The sales person belittled me and asked me "are you serious? are you really gonna let 50 bad reviews keep you from buying this wonderful RV?" I told him, you bet I am. Then they made me wait three hours in the waiting room until they could get around to writing me a check for $3000. I guess they were hoping that I would change my mind. They were seriously mistaken. Our experience was good up until we met with the financial person..he was all smiles and happy until we declined the extended warranty and the gap insurance...our monthly payment was already higher than we had wanted to pay, so it was a major decision for us to go ahead and buy the camper, but we decided to because it was exactly what we wanted..what we did not want to do was to add another 100+ dollars to the payment due to the extended warranty..so we declined..the financial person completely did a 360 on us, he hardly spoke to us except to say "sign here" and when paperwork was done, he never shook our hand or said thanks for your business..I will not recommend this location to anyone, that was not a good experience at all..I do compliment Matt Wade (the salesperson) on his part..he was very nice and helpful.. read more

When this business was RV World of Georgia, our camper experienced great service, competent repairs, and reasonable prices for our annual winter checkup. The business became Gander, but kept the same personnel and policies, so we still got great service. This year, our 8th year for an annual checkup, the company is now Camping World. We brought it in, requesting a check of roof, slide, and systems. In the end, it took 4 trips and 4 weeks to get the camper back. In this time, they broke our front power jack, and replaced it with one off the shelf, which our service manager said they keep in stock because it happens so often. The replacement jack is of poorer quality than the one we put on ourselves. We asked how this happened, and were told they dropped the camper off the ball, which "happens all the time." In 8 years of camping in our trailer and having repairs done, we have never seen a camper dropped off the ball. Inspection found that new slide edging was needed. Extra screws were put in on the bottom, even though that was not in the repair instructions. This scratched the floor; the service manager implied that it might have been our fault the floor was scratched. When the repair person admitted extra screws were used, Camping World removed the screws and repaired the floor at their own cost. On trip #3 to pick up the camper, requested caulking had not been completed, but they charged us for it. On trip #4, when we finally got the camper home, we noticed that our custom epoxy-top table was cracked in two places. It is hard to crack epoxy, we have no idea how they managed that, and they didn't tell us about it. The back door no longer closes properly, and the water tank is leaking, both of which were fine before service. The one thing done right was the roof; it is clean and well-sealed. In short, more things are wrong with the camper than before we brought it to Camping World, and after 8 years they have lost our business. read more

Can we leave negative stars??!! This location particularly is the worst service location of any I've ever dealt with! Everybody was very helpful and on top of returning calls during the purchase process while I was looking to buy a 200+ thousand dollar class a motorhome. Once we finished the purchase, they Quickly went to not caring about my satisfaction or concerns. We have had numerous problems with our coach and each time we have brought it in for service, it has either come back not fixed or in actually worse condition than when it was dropped off. I would not refer my worst enemy to them for service or sales, I have made multiple attempts to speak with management, but none of them really care to address the issue. My next plan of action is to help spread the word to prevent others from having to deal with the same issues I have. read more

I was told the first time it is a very long process so call another day.. which is fine. I call another camping world in Augusta and was told the process was not long at all. I finally got the "long paper work" and it was only two pages! Afterwards I sent it back to the finance I asked a few more questions. "What do I have to do now ? I stopped in looking to purchase a used 5th wheel under 20K. There was nothing available so the salesman asked his sales manager if she knew of anything, and she told him there was a 2012 Open Range that had come in that they could let me have for 19K. It was close to closing on a Saturday so when I saw it the slides were not out and it needed cleaning. The salesman said he would call me on Monday and do a video walkthrough. (I live 2 hours away). He called me that following Monday and said, "I wouldn't sell this thing to my worst enemy!" His reasoning was that it was trashed, and he was afraid rats would show up at any minute (paraphrasing). I thought, "wow, an honest salesman for once", and decided to keep looking. About 3 days later I saw that they have it posted on their site for 28K! I texted him and asked what kind of damage could possibly INCREASE the price by 9k?!!? He said that he wasn't aware that it had been re-listed and said that he would honor the original price if I still wanted it. I drove down the following Saturday and walked through it and it was great. The slides weren't out yet as he said they were working on them. We agreed to the price, and I paid a deposit for it until the slides were fixed and I could pay the remainder and arrange for delivery. As a side note, when we sat down to discuss the price, I inquired about getting a washer/dryer installed and what would that add to the cost. He said it would be expensive but was worth it to have their professionals install it. I asked him to work me up a quote. When he came back from the sales manager office, he said that I would be better off buying a washer/dryer somewhere else due to the high cost. A cost that he never discussed with me and quite frankly is insulting because although I had budgeted 20K for an RV, he had no idea how much money I do have or am willing to spend. Not quite a week later he calls me again and says that the slides were so messed up and it was going to cost too much money to fix so they were going to just send it off to auction and refund my deposit. He offered NO other options. The very next day I called my sister and told her what was going on. She volunteered to play sleuth and called them expressing an interest in purchasing it. She got a different salesperson and was told that it was available for 28k and that there was nothing wrong with it. I took my LQ horse trailer to Camping World in Buford for repairs where I had sideswiped a pipe fence. I took it in July of 2022 and picked it up in February of 2023 - yes, they had it for 7 months. Many things were not repaired that I was charged for and items missing. I took it back in May for 2 weeks to give them the opportunity to do the repairs correctly, but nope, still not fixed. I took it back again in September 2023 after repeated phone calls and text with the corporate office. They had it for 2 months and things were still not fixed. Avoid the body shop. Dropped off the RV and told them no rush--I didn't need it for 3 months. After not hearing anything and 2 months, tried to get anyone to return my calls. Finally had to talk to the general manager to get it scheduled. Finally got around to working on it 1 week before I needed the RV. They didn't get one of the parts correct. When I got back in town, got them to order the part and one other thing that had broken. No one would return my call to give me a status update. I was told I would have refund in 7-10 business days. Today, is day 10. When I inquire about deposit I'm told at least another 2-3 business days. If I can't trust you to keep your word with my deposit, then I REALLY can't trust you with anything larger! The whole experience was negative. High pressure sales and low ball on trade ins. DO NOT buy RVs from here or get your RV serviced here. We have had terrible experiences every single time. They guarantee timelines and have NEVER stuck to them. They drag their feet and constantly give you the run-around when you need answers. We live in our RV full-time and each time we have had to have our RV serviced, it has taken them weeks to even get it looked at before diagnosing the issues. Then once the issue is diagnosed, it takes months for them to get around to actually fixing it. They are terrible about returning phone calls or updating customers on the status of their RV. If the service tech is gone that was working on your RV, your RV doesn't get touched until they return. I wish that there was a way to give negative stars because 1 star is way too generous. Gander had the best selection of RV's and Brandon helped us find the right fifth wheel but it was sold just before we got a chance to drive down to see it so he was able to have the same model brought in within a few days. Buyer Beware My husband and I decided to purchase a new fifth wheel. Even though, we had been warned by other people we know , to never use Camping World because of the way they treat their customers, we visited their Buford GA location formerly know as Gander RV. Their sales staff were very eager to help us find a camper but, it all went down hill from there. We picked (what we were told by our salesman) the best brand they carry a 2022 Cedar Creek 345ik (Forest River) with the full automotive paint finish. Before you go through financing, you pay$995 for their experts to do a walk thru/ orientation of the unit with you. They started on the outside of the unit then once done there, we went on the inside. We notice AC was on but it wasn't cooling in the camper. When we asked their expert about this he said "it was just plugged in and needed more time to cool off but that the air would blow us out of there." Based on this comment to us we proceeded to finance where they were more that happy to sell us this camper. We were extremely excited about our new camper. About 2 days later we came to pick up the camper. We took the camper to our camp spot. Once there, we started the hook up process, and of course we noticed camper was warm but the doors had been opened. The next day it was 78 degrees outside so we turned our thermostats to 68 degrees and left the camper for several hours. Once back to camper the thermostats were reading 79 degrees. So we knew, at this point, the AC was not working and we were misled and lied to by Camping World formerly Gander RV. We called them that Monday to discuss the problem and the service writer told us to bring it back in immediately so we did. It has been there for over 30 days now. The Service Manager has been trying to convince us that it not reaching the set temp is completely normal. (Per the owners manual these units are designed to cool 20 degrees below the ambient air.) it was only 79 degrees outside and the camper thermostat was set to 68 degrees and was reading 74 and never dropped below this while we were meeting in the camper. The technician that was working on it said for us to really be happy we need to put an air dump system in the camper. So totally modify the camper and void our warranty. We went there on 2 occasions and they said it was working but once we were in the camper the the thermostats were never at the set temperature. (I have pictures to prove this) We had to reached out to the former GM with never a call back and now there's a new GM so we went for a meeting and we're told there might be a fix for the AC issue ( we were the ones to reach out to Forest River and I got their rep to call into the dealership with some possible fixes) so we gave them more time but no fix still. We have been told by the service manager and the GM that the units were not working and in a failed state. At this point, we wanted them to take the unit back, and we would pick out an another brand camper. We sent the new GM the stock number of the new camper. Last night, I received the numbers on the new camper, here they are as follows... we paid $98,500 for our current brand new camper we had for 4 days, They offered us $60,000 for it approximately $38,500 less than what we paid for it.(see pictures) This company is in it for ripping people off. They do NOT stand behind their customers or their products. They already made money off the first deal where they had misled and lied to us and wanted to make additional money on the second deal. We have requested a meeting with the regional manager at this time. I will update this review as we go. read more

My family brought our RV here to get some repairs, and we were so impressed with the service! Big thanks to Corey who did a very thorough walk-through of the vehicle to take notes and make suggestions. He didn't rush us and addressed all our questions patiently and thoughtfully. When we mentioned the battery was dead, he brought out a jump starter and saved us a lot of diagnosis money. What a gem. We were only a little disappointed because the person we called the night before gave us hopes that the RV will be looked at right away. I was really hoping this place would be good, but the experience I had I will probably never get my travel trailer serviced here again. I took my travel trailer in to get some items fixed that had been needing to be fixed and got their multi point inspection done. When I dropped it off I gave them two weeks to get everything done. No communication during that time. I had to initiate all calls for any updates. After the two weeks picked up my trailer and was told everything was done. Went camping after picking up my trailer and after getting set up discovered two major things that I was told was done wasn't done. One thing was the propane gas lines. The entire weekend camping I had no propane going into the trailer. The Monday after returning I called Camping World explained the situation and was told to drop it back off. So after me spending $2500 on service I'm having to spend gas and time to take my trailer back in to stuff completed that should have been originally completed. When I dropped off my camper I told the service department I need to pick it up in a week because I'm going out of town. No communication during the week. I tried calling but kept getting told by the receptionist that everyone was busy and someone would call me back . No one ever called me back. Called four times to speak to the store manager and he would not talk to me ( this was the biggest slight out of the entire experience and such tell). Finally got a call from the service dept late Saturday afternoon the day I had to pick it up and told me that everything had been fixed and that they made a mistake in the original work by installing the wrong part. This all could have been avoided if someone had just QC or did an ops check on the original work. Makes question the other items that were supposedly fixed and the inspection I was told was done. read more

Called 10 days to get update and Junior who is over the service department said "we will try to get in to look at it soon". My husband and I just left this place. We were interested in a pull behind camper that they have and the associate, Omar, quoted us a price on it which we were ok with seeing how it was a used camper. So we go in and start doing paperwork. When Omar returned to us after speaking to the manager he informs us that the price he gave us was wrong and it was a little more. So rather than come back to tell us this first and make sure we were ok with this, They proceeded to pull our credit and write up the sheet showing payments and such. We were NOT ok with with this and I am highly upset that they took it upon themself to pull our credit, putting a ding against us before making sure we were ok with the purchase price first. Bought a used class a 2010 four winds windsport from these guys. Drove all the way from ky to make this purchase and they "had their team prep it and inspect it". Well, I drove it home parked it at a spot and used the hydraulic leveling system. The first time, it blew the connectors off the levels motor ! Called these guys, would replace it for 900$. Yeah right ! It gets better. Parked it for a week and went to drive it down the road, water started to leak from the ceiling about the driver and the passenger fans. Went on the roof, long behold the roof started to get crunchy right at the front cap where the seem is. "That's an old leak ". So you think this team they used to inspect this unit and prep it did their job? Cause it was 1,000 on my bill. And i paid 45,000 for this unit? Plus I have a leak that they had to have seen when they got the unit. It's just too much to have happened since I brought it home. These people are the ones who give the RV business a bad name. I wouldn't go back to RV world to have a kid's bike serviced. My RV was taken there for body work after an accident and highly recommended by my agent. It was there for 6 months. I wouldn't put all the blame on them. My mfr, insurance agent, and RV world were all to blame. In those 6 months I received zero calls from them. I was disconnected multiple times, left messages with reception, etc. Just for a status. I was lied to about parts being delivered, the wrong item arriving, shoddy work and damage to other areas of the camper. To finally finish something that should have been completed months ago, I made an appointment to have 2 decals applied. That took 3 days with an appointment. I have had much better luck dealing with a small hometown dealer which is where I'll go from now on. Large volume dealers like them may care about big RVs but a 15k trailer is not worth their time. read more

I brought in my van for a rooftop ac install. After a thorough walkthrough they provided me a verbal only quote that did not cover all the work we discussed. When I dropped off the van we recapped the scope of work and no adjustments were made to the quote. I did not realize until I picked up the van after completion that the work was not finished and they were wanting to charge more and make me wait several more hours to complete what we had agreed to. When I saw the quality of the work performed I decided against having them correct the misquoted and omitted work. Poor wiring connections, damaged wire insulation, minimum wiring size used per manufacture specifications, forced/bend frame to mount breaker panel box. They were willing to correct the issues at the expense of my time, however I lost faith in their ability since there were so many issues. read more

I purchased a 2021 Thor Gemini TW in May of 2021. Since then, I have found a number of serious problems with the RV, including multiple leaks, warping of the cabinets and bathroom door due to moisture inside, and striped bolts on the awning (along with other smaller issues). There was less than 3500 miles on it and it had 1000 on it when we got it. I made an appointment for warranty-related repairs at Gander RV in Buford, GA, in November of 2021 and was given an appointment to bring the RV in for repair of these problems on 12-06-2021. I provided the service department with a list and photos of all the issues requiring attention and discussed the problems with them in person. I have had to call them numerous times over the months for updates, and they always have some excuse, tell me that they are waiting for approval and/or parts from Thor. I call Thor and they say the repairs have been approved and parts delivered. At the end of May, 2022, my RV was still in the shop at Gander, so I drove two hours there to look at my RV and talk to them in person. The service manager promised me that it was all done but for cleaning and final inspection, and would be ready to pick up the next week. I made an appointment. Just drove two hours today to pick up our RV, got there thirty minutes early and waited 45 minutes to have them fetch the RV. Why didn't they do this lat night? Then, when they brought it up for us, there was an alarm blaring inside! The person who delivered the RV said he had no idea what was wrong, "I just drive 'em." We were then there for over an hour because no one in the service department could figure out why the alarm was sounding. First they thought it might be the battery, but no. Then they thought that maybe it was the propane tank that was causing the alarm. Nope. Finally, they determined that there was some sort of electrical connection that was supposed to have originally been connected to a "rear entrance (?)" In this rig (there is not and never has been a rear entrance on this model) that was somehow activated when they started the generator. Anyway, they squeezed in under the cabinets below the kitchen and disconnected something, which solved the problem for now. It sounded bogus to me, but I just wanted to get my rig and get out of there. They gave us no information on what to do should this alarm come on again other than to crawl back under the kitchen and disconnect the "rear entrance" alarm. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in dealing with an RV dealership. They took months to do the repairs, them promised us the RV was ready to pick up, and it was obviously not ready. I got my RV, but I'm still not sure its ok. I also just received a call from the dealer who originally sold me the RV asking me if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty since mine will be expiring this month. That made me realize that I have not been able to use my RV for months, and it will almost certainly not be ready for me to use again until after my current warranty expires. What happens if the current repairs don't fix the problems? When I contacted Thor before about this issue they assured me that Gander would warranty the repairs, but I honestly do not want to ever take my RV back there again. What other issues might I have discovered if I had been able to use my RV for all the time it has been sitting outside in the elements at the RV repair shop? Horrible repair facility. read more

MARCUS LEMONIS WOULD BE ASHAMED!!! So being new to RVing I did not know any better when having our 2011 Fleetwood Bounder towed to Gander RV/Camping World for service. Our experience started when our Bounder was towed to Gander RV on April 2nd, 2022 for a possible fuel pump failure along with a possible pinion seal leak. Upon dropping the RV off we were met by Jessica who was very nice and said all communication would be through her and that it would be three weeks before they would be able to diagnose the problem. Four weeks, five weeks, six weeks, very little to no communication. I was told one day that they were waiting on a response from the warranty department, I was told by someone else at a later date that nothing had been submitted to the warranty department. Finally I started calling up there on the regular with promises of call backs which very rarely happened. I was eventually told warranty had approved the replaced of the fuel pump and the replacement of the pinion seal. After so much lack of communication, I went to Gander RV at the beginning of week ten for face to face communication at which time I spoke with the technician and he said he replaced the fuel pump and there appeared to be another issue in which the previous week he had requested another three hours of diagnosis time from the service office. He said he is unable to do any work without approval from the service office. I told him it is under warranty and there should be no need for my approval to which no one had reached out to me to request. I walked to the service office with him to see about approval from warranty. Levi told us she would have to submit that to the warranty department. I asked her how long that was going to take and she said "let me see if I can reach out to them now." She returned within 5 minutes with approval from warranty. Levi was supposed to call me the next day with an update. Never happened. I went up there again the day after I did not received an update and Levi "had to run home really quick" and the service manager told me I can email him for updates. I then emailed him for a status update on day 69 he said he would get back with me by the end of the day... no response. I emailed him on day 70 and Jessica finally called me back saying my RV was done. Apparently a loose wire wire from a relay or something was causing a problem in addition to the fuel pump. She then told me they are no longer recommending the replacement of the pinion seal as the seal is just moist and not leaking. She said the seal is supposed to remain moist and if they were to replace it I would have to pay for the replacement fluid as it would not be covered by warranty and the new seal would just continue to remain moist as according to her, it is supposed to. She said they would replace if I would like since it had already been approved by warranty but I told her I would do some research and get back to her by the end of the day. I made a post on the Fleetwood Bounder Facebook page requesting mechanic advice on the "moist" pinion seal. Not one said the seal should be moist and multiple people said to pick up the RV from Camping World ASAP and take it to an actual truck service center where people that know what they are doing can take care of the problem. So I went ahead and picked up our RV on day 71. Upon getting home I noticed some white drippings around the inside of our RV. Upon on closer inspection, it is bird $hit all over the inside. Peace and Love Yelpers, I hope that you read this post before purchasing your RV so that you can be properly informed and clear about your buying decision. I waited to post a review so that I would not speak based on my emotions but rather the facts. I am a business owner myself and know how an unfriendly review can change the mind of a potential customer. Our experience with RV World has been less than satisfactory; as a result of negligent practices before, during, and after the purchase that lack viable consumer support. The company's integrity, personal touch, care, and concern was non-existent and it showed in their inability to care for us properly by addressing our valid concerns. Before Purchasing: We are first time RV owners so there were a host of tools, accessories and other hardware that we were not informed about before purchasing our RV. It wasn't until after we swiped our card that they even bothered to give us a list of what was needed in order to be prepared SAFELY for the road. During Purchasing: Our sales person handed us over to the finance department to pay for our balance after making our deposit; yet during the purchasing process we were again, not informed about the needs associated with the RV. There was a new awning sitting on the inside of the vehicle that would have taken them, (with all of there available resources) a short while to install but they refused to install it, leaving it up to us to figure it out. After Purchasing: Upon delivery we discovered water damage coming from the roof, leaking into the overhead lighting and air-conditioning system, which led to erosion in the table and in the flooring resulting in the need for thousands of dollars in repairs. We contacted the manager, Justin, a numerous amount of times about our issue and we got ignored. After discovering all the needs that we were not financially prepared to cover, we called to see if we could return the RV. They told us that we could not return it after purchasing but our sales associate informed (more than 30 days after our purchase) that we could have returned it within 72 hours; yet they told us we couldn't meaning, they blatantly lied to us, so that they would not have to return our money. We are full timers, meaning, we intend to live in our RV as our main dwelling. This disregard has caused emotional, mental, and physical strain on our lives and simply stated hurts and offends us deeply. read more
