Walked into Camping World just to look over options on travel trailers. Hard sell the minute we walked in....contact info, what's your credit score, and made us wait by telling us he was copying off spec sheets when it was just waiting for the general manager to give us his sale pitch. This wouldn't been unexpected to some degree but we have a home in Fremont, which was flooded at the time. We explained we were just out looking as we couldn't get home due to the flooding and wouldn't even think about looking until we knew what kind of damage we had at home. They (salesman and manager) were unsympathetic and have since called, emailed and texted numerous times. I have bought two motorhomes from Camping World, I should have learned with the first one. I bought a brand new Thor Windsport Motorhome and have had it in to Camping World Council Bluffs more times than I can count. Do not buy a motorhome with a slide from here, from my experience they will not fix it. They have had my motorhome for over two weeks and have done nothing, they blame Thor, they blame old management, etc. I escalated my issues to the manager and he won't calI me back. We have owned several motorhomes and based on my experience I will buy from anywhere but here. I've never wrote a Yelp review, but I had to warn others. Watch out!! Camping world will steal your stuff and sell it to other people while its there in service! They stole my bathroom door while it was there to be service and sold it to someone else. That was last winter. This winter my camper has been there for almost 5 months and it's still not fix. Don't buy or service there unless you like this treatment. read more

Even spoke with corporate office in August, guess they are busy taking advantage of other people, still waiting for my return call!! People believe the reviews on here, this place is awful. Horrible service when we took our camper there for warranty service. They had our camper for the whole winter and still didn't fix the problems. My husband had to call multiple times and even show up in person to get any movement or work done on our camper. Then we get it back and the hot water heater doesn't work. Then it had water damage because they must have left the slide out some. I am completely dissatisfied with the work they did. No communication to what took so long. No communication for when we might get it back either. Now we have to take it back yet again to fix the water heater. Heard many excuses from their department and corporate headquarters. No excuse for the type of service we received. Buy elsewhere. read more

Sorry, this is kind of a long one... On August 21st, 2018 we took our camper in for warranty issue. The fridge didn't seem to work and so we scheduled a time to drop it off. Robert Bailey is the service guy that was at the desk, so he became our guy. He told us that they would get it in and get it taken care of right away. There was also a few other issues, but the fridge was our biggest problem. To make a long story short, today is July 24th, 2019 and the fridge is still not replaced. There were months of no communication. We would call, no callback, we would email, no response. There were lies about the state it was in and excuses as to why it was not done. During the process, we drove to Camping World 5+ times to pick it up because they said it was fixed, and it was not. They had the camper for months-and-months. They replaced things like the faucet even though it was not on the service ticket. During this time, we contacted the store director with no response. On April 25th, 2019, we came to pick-up the camper again because they told us it was done. It was not at all done, and it was trashed and there were new things broken. We got connected with a new service guy (James) and he was very concerned at the state of our camper and wanted to get it taken care of. However, it was his last day. He did take all our information to Eric Meyer (Service Manager) who we heard from that same day. Eric sent us an email saying "James is currently going over your issues with Nick (our new service guy) and I and as soon as we have a work order written I will get with my foreman and make this top priority." It was a breath of fresh air and we were excited to get this taken care of finally. However, we are still dealing with it. Nick has been more communicative, but he just has to keep giving excuses. First, it was the store would order the fridge, but then I never heard anything so I followed-up. Then they had to order it through the Starcraft, and it would be two weeks, but I never heard anything for a month so I followed-up. Turns out that order was "put in the order wrong" and now I would have to wait an unknown amount of time. During this time I would contact Eric and not hear back. Finally, I told them that I just wanted some fridge off the lot and they could wait, but I was told that was not an option. As we approach the 1-year anniversary of this service ticket, we still have no fridge in our camper. I am so disappointed, and I have lost all faith in Camping World. No one has stepped up, acknowledged how crazy this is, or taken action to fix it and make it right. We rent our camper out and we have lost over $3000 at this point in canceled rentals as well as hours-and-hours of our time on the phone, sending e-mails and driving back-and-forth an hour away to Camping World. There has been no extra effort, no reimbursements. I am a business owner, and if this happened to one of my clients, I would be bending over backward to make it right anyway I needed to. This problem is not just one person. There is a massive lack of communication, customer service and accountability at Camping World in Council Bluffs. Great place for a large selection of RV's and trailers.

First off, I had been extensively looking for campers and had visited places such Leach in Lincoln and Council Bluffs, Apache Campers in Bellevue and Lincoln, and AC Nelson. But this place by far was the worst experience of all of them. I'm not going to mention specific names because it doesn't help matters but they would not give me a price on a camper without doing a credit check even though I assured them I had good credit which is besides the point. I was very serious about getting a specific unit and wanted to get a price that I knew would be reasonable or at least a starting point and they would not get me a price without filling out further paperwork and whatever else they were requesting. I had gotten prices from every place from the mentioned above very easily so this struck me as odd. I had gotten prices easily from other states as well. Most that have done RV shopping can get quotes easily. But this place is a like a used car lot. You want a price other than the bs price on the camper? Good luck you need to go back and sit down in a cubicle and discuss matters further. With the delivery and/or garbage fees they tack on you don't know what your paying so you have to figure this all out making it difficult. They have strange pressure tactics that so out of the ordinary for rv dealerships it's very uncomfortable. I don't know it obviously works on some people but I only imagine they could sell so many more units if they gave clear cut pricing out the door, treated you good, and act like they really want your business. I know for a fact we would of purchased a camper there if they would of treated us right but it just didn't happen and we decided on a different unit at one of there competitors. I hope this place gets cleaned up because they do have a nice selection. read more

By far the worst experience I've ever had with a service dept of any kind. The sales dept was very accommodating. It has taken 2 months to get a jack installed. And it was under warranty. Nobody returns your calls, even though they tell you they will. When you call there, they treat you like an idiot. Completely incompetent. The men that work the service counter are too busy playing grab ass to help customers. Not sure about the techs in back, but the counter service dept needs to be completely replaced. Camping World, you should be embarrassed!! You all lost my business! read more

We have been waiting over 3.5 months for them to complete warranty work and it still isn't done. They have by far, the WORST service of any company I've ever dealt with. I would give them zero Stars if I could. Their sales tactics are shady at best. They make you fill out a credit app, pick out the camper you want, then go home and I'll call you and tell you if and what your financing would be and then you get to travel all the way back after they put the camper in good condition. I cancelled everything before we left and they still charged my credit card a $500 deposit. They said they would refund it but I had to do a credit bureau dispute to get my money back. They are so shady.... do not do business with them!! read more

I wish I could give them negative star, the salesman quoted payment and term. When we started paperwork loan term had double, they wanted to add 12,000 of extras to loan. When we did not buy add-ons the Finance manager said that not buying these add-ons would harm our credit score. This is the first RV and last RV we purchase from them. This place used to be an enjoyable place to come look at rvs (my husband and I recently bought one , not from here) but now it feels like I'm at a used car lot. Their sales people are ready to pounce and will not let you look at the rvs without one of them accompanying you like an extra shadow. Think of the most dishonest person you can think of, got that person in mind? That person is more honest and trusting than camping world can ever be. Get the smallest things you can think of in writing if buying something from them. There's over 500 campers where I camp and several people bought from them because we were told that they would come down there to service them. That now is not true. We have to tow them in or pay for a mobile service which was not what was talked about with anyone who bought from them. Thanks to Dave in parts , Chris in-store walk through, Sarah and especially Cory in the Service Department for the walk through on our rig, but mostly Justin in finance for a wonderful wrap up experience and filling us with confidence for choosing Camping World. Lots of attention to detail from start to finish today. Professional, courteous and generous - even gave us glasses to view the eclipse! Wish I could say the same for the RV sales staff - the communications there were not quite as up to par as the rest of our experience - a little scattered and not a ton of follow through - but all in all happy with Camping World and this location. read more

These crooks don't even deserve one star! Absolutely do not give them your SS number unless you plan on making a purchase. My husband and I did give our SS numbers before we realised we were being conned. We did not give a deposit like they asked and did not commit to buying a camper. They ran a credit check on us which is a strike on our scores I found this out through Credit Karma. I called and told them I will turn them in to BBB but come to find out I won't be the first. They told us how much the payment on the camper (I liked) would be but could not tell us how long the loan would be or what the interest rate would run. This is by far the worst service and communication that I have ever encountered. The sale was easy, and they are more than happy to collect that money. But picking up the RV, it was filthy, and far from what you would expect, spending that kind of money. Told them I would be back in 2 hours and it better be ready. That was the start of the horrible treatment and service, the day I picked it up! They like you in the store buying all the extras, but when it comes to warranty work, wow. It boggles me how they are still functional. I understand delays, and being busy, but they will not even return phone calls. According to them, they still have parts that have not come in, and it has been a month. You would think that someone would actually take control of organizing the service to enhance sales. I have talked with GM, corporate, sales, finance guy, anyone I could think of, and it goes nowhere. No one seems to care. Would be nice to hear from someone, however I doubt that will happen. I guess they do not understand that a unhappy person will talk to everyone about it. This day and age of social media, you need to be on top of your game. These people are certainly not. There are other options out there, in hindsight, I would have taken another option. I have more, just ask. Buyer beware! I would rate them lower than 1 star, but can not go any lower than that. Selection and sales process was great. Once you get your camper is when the worst service of your life begins. Not only did my brand new camper have items that broke within the first 24 hours, the awning that came with it was the wrong one so it did not work correctly. No one in service or management will let you know the status of the work. I dropped my camper off for the repairs over 5 days ago and until I got someone on the phone today, they did not even open the doors to look at it. By the way they had down on the paperwork I needed my camper back today. I have called them back a few times today to see when I can pick it up but cannot reach anyone in service to talk to. The receptionist takes my name and number but no one calls me back. It was a big mistake to switch from Leach Camper Sales to Camping World. Service department (which maybe they are just really understaffed which is not my problem) is the worst I have encountered. read more

Well the saga continues. They have now had my 2018 camper since October, When I dropped it off the second time for warranty work. I originally dropped it off in mid August for almost 2 weeks so they could diagnose and order parts. Since it would take some time to get parts in I said I would pick it back up and return it to its nice and cozy inside storage area where it sits when not in use. Thus I thought was helping them my not having it in the way (one less unit around). I called to schedule it to be repaired and was told they were waiting on one last part that should be in that week. Keep in mind this was October. When I dropped it off I said I would like to have it done by thanksgiving. I was told that shouldn't be a problem. Well Turkey day came and went as did X mas. Early Jan I started calling and leaving msgs with never getting a response. So I did a google review. Well I got a response from a wonderful Lady whom I have spoken with numerous times. I was informed that the service manager called and spoke with me about my camper. That's a flat out LIE. So have gone further into it and wanted GM to contact me that never happened. So I asked the lady from what I'm assuming is the corporate office to help some more. she did as she always has. Finally got a call from the service writer that I dropped it off with both times. First phone call was saying they just got in the correct color flooring and camper would be done that week. WHAT! They weren't suppose to replace the floor! Side note this is a $75k + fifth wheel. So we talked thought I had everything ironed out. Was told he would call me by the end of the following week. Never got that call. So once again back to who I am gonna call the corporate lady. SHe couldn't believe this. took 2 more days and I got a call from once again my service writer that camper would be done end of last week. I informed the him that I was not picking it up until I had a sit down meeting with the service manager and the GM. He informed the GM was out of the office until the following Tuesday (today) and he would call me to discuss. Wanna take a guess of who NEVER called today. So not only has my brand new camper had some issues that needed addressed, I have been lied to about being talked to and nobody seems to know what the hell is going on. That's why I am putting this review on here. I own my own business and am completely dumb founded on how they could treat a customer this way. Not sure where to go from here. My wife and I purchased a 2015 Dutchman Denali 316RES 5th Wheel trailer in October of 2016. When we went to sign the papers, we were told that the original warranty did not transfer to a second owner. (we found out later after reading the owners manual and talking to the Dutchman Corporation that the original warranty would transfer but only for the original 12 (Twelve) month period. After finding that out I contacted Dutchman as my "SIGNED CONTRACT" with Camping World had the unit's in service date typed in as Jan, 2015 and since we were experiencing several problems with the unit wanted to get them fixed while we still had 2 (Two) months left on the original warranty before we had to use the expensive "ELITE WARRANTY " that we were sold by Camping World. I contacted Dutchman to see how to get the problems fixed under the original warranty only to be told that our unit's actual min service date was Oct, 2014 not Jan, 2015 so we didn't have any warranty left, Camping Worlds answer to this was we weren't lied to misled when we were told the warranty didn't transfer it was that the sales manager "DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER" and on the in service date the answer was "THAT THIS WAS JUST A TYPOGRAPHICAL MERROR" except that on the information page for filling out the declaration page on the warranty it states that "IF THE DECLARATION PAGE IS NOT FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND CORRECTLY, THE WARRANTY IS VOID". I really don't have enough energy or space tom list all 22 (Twenty-two) defects that e encountered on our trip out west for the winter last year. I will tell you that I have a three binder almost full of copies of emails that were sent back and forth to camping World and the Marcus Rapid Response Team that handles complaints with the Elite Warranty program. Each time we were told someone would be in contact with us and something would be done about the problem. "NEVER HAPPENED". I was told that when we returned to Iowa to bring the unit to them and they would make the necessary repairs. We got back to Iowa in March 2016 and brought the unit to them for the repairs. It is now January, 2017 some 10 (Ten) months later and have just been informed that our unit should be done by the end of January. I also was emailed a bill that shows that after insurance coverage (THIS IS THE ELITE WARRANTY THAT WE WERE TOLD WOULD COVER OUR UNIT FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER FRONT TO REAR INCLUDING APPLIANCES) that's why it cost so much for $4000.00. They even stated that out of a courtesy to us they covered $565.00 themselves because they believe in having happy customers. I would really appreciate anyone who has had an experience like ours and found someone somewhere that would take the case to try to get satisfaction for us to contact me a 515-490-1738 or rchiesa1943@gmail.com.
