We have two wonderful pups with very different personalities. Ruth is our 11 year old English Mastiff who loves to sleep and lounge all day and doesn't love being around other dogs. Walter is our new English Bulldog pupperoni (11 months) who loves to be around other dogs, though still learning Ps and Qs. We wanted to find a new daycare for them and came across this lovely place on yelp. I emailed them to set up a visit and they were very nice and accommodating. Everyone is sweet, you can tell they love our animals and they are professional. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and were able to check out the play area from the window in the lobby (also watched the video on their website) and they let us into the suites area since there were no dogs in there. When Ruth stays for the day, she stays in their suite and probably loves the break from Walter. Walter goes into the playgroup with the other pups. They asked for all the vaccinations and will ask for updated vaccines as well, which we love and feel very comfortable with. We know we stay up to date with everything and we want to be sure our pups are around other pups that have everything updated as well. We love the report cards. Especially since Walter is so young, we like to see how he is doing with the other dogs. I added some of the pics from their recent visit. UPDATED REVIEW!!!! I've been bringing my dog to Wags & Ruffs for over a year, and the transformation in his behavior has been nothing short of incredible. When I first rescued him, he was shy, timid, and had a hard time warming up to people and other animals. Thanks to the unwavering love, care, and reassurance from the wonderful staff at Wags & Ruffs, he has really come out of his shell and now loves making new friends and thrives in a social environment. He's made the best of friends there, both with the staff and the other dogs, and it's clear that he looked forward to every visit. Wags & Ruffs also offers amazing enrichment options that you can add to daycare or overnight stays, and my dog absolutely loved them. His favorite activities were snuggle times and outdoor fetch sessions -- it was clear they went the extra mile to make his time there both fun and fulfilling. As I recently moved away from San Diego, the hardest part has been saying goodbye to Wags & Ruffs (for now!). The bond they've created with my dog means the world to me, and I am beyond grateful for everything they've done. They're incredibly communicative and make it so easy to reach out with any questions or concerns. I don't know what they do to these dogs all day, but my little maltipoo rushes that gate every time we return! He can barely contain himself once he realizes we're back for more fun! At other daycares, he suction cups his feet to the ground as soon as they try to take him back, which always broke my heart. Not here though! He can't wait to leave me! Haha...The staff could not be any kinder and clearly my dog feels safe and secure in their hands. I even participated in the mobile teeth cleaning that came through a few months ago, and that was a success too. I know their prices can be a touch above the average for the area, but I think the more personal environment they curate makes it worth it. Their report cards are also the stuff of legends! That $2 extra is worth it people! My only critique, is that, for where they're located, I'm surprised they don't offer a military or comparable discount. That's it. Another fun day for my Gia at Wags & Ruffs! I have been taking her for a few years now and going to see our Wags fam is the best part of Gia's day. She vocalizes her excitement before we even get close and she can't wait to get out of the car and go see her friends. Jen and her team are absolutely WONDERFUL! This review is long overdue but as I am enrolling my dog back in our home daycare, I was reminded that I never shared my feedback which, unfortunately, is in stark contrast to the majority. I brought Rosie here semi regularly in September/October of 2021. My experience here reaffirms my belief that you should never take your dog to a daycare where you can't monitor live camera footage at least part of the day. First red flag: they wouldn't let me tour the facility. In fact, when I asked, the front desk person looked at me like I had two heads. Second red flag: for nearly $40/day, your dog gets no outdoor time. That costs extra. Third red flag: one afternoon when picking Rosie up, I heard a dog who sounded suspiciously like my dog yelp really loudly. When walking to the car, I realized that she was limping hard- like not bearing any weight on one of her legs. I picked her up and went back inside and asked the employee who brought her out if she had accidentally stepped on my 13 lb dog's paw. She flat out said no. Final red flag: The last two times I brought Rosie here, she would start shaking as soon as she saw me get dressed for work. To the staff's credit, they did tell me that she was very nervous and hid under one of the beds all day. That was the final straw. I have no idea what went on behind those "closed doors," but it certainly wasn't the right environment for my dog. If I had to make an educated guess, I assume the space is incredibly small and the dogs aren't separated adequately by size and temperament, and that my normally non confrontational timid dog was subjected to near constant unwanted contact. Not all dogs want to play and rough house so if that sounds like your dog, this probably isn't the place for you. Response to owners comment: my dog went to Dogtopia of Alexandria, VA multiple days a week, including overnight boarding, from 2018-2021 without incident. My dog is not the problem. read more

What a great place! Took my dogs for temperament testing day. They did great. They were happy when they came home. The staff sent a very nice report card on their behavior. After a very traumatic first-ever day care experience in the Bay Area when my dog was a puppy, it's literally taken me years to find a reliable and trustworthy place to send my pup to. My pup has separation anxiety and takes some time to warm up to new environments and the staff is always so patient and nurturing with her. I appreciate the option to add on 1:1 training or pack walks to reinforce positive behaviors -- Julia has been especially great in working with my pup. The cherry on top of our Wags and Ruffs experience is the end of day report card -- it's so rewarding to read about what my pup's been up to, the new pals she made, and that despite being anxious at drop off, she always ends up having a good time. Wags & Ruffs is our favorite place in the world. It's our pups Disneyland! She is always eager and ready to play when she arrives and she comes home happy, and tired. Thee best combo in my opinion. The staff does an amazing job and I can tell treats all doggos equally and as if they were their own. The add-ons like basic enrichment, pack walks, 1-1 time,to name a few, are personally some of my favorites to add-on to Nori's daycare. The charcuterie board add-on is one I'm looking forward to once she turns 1 ;) Nori & 2 of my other pups have also stayed overnight and the staff has done a wonderful job on capturing photos of them while playing, sleeping, and lounging. We brought our dog Friday to try for the first time. The groomer said she knew what she was doing, my girlfriend showed her pictures, she seemed to be confident in the cut. My girlfriend also was shown a board of lengths and she pointed to "in between" the first and second. Our dog was picked up and it seemed very short but we figured it would be okay since it grows back so quickly. Now he is acting weird, hiding, walking funny, etc because of how uncomfortable he is. We really should be getting a refund and maybe they should do a treatment on his skin? This is awful. We've never experienced anything like this. A year later I am back here for an updated review. We have been attending this daycare consistently 2-3 days every week. It is hard to imagine having any kind of relationship with a business that goes smoothly for a year and never has any conflict or problem. Well, that s how I feel about this place. Of course, time to time we needed some extra help with pup, and under special circumstances we needed adjustment on the credit or making last minute changes. Never a problem. And the joy and happiness I see from my pup when he meets the staff is REAL. Dogs don't pretend. Why? Because they try put us first and the business is secondary, because they love our pup sincerely, because they love what they do for real. If I could give Wags & Ruffs a billion stars, I would. A couple years ago, my dog sustained a serious injury at a different daycare facility. For this reason, I was nervous about putting him in another daycare. However, he is very high energy and needed an outlet (walks don't cut it). My friend recommended Wags & Ruff. Wags & Ruff takes such great care of my vocal, rambunctious, sweet pup. They have a lot of patience with him and make him take breaks when he is overexcited. When they have time, they make him sit and stay (patience is not his virtue). I love the daily report cards and the posts on Instagram! We adopted our ~4 y.o husky mix, Rupert, about three months ago. I wanted him to be able to play with dogs in a controlled environment and I'm so glad we found Wags & Ruffs! Their report cards are the best part and I love seeing him happy with all the pups there. We take him a couple times a month to get his dog play fix in :) They have a good amount of big dogs that come through which is great for Rupert because he loves playing with dogs his size, specially the girls! If I could give Wags & Ruffs 10 out of 5 stars I would. This is the best doggy daycare! Jetty is so happy to come every morning and the staff treats her as if she is their own dog which makes me feel so good to leave her everyday. Not only do the staff take good care of her when she's healthy, they go out of their way to help when she's sick, hurt or has a foxtail stuck in her arm that I didn't see. My wife and I love this place and most importantly , our Junie LOVES this place! We have been bringing her here since she was cleared to attend which is over a year ago when she was a wee little laddy. We took her to another daycare locally which is a much bigger operation. They had cameras there and it didn't seem like Junie was enjoying it too much. One time, they had even put her in some box that was really high off the ground which was really odd. We like the fact that Wags & Ruffs keeps it at around 15 dogs. Whenever we drop her off at Wags N Ruffs, she gets a serious case of wiggle butt and can't wait to start playing with her friends! The check in/check out process is super easy and they send out a report card in the afternoon every time your dog is in daycare which includes doggy group photos (amazing, how in the world do they get that many dogs to sit calmly at once?!?!?) and a summary of how your dog's day went! We can see in the photos how happy the little stinker is. Every time Junie comes home, she plops and knocks out for the rest of the day/evening lol...exhausted from wrestling and playing with her pals all day long. The owner Jen is awesome, she always responds quickly and attends to any concerns/questions/scheduling with care and proficiency. All the sitters that I have interacted with have been awesome and seem to be very caring and compassionate which is appreciated. The groomer there is great, we use her for grooming every several months. They also have a bunch of add on options such as training and pack walks which is very convenient. We just recently got a monthly subscription which saves us some money . They have a variety of different options so that you can choose what would fit your dog's needs the best. All in all, this place is a life saver and drastically improves the lives of owners and their dogs alike! 5 stars hands down and thank you to Jen and the crew at Wags N Ruffs for taking great care of all the dogs entrusted to them! read more

I've been to many doggy daycares in town and no where compares to Wags&Ruffs! My dog is there several days a week and cannot wait to get there when she sees where we're heading. Wags and Ruffs is AMAZING! My 2 Goldens love going there. I was taking them to another place that had a large amount of dogs and my youngest golden got labeled as aggressive. I am guessing that he was over stimulated. At W&R, they keep the groups small and my dog is thriving with no issues. I am also taking advantage of their day training. I would absolutely give this business ten stars if available! I do not want to sound so repetitious, but there just aren't words to describe what an amazing place this is. The owner Jen is top-notch, and her entire crew are the very best. My sheltie, Tahnee Rose was spending full days there for a very long time up until September of this year, due to a change in my work schedule. I would not leave her under anyone else's care, period. I could be assured that she was so loved and taken care of every day when I was working. That was worth absolute gold to me. She was so excited each morning when I would drop her off, and everyone loved having her there. She was treated like a little queen. I cannot say enough positive things about wags & ruffs!! I rescued Oslo earlier this year and was a bit worried about his temperament with some other dogs on walks. I decided to bring him to daycare here in hopes of healthy socialization. The staff and pups were so welcoming and quickly set Oslo up for success! Fast forward to now and Oslo loves going to play with the other dogs and staff! They keep you posted with amazing group photos and videos and thorough report cards detailing what your dog has been up to all day and who they have been playing with. It is all so personalized and I know that Oslo is getting one on one attention! You can also pay a small fee to include an individual or pack walk/adventure outside during the day to get your dog outside! I boarded him with wags & ruffs this past weekend and Patrick took him home with the other dogs home to his house with an amazing yard to play! I felt so comfortable knowing he was playing and cuddling at a house with other dogs, as opposed to being boarded in a crate in a building somewhere. The photos and report card updates were extremely thorough and I felt so happy to know Oslo was snuggling with Patrick and his wife on their couch or zooming around outside with the other dogs! They set up comfy beds for the dogs and can customize their stay to make you and your pup super comfortable! As much as I hate to be away from Oslo, I had no doubt he was safe and having a blast and feeling loved!! I can't recommend this place enough!
