This is a terrific spot if you're looking to fish, boat (no gasoline use.), jog, walk, walk your…read moredog, or have a picnic! My husband and I go here to fish! They stock the water with Walleye. Which is pretty hard to find! They have lots of small mouth and big mouth bass, and tons of Blue Gills! The trails for walking, are mostly flat. They do have boat rentals, but not at the moment due to COVID. Should have them available again mid July. Even without a boat, you can fish from the shore or pier just fine. You have to use paddles or a trolling motor as there aren't any gas powered motors allowed. The scenery is beautiful! The price is $4.00 a carload for an all day pass. You are free to come and go as you please.

Very cool sight. There were a lot of great trails including a mile long one around the buffalo area, as well as a fully paved bike trail that goes through the woods. It was a lovely ride. The bathrooms left something to be desired as usually 2/3 toilets were clogged and the hardware in general could use some renovation. There are private showers in the back restrooms which were a nice change but having to continuously hit the water button (and it pauses every time you hit it) was a different, not so pleasant experience. Overall, this was a decent campground, fairly busy. A lot of the large buildings were closed or intended for renting out. There was no nature center. There is a lake which offer paddle and other boats for rent. There is also parking for horse & buggies away from the RV sites. Outside of the horse & buggy and a summer camp area, we never found the primitive camp sites but we didn't exactly go looking for them either.

Very clean and well maintained. Our site is on a slight slope but driving around this morning before all the Friday guests checked in I would say that most of the sites here have some grade but nothing a little bit of blocking won't fix if you can get into the spot. Cell signal I use the one that starts with a "V" is adequate for calls and some data, not sure that streaming a movie during the daytime would be great but music last night streamed just fine. The trails here are nice, well maintained mostly easy, clearly marked and less than a couple miles although the Bloodroot trail is about 12 miles and moderate. We hiked a couple short trails today without any complaints. If you are camping in the back of the modern (electric only) it's a good hike to the trail heads but there are ample places to park if you have the ability to drive to the trail head. The marina "store" sign said is closed this late in the season but about a mile or so down the road is a bait shop with most of what you might have forgot, grocery about 12 miles, American Legion about 20. It appears that DNR goes home at dark and there is no quiet time. 3AM dogs barking loud music and screaming drunks. This park is known for this sort of thing so I was surprised when speaking with a representative of the parks department earlier in the week and they boasted about all the changes that have been made in the recent year. I can say is take your chances. Use special care when booking your campsite especially if you are over 25'. Camp here during the week and pull out before the circus arrives. Otherwise this camp grounds is an epic fail and an embarrassment to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources due to the lack of adequate law enforcement in the evening and night hours.

We actually went way out of our way before figuring out we just needed to be the "thru traffic" and drive through the construction barriers (okay to do to access park). To get to the lake, enter on the west side. It's a great beach area. I very much appreciated that they had the picnic area directly behind the beach (only steps away). This is great for families. You can set up a picnic area & watch the kids swim. They had outhouses available. No lifeguards on duty. Swim at your own risk. We stayed until dusk to watch the sunset. It's worth it! I enjoyed watching all the boats go by too. They have field areas for soccer, etc. and a volleyball nets, piers for swimming. And even a handicap accessible pier! The entire beach is accessible and easy to navigate. A few grills are available to use in the picnic area. There is also a skateboard park in the park but we didn't locate it. There's a marina and camping too. It's really a beautiful park! If you are looking for swimming, boating, or fishing - this is your place! Pack everything you need, because the park is very rural & the nearest store is a Dollar General about 20 mins away. With that being said, an cell signal was also hard to come by.

The archery range has its own parking area through the pine trees. All guests must register at the main office. The area is good for dog walking but I stay close to the parking lot and the surrounding safety envelope. Be aware of hunting season and wear safety orange if you hike to the ponds. The walking swath is loose sandy soil, so use caution. Sandals, flip flops, or open toe shoes not recommended. Pit toilets are near the parking lot.

The property has archery as well as multiple firearms ranges,it also has a couple nice fishing ponds ideal for a family outing/picnic. There is abundant wildlife and hunting can be very good at times. The staff works hard to keep this property clean and safe. Its not a fancy park by any stretch, so if you are used to upper-end KOAs, this is not your place. It appears that lots of locals use this as a summer time or weekend place and leave their campers there, along with full time residents. The lake is small, but a cool swim beach. My wife and I must look like alcoholics, because everyone we met liked to remind us about the rules of open liquor( by the way we don't drink). The camp spot is just grass with water and electric. No gravel pads to camp on, no picnic tables or fire pit on our spot. We were informed by one of the seasonal campers that the speed limit is 3 mph, then they sped away on his golf cart ( golf cart Average speed is 15 mph). We just had a heavy rain here and our camp site was pure mud. Well I guess I just expected more for the premium price to camp and should have just stayed in a hotel. $41.66 a night for a tent site.
