My husband and I recently had a very disappointing experience with Camping World in Kodak, Tennessee. We are currently living in our camper in another state while trying to find a permanent home, so having working utilities is extremely important. On Friday, February 6, 2026, my husband went to Camping World in Kodak to quickly purchase a tankless water heater after ours stopped working. He found one for around $400. However, no one informed him that an additional door would be required for installation, which resulted in another trip back to the store and an extra $200 purchase after opening the box. More importantly, no one explained that once the water heater is installed, it cannot be returned or exchanged. This is critical information that customers should be told before making a purchase, especially since there is no way to test the unit without installing it. Unfortunately, after installation, the water heater did not work. My husband confirmed that power was reaching the board, but the board was not sending power through the system, preventing the unit from turning on despite multiple attempts. The unit was defective, and it had only been about three hours since purchase when he returned to the store for assistance. Camping World refused to allow a return or exchange and instructed us to contact the manufacturer for warranty service. While the manufacturer has been willing to help, warranty processing takes time, and because we are currently living in our camper in another state, we could not go without hot water. As a result, we were forced to purchase another water heater from a different company for approximately $350 and rent a hotel room just to shower while waiting for the replacement to arrive. Thankfully, the new unit works perfectly. Due to the lack of communication, customer support, and understanding from Camping World, our family and friends have decided to take their business elsewhere for campers and accessories. In fact, our daughter was prepared to purchase a camper from Camping World next week but has since decided to buy from another dealer after hearing about our experience. read more

Working with the Kodak, TN location has been nothing short of a nightmare. We listed our camper for sale on Facebook Marketplace, and after about two weeks, we were contacted by Amanda Thompson, the consignment coordinator for this company. She pitched us options, we signed a contract, and agreed on a set amount we would receive once the camper sold. At first, everything seemed fine--we were satisfied with the deal. But during the entire contract period, we only got ONE offer. Then, once the contract expired, Amanda suddenly called us back and pressured us into accepting a purchase price $5,000 less than what was originally agreed upon. Against our better judgment, we reluctantly agreed because we just wanted it done. She assured us she had filed for a clean title verification. That was TWO MONTHS ago. Since then? Nothing. Amanda will not respond to calls, texts, or emails. Radio silence. This company--at least this location--is completely untrustworthy, unprofessional, and impossible to deal with. I just had a successful experience at Camping World buying a new RV camper trailer and the sales person was Carl Hames. He was very professional, knew everything about the campers we seen which was about a half a dozen and was very patient with me with all my questions on them. He was comical at times, but everything said he was a top rated sales person which I would do business with and recommend to my buddies. Other people that help me this weekend was Cody in service. Mr. Jacob Rogers in parts did a great job and Mr. Rick service manager all contributed to a successful experience. read more

Lisa the sales agent was great. I have a problem with the sales manager and I won't use or advise anyone to use Camping World. We bought a travel trailer and got the usual run around and had to come back the next day to pick it up. We had to take two cars to eat the trailer as we were heading north. We asked the Sales Manager to let us keep our extra caring the parking lot until we got back. The sales manager said a big fat NO. Options were to drive back home which was an hour and a half in the wrong direction. Needless to say we found a place to park our car and it was towed. The sales manager owes us $500.00 to get the car plus time to come back to Sevierville to get the car. We just bought a trailer from them and they treat you like dirt. We bought a brand new (over 100k) park model camper from them about a year ago, that experience was fine, but the repair service is absolutely awful. We live 3 hours away from our camper location and have been supposed to have a new washer brought to us FOUR times now and they have never shown up. It is very inconvenient they say they will be there then do not show because my mother has to drive 3 hours to sit and wait. Today, she called and asked if they were coming (because they usually do not) and they said they were loading the new washer up. They arrived and to her surprise, there was no new washer. They said they needed to 'check and see if she really needed a new one'? but why lie and say you are LOADING IT UP and BRINGING IT and not do that? TO A PAYING CUSTOMER?? THAT HAS SPENT OVER 100,000 DOLLARS? they give you a warranty but it is no good because they won't show up. By the time they actually come and do what they're supposed to do the warranty will be up. We have called and called, only the Service Manager will talk to anyone, and the only words that come out of his mouth are just lies. The general manager will never talk to her. All any of them do is lie, even the service people. They claim they are bringing the washer tomorrow, but I highly doubt it. This is a MAJOR inconvenience on our family and specifically my poor mother driving 6 hours total to the camper and back just for them to bring a new washer and them not even show up. Our BIGGEST mistake in this whole process was buying a camper from here. If we could do it all over and knew then what we know now, we would have taken our business elsewhere. Our whole family is pissed and inconvenienced. Camper world does not care about their customers once they have the money!!!! I recently sold my travel trailer to Camping World in Kodak Tennessee. I wanted to avoid the time spent showing and demonstrating the RV to prospective buyers. Knowing that I would be offered less selling to the dealer...I gave it a shot. Kimberly B made the process easier than I thought possible as she went over every detail of the process and options available to me 'the seller.' I received a very fair price (the same amount quoted pre-inspection) after a 3 day inspection period, and received a check overnighted the day after the inspection was complete! Unfortunately, I must share that our experience at the Kodak Camping World store was, the most disappointing customer service we have encountered in our 25 years of purchasing RVs across four states. Despite our long history with RVs, the lack of communication and professionalism during our recent attempt to downsize was alarming. We worked with our salesman, Alan, to come to an agreed-upon price. Unfortunately, this was the end of a positive shopping experience. When we left the store, we were told to return on Thursday, with a cashier's check for the final purchase. During this discussion, I informed Alan that I was a teacher so my husband would take care of all of the paperwork for this transaction. At no time did he state that I would have to be in attendance, even when we discussed how the names were to be on the title. Unbeknownst to my husband when he showed up at the Kodak Camping World store for our appointment, the receptionist said he wasn't on the schedule. Mike came out of the office and informed my husband that the appointment had been moved to Friday. Mike then pressed my husband to contact Good Sam's anyway so "Alan could get the points". In addition to my husband's surprise, he was informed for the first time that I had to be present to sign the title. Subsequently, my husband had to reschedule the appointment after 4:30 PM so I could be in attendance. When we returned to Camping World again later that same day, we checked in with the receptionist who again informed us that we did not have an appointment scheduled for 4:30 PM. Approximately 15 minutes later, Mike approached us to meet in the finance office. His demeanor was unprofessional and not reflective of the customer service we have come to expect from other RV dealerships. When I asked him why it was not explained to me that I needed to be present for the walk-through and paperwork, he told me that if I was going to "have an attitude he would just make us wait our turn as he was just doing us a favor", even though we had made an appointment for this time earlier in the day. At this point, we told him that we did not want him to do us any favors nor did we want the trailer. He returned the cashier's check and our deposit. I was especially disappointed that at no time did the general manager, Stuart, even attempt to talk to us about our shopping experience or why they were losing a sale, even though he was sitting in the glass area in the finance office right in front of where we were seated the entire time we were in the store. Later in the week, I contacted the corporate office and was to be contacted by a regional manager, Marcus, who sent me a message stating he would investigate and get back to me, but after 1 1/2 weeks, I guess it was not important to them either. Subsequently, we went to a competitor and purchased a similar model from their lot. If you are in the market for a camper, I would highly recommend avoiding this store! read more

Bought my RV on sept 7th 2024 at Camping World Kodak TN. We were told to pick up on Sept 11 2024 so we were very excited so we cut or vacation short to pick it up. Wasn't ready so we lost the days rental on our vacation and a day from our vacation. along with several other issues listed below. 1. mattress was covered in blood stains and was told it would have a new mattress in it when we picked it up. took over a month after we picked it up to finally get it. so we had to cancel our first camping trip that we had reserved on their word it would be ready. 2. The 90 minute walk through we were forced to pay a whole lot of money for took less than 15 min. I had to google how to winterize it because they guy giving the tutorial simply said ( you owned a camper you already know everything I can teach you). When I mentioned this to them they pretty much called me a liar and said well they guy said it took over 90 minutes! had 3 witness with me sooo I suppose we were all lying. 3. during walk through I noticed a decal was removed from the front overheld cowl. I asked about it and was told it was just a decal applied by the previous owner and it had been removed. Turns out it was a decal from the Rental company that used to rent it out! I was told it was a 1 owner but never told it was a rental! illegal in Tennessee to sell a rental without disclosing that fact! 4. was told all plumbing was pressure tested. When I ran water through the system the gray tank valve leaked everything into the underneath storage compartment. Was it really checked... I think not. 5. was told everything was serviced and ready to go. Well when we got it home the oil was completely black and according to the window sticker about 1000 miles overdue and the air filter was almost complexly clogged with dirt. Cost me close to 300.00 for a service! 6. was told the 2pin holes in the canopy would be patched and all fixed up. Well guess what.. they were not. 7. was told it would be cleaned up and ready to go camping. It took me and my wife 3 hours to clean it up and remove all the dead stink bugs out of it. 8. have called, emailed and messenger messaged over and over and over and promised they would call and resolve all these issues... well I'm still waiting. But I did receive a grey tank valve in the mail from them today for me to install. We love the RV but will never do business nor recommend them to anyone. their online social media team has reached out to me and said they will call me within 2 days to resolve all of this as well. That was 4 days ago. They said they are still trying to get them to call! I have saved every message and have all documents and witnesses getting ready to send in to the better business bureau and then continue on from there till I get it resolved! read more

I ordered a camping outside sofa from Camping World in Knoxville. They charged me 25% of the chair cost as shipping. Then when I returned it due to bad material and comfort BRAND NEW they sent me a return label, ASSURING me return shipping would be free since I already paid for it once. They charged me again to return it with their free shipping label. I look at Campers there online quite regularly. WON'T BE DOING THAT AGAIN. They are absolutely incompetent & lack the care, concern or knowledge it takes to earn repeat business!!! They over-promised & under-delivered throughout all of our interactions with them....rather than spending your hard earned money with these clowns, go to the circus instead!!! We purchased a brand new 5th wheel, paid 1/2 the sales price in cash (financed the other half) & they still delivered a dirty, broken unit!!! Out of desperation to get our issues addressed, I reached out to their CEO Jon Dawson & he even underdelivered on his promise to remedy the issues with our unit!!!! This place & their sales staff are the epitome of inflated jackass ego's selling rv's!!! Despite the preliminary credit check, the sales manager ran our credit with 8 different lenders which caused ours scores to drop more than 100 points!!!! Any experienced finance professional would never do that because the preliminary credit check tells them which lender will be the best fit for the buyer rather than selecting lenders that pay the company the most commission on the loan!!!!! I want to update the review I previously wrote. I spoke to the service department about all the issues on my $50,000.00 unit. Was told I was an hour away and they pressured me as to why my warranty may not cover the service fee. I called my warranty company and they assured me they would cover all but $50.00. I'll eat the $50 for service, I didn't care. The service department then put me off. I figured out my repairs myself only to go on another month and in the dead of winter cold to lose all of my heat, smell a plastic burning smell and the electric fireplace is now never to work again. I live in this thing. I call service again for warranty issues, and am told it may cost me money for a service call, I'm an hour away, I should find someone else closer to me and if I chose them to do repairs, I could wait another week to freeze to death because now nothing is working correctly. This is my first camper living situation and I'm only doing it to build my house. It is temporary. I know I paid $10,000.00 too much for this thing, am a woman and feel like they saw me coming. I will never call them, work with them or talk to them again. When you sign the paper SOLD AS IS remember BUYER BEWARE even if you get the warranty. Don't bother answering this Camping World it's all wind. Only money to fix this nightmare will ever redeem your lies. Like the the lies your manager told when he was saying everything would be perfect when I took possession in front of my witness. You said you would eat the repair costs before turning it over then never revealed those repairs and costs when I took possession. read more

Purchased RV July 30th, 2024 did not receive all documents after signing. Canceled optional warranties/products on August 7th, 2024 totaling approx $5,000 still have not received refund as of this review (2 months and counting). Communication is one sided, you get an email from them and when you respond, nothing! Paint & Fabric protection is NOT needed for $1795. Ask them to show you how they apply. Warranties pricing is inflated. Sales price, taxes and title that is what you are required to pay. They should ask your interest in optional products/warranties before adding to the bottom line. Nice campers but watch out for the add-ons. Get your own insurance quote from the company YOU want to work with like your local insurance agent. I waited this long to post this review in hopes Camping World would do the right thing. I have never waited this long to get my money back from canceling warranties/products. Camping World would not want me to share their responses to the public. Working with the salesperson in finding the camper that fits are checklist was great. Large selection at Kodak, TN location. I would highly never recommend buying a camper from this location! They will work a "great deal" verbally tell you one thing and you will sign for a completely different thing. When they finance man that you are singing with is explaining the paper work as you are signing they tell you what you wanna hear and when you later look at paper work they screw you. Then when you call to ask questions we were hung up on multiple times, given the run around, and then finally after them not hearing us out told the general manager would call us, which he never did and hung up on. They will not hear you or help you which tells me this is just how they operate business. We have owned many campers and bought from various locations, including camping world and have never received the fraud treatment we have by this location! April 8 I got the camper back finally. They replaced the bedroom AC unit. Took it out for a night to check it all out. Both batteries were dead and no longer hold a charge. They are a month out of warranty so needs 2 new ones. When flushing the black tank the non return valve was broken and flooded the bathroom with clean water and the black tank was full when I dropped it off empty. Never going back. The valve I ordered from Amazon and will change myself. Ordered 2 new batteries from Amazon as well. read more

Me and my wife bought a brand new camper (2023 forest river wildwood platinum) 6 months ago and at the dealers suggestion we purchased their extended warranty. We were initially pleased with it, we only towed it twice. However I went out one day and noticed mold growing in several places inside of our camper. After looking closer we noticed the slide out was not properly sealed and would not align with tracks causing damage to floor and walls. There appeared to be water damage as well from the leak. Like any consumer would I called the dealer and dropped it off for them to look at, when dropping it off they were a little evasive when I asked questions about the repair process, and the Service dept said they will have to wait on the manufacturer to respond before they can start repairs without a timeline of when I will receive my camper back. I'm currently waiting on general manager Zachary Rand to get in contact with me to explain next steps. Hopefully they will correct the situation, I will update this review on the issue after it is resolved. read more

Camping world is the most disgusting place I've shopped. The way the sales manager and general manager spoke to me was appalling. I was told to "sit down and take a chill" while we waited on our refund check. We were also promised a reimbursement for our campsite we booked since we didn't have our camper when we were told we would. When we came to collect we were told they wouldn't. I was a full time RVer for 4 years and am very familiar with these units and service. My friend just purchased a brand new Class C from Camping World In Louisville TN. After having several extras installed such as a wifi unit and satellite dish the price tag is quite a bit. Therefore one would expect the water heater to work and several other things that didn't. The appointment to get them fixed was a joke, the whole day was wasted waiting for it to be worked on. Returning a second time finally got some results and some parts were ordered with no idea how long they would take. Important plans that had been made to travel were delayed two weeks now. It seems that once they get your money they take all the time they can to do what you need because it's warranty work. I wish I had gone somewhere else. read more

Well what's on my mind. Please get the word out about Camping World in Louisville, TN. Please share. I need help if anyone can help me. I took my camper to Camping World which is where I bought it a year ago to have some repairs done. Three weeks later they still have it and I haven't heard from them as of yet. I called and left a message for Austin, I think the girls name is Brandy and also for the Service Manager Patrick last week and I still haven't gotten a call from anyone as of yet. After two weeks of being there it still didn't have anything done to it. The sad part I have a warranty through Good Sams. We had a camping trip planned for Labor Day that we had to cancel cause nothing was done. It went in for A/C freezing up and they told me that the filter was dirty and I told them that's a lie cause we had cleaned it and it was still freezing up on high. The rubber pieces won't stay on the toy hauler garage door, the curtain close-sure that zips close when you open the garage door the zipper is broken and then I requested for the wheels to be repacked and the roof to be sealed and cleaned. Nothing. I'm very disappointed. I will never buy another camper from Camping World and to think I use to work there too. We have vacation scheduled for September 30th through October 7th. I just wonder if they will have it ready by then?? read more
