I got the Pollo San Juan for $10.99. This is the description of it on the menu: Grilled chicken breast, sweet bell peppers, onions and potatoes, squash and zucchini topped with cheese dip and served with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. I wanted to make tacos out of my food since it did come with flour tortillas so I asked how much it would be to add shredded lettuce and the waiter told me it was .75 cents extra, I thought that was ridiculous. I could go buy a whole head of lettuce myself for that price so I passed. When I got my meal, I thought I was going to be getting a lot of food however what was on my plate were two extremely thin chicken breast, I'm talking you could almost see through them they were so thin. 2 slices of zucchini, 1 slice of squash, 1 thin slice of potato (as thin as a potato chip) about 3 big chunks each of onions and bell peppers. The cheese that was supposed to be covering the entire dish was only slightly covering the slice of potato and a piece of zucchini. The refried beans tasted like textured water and was covering half of the dinner plate. The rice was really good, but there were only about 2 tablespoons of it on my dish. My boyfriend and I really like the "free and endless" chips and 2 kinds of dips they give, but we never got a chance to ask for a refill of them. When we were done eating we asked the waiter if we could get some chips and the two different kinds of dip to go and to my surprise when he brought me the ticket they charged us $2.00 for the chips and 1.00 each for the 2 dips. I asked the waiter about this and he replies " well they're not free" and tells us we can get as many free refills on the chips and dip as we want while we're there but if we get them to go they charge. I told him I thought that was crazy and thought to myself how very cheap and rude of a restaurant to do this to their customers. Every time I have ever gone to Campestres I always leave feeling unsatisfied and like I've just been extremely ripped off, I don't know why I thought this time would be any different but I guess I just had a weak moment or lapse of sanity. They have a few things on the menu that are good but you'll only get a few tablespoons of them then they'll charge you 6x what it cost them to make it all the while trying to nickel and dime (or dollar) you to death if you want anything extra. It's just not worth the frustration and disrespect I feel when I go there. This time they have put the nail in the coffin, I won't ever go back and I urge others to do the same. read more

NO ONE EAT THERE! The service at this restaurant is horrible and I will continue to write this review everyday no matter how many times the restaurant owner tries to take it down. Almost every time I've gone in I have left feeling dissatisfied. One time I ordered the taco salad that came with guacamole, whenever I received my food, there was no guacamole, so I told them it was supposed to come with guacamole and they said they would get me some. Then when i received my bill they charged me $3 for what was equivalent to a tsp of guacamole, when i told them that it was supposed to have guacamole on it to begin with they said only the dinner menu taco salad came with guacamole, i said well why didn't you tell me that whenever i told you guacamole was missing from my taco salad? They avoided the question continued to insist i pay for the guacamole, so i did because it was starting to cause a scene and they were trying to embarrass me... Then another time my husband and I placed a pick up order and they told us it would be 10-15 minutes. When I arrived literally 15 minutes later, they had given our order away and told me it would be another 15 minute wait. When I asked if there was something they could do to compensate our trouble, they asked what I would like, and i said free cheese dip. They then said ok that will be $4.00. Then argued with me in the middle of the restaurant and called me a LIAR and that it was my fault they gave my order away because I was there early (which I wasn't and makes absolutely no sense at all because if I'm early my food should be there). And this was the manager I was talking to, what kind of business are they running there? They do not value their customers, the customer is supposed to always be right and if a company makes a mistake they should do something to make it right, not argue with the customer and insult them. I've never been treated this bad at a restaurant before. I told them that would be the last time I ever eat there, the food was only mediocre at best anyways. And after talking to several other people I know i'm not the only one who they have argued with and treated bad. They all need to go back to mexico, they don't value us enough to need our business, so WV doesn't need their restaurant! read more

Incredible food. Incredible service. Love the restaurant but also have had them cater two events for me for 400+ people, and they did a fantastic job. My client was very happy, everyone loved the food, and the guys from the restaurant at my event couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They really care that everyone is happy with the food and satisfied with their service. 5 stars isn't high enough! Can't say enough good things about this place. Side note: they don't even officially cater events. They did it for me and my event twice but just out of the kindness of their hearts. Great people all around. If you're in the Princeton area, you won't find a better place to eat! read more

This was one of my favorite places to eat. My daughter and her friend went there for dinner last night and was CONNED! They charged my daughter's debit card and then told her there was no money on the card and made her friend pay the bill a second time. They took advantage of two 16 year olds and I will NEVER EVER eat there again. There is one very pissed off mama here and in about an hour they are going to know it. The only time you'll have more fun than Campestre is doing the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen! GISHWHES people are as charming as the Campestre decor, as spicy as the salsa, and as warm as the servers. I recently dined at Campestre, and it was a delightful experience. I ordered the chicken burrito fajita, and it exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing as usual. But OMG the service tonight was the worst I have ever had at Campestre. It took longer to get my check than it did to eat my food. Than weighting on them to get back was just as long. Don't get me wrong I love this place but you should never have to ask for a check and then weight almost 17 min for them to cash you out. read more

This is a great place! I've eaten there three times, and the food and service are consistently good. Fast service, free chips and salsa, and polite servers. The food price is decent: we usually spend $20-25 as a couple, including drinks. (More if we get appetizers and/or dessert.) Serving sizes are good and take-home boxes are available on request. read more
