Our bartender was lovely. Super kind, somewhat attentive. We ordered two sets of wings, it took 35 minutes to receive our food and we saw multiple other tables order after and receive their food. I enjoyed the wings. Voodoo is everything you would want in a savory dry rub. Twister was interesting- an italian/parmesan dry rub with a dash of tabasco; my partner disliked it but I loved it. Unique. It was only $12 an order on Wednesday, which was tolerable. At the full $17 this would be an absolute joke. Ranch was also mundane bottled and I got less than one stick of celery for my $.89 up charge to add it. They had adorable mini booths. The place was small, borderline cramped but not quite there yet. Charming. I would come back to try the pasta but the sizes of the dishes weren't impressive. This isn't a bad place- it's just absolutely average for above average prices. read more

We went out to Campanelle with some friends for a night of conversation and great food. It was a Thursday evening, and the place wasn't too packed at 5pm. This was our first time trying it, and we're glad we stopped in! Rachel was our waitress. She did a fantastic job; she was extremely friendly and made sure we were topped with drinks and good with food. We started with a couple of appetizers, the pickle fries and fried meatballs. The apps were amazing! All of us had a little something different for food. The baked pasta was incredible. The Supreme Italian had a little kick, plenty of meat and flavor, and filling. My dinner last night was super sad. The staff was friendly, and I got a to go order to being back to my hotel. Roast beef sandwich and the chips/dip appetizer. The sandwich was edible, but super dry with no condiments. The pepperoncinis gave it enough moisture to go down my throat, but not super enjoyable overall. The chips/dip however was unedible. I think there was as much salt as there were potatoes by weight. I tried digging through the chips to see if maybe the first couple just got too much salt somehow, but I couldn't find any that were edible so I just threw all of it away. read more

We went here for lunch today. Been wanting to try this place for a while now and did today. It is a nice place, not fancy but inviting. We ordered Meatball skillet, Pineapple Chicken skillet and Lemon Chicken skillet. Everything was very good. Each skillet had their own noodles in a cheesy sauce with the topping and cheese on that. Then put under broiler to crisp and melt the cheese. There are daily specials which is nice. We hope to try it again sometime soon. read more

Immediately when we walked in, we talked to the owner, Kent, who told us all about this fabulous small business. He was out in the restaurant talking with guests and checking on theme the entire time. Their Campanelle noodles are made daily in house. Gluten free cauliflower crust was highly recommended so will be my next order. Cheese sauce is made daily with cheese they shred themselves to ensure it melts correctly. I ordered the GF BBQ pasta skillet with the pulled pork. I tend to shy away from pulled pork unless they have a good reputation for it... it's usually either grisly or not flavorful. This pulled pork was delicious and stood up to the rich cheese sauce/BBQ sauce and onions/pickles. Yes... pickles in a pasta bake. Never would have thought to try it but it was almost like a rich cheesy pulled pork sandwich (a little light in the pork but I didn't miss it really). The BBQ was perfect - not too sweet but rich and flavorful to perfectly compliment the pasta. My husband ordered the Chicago dogs which is his favorite thing to eat when out even though it's hard to find a truly great one. He said that it was hands down better than Portillos and a really good dog that you don't have to trek to Mpls or St Paul to get. The kids got chicken fingers with tots and the baked Mac and cheese. I can't trust their account of their food since they love Kraft over homemade but my husband stated the tots were amazing with the cheese sauce (made in house) and the Mac and cheese bake was phenomenal. I definitely recommend giving this local small business a shot to support a local business owner. He and his two sons both work in the restaurant and clearly love what they do. No, we did not have campanelle pasta today for lunch, but we all had awesome meals! We all had their lunch skillet specials (which were wonderful & filling!) as well as some local craft tap brews (Clown Shoes & Orange Ave). The lunch special of Italian Roast Beef Sandwich with a side of tater tots was authentic and filling! The giardiniera (either on the side or topped) added to the flavor of the roast beef. I tried the Hot Italiano Melt....and mmmmm, I did melt! It was the perfect blend of Italian sausage, seasoned ground beef, marinara and a special 5 cheese sauce! This is topped off in the skillet with a pepperoncini and toasted ciabatta roll. I also appreciated the small side of crispy tater tots...not a pound of fried tots but a small, appropriate amount! Greeted right away by the owner himself. Huge menu, the specialty selection of pasta skillets was full of variety. I got the Chicken Parm skillet (9/10) recommenced by our attentive server Sara, my friend got the Hawaiian flatbread (9/10) atmosphere was good, clean, warm and comfy. At the end of the night, 45 minutes before they closed, I watched the owner himself help the server roll silverware. Overall, it was a very home town, great food, LITERALLY owner operated restaurant. What a great find! Dined here last night with 6 adults and 3 kids and we had a fantastic evening! Freshly made pasta (each morning) dishes were real winners...creative baked entrees were large, hot and tasty. Hotdogs were real Chicago style. Flatbreads awesome! The fries are yummy and seasoned with sea salt. Nice beer selection as well. We will be returning...staff was very friendly ( we had Kenzie, and she was pleasant and helpful) and the owner gave the little ones rubber duckies to keep them amused. Tried this place out for the first time - food was great and drinks were even better. Both of the baked pastas we got were wonderful. We tried their beer, mixed drinks, and wine - all were good and we will be coming back for more. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the waitress brought us cheesy bread that we didn't order. We assumed it came with the meal and then saw an additional $7.99 on our check. We didn't say anything since we had eaten it, but still frustrating to pay for the waitress's mistake. Although, I would recommend the cheesy bread too! read more

We ordered curbside takeout on a Saturday night. Food was alright, management was terrible. There was ONE person working. Someone else waiting for their food asked if they were short-staffed, but the person working said they "only have one person working now that they are takeout only"?? For curbside takeout, you have to call the restaurant. Well, no one was answering the phones so I went inside. There were 4 people waiting for their orders inside at one point (they were running 30 MINUTES behind), but then someone new would come in and THEIR order would be ready. Then the worker would take a phone call every now and then and run a curbside order out. There appeared to be NO rhyme or reason to which order would get delivered when. I get that it's COVID. I understand if no one shows up for their shift. What I DON'T get is that on a Saturday night, only ONE person is scheduled to work. ON PURPOSE. The space is big enough to have one person taking the phone calls and one person running out the orders, so "enforcing social distancing" is not a valid excuse (besides, they had all their waiting area chairs right next to each other and had a sign about how they were FORCED to only do takeout, and there was "crime scene" tape on the bar with "WALZ" written on it. Very classy). DON'T offer curbside pickup if you don't have anyone to bring the orders out. DON'T schedule one person to do everything on a Saturday night. The icing on the cake was that the fried pickles were so hot that they MELTED THE STYROFOAM container they were put in. Cool thanks. Food was alright, but not extraordinary or worth the wait. If this new business wants to stay open they need to fix their management. I don't normally write public reviews (especially negative ones), but I am so ticked off about this experience, and I figured any sort of private complaint to management would have been ignored. This was our second trip on Mother's Day this year. Yes I know Mother's Day is a crazy day to go out and it wasn't something I really wanted to do however I digress. When we got there the parking lot was relatively empty. Once we got in it took forever to get seated I don't know why. There is no one waiting ahead of us. I might add we had our 2-year-old grandson with us. After the 15 minute wait to get seated, we realize that in order to serve seven of us they had to put us at a high top table which when you are 69 years old and have multiple knee surgeries and a back surgery, it's pretty hard to sit in one but okay. There are only three to maybe four tables that were seated with people already. One table had two people and so on. Not one table had more than four people. It took forever to get the waitress to come over and just take our drink order. Then we had to signal her after waiting 30 minutes to take our food order meanwhile our drink orders still had not come out. All I know customer service was absolutely terrible that day. The I don't know owner, manager maybe? Was supposed to be behind the bar helping the 1 waitress that was working that day! Which on Mother's Day was ludicrous! After we came in the place started to fill up. However after she finally, finally came back to take her food order she stopped at the three other tables that came in way after us, and took their order first putting us at the back of three other tables who had come in a half hour after us. All in all we spent two and a half hours there which was really stupid! It took us 30 minutes to get the damn check. I had to signal her three different times to let me pay so we could get the seven of us out of there as the grandbaby was beyond all control. What little kid can sit there for over 2 hours and eat? I got to the point where I let him get out of his high chair and start to cause problems in the restaurant by playing with stuff at the empty tables. Finally she came over because she was irritated that he was playing with it. Which was my plan all along. I figured if I let him run wild they would finally notice us and let us get the heck out! I wasn't even going to leave her a tip however I only left her 10% which is way lower than I normally would. I don't know what the heck was going on there that day but you can't have 1 waitress on a busy day and with no one to run the bar area so she was doing double duty. But I must say she's what I would consider a one trick pony. There's no way that girl could multitask and that was half of the problem right there. However if the guy who was supposed to be helping her would have actually got behind the dang bar and actually helped her, none of that would have happened. Never going back except to maybe have lunch when there's no one else around. Or if it's a busy day like Father's Day, I'll do take out only. Someone needs to manage that place better is all I can say. read more
