached as they are used to coming to work with me and generally being around me 24/7, so this type of sitter service was a must! I was given a link to request a meet & greet and schedule the days a sitter was needed in my home and met with my assigned sitter, Kate, prior to my requested days. Ever the worrier about my dogs, cats, birds, and guinea pigs that I would be apart from, Kate handled my bombarding her with information in good stride. During my vacation, I was pleased to see that she sent numerous photos, videos, and updates daily! Kate made me feel completely at ease while I was away and was such a great communicator. Upon my return, all my critters were happy, and the house was neat and clean! Kate made sure to take the trash out and clean up after herself as well. Truly a 5-star experience! I would highly recommend their Golden Overnight Care services to anyone who wants to enjoy peace of mind on their next getaway! Thank you to Leila, Kate, and the entire Precious Pet Care Team!

I'll start by saying I had made a positive review at one point but it appears it has been removed. We had been going to Camp Bow Wow since my pup was 4months old. She was loved by all dogs and people and every time had such a great experience. We were sad when they closed after the previous owner left and were so happy when they reopened. My Beddy was a regular, went at least once a week and boarded multiple times. She was even crowned "Camper of the Month". After we moved further north, we still came about once a week. All that to say we LOVED Camp Bow Wow. I took Beddy to camp to play with her friends on her 2nd birthday in October 2025 and it was an awful experience. We have a yard so I don't need her to have space to run. I specifically took her to camp to play with her friends on her birthday. I got a text about halfway through the day, saying she had been in a "scuffle", was ok but would be rotated between yards due to her high energy. Beddy is always high energy. The team knows this and we had never had an issue. When I went to pick her up, come to find out, she was kept in a separate "yard" almost the entire day. There was no mention of her being aggressive or a danger or unmanageable and yet she was isolated almost all day. I was devastated and Beddy seemed sad when I brought her home, probably because she spent all day trying to figure out why she couldn't play but could "smell the others". Leading up to this, I had noticed lately that there were A LOT more dogs attending camp and the staff was always new/rotating. My guess is yes, my Beddy is high energy but because they are more concerned about the money/numbers, they had too many dogs to handle one that may require some redirection here and there. And my guess is she was kenneled most of the day. Not in some "extra yard" by herself. This is not ok. Especially considering how long we had been going there and had never had an issue. I asked for the owner to call me, she never did. I could understand if Beddy was having an off day, wasn't getting along with the dogs, was a threat...but when I asked if that was the case they said no. She was kept separate to make their job easier because they had too many dogs. Period. Other things to note, they use squirt bottles to redirect dogs and I once saw them pull a dog hard by the collar across the entire yard when it didn't appear there was a major issue (there was no apparent threat). These are not ways I would expect my dog to be handled. On their social media they share posts that are not from their facility which is deceiving and they never asked me for proof of updated vaccines when Beddy's expired. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was a hard day, etc but after the birthday incident we have not been back and I would second guess bringing your dog here.

The facility itself is clean and pretty spacious, and they have an indoor/outdoor play area for the dogs. What really stood out was the initial meet and greet, with a focus on making your dog feel comfortable and assess their temperament. I felt reassured that all the dogs passed this and are properly socialized. My dog has since gone to daycare and really enjoyed himself.
