Just got back from taking my 12 year old nephew to get a well needed hair cut, which was done by Enrique, the owner. As soon as my nephew was finished with his cut I handed him a $20 for a $14 hair cut. My nephew asked for his change back in which Enrique took it upon himself to say "you owe me a tip from last month and this cut". Which he took the whole $20. As a business owner in the same industry, I know a tip is not an obligation however a kind gesture to show appreciation for the service that was given. This is deff my new place for haircuts. I recently started coming here due to the scheduling of the guy who used to cut my hair, and for sure I made a good choice too. Get my hair cut by Sergio, real cool and easy going dude, and never disappoints with the hair cut. Turns out he cuts 2 of my other close friends' hair and I didn't even know that. Overall this is a cool spot, everyone seems pretty easy going, and just a good vibe. So I came to this barbershop because I saw the reviews and the previous one I went to was closed even though they closed around 7. Anyways, I found the spot and I went inside and like any other barbershop, they were PACKED! Haha. I was literally the 15th person to get a hair cut. Chill ass environment with kids, teens and old cats. There were 2 barbers at first and then a 3rd on arrived and they started to cut hair like professionals! I spent an hour to cut my hair and it was worth it! I got Javier and this guy took his time even though they still had customers waiting!! Come on!! You know that's a good barber when he takes his time and gives you the cut you wanted! I was amazed to see my hair after he was finished! Now I know where to go to cut my hair! Terribly disappointed by the customer service from "Anthony" . I have been taking my two teen age boys here since they were young kids. But because of this rude barber, I will now look for a new place for them. Parents who wait in the car while the kids are getting their haircut - BEWARE!!! This guy treats them like he is doing this for free. When he is asked if it can be trimmed a little more , he complains and says "seriously dude? I was almost done!!" ...WTF??.really ? Is this the way to treat a paying customer? . A time before this, he kept my son's change...Was he automatically assuming a tip??? Like he really deserved a tip with that attitude...years before this another barber cut my son's ear. ..this was an accident and he was sorry. DAVID is truly a master at what he does he's very professional gives you good tips and recommendations for your style, he takes real pride in his work and it shows every time I get my hair cut by DAVID. I really recommend him. I live in south LA and drive all the way to Downey just to get my haircut. I have tons of choices of barber shops, but I can guarantee none have better barbers than Campos barber shop. This place is pretty unprofessional. Some time ago I came to this place and it was sorta full; which wasn't the issue. It was morning so some of the barbers were showing up to start their shift. Among one of them was some guy who came in with a beer in his hand. It was on a Sunday so I'm pretty sure he had gotten shitfaced the night before. If someone is going to cut my hair I don't want it done by someone who is having a hangover and is medicating by drinking more beer. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't drink and drive or cut hair for that matter. Some of the bad reviews below mine also relate to similar experiences I've had in the past. He did not listen to what I wanted, and continued to watch Tv as he was cutting my hair, I feel he didn't listen because he was too focused on the movie that was playing on the tv. This guy must have had some cheap machines because the back of my neck is red and irritated. Aside from a crooked beard he left my neck line crooked and cut me. If you go here you will end up coming home and shaving your head due to the lousy hack job, which is what I had to do just to go out in public. The no skilled poor excuse for a temp barber took more than an hour trying to figure out a fade. I also asked for a beard trim both came out horrible. this barber shop is fucking ridiculous in terms of the waiting time and their management . If yelp had a 0 star option I'd give it a 0. My brother had been waiting there for an hour and thirty minutes for a haircut, and the barbers kept taking customers that had arrived after him and were after him on the waiting list that they have. Through observation, most of the barbers don't even look at the list, so why the fuck do they even have one if they're not going to go down the list? After speaking with the manager, his excuse was that they were 3 barbers short due to vacation purposes. Like that's not my problem if your employees are going on vacation. The manager did not take the initiative to do anything. He had only suggested to wait until the next open chair, and let me just that my brother was not going to wait not even an extra minute. They had the audacity to say have a good day as I was making my way out; that shit got me hot. The manager sucks ass at his job for letting an angry customer walk out the door and allowing for situations like this happen. read more
