Always in the mood for soup - Chicken Tortilla Soup

Possibly the best Mexican Restaurant in the area. Can't say better than Cali-Mex or Tex-Mex, but if you are in the mood for Mexican this is the place to try in the area. Staff are friendly, drinks are good and food as well.

The food good. The staff was nice but forgot the meat in my enchilada. The rice was very dry. It was loud so I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a quiet dinner. But don't get me wrong, it was a great experience.

I was expecting a mediocre mexican place, but the kids were hungry so we popped in. First of all, the wait time was little! Great customer service. Me and my family got the food in less than 20 minutes after ordering. I ordered the "Lunch Nacho Supremos" and they were SO GOOD! I would definitely recommend. (p.s. I had them take somethings off the nachos so you won't see everything included on the menu)

Prices were high, especially for Mexican food. My daughter ordered the RIBEYE (med rare) which was best dinner at our table. It had nice fat content to make it tender and it had a very delightful flavor, almost like it was cooked in bacon grease (likely was not). I ordered the chimichunga with beef. Again, the beef was good quality strips of beef (not ground beef). My dish came with a tomato onion salsa that made the dish. Add a little to each bite! I would ask for more on the side next time. My wife ordered the chorizo taco, which was literally chorizo in a flour shell...nothing else in the taco...no onions, no culantro, not tomatos, just chorizo. This is supposed to be a Mexican specialty and they didn't do it justice. WATCH OUT FOR THEIR BILLING PRACTICES - I entered tip on first receipt, as usual. Then they brought me a final receipt with no signature required. I asked waitress and she said they just add tip without signature. I said I wanted a receipt with signature to sign. She sent me to manager which again gave me a receipt without signature. I again asked for a proper receipt to sign. He finally gave me one but it had an additional charge of over $2 such that it didnt match my receipt where i added tip. He said it was a credit card surcharge, as notified on back of register (you pay at table). I am suspicious now and will check credit card statement to be sure my card is charged properly.

The food was about on par with what you would find at a traditional Mexican restaurant in this part of the country. I ended up ordering the Camarones al a Diabla, and they were pretty decent. The sauce was nicely flavored, though there was less of it than I expected. The balance of shrimp and other sides was good, and the portion wasn't over the top. Overall, a pretty good meal. In terms of the vibe, I would say it's very Mexican. The television in the bar was set to a Spanish language channel. I was able to communicate just fine, but there was a bit of a language barrier with the bar tender. Not a problem. I actually view that as a sign of authenticity. I'll also note that they seemed a little short-staffed on the night I showed up. Everyone was extremely busy, so service was a little slow but still attentive. Everyone there was trying their best to keep up. All told, I would recommend this place. Not an over the top dining experience, but it was very clearly a locally owned place with a good vibe and lots of character.

We were a little cautious because the door was propped open and several floor fans were running. It was fine, plus the temps there were just high 70s. Our waitress brought us menus and water, then while we glanced over the menu, brought chips and salsa. I asked for hot salsa and a mildly hot one. My wife chose the Lunch Burrito with a side of Frijoles. I went for the Lunch Taco Salad, although I was a bit disappointed that I missed not seeing frijoles in the list of ingredients. However my ant thoughtful wife shared hers. Our food was fairly quick, enough time to polish off a tray of warm tortilla chips. My wife's burrito was excellent, spiced nicely with the hot salsa. I enjoyed my taco salad, even with the absence of beans. And of course my wife had to test the Churros. A pleasant experience overall and good food with fair prices. And good service. A definite plus for little Hinton.
