An ABSOLUTE favorite of mine!! I will go here at anytime of the day just invite me!!! They offer parking in the front and in the back, for free. It's right on RT1 so you'll be turning directly into the parking lot in front or the driveway to take you to the back. The wait staff is so nice and helpful, especially at the bar. I made a return visit to this place after not having eaten here for several years. I stopped going because of the flies. The food was great but having to constantly bad and swat flys annoyed and bothered me. I drive by this place alone and the day I decided to stop was because I was craving mexican food. There was one a couple there so not crowded at all. Plus it was around 4pm quite early for happy hour and dinner. I sat at the bar and service was fast. I ordered a drink and an appetizer thinking I'll order my main meal to go. The drink was strong and the appetizer, a tamale, was just okay. Unfortunately, I was swatting flys the whole time I was there, the same reason I stopped going before. I finished my drink and asked for the check without ordering a meal. I just wanted to get out of there but before leaving I suggested to the bartender that the owner should invest in some Zevio traps or something to help with their fly problem. read more

We went there for a birthday celebration on June 15th because it is one of our favorite restaurants for Mexican food. The first thing that threw us off was no alcohol. I asked the server - no wine, beer, or cocktails? Nope, but she didn't know why. She tried her best, but she clearly was not familiar with the menu or food. Fantastic and affordable brunch experience. It was $30 per person, including soft drinks and desserts. Food options are plenty; don't be surprised if new items are added in the middle of the service. The seafood soup and the paella were delicious, as well as the mushroom steak--classic brunch items like waffles, pancakes, and omelet stations available as well. The entertainer was singing classic Spanish love songs the whole time. He was not loud, mellow background music; he was charming. Not bad but not great. We ordered the steak fajitas and the chicken enchiladas (but they gave us pork enchiladas by mistake). Unplanned visit to Azteca. I had a different restaurant in mind, but it was closed. Than wen to another restaurant near Azteca and that restaurant had a 45 minutes waiting list. I decided to dine in Azteca college park. I must say I was very skeptical about this restaurant based on what I heard about it. I was pleasantly surprised. The service could not be better. The owner and staff always checked on us and if we asked for something, They handled it right away. The seafood Enchiladas were very tasty. It was a good portion as well. Fantastic food and drink. My jalapeño margarita was spicy and delish. As was my frozen mango margarita. All with fresh ingredients. Johnny was not only our most attentive server, but he also made our drinks. My T-bone steak was cooked to perfection. My friend's pork chops-perfect. Overall - a decent place that you can't go wrong with but don't expect your socks knocked off. Needed a place for dinner on a Saturday night and came across Azteca Restaurant. We arrived around 8pm, there was plenty of seating in the large restaurant and we were seated quickly. We were provided a food menu and a drinks menu. One thing that gets me is when there are no prices on the drink menus. My husband and I ordered a single house margarita and it was huge when it came out. Our server didn't speak much English, so didn't ask if this was normal or a double. Did note that other drinks were in smaller cups but were possibly flavored margs versus the house marg. Either way, the mix was delicious. I'm not always a fan of the house margs but man, I couldn't stop sipping on this one. We also got free chips and a liquidy salsa at the table. For dinner, we opted to split the fajitas de res. The food came out quickly and we were shocked by the size of the food. Normally we split the $24 fajitas and take some home or at least have tons of excess rice and beans - not here, there was little of everything. While there was a nice amount of meat, it was cut in huge chunks and we had to cut it in to smaller pieces. The meat also only came with a few sauteed onions - no peppers or other veggies. We were also only given 3 flour tortillas even though the menu says you get 4. Did we have enough toppings for 4? Debateable. The marg was $13 which was on the high end but fair enough. Our bill for the two items was $39. Overall the experience was fine and I wouldn't be against going back if hungry and in the area again. Drove by for another to-go order in months. There was a decorated Christmas Tree in the hallway. Ordered an appetizer and two combos. To-go was ready in about 20 minutes. I bought a Groupon pre-pandemic for Azteca, but never had a chance to use it until recently. Since it expired, the value was half the price of the discount, but when I presented it to our server, Sara, she offered to honor the entire price of the Groupon. Very nice! We ordered Enchiladas de Pollo and a Combo Meal No. 2. It was noon on a weekday, so they weren't too busy, and I noticed they have a decent lunch buffet station. Our service was great, and the food was decent, not great. The enchiladas were tasty and plentiful, with rice and beans. Unfortunately, there was a surprise in my lunch.......which brings this down to a three-star review. I dropped in on an early Monday evening for take-out and had a drink while I waited. They have some pretty awesome menu items and it was quite difficult for me to chose. I opted for the veggie chimichanga. I ordered a margarita, snacked on some chips and delicious salsa and enjoyed the wait. I know there have been mixed reviews about this place. However, it's a good spot for drinks, coming from a non drinker lol. The ambiance was cool you can dine or go to the bar area. There is a dj who comes later in the evening so feel free to cut a rug but it's cool and hip. The menu had a bunch on specials during my visit. Tacos are more of a Tex mex style and are served on a flour tortilla even though this place as well as every other Mexican restaurant claims to be "authentic". Lol. Not a worry we loved them. Price is high 3 tacos for over $20. Margs were good but seemed a bit rushed. I barely had any sugar around my rim to the point where I thought they completely forgot about the sugar. (I grew up in a restaurant so forgive me for the harsh food reviews I have high standards when it comes to food I'm not trying to be rude just being honest) BUT the reason I left a 1 star review is because this place stole money from me. The receipt clearly states that the restaurant may add gratuity for parties of FIVE OR MORE. So I was completely shocked when I went to add my tip and saw the line said "additional tip". The server straight up added her own tip to my check. And I can tell she was hoping that I wouldn't notice and give her an additional tip on top of that. This is completely illegal sadly and left a very bad taste in my mouth. It was a party of two you can not add gratuity, unfortunately for her we ALWAYS tip exceptional because we are BOTH servers.... The neon sign that says "lunch buffet" is still lit up but it no longer exists. The 2 menu items we had were okay but not worth the price. We would go back if they resumed the buffet. There is only one menu. It's the dinner menu (with dinner prices) even though we were there for lunch. Someone's review said there was no alcohol in the margarita. That is definitely not true! Ate here on 1/15/23. We were greeted as best as possible. Restaurant is a typical Mexican establishment with decor and Latin music playing through the speakers. Many of the staff don't understand English so they use the menu (pictures) to communicate. We ordered the whole Black Bass, it comes with grilled shrimp, peppers/onions/zucchini/squash and a side of white rice. There's a light sauce drizzled on top which sets the flavors off. The whole talipia with salad, rice and beans left my tastbuds looking for more flavor. I tried my fiances Blavk Bass and wanted to send my meal back his tasted so good. The ceviche was just "ok" we've had better in other countries. The margaritas and mojitos were very tasty. Overall not too bad of a restaurant to check out if you know what to order but need more English speaking personnel. We have been twice and probably will return again if we're in the area and want a quick bite. Note: Black Bass not available second time it was red snapper prepared same way as the Bass with shrimp. We used to love this restaurant a few years ago, it was a family favorite, we haven't gone out to eat much in recent years so granted, we have not frequented this in a year or two, but oh boy has the quality of this restaurant changed. we waited over one hour for our food (the place was busy but not crazy busy) and nobody ever apologized for the long wait. If the food had been good, it would have been no problem but the food was not good. Honestly, the rice and beans were the best part. The shrimp had not been pealed properly and my entire plate was drowned in sauce and chunks of shrimp shells and it was really barely edible. My husband and son did not enjoy their food either, and neither is picky. one of the TVs was showing wheels of fortune. Seriously? The service was also terrible. The waiting staff was polite and all but we barely saw them. On top of this, the prices were extremely expensive considering the quality of the food.
