Did my 2023 taxes with him last year. Just received a letter wasn't turned in. I called and called no one picks up and they finally answered. One of the employees just ask for a photo of the letter I received and said I will get a call back. Been waiting and I even sent text message to the number they gave me and nothing. I'll be calling the IRS to get this fix and hopefully will not get penalized and file a complaint. Update: I'm updating this review to share my full experience and clarify some misleading points made by the business owner. First, I only received a response after I left a Yelp review. Before that, I had reached out multiple times via email and phone with no reply. It's frustrating that it took public feedback to finally get action on an issue that could've been handled much earlier. Second, at no point during our earlier communication was I told there was a problem with my W-2 or that a new one was needed. That only came up after the IRS sent a letter and I followed up again. If that had been communicated clearly in the beginning, this whole situation could have been avoided. Lastly, I found the tone of the owner's public reply to be unnecessarily defensive and dismissive. Instead of showing accountability or professionalism, the response shifts blame and sarcastically thanks me for the "unnecessary" review -- which honestly says a lot about how concerns are handled here. I have been coming here for the past 7 years to do my taxes after my ex coworker told me about Igor & how good he was to do taxes. I have used Campos for the last 6 years and have always had a good experience until this year. I went 5 weeks without receiving my Federal refund and when I checked with the IRS, they had no record of my filing. I tried to get in touch with Campos for many days and finally got a hold of them and was told someone had filed taxes with my identity before I filed so the IRS said there were duplicate returns. Campos had me come in and sign papers to be sent to the IRS, nonchalantly saying this has happened to a lot of people this year. A month later and I have not heard anything from the IRS but have had a lot of fraudulent activity with my SSN and checking account (from the account provided to Campos for Direct Deposit), losing $1000s, in addition to not receiving my refund. Talked to two other people who also use Campos who have had an identical experience. Beware, your data is likely not safe with Campos. While they do an incredible job trying to get everyone their maximum refund, at what cost? read more

Campos tax services is the worst place to do your taxes. The first year or two might be great, of course, so you're lured into going back. But once you receive that notice in the mail from the IRS that your taxes from the past few years (from his services) are being audited and many discrepancies were found, everything will go downhill. Not to mention, my identity was mysteriously stolen those same years. Igor Campos, who is the owner, recommended me not to file for my 2021 taxes until the last two years of amendments were cleared. Then he proceeded to ignore me when I tried to reach him. What kind of tax accountant recommends you to not file for your taxes? Igor is a scam artist and doesn't care about his clients. He will lead you to believe he cares, but he doesn't. If you attempt to reach him for amendments or discrepancies, he will brush you off and keep telling you to wait until you receive a response. Eventually, he will start ignoring you and not return emails, phone calls, and even text messages. He'll act like he's there for you, but he's not. After speaking with other people in this field, the advice was for me to take legal action since there might already be a case open with him. I will definitely be reporting him to the BBB, but I would not be surprised if this place gets shutdown! I have used Campos for many years and recently moved out of state. Because Igor is able to do taxes for any state, I made a phone appointment and sent them all my documents as they requested. At the time of my appointment, I was told I would receive a call back because they were very busy. I ended up calling a few times for the next 5 or so hours, but they continued to say they were still busy and couldn't get to me, but would call me back. I had to pause several work meetings because I wanted to be sure I was available when they called. At one point, Igor picked up my call and mentioned that he hadn't forgotten about me and would return my call. Since then I have called, texted, and emailed several times and continue to be told I will hear back but never do. It has been 10 days since my appointment. I let them know I would be completing my taxes elsewhere from now on. Update: I attempted to file my taxes elsewhere and paid a good amount of money to do so. I just received emails that my state and federal tax filings were rejected because a duplicate filing has already been made. I had not received any information from Campos that they were planning to do so and had already alerted them that I would be filing elsewhere via phone, email, and text. read more

I have always completed my taxes myself via Turbo Tax all of my adult life. However, what I could never understand is why I always had a minimal refund or end up owing each year. I never understood this and with very limited knowledge on this subject, I continued to use Turbo tax. Don't get me wrong, there were 2 years that I ventured out to see if maybe I was doing something wrong so I decided to try H&R Block one year, but no real difference than turbo tax other than paying a hefty fee, and another year, I went with Liberty Tax and same deal. Then, my husband came home one day and told me about Campos Tax Services which was referred by a good friend of his and I was a little skeptical. How would we be able to find anything different when all the other times were such a let down?? In any event, we gave it a try and let me tell you.... WOW!!!! So, before I started this, for the hell of it, I decided to enter all of my stuff in Turbo Tax just to get an idea of what the results were and wouldn't you know it??? I owed for both Federal and State. We had an appt with Igor at Campos and he knew the tax limits and all sorts of deductions available and limits that we were able to take advantage of. He was able to take a look at my files last year to discover that I wasn't getting the max deductions from Turbo Tax. In any event, by the time we were done, we ended up with a refund which is SIGNIFICANTLY different than Turbo Tax!, We have found our new tax guy going forward!!! Update to Igor's comment: 3/3/2019 I'm highly offended that Igor is implying that I'm purposely hiding documents to avoid paying taxes, which is slander. It's the exact opposite, I'm paying the taxes to avoid further issues due him and his team not doing their job. This is unprofessional and another reason not to use him. I went to Campos Tax Service because my tax person had a falling out with her company. Since the yelp reviews were good, I decided to do my taxes with them in 2016 and 2017. Last year, I got bill from the IRS that our 2016 taxes were incorrect and we owed them $6,000 plus penalties. The tax person had typed my social security to my husband's and the mistake gave us a refund. We decided to check our 2017 taxes due to mistake of 2016 with a CPA. It turned out my W-4 was not included and Campos did not question why I did not submit to them. As a result, we are paying $15,000 in taxes to the Federal and State for 2017. I spoke to Igor and asked for a refund on the fees I paid his company for 2016 and 2017. He promised me via e-mail that he would pay it and it never came through. The level of service is not good and the owner does not follow through. I am taking him to small claims court since he did not fulfil his promise. Campos tax is pretty good. They were able to accommodate to me and get my taxes done just in time for the due date. They only charged me $200 for my taxes which I thought was pretty good. All of my past issues were reconciled and they really try to help you get as much of a return as possible. Definitely would recommend. 4 stars because the only downside is there's no parking. Only street parking which can be really hard to find. read more

I have used Campos for 3 years, but I never will again. I tried to do my taxes over the phone this year because I moved out of state. This year the process has been a nightmare. Every time I call they push my call off, and tell me they will call back in 30 minutes. I have never received a call back, and I have called and spoken to someone 10-15 times. I have no idea if my taxes are done, or if they will ever be done, and so I will be using Turbo Tax. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone, Igor has no idea how to run a business or have good customer service. This was my first time ever owing the IRS any money as i usually receive a refund. It came in as quite a shock. I spoke with a few of my coworkers seeking advise on a good tax prepare. Many of them recommended i go see Igor at Campos Tax Services. I did just that and ended up getting a REFUND. Igor was extremely thorough in processing my taxes. Most other tax services simply take your W2 and give you the standard deduction without your input and collect their money. Igor went above and beyond, approaching my taxes at different angles to maximize my returns, and he did just that. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you so much Igor! read more

I have used Campos Tax Service for the past two years. While the individuals have always been very pleasant, especially Igor, I cannot recommend their services. In each of the past two years, I have worked with them to prepare my taxes on time and have paid for their services immediately. In each of the past two years, they have failed to file my taxes with the government. I have later been contacted by the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board with notices of delinquent tax filings. This, in my opinion, is professional malpractice and negligence. While Igor has been kindly willing to reimburse all late filing fees levied by the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board (and provide a discount on future years' tax preparation services), this firm must be reported. I would caution anyone working with them to rigorously follow up on all filings to be sure that the job is complete - even after you have completed tax preparation. In addition to this firm, you should be on the lookout for Ms. Sonia Gabino (Tax Preparer ID Number P01938852), who was fired from Campos Tax Service and has now set up her own tax preparation firm. read more
