The food was subpar at best, but there was no wait. I'm guessing that's because of the terrible service and rude older lady that works during lunch on this Wednesday. I went on the wkend when the younger kids worked and the food and service was great, but this visit lost my buisness for good. This woman left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'll never return and I will tell everyone I know not to go as well. I didn't even have an appetite after how rude she was. I was so disappointed. This a favorite spot in the summer. But we came in October. They didn't have paper menus and I couldn't read the board. I was told to look it up online. The only protein they had was chicken. They were out of nacho cheese and drink lids. One daughter asked for an item that was being featured on the photo screen and she was told it was only a summer item Then once they finished the chicken my daughter went back and got rice and beans and they changed her for a full burrito bowl. Went in this morning. Didn't have bomb sauce or jalapeños sauce. Really disappointed was told they didn't have bomb sauce. Whole reason I came. Asked about waiting and got told they hadn't started and it would take too long. Really disappointed as we've enjoyed luchadors for years. Really taken back. I LOVE Mexican food, and this place did not impress. The online ordering is great, but the flavors are lacking. Many items have an overwhelming dried herb flavor I have never experienced in Mexican food (and I've eaten Mexican food throughout Mexico, Texas, California, etc.). I can't place it but find it pretty offputting. Their black beans look like they're straight from a can, and their rice is mushy/overcooked. Their shredded cheese seemed... dry? It has that anti-caking agent that grocery store shredded cheese has so it doesn't stick together. As a result though, it doesn't melt well and the texture is strange. I also didn't enjoy my last pickup experience. There was one employee at the front, and one customer. I entered the pick-up door and then went to wait behind the other customer. The woman working asked if I was picking up, and acted very exasperated and told me I had to pick up at the *other* counter. I get the impression people make the same mistake often, and while there is a sign... getting upset with customers over it is poor service. First of all... we've all had a real solid craving for one of our favorite things, right? I've been craving steak nachos with sour cream and cheese for at least the last week, heavily. Secondly... you ever have a craving COMPLETELY satisfied? I'm not quite sure I have until today. Gooooooodness me.... I finished my entire order of nachos... happily A line to the door the entire last 45 minutes they were open this evening.... and they kicked ass! Solid Chipotle alternative. We live in LA and we're in Maine so had to try it. I had the Carnitas Quesadilla and it was VERY good. Wife had the Luchador burrito which was good. Chips and salsa were a little weird. The red spicy salsa wasn't spicy at all. We also weren't offered chips at checkout and head to go back and buy them. Churros we're good but looked like they rushed them out a bit so the powdered sugar got a little clumpy. Staff was nice, nobody cleaning tables or emptying trash during downtime so the trash was overflowing. 4+ people in the kitchen could have used their time a bit better. A+ for the decor, love the DTLA bridge mural and Cali vibes. Flavors are solid, it's all there just seems like this place would benefit from a shift manager or an owner there directing traffic a bit. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and it seemed pretty disorganized. We'll be back for sure as the food was solid and the Carnitas were very good. read more

I do not eat here often . I have been here a few times. Today I went in for 2 orders of Nachos . That's really the only thing I get there . I could not get nachos because because they did not have Nacho cheese. They do not have a large menu . So I would think they would keep items in stalk . They said it would be on the truck next week . Well that doesn't help today . Walmart sells super large cans of nacho cheese. So I ended up ordering Carne Asada Fries . I think those had nacho cheese too but the employee said reg cheese would melt on the hot fries but not the nachos as they are not hot. Today was the first day of tourist season . Very disappointing. The fries were ok but I really would have liked nachos . Are any of the items homemade ? Or is everything pre prepared ? read more

This place is usually decent but I just ordered a burrito with double steak and two protein fitness bowls which both are supposed to come with double chicken. All three items had less chicken/steak than when i order a meal without double meat. The whole burrito was mostly lettuce/filler and was a small square shape, not their typical burrito. The bowls were maybe half full total. Spent $48.06 for three items that left everyone hungry. Very disappointing! read more

Without a doubt, Luchador Tacos has the best Mexican food in the area. After moving from Nevada, with a fiancé from California, quality Mexican food is a must for us. We've enjoyed every meal that we have ordered from here (all takeout due to the pandemic) but on various occasions, it seem the quality was lacking. During one of our experiences, a whole portion of our order was missing-- the owner rectified the situation and covered the missing items the next time we ordered, however it would have just been a more well-rounded experience to not have to deal with anyone missing their food at dinner time. Additionally, I wish they would offer sides of salsa with their burritos as we usually drive around 45 minutes round trip and find we are always wanting more salsa. (Just a suggestion, obviously, as we now know to ask for sides of salsa with our meals.) I usually order their bean and cheese burrito ( I love the simplicity of it) and the carne asada fries! OMG!! The fries are so good I eat a whole order by myself as my meal! This is definitely a restaurant worth checking out and they are expanding!
