He did a quick preliminary diagnosis and gave me a fair quote for the alternator parts and labor. A few hours later, instead of just doing the expensive repair, he called me and explained that the alternator was actually fine -- the real problem was a wire that was shorting out and causing the symptoms. The repair ended up costing significantly less than expected because they were honest enough to fix the actual issue instead of replacing parts I didn't need. I also had them change the fluids and filters while it was there. He said it looked like my spark plugs needed changing as well. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. It's hard to find shops that are this honest and transparent these days. Highly recommend Total Care Transmissions for their integrity, communication, and quality work.

Very disappointed with dealing with Benny the owner over a repair of my flywheel. I asked to have…read morethe seals replaced since he was removing the transmission. His guys in putting the transmission back pinched the alternator wire and ignition wire between the tranny and block which shorted my system and damaged the alternator. I had it repaired after he told me it wasn't him, so I took it to be repaired to find out it was them he refused to pay repair bill and said to take him to court. Also transmission still leaks after taking it back the second time. It didn't leak when I originally took it to him. They don't take responsibly for the damage they create. I would never recommend to anyone.

They followed up very often and were upfront with the repair cost and the inspections. I paid close to $300 for an 02 sensor replacement that i was told would fix the p0172 error code that gave me a check engine light. I even got to pick up my car the same day since it was a quick fix. I get home and drove not even 2 miles and boom, the check engine light comes on. When i use my OBD scanner to see why, it WAS THE SAME ERROR CODE i went into their auto shop to get fixed. My worst assumption is that they just unplugged my car battery and said they fixed it. ( doing that will reset codes and they wont get picked up for a while from obd scans ) Very sad thanksgiving surprise.

To make matters worse, I'm currently dealing with a custody battle after catching my girlfriend cheating with my cousin, so my stress level was already at about a 12 out of 10. Finally got my car back and started driving home. The car started shaking. At first, I figured it was just my stomach because I'd been battling diarrhea all day. A few minutes later I realized it wasn't my stomach--my car was dripping fluids everywhere like it had just signed a sponsorship deal with Tuli Drip. Then the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Every warning light imaginable was on. At that point, I was convinced my Envista was preparing for liftoff. I couldn't drive it, so I called a tow truck and got hauled back to the dealership. Of course, by the time I got there, the shop was closed. The next morning they inspected it and delivered the shocking diagnosis: "It was just your gas cap." Apparently, I didn't have it on properly when I started driving. So after 5 hours at the shop, a panic attack, a tow truck ride, an overnight stay, and enough dashboard lights to decorate a neighborhood, the culprit was... a gas cap.

In removing the parts they broke my exhaust and when they put the car back together, most of the bolts were loose. Differential cover had half the bolts loose and leaked. Transfer case was leaking and they left the drain plug loose. The rear main is leaking and they didn't bother fixing it while the tranny was removed. And all fluids ( transfer case, differential, and tranny) which they claim they fixed, were low! I don't recommend taking your car unless you want more problems.
