Went for a lunch meeting and was surprised being a spoiled Mexican foodie from Texas and Guadelajara, Mexico. The salsa of course was way too mild for me but I used it was my dressing with the house salad that was served with my fish tacos. Perhaps not really authentic Mexican, no, but as good Tex-Mex as you'll find in many larger locales and in a really cute atmosphere and with friendly, prompt, service. If you want Tex-Mex, it's exactly what you'll want and the food came out very quickly which is nice for a place near the interstate. Salsa, Chips, and Fajitas - OLAY!!! The service is great and you get you food quickly! The waiters have always been very kind and helpful. They are really great with my kids, too. The chips and salsa are super delicious and come in unlimited quantities. I usually get the fajitas dinner and it's always be yummy. My kids like the cheese quesadillas and tacos. I've only ordered something once that I didn't like, the pork dinner. It was shredded pork, looked grey, tasted okay, but my stomach was not happy afterwards. I didn't send it back and I ate most of it, so it obviously wasn't that bad, but I WON'T be ordering that, again. I HAVE been back at least twice since I had the grey pork and the quality of those subsequent meals was way better than that one bad instance. read more

So my husband and I were on a road trip heading back from North Carolina. We were looking for somewhere quick off the highway but didn't want fast food. We settled on wanting Mexican food and this was the only place other than Taco Bell so we took a chance and it was the best and quickest service of my life. I kid you not we had our drink orders in, enough time to look at the menu, order, they brought us chips and salsa, and within 10 minutes our food was out. It was a 20-25 min pit stop for dinner, cost us 16 with 4$ tip so 20$ and it was the best food. Awesome salsa and homemade chips. I got two beef enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband got nachos. 10/10 would recommend for an awesome sit down restaurant but kicks butt and can get you awesome hot food instantly. We were pleasantly surprised to stop here on a road trip. The restaurant is easy to find in a WalMart plaza. Atmosphere - the cool air conditioning, the clean restaurant and bathrooms, the comfy booths, low lighting - very pleasing when all you've seen is the inside of a car for a while. Service - impeccable, chips brought immediately, delicious filtered water with lemon and other drinks refilled frequently, all requests accommodated. Food - I have a soft spot for Mexican. This is more on the authentic side with plates accompanied by rice and refried beans. Overall the food is wonderful for Mexican in a remote location in West Virginia but 3 stars for Mexican elsewhere. Very low prices. read more

We stopped here on our way back to Pittsburgh from North Carolina. We got there at 12:20 on a Sunday and even though the door said they opened at 12, the place was PACKED. Our party of 2 was seated right away. Chips and salsa were excellent (but the white stuff was miracle whippy and weird) and my fiance and I both ordered the enchiladas verdes. Less than 5 minutes later, we were eating. I was amazed at how fast. It wasn't until halfway through eating that I realized they were cheese enchiladas with chicken on top. A little strange, but not bad. The check came and it was less than 15$. Very impressive. On our way out, the line was literally out the door. We ordered a little bit of everything and they were all good! I really loved the Tbone steak, its really tender. And the bacon wrapped shrimps are to die for! Then we had leche flan for dessert, I longed for it and I didn't expect a Mexican restaurant to have it, I thought its only a Filipino dessert, and I was so happy to finally eat it again. I just wish they would expand and make the restaurant bigger because so many people eat there it was really crowded when we ate. I lived in nearby Athens for 2 years and when I was first introduced to to Campestres I did not go in expecting much. I was very very surprised. Their food was stellar, as a big Mexican fan, I have been gone from the area for a while now and I still think about it when I want Mexican. The Pollo Loco is a must try and their dips are delicious. The people of Princeton are spoiled with this gem of a restaurant. If you here heading up or down 77 and are hungry around the WV-VA border then stop here, you won't regret it read more

Really good Mexican place! My wife, 2 daughters, and I stopped in for lunch while driving through. Quality food, good cooking, clean and nice atmosphere. They gave us chips and salsa to start but also gave their homemade Chipotle ranch for dipping. It was well balanced and creative. All parts of our meals were properly cooked, properly seasoned (which I feel like I don't always get at restaurants), and generously portioned. I'm a big eater and I had plenty to eat even from my lunch portion of fajitas. Our daughters' chicken strips were cut in half lengthwise which was uniquely fun. It made them easier for them to eat and just seemed fun. This might seem small, but even the chicken strips were properly seasoned after having been fried. The kitchen clearly cares about proper cooking/seasoning technique. Anyway, if you enjoy Mexican food you won't be disappointed. Give it a try. If we lived locally we'd become regulars. read more

By far the best Mexican in the area. The restaurant is clean and has great staff who are kind and helpful. The food is good, if you are a local them you will be well satisfied. However, if you are from out west and use to suburb Mexican food then you will find it to be decent. I have never had a dish that I couldn't eat. They bring you this creamy mayo based dip with your chips and salsa, I'm not positive what is in it, but it is GOOD! Given the reviews here I went to Campestre. I expected the skies to open up and to get a quick glimpse of haven, well it didn't. The food was pretty mediocre the Guacamole looked like it came from a Costco plastic bag. the steak quesadillas were average at best and the service was even bellow that level. All in all not the worse restaurant I ever experienced but not much better either. For me Applebee's and several of the other restaurants here are a much better choice. read more
