I am writing to you as a 100% disabled veteran who has been gravely wronged by Camper World in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and I urge your office to take notice of what I believe is part of a broader pattern of abuse affecting not only veterans but hardworking citizens across our state. Recently, I put down a deposit to hold a camper at their Olive Branch location. I ultimately decided not to move forward with the purchase, expecting, in good faith, that my deposit would be refunded. Instead, I was told by a representative named Kameiko that the dealership had used my deposit money to pay someone to clean a camper I never owned. This was done without my consent or legal justification. As a disabled veteran trying to enjoy Memorial Day weekend -- a time meant to honor people like myself -- I am now left without my hard-earned money and without the camper I had hoped to travel in. I find this deeply insulting and exploitative, especially considering the sacrifices I've made for this country. I have filed formal complaints with the FTC and BBB. I've also retained legal counsel. The local Memphis news has taken an interest in my story, and since then, the salesman involved has reportedly quit. More concerning information continues to come to light, and we are uncovering even more questionable practices. I am asking for your assistance in investigating this company for unethical and possibly unlawful behavior. Having read the reviews, I am amazed this place is still in business. We have been dealing with them since April on a damaged camper by hail storm. Insurance Company sent them the check, which they cashed immediately but as of today, they do not have any parts (replacement A/C cover, vent covers) are not sure they can repair the hail damage and will need to keep the camper for months if we bring it into shop. Talk about the run around. What reputable company cashes insurance check and does nothing on claim for 2 months? If you are looking to waste a bunch of time, listen to double talk and get absolutely nowhere then tis is your place. The entire experience was so comical. From the GM Jake calling me and setting my first appointment with Robert. I received an email that said "retain this copy and present at counter for your sales associate". I get there and ask for Robert and advise I have an appt. Robert isn't here, let me find another. I hit the lottery of ignorance with Jason James. He shows me a couple of class A units, after finding a golf cart that would get us there, and I pick one rather quickly. I had done a credit app online. He comes to me with numbers and asks if they work. I say " sure but you have not even run through any banks, how do you know the rate? ". He says " OUR FINANCE GUYS LOOKED AT YOUR CREDIT AND THEY JUST KNOW!" Wow, I was kind of impressed. They had a give or take $50 range on monthly payments for a 150K unit. I leave and the next day after 5-6 hours, I text him and ask for updates. He answered a while later. " sorry they are doing now" Needless to say they came back with nonsense after nonsense. Changing everything. They ran my credit 8 times! I was told by the finance manager, WE HAVE ONE BANK THAT WILL DO IT" I could see the writing on the wall. This group is nothing short of a circus. St Louis Camping World did a trade-in evaluation for another Camping World Store. They would not communicate with me. Left me waiting for hours and did everything possible to sabotage the deal with the other store. The camper only had deterioration to the floor covering but they rated it as poor even through it passed all there test. They also had the wrong year. It is a 2021 and they had it as a 2019. They did not list all the features and extras. They would not work with the other store at all and is making them send someone 800 miles to pick it up and they did not want to put it behind their fence where it would be safe. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE, husband called on a camper Monday morning 4/10 at 930am talks to Jason on the phone asked if he could put a down payment on this camper to hold it until Tuesday afternoon 4/11.He said he couldn't do that okay that's fine, my husband told me to drive out there (47 miles) away to go look and then put a down payment on it, Jason showed me the camper. It was nice and I told him I would like to buy this camper. Can I put a down payment and see what you would give me on my trade-in and get the paperwork rolling. He told me they don't take down payments, but he reassures me, It would be there tomorrow afternoon when we come back out. My husband calls jason after I leave and told him to start some paperwork. They talked that night making a deal, We are on our way out there 4/11 I look online they raised the price on the camper by 7,500 dollars. We walk in and Jason tells us we will get it for the price 37499 since they started some paperwork Monday, (apparently the camper was a year newer it was a 2018 not 2017) so that's why they raised the price,well the finance guy rejected us said they can't sell the camper for 37499 and we would have to pay the 44999, while we were there jason was telling us that someone else was looking at the camper and we can't go see it and they are probably going to buy it so that's the reason why they wouldn't sell it to us for 37499. We were there for hours they gave us out the door pricing, we were okay with it, They said they would call us back in the morning,(banks closed. )When they called us back in the morning the numbers changed they went from 47,500 to 50,125 cause they said they forgot the taxes, my husband said no the taxes was on that paperwork. We decided we didn't want it since the prices kept changing and their story kept changing. So all in all, they raise the price on the camper to try to get more money out of you, last minute when you wanna buy something. Went in today to look at a lightweight travel trailer that I saw online. The woman at the desk said, "Okay, but first, give me your driver's license so I can get you checked in and get your information here in the computer system, in case there's an emergency." My eyes grew wide. "What kind of emergency would that be?" Camping World Rep: "Well, if there would be a tornado or something like that while you are out on our lot, then we would have your info." Recently my bank account was hacked and I hesitated to give all that personal information to Camping World just to take a quick supervised look at a small camper. From all of the other reviews that we wish we would have read, it's obvious that this place operates straight out of the "sleezeball sales manual". They made us a reasonable offer to buy our travel trailer over the phone with photos, as they requested. We brought the trailer in and were then offered 40% less. We figured the price might come down a bit, but 40%?!?! And it was non negotiable. They figured they had us since we had brought it in. BUYER BEWARE... My new Class A purchase has turned into a nightmare. It's been in the shop for the "WE OWE YOU LIST" you receive at close for them to repair the simple stuff. Yeah right. I've dropped it off 4 times now. This last drop off was December 11th and we are now January 28th and I'm still without my RV. It's been one lie after another. Also, Marcus's team likes to chime in and act like they care when responding to the reviews. They dont it's just more lies and deceit. I heard from the guy twice . Purchased our 2020 East West Silver Lake in Springfield Illinois in March 2021. We were happy with our purchase with a little 'run around' with loan percentage rates. We asked if they had a current title. When I asked about the 'no title' noted on the sales persons' inventory paperwork he checked with his manager who said they absolutely had the title. When we signed the paperwork 2 days later they then said "they were waiting for the owner to finalize the title transfer" and they would send it to us. ........45 days later I had not received the title so I was unable to register the travel trailer in Missouri. After much back and forth they applied for an emergency title through the State of Illinois and finally sent it to us. We were basically insuring and paying for a camper that was not legally theirs to sell!! read more

I have tryed multiple times to reach out to Camping World in Wentzville Mo and they keep telling me they will call back, But no one does. They contacted my credit union about a trailer I wanted and My credit union told me thay would approve a certain amount . Then I told them I was interested and I needed to know What the total amount was going to be. I was told $36,489.00 .They were supose to get back and no one did even after I made several attemps to reach out to them. Ok I really got screwed. the repair work I was concerned about on the corners of the slide out were not resealed and they reashured me it would not leak at all and they fully checked it out and every thing was fine. They refused to let me check the roof do to liability reasons. the damage on the slide out was hidden by new recliners so you could not see the damage. Here is the real kicker, they told me that the trailer was going to cost me 38,995.00 and my payments were only going to be $455.29 a month and did not tell me there was going to be a $42,957.20 Finance Charge. for the lone. total of $81,952.20 for a 2019 wolf pack 25pack12 travel trailer. If I would have known I would have left without it.I strongly beleave I got Really screwed over. I am not big on negative reviews, but here we are. They sold me a used lemon. We did a walk thru on the pickup day and there was about 5 things wrong with the camper. they pretended to fix everything including the major leak in the wall ac unit that leaks all over the master bed everytime you use it. The sales manager told me in the parking lot on my pick up day that I could bring the camper back with in 45 days and have my list of repairs done. I brought it back in and they gave me a very large estimate for the repairs, I was told the warranty didn't exist because I didn't buy the warranty. I was later told he was new and he was mistaken. I want to drop a review for the sales/service/finance departments for Camping World located in Wentzville Mo. We purchased a beautiful camper in August 2019. The Cedar Creek Champaign 5th Wheeler. We did encounter some problems that came from the factory with the inverter. I also had to have a special hitch for my MegaRam short bed with ram boxes. The sales and service went very smooth. Our salesman Charles was awesome and available when we needed him after the sale. Chuck in service was always so helpful with keeping me updated when my unit was in service. I mainly want to highlight the service after the sale from the service dept. In particular Laura and Chris. Laura the manager of service was outstanding and available when we needed her. Laura takes ownership for any and everything with the products... and from my experience, you just can't find that kind of person anywhere and when you do they better be well compensated. lol. Chris in service made sure everything came together so we have a great experience camping. He even face timed with me to help me light the oven and burners which was giving me trouble when I was out camping. Most of it was because I did not read the manuals. lol. This place, it's stupid. I spent 37,000 dollars on a camper. First of all, the salesman was new and tried pushing a camper we didn't want onto us. The finance guy had the wrong paperwork 3 times, with the wrong camper and dates. During the walk through of our the brand new camper, the guy told us "we don't have to fix all of these little things until the 45 day inspection, so just make a list because there will be more I promise". Who likes to hear that after spending that much money? No one! We accepted it as it was. We took it on the date of the 45 day inspection with our list and even painter taped the areas for clear communication. We call them at 1 week, two weeks, then told them we have a trip that next weekend. They didn't do anything in that 3 week period. We took it back after that weekend trip to get finished. Now, I'm looking at week four of the 2nd visit. We've made 4 payments, I don't have a camper, and I have a trip that cost 100 dollars now canceled. I will never suggest anyone come here. Ever. My cousins bought the same camper, brand new Mallard, and had the exact same problems with camping world. At least I know I'm not the only one and can warn people. read more

My husband and I bought a camper from Wentzville Missouri camping world and we were mislead from the beginning. To start we were made promises on our purchase that were not followed through. Week one our whole fridge door fell off while traveling, we called them and they didn't want to do a thing about it. We made it very clear that the door was poorly fixed prior to our purchase and again they didn't want to do a thing about it. After my husband went to the store personally they did finally replace the part for us to fix ourselves. Our purchase date was in June come 30 days post purchase and we did not receive our title. I personally went in the Wentzville location to let them know, they simply said they were having an "issue" with our title and that if we got pulled over, or received any citations they would pay them along with any late fees we may run into once the title was received. 2 weeks ago I decided to contact my lawyer to see where to go from here and he suggested I write a letter about our concerns. Now September about 100 days since purchase date we just received our title and we're simply told "sorry for the lack of communication and they would still be happy to pay our late fees when titling the camper". Never again will I come to this store nor suggest a camping world to any of our friends and family. To say our experience was terrible is a complete understatement. If we would have had the option to leave the camper at their store and cancel the whole purchase with a full refund, I would have never went out of my way to write this review shunning such a large company. But would hate to see this happen to someone else. Take your $$ elsewhere and do yourself a favor. read more

Here is my story I bought a 2020 Thor Magnitude BB35 on June 5th for 145k in the St. Louis location through one of my company balled Buz Transport, LLC. On August 17th 2020 I called in requesting warranty repair for 9 issues, that major of which was a cracked fresh water tank. The appointment was granted on September 3rd 2020. I dropped off my coach and delivered to Mr. Briggs and Ryan a detailed email with pictures of all the problems to make sure the work order was written correctly. On September 15th 2020 I was informed via telephone by Mr. Briggs that on September 11th 2020 Thor had approved all repairs under warranty. Mr. Briggs then stated that parts could take 4 to 6 weeks due to Covid-19 delays.  I since then emailed Mr. Briggs many times asking for an ETA and he always responded in writing that he was going to call Thor and get back to me with a definitive date.  Tired of waiting for Mr. Briggs to follow through to what I would consider normal costumer service, I involved my legal counselor and called Thor myself. This is where it gets interesting. Chris at Thor, who handles the Magnitude product line, told me in a recorded conversion that the order for part was submitted only on October 20th 2020 and that Thor shipped 3 out of 4 requested parts the same day. Chris is getting back to me Monday to let me know a date of shipment for the fresh water tank which he will gladly expedite after my call. This means that Camping World St. Louis and it's service department has done absolutely nothing other then keeping my coach on their lot from September 11th 2020 to October 20th 2020. Nothing. In the meanwhile Mr. Briggs was pointing the fingers of the delay towards Thor and parts not being available.  I would love to hear a straight, possibly truthful story from the general Manager of the St. Louis location or ownership on how they rate this service and how they intend to proceed. Let's not forget that at the time of purchase they all told me how their costumer that buy at CW have priority over all the rest.  More importantly I need my coach repaired properly (so you avoid to have me back) and my warranty extended for the time lost doing nothing. Thor needs to either train you better or monitor their dealership in order to avoid this situation. Unfortunately I read all over the internet stories about RV sitting for the whole time of warranty. Beware... don't go here. So much has gone wrong and every experience I had with them was so bad, I don't even know where to start. I called ahead an made an appt to see a specific trailer. Sales guy had us walking the lot for 20 min before he admitted he didn't know where it was. He jumped in a golf cart to go find it and almost hit my wife. Luckily she jumped out of the way at the last min. Finance guy said he would beat our banks interest rate. Show up to close and he didn't but tried to push it past us. Then seemed put out because he had to call and do a payout with another lender to get below our banks rate. They wanted $800 for a $400 hitch. I said that was too much so they "worked out a deal". They gave me $400 as a military discount and I would pay the other $400 outside the loan. Shown up to close and guess what, no-one knows what I'm talking about. I bought steps with my original purchase. Fast forward 30 days, I called and spoke to the general manager who told me theynhad my steps in. I scheduled a day to come getbthem installed and what do you know...... no steps. Never had them. Looking back, I wish I had listened to the reviews. However, when you need service, or anything goes wrong (including either factory warranty repair, or anything involving their extended warranties) BYER BEWARE! After having the Columbia MO location repair several things, our camper came back worse then when we took it in as they broke things in the process that were not broken when we took it to them (including running a forklift thru the side of the camper). We then took it to the Wentzville MO location hopeful for a better outcome, we paid over $500 for a roof cleaning and resealing and the next trip out it rained, we had water running down the inside wall at the nose of the camper. We then had to spend over 6 weeks trying to get them to send the forms for us to sign to refund the prorated portion of the very expensive useless extended warranties they sold us under false pretense that they would "cover everything", when in fact they covered almost nothing.
