One of the female workers went as far as mock me when she messed up my order and I tried correcting it for the third time. This is a gem. The seafood here was fresh and skillfully cooked - we came here twice, getting fish once and then cataplana. Excellent appetizers, and attentive and knowledgeable wait staff who guided us through the menu to winning choices. Great location right on the beach with views. I can't fault it. It must have changed since the negative reviews were written. I see last one was toward the end of 2024. Food: Came here to get some drinks and a little nibble so can't say much for the whole menu but I did get their gin and tonic along with tarte banoffee. Hands down a great gin and tonic! Been spoiling myself with a lot of wine but going back to one of my favorites here was quite a surprise! Also the tarte banoffee was excellent! It caught my eye as I was coming back from the bathroom and just had to get it kind of dessert- was not dissapointed. Cost: The gin and tonic was well priced but I did find the dessert a little slightly overpriced based on what I've been normally paying for around the area but it was okay! Environment: This place was very large! Tons of seating and I want to say my favorite part was enjoying my gin and tonic as I was looking at the ocean from their outdoor seating area! If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. The evening started out poorly when we were seated across from the kitchen entrance. It smelled like antiseptic at that location. The waiter was abrupt and unhelpful in explaining the menu. The gazpacho came with ice cubes in it, which watered it down. It was served with a plate of croutons out of a box. The fried shrimp were cooked in butter and were over-cooked and flavorless despite supposedly being cooked with garlic, ginger, and pink pepper.They were not served with any sides. The grilled sea bass was not fileted and was full of bones. It was served with overcooked vegetables. The overall atmosphere, service, and food were awful. The waiter never checked to see if we were pleased with our meals. Worst meal we had in all of our travels in Portugal. read more

My husband and I just had the worst meal in all of Portugal. The fish was over cooked, the service was snotty, and the ambiance was C- at best. The wine was wonderful. It was a local tejo red and the view, what we could see of it crammed into our small table, was beautiful but those 2 things were the only positive things of the restaurant. Excellent food! The grilled Swordfish was scrumptious. Nicely done not overlooked vegetables and potatoes a rarity in Portugal. Salad was huge and very good. Location is incredible. Don't be fooled by the ice cream take way front part of restaurant. The restaurant is in the back and has indoor and outdoor seating. Desserts look wonderful. Not gluten free so I couldn't eat any. Lots of variety of breads that my husband enjoyed. Good wine and you can take rest of unfinished bottle with you back to hotel. Also if you hike the trails from pointe do pienada you will run right into this place! Also walking close to Belmar spa &a resort where we stayed! All the seafood that we ordered are delicious and fresh. We ordered Octopus rice, Monkfish and lobster rice, Gambus, Grilled Covina, prawn and sardines. I especially like their octopus rice, Gambus (Shrimps with olive oil, butter and garlic ) and grilled Covina. There's a sardine and a prawn that's undercooked (still raw). One star is taking out for the slow service. It took almost 45 to get our food. However this restaurant takes reservation and the price is decent for he quality of the food. read more

It's a great place to go if you want to be treated like you are inferior or an imposition to the staff. First off they tell you a reservation is absolutely necessary but at 6:00 the place was like a ghost town. Most of the staff were eating in the corner. We made a reservation for the next evening at 6. We were told we must eat inside as the patio is totally booked. Again the staff were dining in the corner. We were the only ones inside besides them. At 7:15 when we left there were only two other parties inside. If I were you I would avoid this place at all costs! The staff are all very rude and the food is mediocre. Find a different place to eat if you want a view and to be treated like a human being. Where is the management? You could be making a ton of money . Sad! read more

This is the best restaurant with Ocean view in Lagos, next to the " Porto Mós" beach. The food is amazing, and service is nice. The best time is around noon, lunch time. You must call in advance around 11:15am and reserve a table for 12:00-12:30pm, ask for a table inside close to the window with sea view. We visited this place twice during our stay in Lagos. We had "bacalhau a minhota" and "espetada de tamboril" one day then a few days later we had "arroz com polvo" and "lulas a servilhana", order "vinho verde", my favorites are "Muralhas de Monção" and "Sorralheiro", forget beer, "vinho verde" is the best match with fish and seafood, be like a local drink wine. This restaurant is on my top 10 list in Lagos, awesome food! We left really happy! : ) read more

I would not recommend this place. It's currently winter here and after waiting 45 minutes for our olives we waited until 1 hour and decided to ask where our food was. We were told it would be 5 minutes. After waiting 15 more minutes we asked again and was told they had no idea how fast they could get our order out because they decided to serve a large group that came in way after us ( 30 minutes ? ). What kind of restaurant does that? I guess one that has no problem with someone walking out and giving them a bad review. Frustrating, since we had walked 2.2 miles to get here and were hungry. This review really has two parts: 1. Beach chair / umbrella rental. Brilliant! Chairs and shade in excellent condition; 13E for two chairs for the entire day .. cannot be beat. Especially when compared to U.S. beaches, like Seaside, where one pays almost $100 for a day of chair rentals. 2. Restaurant. Meh -- could be better. Will be jam-packed as it's only one of two choices on the beach .. overpriced (to be expected), hectic, and average. Was enough to keep the kids playing and adults from getting hangry. There are two beach restaurants on Praia Porto de Mos - this is the cheaper and friendlier of them and our favourite. Fantastic views over the sea, sunbeds for hire along the front, a takeaway point and seafood restaurant. They offer plastics for take away coffee, soft drinks and beers for the beach or if you are lucky you can grab one of the outside tables. They also do takeaway sandwiches and great ice creams. Single espresso will set you back 1.05 euro. We visit regularly - it's always busy so if you want a table for dinner you need to book.... read more

In this restaurant, there is a place to order things to take away and I only use this service. We go there because the restaurant is always full and we can never sit down but the food is great. We were very disappointed because we wait really long sometimes, even 1 hour to have our order (pizza & burgers etc...), There were few mistakes on the order, some were changed but not all of them because we didn't want to wait an other hour.
