Campus Cleaners did a great job and the service was wonderful but insanely overpriced. All I wanted was a button seen onto my jeans, instead I had to pay to dry clean them and for the button. Total cost ended up being a disgusting $35. FOR A BUTTON. The button was sewn on very nicely and the owner was very kind and it was quick, but I cannot get behind the price. I had my denim altered here. They did a good job but it cost a little more than I believe at other places but maybe that's just the cost of living spiking lately in Seattle... It wasn't the fastest turn around for such a simple job but I had the feeling if I told her it was urgent that she could've done it sooner. I am a new customer. I decided to go this place because I saw many reviews saying"great service and prices". The service was good but the prices were way too expensive. Many people live around this area are students, and I think these prices are not affordable for students. I washed five clothes including three sweaters and two coats, and I was charged for $115. When I was asking for a price list too look at, the employee just said it's on my computer. I don't think I will go to this place again because the prices are just not affordable for a student. And I really hope they can put a price list on the wall, so it's clear for customers. read more

This is the first time I've ever had to pay for it...so I guess I really don't have a frame of reference. But I got my comforter, 2 sheets, and 3 pillows dry cleaned because of a bug problem and it cost me $72. Urgh. I dropped off a light blue down puffer jacket that had coke spilled on it, so the stains were very noticeable. It cost $30, but somehow they actually got all the stains out and it looks brand new. He said they put it back in the machine over and over until it was clean, and I'm very happy with the result! A little expensive (although I don't have a reference point since this is my first dry cleaning experience), but worth it for the great service. read more

Pains me to write this for very good people... But super overpriced beyond belief... The same uniform items I bring to other dry cleaners costs about $28-$30. Here, I spent $70!! Well... I've had nothing but great experiences at Campus Cleaners for both dry cleaning and alterations. They are significantly cheaper than the dry cleaner close to my apartment, they always do a great job, and they're super convenient to my office. I dropped off a few jackets and dresses on Monday this week, and they were ready to go when I asked for them on Wednesday. I think they actually have a same-day service as well, but you may have to pay a bit more for that. Bonus points: she (it's a husband-wife team I believe) found a seam coming loose on the inside of one of my dresses, and fixed it for me no charge. Awesome. read more

The owners here are incredibly nice and friendly! I really had a great experience with their service and will continue to use them. I came with a few stains on a cream cashmere cardigan and they were able to remove them from me. My boyfriend also had some pilling on some of his sweaters and they were able to remove it! When I came I had 19 items total (yeah we waited awhile), and when I came to pick them up the male owner helped me carry everything out to my car which was very nice and thoughtful! I was already impressed with his courteous service and then he ran back out with a complimentary lint roller! So nice! Campus cleaners is also one of the most afforable dry cleaners I could find in the Seattle area; I think because they are attracting mostly college students, however they work just fine on professional attire. read more

I have simply never been so insist on how I was treated over the phone. I called to ask how much it was to dry clean a man's two-piece suit the gentleman stated $22. Which living in Los Angeles my whole life is still very expensive. Generally a man suit $15-$16 most! He then states that military uniforms cost more even though the Air Force blues are a completely basic two-piece man suit. To dry clean one suit and press two shirts he charged my 18-year-old son $44.44. Then I asked how much was it to dry clean a tux, his response was $22 then when I asked why my sons total was $85 he said it cost $42 to dry clean a tux and $10 to dry clean a tux shirt. Having served in the military and had my uniforms dry cleaned my entire career, he also was charging $9.95 per military uniform shirt. He claims to offer a military discount because his son is in the military. This gentleman was rude, would not give me an itemized price list for my sons bill without me speaking to him very frankly and kept yelling at me and asking "why don't you come in and talk to me then..." I responded multiple times that I am in Los Angeles and I'm trying to understand why my 18-year-old has an $85 dry cleaning bill for two suits and three shirts. Absolute ripoff I will make sure none of the ROTC programs are recommended to his business. He is stealing money from these future officers! Disgusting! read more

Started getting my shirts done here. Price a little higher than I am used to, but worth it for the quality of their work.

They couldn't get an organic stain (a little bit of green tea) out of my coat and then the stain turned orange and looked ten times worse than before. The woman working there told me it was my own fault and was extremely rude, interrupting me and not letting me talk. She then put me on hold while she talked to someone else. I keep reading reviews about how nice they are, but I guess they are not so nice when confronted with unhappy customers. She would also not tell me what "organic" chemicals they use to clean the clothes so I could google whether or not green tea and that chemical would have a orange interaction. Apparently repeating "is organic, no make color" at me was answer enough to her. I recommend going to a cleaner who is knowledgeable about stains, their cleaning product, and about customer service. read more

So, I am very excited to be the first one and give them my five stars...I have been a customer of Campus Cleaner since I moved to Seattle from Italy in 1998. At that time I was a student at the University of Washington and used to live on campus, just three blocks away from this shop. After graduation, I moved to First Hill and tried other dry cleaners but they were more expensive and their services not as nice. That's why I went back. The owners are always extremely kind and accommodating, they always take great care of our shirts, their prices are very reasonable and they even remember my phone number when I walk through the door! This review is for alterations only. The owners here are very nice people, but unfortunately you don't get stars just for that in the tailoring business. I had a shirt that needed slimming in the torso, which was $35+tax. It's not cheap, but my sewing machine was broken and I needed it quickly for a conference. When I took the finished product home, I realized that she literally only sewed a line down each side without trimming the excess fabric. I went back to inquire why so little work was done, she says it's because she wanted me to try it before she cuts the fabric. If that's true, why didn't she say this when I came to pick up? Then, after "fixing it" a second time, the edges of the cut fabric is now thick because she simply folded it inward and sewn that. It appears that she doesn't know how to do an edge-sealing serger stitch which would not result in 4 layers of fabric. It was also not even sewn straight, which takes some skill when using a sewing machine. I think this place is for pant hemming and related simple alterations. read more

Not only did the owner go out of her way to do a deep cleaning for a suit of mine the day before graduation, when she had her own son's to go to that day, but she even managed to get a stain out of my shirt collar that I wasn't able to get out since Halloween! It's been a while since I've been to the dry cleaners, economy & such. The dry cleaners near my work is owned by a husband and wife, I've been there about 6 times, over the past year and a half - the husband works the morning shift, and I often drop clothes off at 7:30ish...I think the last time I droppped off & picked up my clothes, I spoke to a the husband. So, it's been at least 3 or 4 months since I've been to the dry cleaner in the afternoon. I walked in today, and the Mrs. welcomes me, I pull my clothes out of the bag - and she ask's me if my name is ...... (wow, I thought). Then she asked if the last four of my cell phone (my account number) is ....... :) Incredible! She just made a customer for a very long time. read more

Attention Brides...ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I have used this cleaners in the past for several daily items, and have never had any complaints. I took my custom made wedding gown to them because they clean all their gowns there. My dress had some damage around the hem and was very dirty when I dropped it off. They did a good job cleaning it, however in the process a significant amount of damage was done to the organza layers including a huge rip in the bottom layer. Many of the pleated layers around the bodice had areas of tears, stress on the seams, and sharp seam lines (where previously were soft pleats). When I picked up the dress I looked over it focused on the most dirty areas and a few of the stained areas. It was cleaned to my satisfaction, but because the bodice wasn't stained or even dirty when I dropped it off, I I did not notice the damage to the pleated bodice or the huge (greater than 12 inch) tear on the bottom layer on the back of the dress. A few weeks later (still in the bag from the cleaners) I took it to the seamstress who made the dress and she immediately said, "OMG, they pressed it and see all these tears". Cost to restore to original will be more than $500.00. I took it back to the cleaners, trusting they would be of good character and work with me on this. However, before I even showed him the damage he said " I refuse to accept responsibility for that." s. He acknowledged he steam pressed it but he accused me of damaging my dress after leaving the shop! Like I have time to try to scam a dry cleaners at the expense of my custom made gown! They clearly don't know how to handle organza and I will not trust them with any other items. Brides Beware! read more

Took a dress to get hemmed and had high hopes after reading positive reviews. My beautiful dress was cut and sewn to be way too short, even after I tried it on in the store and had it hemmed while I was wearing it. My dress is now a shirt and $40 later, I could not be more dissatisfied. read more
