Camping World Coldwater sold me a brand-new RV that was unsafe, misrepresented, and an outright lemon -- and then lied about nationwide service to get the sale. I spent three months researching before choosing the 2024 Coachmen Cross Trail 20XG. In December 2024, I found one at Camping World in Coldwater, Michigan, and was especially drawn in by the advertised Renogy battery upgrade. I spoke with Mike in sales for weeks, negotiated pricing, and even planned to fly in from Texas to buy it. The day before my flight, I called to confirm and was told Mike had quit for another job. I still went, trusting the "benefits of a nationwide chain." That trust was a massive mistake. Here's what happened immediately after purchase: * First night: No heat. I had to sleep with the engine running just to avoid freezing. * Day two: Gasoline poured out from under the RV at my first fuel stop. Good Sam, Ford Roadside, and AAA were useless. Ford and Coachmen pointed fingers at each other until a mechanic discovered the generator fuel line was only zip-tied up -- a sloppy, dangerous shortcut that caused the leak. * Nationwide service - a flat-out lie: Coldwater sold me this RV with the promise I could get service at any Camping World nationwide -- especially important since I live in Texas. That was a sales tactic, nothing more. When I actually needed help, Camping World Texas flat-out refused to touch it because it was purchased out of state. After dozens of calls, I was told they "can't know every state's rules." That's not a detail -- that's deliberate deception at the point of sale. * The real cause of the heat issue: An independent Texas shop (NOT Camping World) finally discovered a stray bullet lodged in the AC/heating system. The entire system had to be replaced under warranty -- less than a month into ownership. * Other disasters: * The Renogy battery system has never worked reliably despite three mechanics trying. * The awning fell off because screws weren't tightened. * A side compartment literally collapsed and won't lock. * The tank sensors have never worked, even after six shops in three states. * Most recently, coolant started leaking because a hose was routed against an engine belt until it wore through. This wasn't just bad luck -- this was negligence, dishonesty, and complete lack of accountability from both Camping World and Coachmen. They sold me a brand-new RV that was unsafe from day one, and then abandoned me when problems appeared. From a gas leak, to a bullet in the heating system, to falling parts, failing batteries, and endless lies -- Camping World Coldwater sold me a lemon and washed their hands of it. My advice: RUN from Camping World Coldwater. They will say anything to close a sale, and then leave you stranded when the RV inevitably falls apart. read more

We went to look through RVs unaccompanied and we were told the RVs are locked and you have to have a salesman with you. Nope! We left.

I just had a very positive experience with Camping World in Coldwater MI. My wife and I were traveling from Grand Rapids down to Texas and stopped at the WalMart parking lot to rest for the night. We left our coach for dinner and locked the door. Unfortunately there are two keys for the front door and we did not bring the correct key. I called Camping World this morning to see id we could get some help (there are no locksmith s in the coldwater area that can work on RV's). Grace answered the phone and was very professional and extremely caring. Her level of empathy led me to write this review. Thank you Grace Emily M was extra helpful as well- she got us set up with not only one but 2 of the right keys! Wished they were closer to our sales territories- we would definitely use them again!! read more

They sell products that are broken, knowing they are broke costing you more money than you're paying on the camper the camping world back up for service and repair is weeks long which causes you more money because now you can't even use the product that you're paying for do not do business with them, their general manager will address you as dude and bro and Homie like he's your pal. Service is really bad. Don't take your RV there for repairs. They appear and first impressions were good. But they don't follow up and don't call you with updates. They have had my RV for over a month to replace a radio and fix a leak. I'm going to have to go get it and take it somewhere else to finish the service work . It's just a radio .. very expensive as well. I will not go into all the issues but I for sure will never be going back. read more

Please notice the upper left corner. I just went in the camper yesterday for the first since the fridge handle was "fixed" and that is what I found. The corner is exposed without the trim covering it and the handle still does not work properly btw. I paid a lot of money for this camper and this is how it is repaired. I am sorry you are the one getting the brunt of this but I will never do business with your company again or suggest anyone to go there. This experience has been horrible from the start, I could write a short story. This is the email I sent them after a year of waiting to get the refrigerator handle fixed. It broke on our first trip with the camper. I did not receive a reply either. Over the first year of having this new camper I hauled it to coldwater to be repaired 4 times only for them to tell me they were mistaken and the handle was not in. None of those times did they do the 20 point inspection either. The last time I had it there when they half assed fixed the fridge they wanted to charge me $75 to caulk some spots on the roof because they finally did an inspection and found something wrong. There customer service after the sell is horrible. I will never purchase anything from them again, not even a door mat or recommend anyone to go there for anything. we had an awesome sales experience last fall unit was delivered after the season was over and electric was off so no way to test anything. spring we turned the air on didn't work hinge broke in a cabinet recliner right side doesn't latch properly DVD player only plays in black and white they passed us off to camper world as we can't tow to them. camper world came took pics didn't fix anything because it's warranty work had to file a complaint with attirney general against all 3 to get warranty work approved. gander Rv did nothing to help expedite they told us they had a unit for us so soon as we are approved it could be installed when approval came thru they had already given it to someone else their response to our complaint was they handed us off to camper world so as far as they are concerned it's settled. it's now end of July still nothing is fixed as everything had to be orders won't be in until early august then we have to set an appointment for repairs unbelievable this is a 2022 unit we should not have to deal with all this the dealer should of taken care of it start to finish read more

They should really look into a better location here in Coldwater. The place was almost empty when I was there a few weeks ago. The staff was friendly. Some of the fishing lures seemed overpriced. And for being a place that has a posted sign stating they are a licensed minnow dealer, you would think they would stock minnows for ice fishing season! read more

I have tried over and over to give this store a 2nd, 3rd chance. This time I went into the store on a Saturday about 5p.m. and they were switching the boat stuff out for ice fishing stuff. I needed a minnkota trolling motor prop. I asked first for somebody in fishing and they said nobody was working in fishing today!!(Saturday) So I explained to the cashier what I was needing and she pages for a manager to assist me. While waiting she decided to tell me since that stuff was pulled off the shelf and put in back room for season they couldn't sell it. Unbelievable!! So I had to go on a 2 HR round trip to field and stream to get one. If this is a corporate policy this is Rediculous. read more
