If you're planning on stopping at Camping World in Ridgeland, South Carolina and you're in a motorhome towing a car DON'T DO IT. After you have already turned in, you will realize there's a gate in front of you that's shut. When it was time for us to leave, they would not let us go through the gate to turn around. When you are towing a car you can't back up. So we had to unhook the car, turn it around, turn the motorhome around then reconnect everything in order to leave. We come here every year with our motorhome and never had a problem until this year. We will never come back. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! They will not communicate with you about your camper and don't even try to call. The receptionist will answer and tell you no one is at the service center desk. You will leave a message and never receive a return call. After many times doing this you will then become beyond frustrated! Our camper was there 4 weeks and was never repaired with no explanation as to why. The salesman was friendly at first, but since then we have been lied to, ignored, and it has been a horrible experience and a huge mistake to have ever stepped in the door! I wish we had heeded all the negative reviews and warnings online and stayed away. Just about everything we were told initially was a lie. They truly are thieves and swindlers and will say and do anything to make a dollar. HORRIBLE experience!!! Wish we would have never darkened the doors of the place. The numbers & paperwork did not match what was agreed upon & now we're being ignored & no one is returning phone calls or accepting them when we call. We live 1.5 hours away, so going to the store is not an easy option, & you'd think they'd want to fix their mistake so they can process the paperwork, but obviously not. The people are shady, unprofessional & down right dirty. We are so done with these people & this place that we want to return our brand new camper that was purchased 5 days ago, but unfortunatley we can't. This business needs either a complete staff overhaul or shut the doors because it is an utter disgrace to customer service and doesn't deserve to be in business. So our frustration and dismay with Camping World continues. Seriously, we had to bring in our brand new fifth wheel for more repairs. That was in October, it is now January and our RV is still there. Uncommunicative, evasive, unprofessional, unskilled, unorganized, sloppy, excruciatingly slow, and just down right horrible. We are now seriously contemplating if this purchase was even worth it. It was our first foray into the RV lifestyle after being boaters for more than 35 years. I'm ready to just chuck it. Camping World, you made us not want to be the owners of a fifth wheel. I shopped in the store spending over 3k on the second day they were opened in Ridgeland, SC. I also enrolled with the club and good sams . I was delighted to shop at a new local store but that changed and only worsened. It took Almost 3 hrs to buy a gun because of of disorganized employees , just taking people at random when you waited in line , ridiculous. They also sold me a piece of garbage holster I have to return . I purchased a atv because they said they deliver , now stood around for another hr. Because I found out that was incorrect I was lied to and the store manager had to make special arrangements to have it delivered to my home 2 days later , but trying to put it off for yet another time .The best experience was the 3 delivery men who were professionals who delivered the atv. So it's delivered , no manual, won't start , I discovered the battery was not connected , I connected it and still no luck starting. I am putting a charge on it hoping it will start . I had to research the product online to figure out where the battery was how to start it etc... for another 2 hrs. I called the manager told her the atv didn't work , she stated no return policy I have to call the manufacturer. I also told her it had a big scratch on it. The manager was non professional, and acted like she didn't give a rats behind about the whole situation. Opinion is the staff are not helpful, lie to sell, the manager needs to be replaced by someone who can lead employees . The manager led me to believe you bought it , can't return it kiss her behind and be done with you . Not happy at all !!! I charged up the battery and according to the online manual and had negative results after fruitless repeated efforts . The bottom of the receipt has the CEO's number on it if your not happy call him is what it says . I texted the number twice with no response . If I'm not refunded and they don't pick up this hunk of garbage I'm Going to report it the the SC. Commerce commission as well as the BBB and each and every social media platform on the face of the earth . What a terrible , terrible experience and ruin of an otherwise great weekend . read more

This has to be one of the worst managed and operated businesses I have ever dealt with. Everyone in the building has a scowl on their face and could care less if you get good service or not. They can't even sell me parts without screwing that up. Personally I have no further use for this company at all and will discontinue any dealings with them. My little dollar not coming in will not hurt them. They will continue to make money in spite of themselves! Not saying there aren't some fantastic employees in the building but the corporate side of the business has their hands tied with all the policy and procedures even a great and very knowledgeable employee can lose interest really quick. I very much wanted to buy from here but at the last minute I came across a slightly used camper from elsewhere that had some major upgrades and had to jump on it. I wish I could give it a zero. Buyer beware. I see some of the reviews, and I had some of the same problems. I think paying cash , (not huge but hey) , instead of financing might have hurt me. Rig spent the first 60 days of ownership in their shop. I guess warranty work is last. First trip , woke up to water leak in bathroom that flooded. AC, from factory wouldn't blow into rear bedroom, electric stabilizer hit water lines/valves under unit when extended. We got trailer back , seemed to be ok , then roasted on a 6 week trip up east coast in August. I called 3 days into trip and scheduled a warranty repair for the ac to be looked at when we returned. Guess what, warranty expired 5 days before it came in. They go by the day it comes in, not when you call. I was 1500 miles away. I will say after 30 days of it sitting in their shop upon our return and a few phone calls, I only had to pay a couple hours labor to fix it. I will take some blame for trusting their smiling faces, but will never do business there again. Lesson learned!! read more

We needed an emergency repair as our umbilical was damaged as we were driving down I-95. We found the parts and service staff at the Ridgeland store to be professional, competent and friendly. They were able to get our trailer back on the road in a few hours and the fix was perfect. I'd definitely consider returning to this location for service. read more

After our 5th camping trip in our 1st travel trailer my wife finally realized that we needed a bigger camper. Looked at a few different locations and kinda narrowed it down to what we were looking for. On a vacation trip to Hilton Head we decided to stop at the Ridgeland SC Camping World to see what they had, and I'm glad we did. Got linked up with our Salesman Rick Preacher who had a vast knowledge on travel trailers and 5th wheels. Told him what we were looking for and he showed us numerous campers. Did the pros and cons of each one of them and finally decided on the one we bought. Mr. Preacher never pushed us toward a certain direction and was very patient with us as we went from one to another and back again. He also told us to call him if we ever had any questions, which I have to say I surely have...plus he has called and checked in on us seeing how we were doing with the new camper. We actually have a Camping World in our home town but are so happy that we stopped the Ridgeland store to see their inventory. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Took our camper in to be fixed and they caused more damage to it. They will not take your calls or call you back. They will not take ownership of their mistakes, or even work with you to find a solution. They are non-communitive, evasive, and have the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. We have been dealing with this situation for 9 months. Nine months we have been without our camper because of them. They have caused us to lose a ton of money and they will not even have a conversation about the situation. After searching online for the RV model we wanted, we reached out and were connected with Rick Preacher. He confirmed details via email, was very responsive and managed to get us exactly what we were looking for while also staying within budget. We were coming from out of state and needed to make a quick pick up and turn around to head home, so he did his best to have everything ready when we arrived. Our walk-thru with the service department was thorough and we would have been on our way right afterwards, but for some reason we were directed to sit with the "finance guy", which is why we only gave a 4 star review. The "finance guy" did waste our time as we were not financing and after paying in full, we stated multiple times that we needed to get on our way. We have faith in the brand that we purchased, we had already been fully educated on the warranties online and we understood that we can buy those warranties at a later date. We did not need the high pressure sales push but hey, that is his job, so I guess mentioning it here at least lets someone know he IS doing his job, just with the wrong buyers LOL (again, we were not financing and had declined all add-on warranties). All of the guys in the service department who got our rig ready to take were awesome and deserve a shout out. They were awesome and paid extra attention to our puppies :) All in all, we would buy from Rick Preacher again because he was honest, had top notch CS and Sales skills, and he has followed up to make sure that we are enjoying our rig and experiencing no issues. We like CW and think that they just need to read their buyer's needs and listen when they are clearly indicating that, while the info is appreciated, they have no intention of making any additional purchases. Take those statements for face value, offer your card for follow up, and let people get on their way. Streamlining the process would be much appreciated for those of us picking up our new rigs but also paying in full same day. If purchasing an RV can all be done quickly online, then there should also be a way to do the same thing as an in-store purchase. I have wrote 2 reviews and I hope you read all # before buying from there. I wrote that my wall is bugging out and every time I fix, it comes back out. My spicket handle is leaking and on top of that my refrigerator stopped yesterday. It took forever to clean a black tank that they let set on lot for months and had vents closed too. If you dont want to read how wrong this place is dont read. But I will continue writing about this camper that they said was so great. There is places in floor that has dips in it. Dont buy a Ozark camper to you read how cheap they are made and overpriced. I know when I finish this, Ill get a message to reply to them. But believe me thats the same reply, so its a computer. I bought a new travel trailer July 2021; after getting it home I filled the fresh water tank; I turned the water pump on an nothing happened. I called an requested tech support. They had Matt call me ( I lived an hour away). After getting info on trailer, he stated he would call me back. He later called an told me where to locate a valve that was probably turned off for winterizing. It was hidden behind a panel that had to be removed. He told me to turn on an leave on unless winterizing. It worked perfectly. Kudos to Matt, he was very professional an concerned. read more

When they opened I was there the first day and bought a three year membership. I love shooting sports and hunting, and they had a lot of equipment that goes along with that. THEY HAD. After a few months no more firearms no more ammo, nothing with shooting sports. When I asked about my membership and why they did not say this when I bought it, employees had no answer other than that's how it goes. Really. I laugh every time i pass by there now because they went from being packed to No one going there. They have laid off almost all of there employees and are doing terrible. My original review was on 11-6-21. Response from owner was to give them a good number to contact me. I did. Still no response. Since then I got my rv back and it is worse than when I took it. Contacted keystone and they said they approved all repairs. Only about half we're done and they were done real shoddy. Keystone said it is out of their hands even though they are the ones that originally did the crappy work. They are passing the buck off to gander rv. We wanted to trade in our 2020 Gulfstream for a unit with a separate bunk room. Our sales person "Rick" was outstanding with his service. We traded our camper in and bought a new PUMA 2022. We were notified that there was a small problem with the roof but it would be covered by the warranty and it would be repaired at the dealership once Forest River approved the repair therefore we took delivery. Well two days after delivery we were notified that Forest River wanted the camper returned to "their" factory in Indiana for repair and not at the local dealership. After speaking with warranty personnel at Forest River I agreed with there decision and was told the "dealership" had all the required paperwork to start the process for Forest River to come and pickup my "new" 2022 PUMA and return it to Indiana for repair. Now two weeks into the process, I learned to today that the "dealer" REQUIRES me to fill out the paperwork to have the camper picked up. NO one from the dealer except he great salesperson has been in contact with me after it was determine there was a problem... So I FILLED out the paperwork and forwarded it to Forest River. NO ONE from the dealership except the salesperson has contacted me or tried to help me with this issue. Please read this review and consider what this means with "CUSTOMER SERVICE" , I now owe $60,000 on a new camper and it has to go back to the factory to be repaired. I really feel the dealership only concern was getting my name on a contract and NOT customer service or helping me through this issue.
