I don't know why I haven't reviewed them yet. I have been here more than 5 times already. First let's talk about the food. I have ordered everything from pupusas to the chicken to the tacos. I have never had a bad meal. The spicy sauces that they give you on the side are a plus. The service has always been great. Not one bad experience there. Lastly the ambiance. You may sit and eat or order take out. They have quite a few tables and booths for seating. They also have a small convenience store section where you may grab a few Latin snacks and sweets. This place is soooooo freaking good! first time I came to try the chicken special which costed around $35-$40. It included a whole chicken, 3 large sides and a 2 liter drink ( I wish it could be 4 cans or the 2 liter with diet drinks options though). We got the yellow rice black beans, steak fries and salad. Birria Tacos - Generous on the meat, had good flavor, and was moist when dipped with the birria sauce. The tacos had a lot of cheese in a good way. The outside of the tacos were crispy and had a delicious crunch. I would describe it as a "fried" soft taco shell. The red "spicy" sauce included tasted almost like nothing and was hardly spicy. They had additional toppings like cucumber but it would be nice if they included more so that there would be enough for 1 per taco. 1 slice of lime for 4 tacos also was not enough. The atmosphere inside was great, felt like a authentic family owned restaurant. Good music, decorations, and even a street fighter arcade machine. The restaurant as a whole didn't feel super clean, but the tables and chairs were clean and the kitchen didn't look dirty. Employees were friendly and service was fast. Price was average, with the taco Tuesday deal, it came out to $15 for 4 tacos (afterward I realized its the same price for 4 normal tacos). Not the best tacos i've had for this price but not unreasonable. Was surprised to see a 4% service fee charged when food is ordered at a register and there is an option to tip. Overall, very flavorful tacos and I would come here again if I was craving tacos while in the area. read more

So glad we found this place! The chicken is fabulous, smoky and flavorful! Hubby had a chicken burrito and I had steak baleados. I loved my dish and plan on trying it with chicken next time. It is kind of like a hybrid between a quesadilla and a large taco, with meat, cheese, bean and egg. It was enough for two meals, I will enjoy the second half for tomorrow's lunch. There are a bunch of things on the menu I want to try as well. Their creamy sauce has a good amount of kick, be warned! I enjoyed that they had guava jarritos available as that is my favorite flavor. The prices are appropriate for a two-meal dish but might be a little high for an everyday lunch if you eat it all at once. There are plenty of tables to dine in, but it isn't an ambience kind of place if that bothers you. All in all though, I love the food and suspect I will be here often. I'm probably one of Campestre's most loyal customers, and I have tried so many of their food items since they opened their location in Beltsville. My absolute favorite menu item of theirs is the shrimp fajita platter. It comes with jumbo-sized shrimp, peppers and onions, two small tortilla rolls, and two sides. I always get rice and black beans as my side, and I also add the spicy orange sauce for like $0.75 cents more. If I don't order the fajita platter, I usually go for the shrimp burrito which is very filling. Their shrimp tacos are also really good, and I only get those when I don't want something too filling like the burrito or fajita platter. Overall, Campestre's food is very good, especially the rice! It's so flavorful, and I don't come across rice this tasty too often. read more

Imagine flour tortillas with your choice of chicken or steak stuffed with cheese, black beans and pan-fried eggs served with sour cream and pick de gallo. If that is not tantalizing enough to the senses, imagine the impact the tender steak adds in between the tortillas! The meal may be listed as an appetizer but it's a full meal. There are no homemade drinks here but the cakes are fresh. I had the Pina Colada rum cake to go and it was delicious. I was in the area for work and stumbled across Campestre and I'm glad I did! Everything was fantastic: great food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. The polla a la brasa was amazing - one of the best I've had. Moist, great flavor, good-sized serving. The yucca was fresh and fried perfectly - nice and crisp and not oily at all. I really should have checked out this nearby shop before, but one of the reviews claimed they have better chicken than Sardi's, which I found hard to believe. Spoiler alert: they do. This hidden gem is tucked in the far end of the Maryland Farms shopping center, just inside PG County. It's a single slot in the building, counter service and a dozen or so tables if you can't wait to take the food home. Minimal selection of beverages, no alcohol. Beyond the chicken the menu could be called pan-Latino, fajitas, tacos, burritos, quesadillos, papusas. I went with a half chicken dinner and grabbed an Arizona iced tea from the cooler. Excellent chicken! Fully cooked but tender and juicy, richly marinated and smoky. $8.99 with two sides. The cole slaw was standard, the black beans very good (full disclosure, a family run Cuban restaurant 40 years ago set my bar for black beans very high). Plenty of free parking, courteous service. A traffic light is being installed at the shopping center entry which should make getting in and out a lot safer. I visited this location after browsing on google for a while for a place with "steak fries" and a steak and cheese sub, and I got exactly that at Campestre Chicken, it's located a little past tech road, where the Popeyes is. I ordered about 15 minutes prior to leaving my house and my food was ready, warm and smelled absolutely delicious. For a steak and cheese sub and steak fries the total was $9 and it was a huge serving. Due to Covid-19, there were lines on the ground to remember to keep distance, i think they only allow about 4-5 people inside at a time, so be mindful of this. Staff was friendly and professional as well. The sub came with lettuce, grilled onions & green peppers, and cheese ofcourse (not a fan of tomatoes so i passed on that). The sub was pretty good, i think next time i May try it without the green peppers to see. The fries were delicious. I would come for the fries and sauces, alone. They also have many items on the menu such as chicken, tacos, quesadillas etc. definitely worth checking out! Also make sure you try their sauces! This spot genuinely hurt my heart. I LOVE El Salvadorian food( who am I kidding, I love all food!) Lol I've eaten lots of homemade El Sa food, so I thought I'd be in for a pleasurable experience to make great leftovers for the next day. since I'd already ordered Caribbean food from the same strip Plaza, a few doors dwn . maybe I'd even turn it into a smorgasborg night to try a little bit all at once! But this place, no me gusta. Id been looking for a good El-Sa fix and thought I found one in this little Multicultural strip mall in Hyattsville/Beltsville, or wherever the hell I wandered to that night.( I will literally drive most any and everywhere just for food) I tried another restaurant there as well, (also reviewed)and neither neither were good. That whole evening was a major bust. I got the grilled shrimp salad or at least that's what I asked for, but once I made it home I realized I was given grilled shrimp over peppers, not over salad, I had no rice, (this part being my mistake ),with addtl mixed veggies as well as a side of curtido. The shrimp were a lil overcooked and lacked flavor, needing time on the grill, or seasoning or something... But at least they were fresh. That part I appreciate. My veggies however, were clearly the kind you get frozen in a bag, but the LOW quality close out kind, from the really cheap grocery stores that taste waterlogged even right outta the bag, like they've been stored, thawed, and transported at improper temperature levels. No fresh crispness to them, no snap, no flavor at all, just bad. Imagine a garden full of veggies that you pick perfectly fresh, but you just throw them straight into the freezer where they sit for two years in a ziplock bag, only to be taken out later and served up as a side dish. If you didn't blanch them first, they have lost their color, they have lost all their vitamins, and you have essentially just murdered a batch of beautiful fresh vegetables. That's what these reminded me of Veg Medley DOA. Even the mass of peppers and onions underneath the shrimp had flatlined. The curtido, which is basically like Central American coleslaw without the Mayo, and substituted with a vinegary or red wine kind of base instead, didn't taste authentic. And that really broke my heart, because she gave me a huge ass mound of it. I ended up throwing all the veggies away after a couple bites, completely reseasoning the curtido, and throwing the shrimp back into the oven with some seasoning on it once I got home. Everything was a mess. Which is really unfortunate, because the lady at the counter was so cool. The pictures look good...Because Samsung is the shit and iPhone sucks! LOL.
