I want to give credit where credit is due. We had a bad sales experience at Camping World Asheville but bought a beautiful motorhome despite that. Although the sales experience was not good, the service manager and his department treated us great and could not have been more helpful. I complained about our sales experience to the Marcus "hotline" and also visited the General Manager of Asheville. The process worked. The corporate office working with the General Manager solved our problem above and beyond my expectations and we are very happy. The GM called me today to apologize and so did a representative from the corporate office. Things don't always go the way you want but you cannot ask for more when the organization lives up to its word and goes all out to fix the situation. read more

Purchase from: Camping World Ashville, NC Product purchased: 2011 Fleetwood Storm 28' I am writing this letter today to let you know how unhappy I am with camping world. At the purchase of my vehicle it took them nine hours just for me to get my financing, I can understand somebody with bad credit but I did not have bad credit. Six days later when I go to take delivery of my pre-owned RV, I was told the week before that would be PDI pre-delivery inspection. Not only was that probably not performed, but they didn't even clean the RV at all, disgusting inside you would think you would take a little pride, I'm also in the auto industry and I sell new and used Cadillacs, we take pride in cleaning our used cars as much as our new cars. I got within 5 miles of your dealership my AC is not blowing cold, my generator shut off on the way home thinking maybe that would help me with some AC in the car, if you guys truly did a pre-inspection you were to do that the AC wasn't blowing cold air in the cab and you wouldn't do that the generator will not stay on. If this is common hoe Camping World treats the guest in customers?, If it is not only will I probably never visit this company again, but I will definitely tell people to stay far away. read more

Save your time/energy/money when making this large purchase and take your business somewhere else. Bought a camper new in 2018- have had nothing but issues since. One time we had a repair needed to be done and our camper was there for 9 months! BBB was called and we had to threaten to file a lawsuit for them to fix our camper. Fast forward.... We wanted to trade up into a larger camper- went there since we bought it there. BUSINESS SUCKS! They are so rude and dishonest. We went in knowing the camper we wanted. Guy wanted to ride us around and show us comparisons (they do this to feel you out and see what you're willing to spend) I kept saying we were there for the one we came for. Dude bent-over backwards for us to gain our "business" and get us in his office (they work on commission). As soon as we did and got paperwork- we wanted to talk over the numbers/trade value they gave us- his tune changed to rude and pushy. When we said we'd call back and wanted to talk to our bank. They way he spoke to use was unbelievable. Needless to say- we didn't not trade there and went somewhere else the next day and traded our camper on the one we wanted hassle/haggle free. If I could leave less than 1 star I would... This is the worst place to go if you need something. I repeat... THE WORST. The staff is not knowledgeable and some are downright rude. I suggest if you need something wait for another location along your travels. We were here this passed Sunday a couple times and again today. Today, we had some keys made because nobody can make them on Sunday's, crazy huh? While at the service desk asking about having the keys made Scott Parrish asked the young lady behind the counter if they had a water station or if she knew where we could get water she said they didn't have it here but we could ask the gentlemen at the end of the counter. We waited a little bit almost got knocked over by a young man who works here as he ran at full speed like he was on a mission to put a fire out. The fire was a phone that he dialed and looked like he got no response. When the man got off the call he was on and we asked to have keys made he said he has never made a successful key and that nobody was there that could, we looked at him puzzled, and made reference to the time. He then said he thought it was later then it was and went out back to have someone make them. We asked for two of each key provided. The man that made the keys came out and gave the keys to Scott buuuuuuut he only made 1 of each, not two. Back he went to make the rest of the keys requested. Scott suggested the employees get training on what they offer and the man basically said it wouldn't matter. Scott stopped to let the first young lady that we spoke with know that they do have water so she could help others that may ask... she just looked at him with a blank stare. I can't believe I have to deal with this atrocity that is Camping World. The customer service here is horrible. I had a minor accident when coming out of Camping World that led to them having to deal with my insurance company USAA, who by the way is amazing, and when my insurance adjustor left multiple messages with Autumn and Justin Hawke (whom neither would return their phone calls) then USAA ended up sending me the check. When I couldn't get anyone to return my calls I ended up having someone else do the repairs. A month later when I needed warranty work done, Justin (service supervisor) decided to keep my camper until the $1200 worth of parts they ordered and he said couldn't be returned was paid. USAA is in the process of trying to resolve this issue, meanwhile Justin and Autumn says that there is no restocking fee and Keystone will not take back the parts which will lead me to return the camper back to the finance company. Thanks Justin and Autumn for ruining my credit. I will make sure to let it be known everywhere about the experience I have had with you and pray that you guys will improve. I forgot to mention that I'm a disabled veteran and they refuse to release to me my medical equipment that's inside the camper. read more

Their customer service is terrible. First, I called to check inventory and was forwarded to a cellphone voicemail allegedly shared by 2 employees. They did not return my call in a timely manner, so I re-called them. Just as I was to be forwarded again to nonresponsive employees, I asserted rather aggressively that I wanted to talk to a person and it was a simple aspect of business to check inventory. This person was incapable of checking inventory. They floundered around and asked for a SKU number which is not information available on the website for the item in question. I felt a sense that this poor employee was locked in a call center with only a phone and a computer with one form labeled "SKU" and a submit button. In other words, their business is a failure at life. Contrast this experience with Spartanburg's store, where I talked with a very knowledgeable and helpful employee. I am going to drive twice as far to deal with people who can guarantee the item I am looking for is in stock. Granted I will NEVER deal with campingworld again in my life. I need something this weekend and cannot wait for amazon.com to ship it. But rest assured because of this experience, campingworld has proven it is inept at business. And like so many businesses I very rarely deal with, the poor experience only validates my use of Amazon.com, which I recommend over everyone---and just a reminder for people who think this sounds like I'm being mercenary dealing with the brick and mortar destroying, price smashing behemoth that is amazon.com, I want to remind them that my business was theirs to lose and that amazon simply does better business so I'll be doing 90-100% of my purchases online except in cases where I begrudgingly have to deal with the old school braindead brick and mortars like campingworlds read more

We purchased an RV in July 5. I was trading in another camper. This was the worst sales experience I have ever been involved in. I had driven from out of state to trade. Looking back now I should have walked away from the deal. The original sale price was not honored, they tried to make me pay for improvements on the camper I was trading, information was not sent to the bank I was financed with until I called, my new camper registration info and money was sent to 2 States and not enough money to cover taxes and title. Friend of mine took their camper there to get a ladder replaced and they put the wrong one on....3 times. My family friend were without their camper for 4 MONTHS. Do NOT leave your valuables with this company. They were suppose to replace a hole in the wall. They decided the best way to do this was to put BLACK DUCT TAPE over the hole. we went to this location because of not getting the assistance we wanted from their Knoxville location, but found out it doesn't matter which location you go to, the management team sucks. The salesman we had was good and showed us several campers like the one we were looking for, took all our credit information took it to credit manager for approval,,, came back and said everything looked good. took our banking information to get down payment, we said we would be back in a week to pick the trailer. we then put over 1000.00 worth of work on vehicle we have to be able to pull it. when we got ready to go and get it a week later, we were told their was a problem and we did not qualify for loan. was told a manager was to call me and let me know the week before. I never got the call,,,, if I had I would have waited to buy trailer hitch and brake controller . they need to be more upfront with customers and not lead them on. very poor management team read more

I can't review the sales department, but the service I received was shoddy and incomplete. Took my fifth wheel in for a new A/C, recliner repair, and an issue with the oven not lighting. Got a call within a week that it was ready. Since I live an hour away I told them I'd be by the next day. When I got there, I was told the A/C replacement would have to be paid in the parts department, and the rest could be paid for in the service dept. (?) My wife went to the parts to pay for that part while I stayed in service. She was ignored while the clerk chatted with the receptionist and then when they finished talking my wife was treated rudely by the blonde girl who waited on her. Meanwhile I told the service clerk that I would like to try out everything before I drug the RV an hour down the mountain in SC. He either didn't hear or ignored me. He called on the radio to have my RV pulled to the front, and the response I heard was that as soon he dropped the one he was moving he would get mine moved. As my wife and I waited for over 45 minutes two other RV's were moved to the front. Finally, I flagged down the fork lift driver and asked where my 5th wheel was. He said he thought someone else was getting it. Took a while to hook up because the landing gear was way low and the battery was dead. Got home and the oven problem was repaired and because it was so chilly I think the A/C is working. However, the recliner broke the second time I tried to recline. And the twin recliner/center console set was not reattached to the floor. I called the service department and voiced my dissatisfaction and that I wanted the labor cost back. The solution was to bring the RV back the following week and they'd pull the tech off whatever he was doing to fix my recliner. I told them I was not pulling the RV back up the mountain for them to fix what should have been repaired in the first place. I was told the service manager would call me on Saturday to work something out. It is now Tuesday evening and I haven't heard from the service manager. BTW, I fixed the recliner my self. Took about 15 minutes. Totally unacceptable service. read more

On July 21, 2017, we brought our RV into Camping World of Asheville, NC. It needed wiring repaired, dash air repaired and we agree to the 45 point inspection. We were told the RV would be completed in two weeks. We actually ended up picking it up 2 months later on September 21, 2017. This date was the third time we were told it was ready. In each case, it was not completely fixed. On one of the times we went to pick it up, they said the generator was checked and working. However it only ran for 30 seconds and quit. They said the levelers were all working but when tested only three worked; one did not. We found out they never tried to order the proper part because they assumed they could not get it. The last time we went, the levelers did not work. Once again we told them this was unacceptable. They pulled it in the bay and came back and showed us it worked so we took it. Upon getting it back to our storage area, we tried to put the levelers down and only one would work. We tried to put the slides out but they only went a short distance and stopped. We were barely able to get them back in. I measured the chassis batteries and they were both dead. I was told they had checked the batteries but obviously they had not been done. They would only hold a charge for a short period of time. This is why when they plugged in the unit in the bay, they could operate the levelers and slides. However, when they brought it to the lot for my inspection, the batteries were too low to operate anything effectively. After their initial inspection, we authorized them to peel back the roof and reseal it. However, it appears it was only caulked. We felt we were overcharged for that. They offered to reinspect it. I did not take it back because, at this point, as I do not trust them to do anything. It was a constant annoyance being told that the unit was repaired only to find out it was not. We were without the use of the unit during two months of the summer and we had to complain to Camping Work Corporate and dispute the charge just to get someone to (poorly) resolve this situation. Needless to say, we will never deal with this location again. We ended up taking it to Miles RV which was very close by and they did an outstanding job. read more

Customers beware...I went in for a NC inspection costing 13.60 ended up with a bill for $183.95 (that is including tax of $10.76.) for installing 3 bulbs to pass the inspection.!! Bulbs cost $15.96 plus shop supplies for 8.62? I am not sure What supplies does it take to install 3 tail light bulbs? Unscrew a clastic cover, twist off bulb /replace new bulb and replace plastic cover.. the inspection and bulbs with supplies cost 38.19 plus labor total $148.60 - REALLY? I feel I was taken advantage of. How much time/ charges for labor does it take for 3 light bulbs.? Unhappy AGAIN with Camping World. read more

Alvin Doctor, the black sales manager raised the bar for this pack of criminals. Caught for being what he did naturally, a thief in the night! LOL, and you know that really shook the branches of the thieving going on in service and parts. Maybe now people will be on guard when shopping at these places where there is so much room for "profit"! I negotiated a price on a travel trailer,OTD, but when service came to me and said there will be 1400.00 in repairs before I can take the trailer I knew the thieves are alive and well. Coincidentally, that was the price difference I negotiated down to. I asked the sales manager how did your techs miss all that on trade in check up? He said, they don't check them on the way in, only at time of delivery so the customer will pay for repairs! I never heard of anything like this before and knew right away the scam I was involved in and quickly ended the deal. I went to Miles RV and bought a similar trailer a year newer for $2000.00 less and NO BS! If your going to do business with this location you better bring the police, a lawyer and you gun, you'll most likely need at least one of them.... read more

We traveled over 350 miles to purchase a 2017 motor home on April 8, 2019. During numerous phone calls to the dealer, calls were always answered promptly. It took 8 weeks for the paperwork for our tag to be sent to Alabama. 8 weeks!! After the license department notified us the paperwork had arrived, we took the motor home for inspection and to get the tag. Inspection went fine but the check sent by Camping World was incorrect so no tag. Numerous phone calls and messages to Melinda went unanswered. Finally speaking to a manager got Melinda on the phone. She promised to send the correct check. 3 more weeks pass with numerous unanswered phone calls and unreturned messages. Finally we emailed management. The next day a message is left for us that CW had mailed the check on May 8 which was not correct as that was the original date we went to the courthouse. On May 28 our license department received the correct check. Since our 30 day NC tag expired on May 8 we could not use the motor home for 3 weeks and we had to pay a penalty for the late tag. Very frustrating to deal with people who have no interest in you after the sale. read more

We bought a 2019 camper, had problem with holding tank lights and leak in bathroom. Took back 3 times, still not fixed. I had to call Starcraft Warranty myself. Waited 2 weeks for appointment, took it our there on day and before we got there they were calling saying they had 40 come in over weekend and they couldn't get to us for 2 weeks maybe. This has been going on since July, now Sept. I love the camper, but their service is the worst I have ever seen. When you buy something new, you expect it to work. They have their money, you have something that don't work and can't get fixed. I will never buy from them again. If we need work in future, we will find someone else. Usually we bypass this chains Spartanburg store to go to Hendersonville because the staff is more knowledgeable and pleasant and they have a larger selection. But today - if this had been our first visit it would have been our last. We were greeted by a guy who asked what he could help us with. We told him portable propane grills. Then he asked the cashier where they were and passed us off to her. Her young daughter was apparently with her at work and just about knocked me over running after her mother. Then we found a model we liked but there was no pricing info anywhere near it. Back to the front to the cashier. She was clearly annoyed and pulled a tag for $159 off another grill and then proceeded to tell us it was the display model and they didn't sell displays. I looked up the sky on the mobile camping world app and located the sky for $74.43. Went back to Ms Personality and asked if there were any more in stock. Waited for 20 minutes and asked again. That clerk told us there were two in stock and asked her to get us one. She came back and told us one was in clearance ($65.50) with no returns policy. The other one was the display with no documentation and no box. We decided to pass. Checked out with almost $400 worth of other stuff. Decided to stop at camping world Spartanburg and they did have one new one in stock. They would price match but had to charge us shipping of $9.99. We bought it. I hope the buying process was much more difficult than putting it together, setting it up, and using it. I am very disappointed in both camping worlds. We don't hear much good about them but we've never personally experienced it before. read more

Probably one of the worst Camping Worlds for customer service we have encountered. I called 3 weeks ago checking on new steps for our 5er. The girl that answered the phone said she didn't know if they were in stock so she gave me to parts. I left 4 messages on 4 consecutive days. After not getting a return phone call we drive there on August 19. I asked the girl at the front (after she was done texting) for service and she told me they didn't work on Sunday. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me they don't work on Sunday either and we would have to come back. A young guy overheard me talking to her and her offered to help us. He said the item wasn't in stock and he took my name, phone number and item number and said someone in parts would get back to us in the next couple of days. Now it is 10 days later and still have not heard a word from anyone there. I won't be going back there!! read more

I evacuated to Ashville during hurricane Florence and while there I found out from neighbors that my house flooded. And since I was in Ashville I went to Camping World to buy a travel trailer so I could have someplace to live while my house was getting fixed. They sold me a used 18' trailer for $11,900. I thought this was a little high but I had no experience with travel trailers. Later I found out that the full retail value of the trailer I bought is only about $7000. Granted I should have done some research but when your house is flooded and you also lost three cars and a truck it's a hard to think straight. I would not advise anyone to do business with this company. read more

We had an electrical issue with our Winnebago Sightseer and AJ was able to get us right in. The service tech was fast and thorough... simple fix... just reset the inverter. We are newbies and still learning. But the service tech told us to buy different batteries that would hold a charge longer. Also said to think about upgrading to a better inverter. Out the door within an hour. Very nice store, friendly employees. read more
