Not one to bash on businesses on here but have had a truly horrible experience with Camping World in Draper! No calls back so had to call three times. Two months have gone by with no answer on a warranty issue with our trailer we bought. Then more and more issues. We take it in and we're told 3 days it will be done including the warranty issue from two months ago. A week goes by and no word. So we call, get hung up on, call again get hung up on and call again, to hear a girl say "you're not the only customer", "we have many calls a day." Left message and no call back. They have you write a review the day of purchase for gift cards then ignore you when service or warranty is needed. I hate for anyone else to make a big purchase like this to be treated poorly and not get to enjoy their camper because "they're not the only customer" Good luck out there purchasers. The sales department mangers and GM are all bs. I bought a Winnebago Navion from them. I paid $1,200 extra to pick it up air the Iowa Winnebago factory. I was told it would be a fantastic experience. I wanted the RV with low to zero miles. I ordered a brand new 2018 model. It was built on a 2016 chassis and the coach was a 2018 only by title with none of the 2018 features now (three months after pick up) available with true 2018 coaches. The Mercedes Sprinter transmission failed and was replaced before 2,500 miles. The expensive Xite Infotainment system failed within 10 miles of the Winnebago factory. Although the mechanical issues weren't caused by Camping World (CW), they didn't feel responsible for the vehicle because as they put it, "We never saw the vehicle". These RV issues become hot potato issues with Mercedes, Winnebago, CW are pointed the fingers everywhere but at themselves. The biggest issue is the older chassis issue. The CW GM actually disingenuously suggested he had know way of knowing what year the chassis was when knowing id as simple as reading the VIN. These guys at CW washed their hands clean of me as soon as I legally owned the RV. CW is the JC Penney of the RV world. Never buy from them. NEVER read more

We purchased to RV From them the first one went well the second one was a RIPOFF !!! Check the paper work before you sign anything. On the first RV on the Service Agreement Declaration Page It says the purchase price is $27,695.00, on the Motor Vehicle Contract Of Sale It Also says $27,695.00. So we trade that one in. On the Service Agreement Declaration Page it says Purchase Price Of Vehicle is $25,000.00, Get to the Motor Vehicle Contract Of Sale they charged us $35.000.00, That's $10,000.00 more with no negative equity These guys BATE AND SWITCH then they charge for TIRE PRO, and Fabric Pro. Worst experience ever with any company. Lied twice about scheduling. Kept my trainer much longer than needed twice. Had to cancel camping trip due to last experience with them. They seldom answer the phone at the parts desk. The individuals at the desk are not customer friendly and made me the customer feel like everything they caused was my fault. Steer clear of this shady company. WAY OVER PRICED. Do you homework, you can find much better quality for way lower price. read more

They made recall repairs to my fridge and actually broke things in the process, making this situation go from bad to worse! Had to take it in a second time when I looked at the work they did. kinked and bent copper LP gas line to fridge, didnt tighten the LP shut off to the fitting it was leaking. Replaced only one of four screws for the ignitor. ran the new wiring all over the place instead of bundling together. When I picked it up the second time the gas leak was still present, and much worse! I think they found it and overtightened the fitting.. Now the shut off valve has a crack in it, and it leaks there as well, now. I was told they didnt find a leak. This is beyond negligent! read more

We bought a new Jayco in Feb of 2017 and my husband was talked into purchasing the extended warranty and gap insurance- told it was totally refundable within a certain period of time. That was on Saturday. On the following weekday, we called and said we had decided we didn't want those products, and had to leave a message. No one returned our call. We called again and left a message. No return call. Called again on Wednesday and insisted that we speak to someone, who then said he would start the process for the refund. Nothing happened again, so the following week we spoke to someone else, filled out a form, and started, what we thought, was the process of cancelling. Multiple other phone calls occurred with no progress. We then went to the dealership and were told there was a different form that needed to be filled out to get the refund, and did it then. They said the first part of the refund would be within 2 weeks, and the remainder within 4 weeks. We are now past both of those dates and have received neither refund. Fence sitting right now. 7/27/2016 We bought a new 2016 Jayco Eagle 344BHTS Bumper pull last Wed. 7/20/16. First trip last weekend we had a few manufacturer problems. Not a deal breaker. I brought the unit back yesterday and went over these issues and wrote up the ticket per our sales rep. Clint. and he will push to get us taken care of. I thought since we just purchased this and the first weekend we had a few minor problems i wont write down write now. (we went over all this at the turnover meeting. everything worked.) That being said. that we could have this fixed ASAP and not get on a 4-6 week waiting period. That would be a "Zero Stars" in book. So I am waiting to hear back from Service dept.. Have not a word yet from either sales rep. or service dept.. I will keep you tuned in on the progress. more to come. read more

Only one star because I select no stars. I had my roof A/C fail on the rad. I called the motorhome's manufacturer to get the correct model numbers for the newest A/C and thermostat. Called Draper and arranged the work when we arrived in Salt Lake City area. Spent the entire day there and just found out they installed an entirely different (and much cheaper) A/C unit and the wrong thermostat! I'm now 300 miles away and will have to work this all out with Camping World. Worst on the road service experience ever! STAY AWAY. read more

In August of 2016 my parents were looking to get an RV. They found one they liked at Camping World in Draper, UT. Camping World told them they would need a co-signer on the loan to get it, so they asked if I was willing and I said I would. My parents live about 4 hours away from Draper, so we made arrangements for my parents to sign their portion of the documents on a day that worked for them. I was not able to make it that day, so I went in the next day on my lunch break to sign mine. I went to Camping World, alone, and spoke with the loan officer there. We went over the documents rather quickly and I did not read them as closely as I should have, but I trusted that a company this large would be ethical and legitimate. I was told that the documents being signed were specifically co-signer documents, which was why they required my signature only, as my parents had signed their portion the previous day. One important thing to note is that I share the same first and last name as my father, the only difference is our middle names, which is never really included on these types of documents. All of the addresses on the loan were my parents, as it should be if I were co-signing, so it took about a year for us to start noticing some oddities with the loan. We were contacted by America First, the bank that the loan was with, and told that there was no insurance on the RV. Camping World had helped set up the insurance at the time of the purchase and had written it in my mother's name, which should be no problem as she and my father were supposed to both be on the loan. As it turns out, my mother wasn't on the loan. We did some digging trying to figure this out, with America First being the most frustrating and unhelpful bank I have ever encountered, and eventually we found out that the loan is in my father's name, address, etc. but my social security number is tied to it, and I am the lone person on the RV loan. So now we have a loan, in my name, but with none of my personal information except my social security number. None of the identifying information is mine, meaning America First wouldn't talk to me for months because the security questions don't tie back to my information, despite the social security number being mine. It took me 3-4 months to gain access to the account like I should have had in the first place. To this day we are still fighting the insurance issue, and in April and May alone I have made about 6 long calls to America First to try and sort this out, all unsuccessful so far. Now, we are nearly 2 years into this debacle and neither Camping World nor America First are accepting that they have done any wrong in this and simply state that I should have read the loan documents more closely. They may be right, I probably should have read them to avoid being purposely deceived. Although I would make the argument that I should be able to trust two established companies to operate ethically and in good faith, I suppose maybe that's a big ask these days. The loan payments have also raised multiple times because of the insurance issue, despite the RV being insured throughout this entire time. This has impacted me hugely, mainly with effects to my credit and debt to income ratios, making it very hard to do some things I had planned previously, such as buying a house. I don't expect that posting this will help fix my situation but hopefully it will help others avoid being treated unethically and running into similar problems which can have a very large effect on their financial health. read more

Best customer service ever! Alex isn't going to get a huge commission from us for buying a small used trailer, but he treated us like royalty! He was knowledgeable, listened well and was an interesting, friendly conversationalist. He went to bat for us during negotiations and absent were the usual dealer games. We gave him a number and he got it for us. The next weekend, we came early to pick up our trailer and found out the scheduling is very precise. Trailers had to be taken out of que and positioned for client hookup and the parking area was jammed. There was another schedule with finance for completing the final paperwork. It seemed like EVERYONE was picking up their new trailer on this sunny Saturday. Nevertheless we were accommodated with unwarranted grace. Spencer gave us a thorough grand tour of our new trailer making sure we knew everything about how it functioned and answering any questions. Alex and Cody fit us in to this intense weekend schedule to finalize the paperwork instead of having to wait an hour for our scheduled time. The whole staff is geared to make the task of finding and purchasing an RV as easy and pleasant as possible and they have a huge inventory to choose from! read more

I was greatly disappointed with the service and manor in which i was treated at Campingworld. My wife and I ordered parts and were garenteed that we would be serviced and sent on our way. The parts were ordered weeks in advance of the installation. When we arrived to have our camper repaired (from an hour away). We were assured that the repair would be done soon. We received a call an hour later that the parts for the repair were damaged and that they could not work on the camper then that we would have to wait weeks for the order again. When if the parts have been checked and switched in advance we would have been able to go. unfortunately that was not the case. then to top it off when we were preparing to go they lost the keys to our camper. I am normally a patent man but this is uncalled for. I wasted half a day with these people with no result for our benefit. They were unorganized and disrespectful and will never come for their service again. read more

Went there to fix an issue with battery discharge on my towed car. They fixed the issue that Tucson CW caused because they were inept. Can not say enough about how good the technician named Mike Crawford was. He even fixed other shoddy work the Tucson location did. Highly recommend him plus had a great attitude. read more

Warning! Buyer beware..we purchased a brand new high end Jayco from Quinten. He touted the 2 year Jayco warranty. We left and traveled home (350 miles) and found nicks and things that needed fixed. We took it to a local Jayco dealer only to have them tell us the warranty folks had been informed that Draper Camping World didn't make any note of anything so it would not be covered. There are 4 or 5 nicks in the wood. Sales guy didn't tell us to give it a look for anything that we wanted fixed before we left the lot. Called to see if he could help but nope, sale was done and he was done. Left a message for the general manager and never received a call back. No customer service after the sale. read more

I did get a good deal on a motor home but I would not recommend this location. We worked a deal for 2 weeks. Once we settled on a price I gave them a deposit and we set an appointment to complete the deal. the appointment was for 11:00. I was promised that the motorhome would be ready to go and I could do a final inspection prior to signing the documents. I arrived at the appointed time and immediately knew something was wrong when the receptionist looked for the appointment and had a puzzled look on her face. She told me to wait and left the desk. When she came back she said it would just be a few minutes. an hour later I was still waiting. The finance manager came out and apologized and gave me 2 $30 gift cards for my troubles. I overheard the receptionist say that the salesman was still 45 minutes away and that my appointment had be rescheduled for 1PM. NO ONE TOLD ME. I gave the gift cards to the receptionist and left. Of course they called several times to apologize and promised tp have everything ready if I came back. Against my better judgement I went back. We signed the paperwork and the motorhome was not ready for delivery. 3 days later I picked it up and they still did not do everything they promised to do. This is the second RV we have purchased from different Camping Worlds. The first one in Boise ID and then in Draper UT. We found they were adequate at the best. We love the RV, but the service wasn't what I expected. The salesman was very nice, but kept leaving to ask questions and it took most of the morning to fill out paperwork.. The finance person was pushy and the second one came in to answer questions that the first didn't know. I wasn't financing and still the contract was wrong. I can hardly wait and see if my emails will be answered with some things we found wrong with the RV when we arrived home. I plan to send this information to Keystone to let them know how there rv's are being sold. read more

Buyer beware! My mom and step dad just purchased a 2015 Vegas motorhome from Camping World in Draper, Utah and couldn't be more disappointed and angry over the experience. It truly is looking like a classic bait and switch experience. My mom is 82 and my step dad just turned 87. They are fairly healthy, so they jumped into the RV world by purchasing a "slightly used" motor home, getting ready to see the country on the road. The vehicle is very impressive on first, second, and even the third inspection. It is spacious, comfortable, and looks brand new. Within a week though, the impressive qualities have dimmed after my parents discovered some major flaws in the design and craftsmanship of the interior features. First of all, there are no sun visors in the cab, making it impossible to block the sun from anyone driving. My parents mentioned it to the salesman when purchasing it, he told them the company could order some and install them. The manager later said it couldn't be done. When my step dad had a Utah Highway Patrolman look at the motorhome, he said it was not road worthy without sun visors. Another issue that has shown up is the outside awning - it won't roll out anymore Some of the interior finishes show signs of deterioration and then major interior items have broken after pulling a door or blinds shut (the bathroom door will not stay closed while traveling, popping open with a loud noise, and when my mom pulled some window blinds down, they were shredded, a sign of sun damage). When the main dining area is pulled down to create a bed, the frame supporting the bed is too weak to support anyone using it! All the damage that keeps showing up is very suspicious and seems to be evidence of having had more wear and tear than was disclosed by the salesman and the dealership. Sun damage cannot happen if an RV is less than a year old. Issues like the dining area bed not being able to support weight is clearly a design flaw that probably cannot be repaired at the dealership. So after having the RV for only a few days, my parents first tried getting the needed repairs and then eventually tried to return it altogether. The really unfortunate part of this story is that Camping World has been TERRIBLE about taking care of the broken items and trying to resolve the dissatisfied customers they have. My parents have taken the motor home in for repairs multiple times now. When they leave with the motorhome, the service department ensures them that the issues have been resolved, but quickly my parents realize that the problems are not fixed. The company refuses outright to take the RV back, and even though a warranty is in place, the broken items do not get fixed. At present, my step dad has to put a board in between the wall and the bathroom door so it won't bang open and shut while they are driving. The salesman, Alex Connray, was so friendly, helpful, and chummy while the sale was taking place, but is now refusing his help and support. The experience is becoming a nightmare already, and when checking with the bank that is funding the loan, my step dad learned that even though the loan has not been processed completely and funded, there might be very little that can be done to recall the sale. (*See update below) Levi Anderson, the insolent manager of Camping World, told my parents that they would have to sell the RV on their own (passing on a very disappointing motorhome to another clueless buyer) or sell it back to them at half their purchase price. Mr. Anderson's behavior has been anything but professional, and his childish remarks and behavior have bordered on bullying as my parents have tried to resolve this issue. Now they are consulting their attorney, trying to get some legal leverage so this bad dream can come to a relatively satisfactory conclusion. Trust is so very important with a major purchase like a motorhome, and in my experience, I usually trust companies that have been around for awhile and give me reassuring evidence of trustworthy behavior. The take away from this experience though is that even if a company has been around for awhile, their business practices are not always honest and worthy of trust. My parents should have read some of the reviews here on Yelp before even stepping onto the Camping World property, but they aren't technologically aware, so they didn't know about the homework they can do online. Stay away from Camping World in Draper, Utah! You don't want to find yourself in the nightmare my parents are experiencing. *UPDATE* I just heard from my mom that after days of running around and talking to bank supervisors, my parents got a hold of the right people. The credit card down payment was reinstated, a clever employee at Bank of America realized that they don't usually allow loans on motorhomes, and they aren't sure how the loan even got as far as it did, but the end result is that they are going to refuse the loan so the deal won't go through. Brought my Jayco trailer to Camping World in Draper Utah for a water leak near the hot water heater. The water has leaked ever since I purchased the trailer (says something about quality control at the factory) told service writer of the issue how it leaks under the dining bench where the hot water heater is every time we use the water whether showering or using it in the sink. Left it there for over a month they said they could not locate any leak. I told him you cant just pressurize the pump you have to actually run the water through the water heater all the way to the back he said they did that. Went and picked up the trailer brought it home hooked up the water & pressurized the system and I found the leak within ten minutes on the hot water heater tank (two half inch nipples on the tank, input and output top and bottom of tank are leaking). So now I am fixing something I found (a warranty item no less) in ten minutes their service dept couldn't find in a month. They are either incompetent or worse, they lied about the work and I will probably have to take my trailer to Denver if I need any warranty work done because I do not trust Camping World in Draper, UT. Actually, this issue should have been caught at the factory since I purchased it brand new off the lot. Improvements are needed to your quality control at your factory. read more

So I posted my review which is not a good review about camping world because they have been horrible to work with because we spent a lot of money to purchase a brand new motor home thinking that it would be best because buying new you should not have issues. Boy was we wrong... we took our new motor home out the first time which we noticed several things that we brushed off because they was not to bad to deal with and could be fixed when we was not using it. The first night we had the carbon monoxide & propane alarms going off all night. The generator was working but we noticed it bogged out a lot but thought maybe because it was new maybe had a air bubble or something. The location we was camping at was very well shaded and not super hot outside so running the air conditioner it got cool inside but not as cool as we would have liked it to be but dealt with it. The second trip we took it on the minute we got to the camping spot we tried to start the generator and it wouldn't start luckily we brought the other generator just in case and it worked we turned the ac on and we could not get it cooled down in the motor home until the sun was down and it cooled down out side. My husband was checking the generator in the motor home and noticed that the inside of the door where the generator is had melted because the generator had got so hot that it melted it. I had got a really bad head ache and sick during this trip and realized it was probably from the propane leak which when we took it back to get looked at and repaired that they had found a propane leak and told my husband they fixed it and that we could come get it and my husband said well what about the generator and ac and they say well it seems fine now, well no kidding of course it works when you have it in a air conditioned shop take it out side in the heat and see how cool the ac is and how the generator runs. Which they said they did and it seemed to run with out issues.. which I can guarantee they never did.. I can not even explain how frustrated I am with the camping world! My brand new motor home should not have any issues & should not have as many issues as it does being it is brand new. Also when we took it in we told them we had a several trips planned and that we need everything fixed that week. We never got 1 phone call from them so we called to see the status so we could pick it up and they told us that they are going to look at it today after they said they was taking it in the next morning after we dropped it off. so we had to cancel the 1st trip we had planned then still no phone call from them so my husband calls again and they say yes it has a propane leak we will fix it asap, again my husband said we have a trip planned this week what did you find out on the ac and generator and wouldn't you guess it yep they haven't even looked at it yet. So it is not going to be fixed in time for a second trip we had planned so now we have canceled the 2nd trip. The way they have treated us and made so many broken promises to us and acting like they could careless that because of them dragging their feet we have had to cancel 2 vacations and probably a 3rd if it is not fixed this week. You would think that they would at least offer us a spare to use until ours was fixed or something to compensate us for the inconvenience but nope nothing and not to mention who knows how long it will take for them to repair all the other 15 to 20 issues we have found.. also we noticed there is no spare tire so my husband asked them about that and we get told that not all motorhomes come with a spare tire. Which I find that bizarre! What kind of vehicle does not come with a spare tire? So then I get a response from them on my review saying sorry for the inconvenience and the best way to contact them is by email. And thanking me for reaching out and that they would love the opportunity to provide me with the information I need and thanks me for my patience.. I just can't believe what a horrible experience we have had with them. It makes me sick to think about all the money we spent and how many issues we are having. This is unreal how much they really don't care about the customer after they have got the sale and got the money.. read more
