Best public course around, by far. You will not find greens better than these for the price point- there are memberships as they are actually semi-private however there is a long wait list. I've heard complaints about the wait list but memberships are limited in order to save tee times for the public- so not sure why people are so upset! Play here if you get a chance, it's a very busy course so keep up with the pace of play and you will have no issues! read more

Nice well maintained course. The staff are friendly and organized. The fairways were reasonably challenging.

I've only been golfing for the last two years and across just a few courses in the area, but this course is by far the most forgiving and well maintained. I'm still in the learning phase so this course has been great for learning to hit, chip, putt and just understand the game of golf in general. I've noticed other courses in the area with very rough greens and muddy patches throughout but Campbell's seems to work hard to prevent this and I appreciate it as I often end up off the greens! The staff has always been helpful when my questions inevitably come up and the bar and grill is always a great spot to hit up before I play a round. My only complaint would be inconsistent cart path controls (or GPS?), a few times my cart has stopped and requested that I return to the cart path when I am very clearly on it but that has been few and far between in my two years of playing here. read more

Avoid this course at all costs. Booked a tee time for 18 holes, came to the turn and two 5-somes and a 4-some were put out in front of us. No apology from the pro shop, told me we played faster than they thought. Are you kidding me!!! Had to cancel the second nine and they wanted to give me a rain check instead of refund. After arguing got the refund because I knew I was never coming back. Starter outside was sympathetic but had no control. Inside pro shop and managers could not care less. Again, spend your golf money elsewhere not here. read more

My family had a wonderful evening and the course is truly beautiful (from a woman's eye). It was my youngest first time on any course and he was so excited. Big moment! We picked the evening and check in was fantastic. Quick, smooth, and ready to go on tee time. On the 8th hole my cart died. I politely asked a gentlemen aka greensman Don to take care of the cart and the rest of my family would finish the 8th hole and head up. This is when the amazing day we were having went south. He got angry and demanded we head to the clubhouse. He said he didn't want to push the cart and it was getting late. We had 18 minutes left to get to the clubhouse by 8:30. I told him I wanted to finish the golf game with my family. He yelled in front of my children. They cried. It was awful. He sat in his golf cart and yelled and demanded we go back right at that moment. My husband was like we paid for 9 holes and will be back by 8:30. He said that's not possible your cart is dead you need to go back now!! He said wouldn't leave us alone. It was horrible. If you come the staff besides Don are wonderful and the course is beautiful but beware of bringing kids and encountering an angry old man. I'm old myself but seriously it was actually scary and my kids are still upset. read more

Been going there for 10 years Twilight is a mess They make you bring the cart in by 8 when it's light until 815..they send the ranger out to bring you in even if you're on the last hole, but they are never ever out on the course moving slow groups along. No more for us...we'll go to a course that cares about the golfers and not going home at 8. That's 8 of us, every week. Sad to see. read more

First let me make clear, I don't rate on how I played. I played terrible!! Lol So first of all, the golf course was a great design for beginner and intermediate golfers. It is kind of short so low handicappers and long hitters may find it a bit boring and not so challenging. Second the scenery was beautiful, and thirdly the people were outstanding, very helpful and accommodating. We had some car trouble and was running late for our tee time and the woman inside was very helpful. Some maintenance had been done recently so the greens were not as good as they could be, but maintenance is normal at every golf course and needs to be done to keep greens healthy. read more

Used to enjoy playing here. Course is well maintained, however staff is rude and unaccommodating. Recent price increases have made it just as expensive, if not more pricey than other similar courses in the area. Rangers are a bunch of old wise guys with zero customer service skills. Never play this course at twilight, especially with a cart. You will never finish 9 holes and the cart nazi rangers will be making you return the cart, even if you are hitting your second shot on the 9th hole. Waste of $37. read more

Overall the course was great! No complaints there! The greens could have been in a bit better shape. I'm giving this course 1 star because of the starter that harassed my group all day. It started on hole 1 when he came flying over to our group as we are about to tee off to see if we paid. We had literally all just spoken with him 5 minutes before and showed our receipts. We told him that and he said he needed to see them again. Whatever. It then got worse when we were teeing off hole 10. We mistakenly drove up next to the white tees instead of the tips where we were playing from. So from the cart path we made a tight u-turn onto the grass and then back onto the cart path. We did not come anywhere close to the tee boxes (at least 15 yards away). He came flying over yelling at us for driving on the grass with our cart. Yes, driving on the grass. I took it on the chin and apologized and said we mistakenly drove to the wrong tees. He then responded by saying "have you ever played golf before?". Again I just bit my tongue and apologized. We were nothing but professional, paying customers who were treated with completed disrespect. We definitely will not be going back because of this one individual who took the joy out of our day. You go on this site to determine the best place to go or GOLF. So don't take this review lightly, this is the worst managed golf course I have ever played. I have been golfing for over 40 years. The round took over 5 hours, that wouldn't be bad on such a nice day, but it gets worse. At the turn, they put a foursome in between our two groups. When we asked the starter, he blamed it on the pro shop. I called the pro shop and they couldn't care less, they just wanted the money. Do yourself a favor do not play here, so many options in the area, do not go here!!! read more

I'm a golf beginner, but I think the the course is lovely and well-maintained. This seems to be the consensus among the regulars who frequent the course. The driving range is also very nice, and it has both putting and chipping practice areas as well. I also love the Bar and Grille. It has a wonderful patio overlooking the course, and the food is prepared with fresh ingredients, many of which are grown on the property. It's picturesque location for personal or business lunches, or even afternoon cocktails. read more

Golf course is always well maintained. Not an incredibly difficult course, but it's fun to play since you really don't get into too much trouble since each fairway isn't lined with trees. Shot my lowest score ever at this course, which could be expected because of the lack of trees. Green area always in great shape too! Also, they always have great deals on golf. Played there on a Monday for $49 and got 18 holes of golf, with a cart AND lunch! Not too shabby! Played on a Tuesday 18 holes for $32 bucks. And they have weeknight twilight deals after 6pm for $15. Plenty of time to get in 9 holes. Check out Scottish Highlands, it's a really fun course to play, and you can shoot a pretty low golf score here! :-) read more

I have to take a star away as the greens are in poor shape. They are blotchy with apparent diseased grasses, and there are many bare spots to boot. But it looks like they roll them regularly for a relatively true ball roll, albeit a fast ball roll. I still love playing here as it is a fun course. If they can bring the greens back, they'll get the 4th star back as well. read more

Great course!! I was in town for a few days for a training class so i got the chance to play this course 3 times (going again this evening for a 4th). Each time it was 6pm (twilight rate of $15) and the course was still populated with people. The tee boxes, the fairways, and the greens were all very green, plush, and very well maintained! My only gripe is that the rough is ROUGH!! So if you miss the fairway, it may take you a while to find your ball...IF you find it! Highly recommend this track! read more

Played last weekend. The guy we played with paid $42 and we paid $68. 2pm tee time. The golf shop would not accommodate us with the after 2pm rate. Completely terrible service and they ripped us off with a smile. Do not play here or trust their after 2pm rate deal on weekends. That was the last time for me and all the guys I play with. Started off with a wise comment by the starter which I found unnecessary. The customer service isn't anything to brag about including the staff at the bar. Very slow and unattentive. The course was over crowded with players, and the ranger did nothing to expedite the play especially people looking to balls. Greens were very inconsistent and I wait mostly every hole. Weird layout & wow -- is this place pricy. Beautifully maintained course, but $39 for 9 holes w/ cart is a little pricey for a small course. Also, the holes are all inter-mingled with each other and real close together. I've never heard 'fore' yelled so many times. I like this layout. It is always in good conditon. The greens are smooth but not so fast that you can't putt them. You can score here but there is trouble if you make a mistake. The clubhouse serves various wraps and sandwiches which are custom made to your liking. read more

For any complaints from other reviews they must have played bad, as fair as the guy complaining about no water on the course many courses have had to do that because of liability, all you have to do is be responsible and come prepared. This is a pretty easy, flat course with a few interesting doglegs and huge greens, but not much else to make it seem like a "links style" course, as they call it. Very little of the rough is unplayable, the fairways are really flat, and the course isn't that long. Fairways and greens were in really good shape. read more

The course itself is probably more a 4 star rating but today (monday special) I played 18 holes with a cart plus a free lunch (sandwhich, chips, and drink) for $49. The experience I would rate as 2-4. being a fairly short course you get alot of women playing here,and old curmudgeonly slow duffers that don't give a rat's behind who they're slowing down.It's also slightly pricey. The course itself is in very nice condition considering the lack of rain. However the golfers especially at night at terrible. They have no clue how to play and no desire to "move along" as required. I spoke to the owner about this and she promised that her rangers would be staying later to address the issue but that just has not happened. This course is what I classify as a very "fair" course for the mid-level handicapper - you are generally rewarded for keeping your ball in the fairway. I noticed one of the reviews from 2009 mentioned little of rough is unplayable - probably depends on the player, but certainly there is deeper rough to be found in Oct/2011 which is very demanding. Just enough water,doglegs, sand, and undulations on greens to make things interesting, and to keep the driver in the bag on certain holes. I think the more one plays this layout the "easier" it may become. I just played my 4th round (in 2 years..) and broke 90 for first time on this course (83!!) - the course was a bit soft from all the rain thus the greens played easier than in the past, though they had interesting nuances. A firm putt is required this time of year; I had 4-5 putts tail off an inch to either side of the cup which caused me to pull hair out in clumps. I was terribly disappointed in the Scottish Highlands Golf course experience in spite of the glowing reviews I read. Other than the charming, chatty woman, Joan, who checked us in, the starter and the ranger were curt rather than courteous. But mor important was the most glaring problem - that on this beautiful, sunny, warm, dry day there was no water on the course. The lack of available water to drink is more than an annoyance, it's a health hazard for players and the reason our foursome will not return to play here again. read more

honestly, nothing really stood out to me about this course. 3 star layout, 3.5 star conditions. there was one crazy long par 4 on the front that was super downhill that was kind of wild. i preferred the back to the front (front feels a little compacted... i nearly got drilled by a drive from a neighboring hole). facilities were nice enough. a good course with a couple of standout holes, i guess. nothing to write home about. read more

What a great find! I have played several courses in the Merrimack Valley and this one could be the best. The clubhouse is nice and the people all seem very friendly. I have had both breakfast and lunch there before and after my round and it was great. The food and drink prices are very fair. The pro shop itself is decent and the people were very friendly. Again the price is fair. On to the important details though is the course. It was in very good condition! A fun layout with a blend of easy and tough holes. The par 5s are long and not really reachable in 2. A couple of the par 4s are also pretty long. There are a few doglegs which I don't usually like, but they are OK. The greens are in good shape and very tricky. Stay BELOW the hole! The pace of play is OK, over 4 hours but less than 4.5 hours. A range is out and active and that is a good thing. There is NO water set out on the course which does suck, but there is a beverage cart and at least on the back 9 every three holes puts you back at the clubhouse where you can get water. This is a great course, give it a shot and enjoy yourself! read more
