We left Portland, because we were hoping to be closer to home and still have a great meal. We were disappointed. We arrived at 130 p.m. to an empty restaurant. My salmon was over cooked. My husband ordered the scallops. For the price, he was expecting plump scallops instead he has given 6 1/2 small scallops. He also had to wait 10 minutes or more for the sides that he ordered when he was almost done his entree. We were sadly disappointed and will think again about eating here again. read more

We were coming back from Arcadia National Park heading for North Conway and we were getting hungry and just happen to be near Bridgeport area. We used YELP and came across great reviews for Campfire Grill and we were so glad we did. There is lots to choose from. We had the sirloin tips smothered in peppers and onions with a side of baked beans and corn bread with maple butter. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. Went at night with family. Pleasantly surprised. This place could easily turn into a dive bar with the amount of locals there, the live music and such but it's not. The food is great and looks just as appetizing. Great lively atmosphere. The place to go if you are looking to have fun up in lonely Maine. I take away a star because of location and because they are edging on bar first then dining. They should try and make the distinction better. Don't go if you don't talk loud. read more

The food was amazing - we had the buffalo Brussels sprouts appetizer and the sour dough bread to start - both were DELICIOUS. The Brussels sprouts were like crispy buffalo chicken bites, but with Brussels sprouts instead of chicken (that might sound weird... But it's delicious). The bread was warm and crispy (and cheesy!) on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I had the turkey cheddar apple panini, which was delicious (the maple mayonnaise on it definitely was a huge factor to making it great). My friend got the grilled salmon with sautéed spinach and mashed sweet potatoes and loved it all. I tried some of her sweet potatoes - they were as good as she raved that they were. We called for reservations for 6 and they said they could not accept anymore because if the holiday So we went a little earlier than planned - there was a half hour wait and we went to bar and ordered drinks and went out to patio to wait. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy, but we were seated within 15 minutes. Our waitress was nice, but clearly frazzled... Our apps came out within a reasonable amount of time, but within three minutes, our meals arrived and everything barely fit on the table. We had to flag someone down for silverware. Wings were very good. If you wanted bread with your meal, it cost extra. Burger was ok- it tasted and looked like a pre made/shaped burger. Not the flame grilled flavor I was hoping for. Onions were not grilled as shown in the menu. Mac and cheese was excellent. Prices a little high, but it's summer so it was expected. If we go back, it will be during the week when it's not so busy/noisy. read more

We were a large party of 7. They did give us a reservation and table was ready when we arrived. It was in the bar room, unfortunately very loud in there. Had appetizer of chips and blt dip. It was very good. Dinner did not include salads or bread. Disappointed with that. I had lobster over fettuccine noodles with a butter -lemon sauce. It had alot of lobster meat and was a large portion. Tasty. Also served at our table was salmon, a lobster roll, a burger, a steak and buffalo Mac and cheese. We ordered take-out meals on a Wednesday night. After being put on hold many times (which is understandable), I was told I couldn't make requests such as "no tomatoes" on a cheeseburger, but she'd write it down anyway. My sirloin tips were not cheap, but they were so fatty, I couldn't chew half of them. The grilled onions I ordered were missing, and my onion straws contained mostly French fries mixed in, which I hadn't ordered. I'm glad my broccoli was included in the meal instead of paying the stated $2.95 for sides because I had 3 pieces of mushy, waxy tasting green things. My sons' cheeseburgers had totally different toppings, but not the ones I requested. My husband's fish and chips was undercooked, but he said it was otherwise good. I understand that restaurants are struggling right now, but so are hard-working families who want value for what little money they have. We paid way too much for the dinner we got. read more

Terrible service. We just ordered drinks and wings. Wings took a long time but finally got them. Ordered dinner which was only a sandwich and we waited and waited over 20 minutes. Waitress never came back or asked if we needed drinks. Finally waved her over and asked what was taking so long and she said "we're busy! We have a whole other dining room". No attempt to apologize for the wait or to say she's check on it. We told her to bring the check and she did. Didn't say thank you or anything. We've always liked this place but tonite was not impressive. To add insult to injury, the ac seemed to be not working. It was hit and stuffy. The table behind us opened a window in an attempt to get some air. We camp nearby and many of us patronized the Campfire Grille. The old location was much better as far as servers went. The first time I stopped in with my family it was around 9 pm .i was worried that service was not going to be too good. But let me tell you they where Over The Top. Now I can't drive past to place without stopping in. We have been there maybe 10 times. Everything we have ordered off the menu was awesome including desert. Try the s'mores there soo good . We drive from Jackson n.h. To get there it's worth every minute. Well enjoy Campfire grill there really the best ! read more

Great food and service! I cannot believe we didn't find this place until mid week of our vacation. It is barely on the Bridgton line so easy to get to from where we were in Bridgton. The menu is really creative too. I had a S'mores martini which the bartender made a little show of making, and it was delicious. They also give you whatever did not fit into the glass in the martini shaker so you get your money's worth. I had the Hawk Mountain chicken and my husband had the Wyonegonic Cod, both were great. Be sure to order the hot boule bread and butter for $1.99, delish! It was so good here we went back the second night with a few others and one had the veggie (Sweden) flatbread which was like a big, fresh veggie pizza. The value is great and the wait staff was wonderful. Dinner will be had here from now on! read more

Wow! This place was a pleasant surprise! Like another reviewer we weren't expecting much but needed a quick bite and happened to be driving by. The food was great (we had a burger & a turkey sandwich (thick cut turkey!)) & they had Maine Beer Co on tap! We sat at the bar where the service was great and the locals were friendly. We have a vacation home in Bridgton and have been go the Campfire for years. We always leave happy. Good good, good beers and ales at reasonable prices. Wait staff are all nice, attentive and personal and the atmosphere is just right for a casual lunch or dinner. Nice job (and love the new location and paved parking lot)!!! read more

Family is on a quest to eat at every locally owned restaurant between North Windham and Jackson NH this ski season. The Campfire Grill was an unexpected 100% winner. Let me preface this review with I have had several pleasant experiences at Campfire Grille. I don't normally write negative reviews but I felt compelled in this case. Stopped for a late lunch with the hubby and a friend. The bartender couldn't have been less engaged or interested in our enjoying our meal. My chicken parm came out burnt and the pasta was so over cooked it was mushy. I sent it back as it was basically inedible, I do understand that it wasn't her fault but she barely acknowledged that I was still waiting for my meal long after my companions finished their meals. I barely ate the second meal as it wasn't much better but I did scrape the breading off the chicken to take it home for the dogs, guess lunch wasn't a total loss. Long story short for me is if the customer service is good I can overlook a bad meal now and again. read more

The food was decent, but for a $23 steak when I ask for medium rare I don't expect it to be medium. Same way with my friends burger. Our waitress, Vanessa was excellent, but almost every other waitress was not smiling and seemed as though they hated their job. When I brought this to the owners attention she started defending the waitresses, which is fine, but also started putting down our waitress that we loved. What's up Campfire Grill?? Last night we sat in the bar area (because the ambience is more like your previous location) and it was soooooo quiet. Lots of people, but no bar noise. Where's the music? Also, the letters on the wall that spell out "campfire grill" are not lit, except for the "f". At least, replace the batteries. It'd look a lot nicer if they were lit. We ordered Tuckerman's pale ale and got something else 2X. Should've said something, but we didn't. Calamari used to be fresh, now it's out of a bag/box. Dinner was OK. Is it because it's winter? PLEASE step it up. Your year round, local crowd loves you, but if it stays this way, you'll lose a lot of us. read more

I highly recommend NOT going to the Campfire Grille. To start off, we waited almost a half hour to get seated, and when we got in, there were a bunch of empty tables (7 of us). The waitress was rude from the beginning. She would not answer our questions and had a bad attitude. She was even rude to my mother! The food took over an hour... meanwhile the place was almost empty. When we would ask how much longer the food would take, the waitress kept said "soon" "soon" "soon" and wouldn't even give us a direct answer. Anyways, they automatically added 20% gratuity which the waitress certainly didn't deserve. This service was so bad. 20% for horrible service? No thanks. read more

Great pub spot in the woods! Fun for watching games, catching a band, lots of beer choices, game specials and locals.

This place is really, really good. Very high-quality food - think gastropub, not sports bar. The difference really shows (and tastes!) in every dish we have tried while vacationing in the area over the past few years. We haven't tried anything that we wouldn't strongly recommend. Salads, chowder, burgers - all excellent. The reuben and chicken panini with mozzarella and prosciutto - outstanding. Steak tips are great, and seafood is really good. Tastes like everything is homemade, and not dumped frozen into a fryer. My kids love what are clearly fresh, hand spun chicken fingers/tenders, and we love them buffalo style as an app. The abundance of pickles (again appear and taste homemade) served with each sandwich are outstanding (please never stop doing that). We really like the new location. Service is always solid and consistent - very good staff. Highly recommend, you won't go wrong (unless you go the the incredibly over-priced and incredibly mediocre Rick's Cafe down the street). read more

They serve their martini drinks in little mixers, very cute until the top falls off as you are pouring it and it covers the table, your jeans, your sweater, your husbands pants and makes you sticky all over. Then once you and your party politely pick it up all yourself with no help from staff you are charged for a replacement! I asked to speak to the manager who told me that unless the waitress spilled it on me it was my fault and that the waitress should have told me to be careful in which case it would be her fault (nice manager to throw her staff under the bus). The manager then went on to explain that the owner has a strict policy on this and that it was my fault. The food was basic probably comes from Sysco nothing was fabulous nothing was inedible. The treatment of the drink, the attitude of the manager (who's been managing for 8 years) and the owners strict policy of spilling a drink is the customers fault will make me never go back and share this story with all who care to hear. I would love to hear from the owner! I wonder if they would like to foot my dry cleaning bill? read more

Okay for the area. The beer selection is pretty good. The food is average, and pretty certain it is mostly frozen, not fresh food. The mashed potatoes seemed from a package and when we asked if the chowder was made in-house we were told no. It was from a can. Not ideal for the price. read more
