I never leave reviews, but this is more than warranted. The owner screamed at me because THEY got MY phone number wrong and I was never contacted regarding an alteration they were unable to manage. I let them know beforehand I had limited time to have this fixed. A week later I come in person to find out, my dress wasn't fixed, AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION and now apparently I'm SOOL and won't be able to wear my dress to an event. Had brought in 2 items to have very minimally adjusted. One was a top and I had them shortened the straps. The second was a dress and I have asked for them to add a button. Nice new dry cleaners across the street from Safeway and Group Health on 15th in Capitol Hill. I switched here after years of trekking out of my way to another cleaners down the other side of the hill towards downtown. I was really hesitant, because who wants to have your shirts turned all green? No, seriously, I've tried a bunch of other dry cleaners but kept going to the out-of-the-way one because the other places took too long, cost to much, or didn't do a great job, etc. But now that I've tried this place, I think it's pretty close to becoming my go-to dry cleaner for all my fancy + work-related outfits. Seems fast, clean decor, they have a little computer print-out of what you brought and can look up your record if you lose the receipt/slip. Little stuff, but nice. The "green" part has something to do with not using quite as many harsh chemicals as typical "dry" cleaning requires. It's not 100% non-toxic, but every little bit helps (if you believe that global warming claptrap the liberal eco-terrorists are trying to shove down our throats). read more

Given the green aspect of this new business and it's convenience to my route to and from work I took some items here for cleaning, including removal some grease spots. I also asked for the hem on a couple of pairs of pants to be let down. The turn around was just a few days and the cleaning came out fine. The alterations work didn't turn out as well. While the hem was dropped the original stitching and hemline are readily apparent. Maybe the crease from the original hem couldn't be pressed out but I would have hoped that they would have called it out instead of leaving me to find it. So I won't hand over an alterations again but I might drop off some cleaning in the future read more

It takes a few days for dry cleaning, but I think its comparable to most places. Our regular cleaner - things are always ready when they say they will be & the people working are always friendly. Prices aren't the cheapest, but I'm not sure I want "cheap" for the more expensive clothing I own. They have regularly re-sewn/tightened up a failing button or hook on pants & shirts, as well as identified stains & let us know about their attempts (successful or failed) to erase them. Very unprofessional business ethics. We are new to the area and were in search of the perfect cleaners as we were in need of hand-pressing services for men's long sleeve dress shirt. My partner spoke with Genie on the phone about pricing. Each shirt is regularly $5 per shirt. We were bringing in 17 shirts and would bring in a minimum of 10 every 2 weeks, so Genie and he decided it would be $4 per shirt. I dropped off the shirts to Genie confirmed she spoke to my partner and they decided $4 per shirt, I verbally asked "Ok, so $4 per shirt as she sorted and counted the shirts. She agreed. I returned several days later to pick up the shirt: In lieu of making this review a novel I will just list the statements that Genie made-my response to explain why no one should do business with this establishment. Q:she wanted to know why hand-pressing was needed A:these are expensive shirts and the high heat presser will break the buttons. Q:oh well the worker said some of these shirts were really hard work to press bc of the material, its expensive material. -all the shirts were laundered and hung dry @ home before I brought them to her. Q:Well "my boss" says we have to charge $5 for 5 of these. -she could not point out which 5 Genie then stated that she told my partner it depended on the fabric when they spoke on the phone-which what a blatant LIE furthermore, when if this was in fact true why didn't she assess the shirts when I dropped them off. Bottom Line: we made a verbal agreement and they changed they price without contacting me, and over charged me. If this was the actual truth- tell me next time we may charge more for certain shirts- BEFORE. My opinion: I believe they saw the high end names on some of the shirts and decided they deserved more money. Huge mistake Green Cleaners- in my best Pretty Woman reenactment 10 shirts x $4 every 2 weeks for just one year= MINIMUM $1,040!!! Not to mention other services we certainly would have used. GONE- because you were dishonest and very unprofessional. PS I believe Genie and her husband are the owners, icing on the cake with the "my boss" bit. read more

Looks like I should have read reviews. What happened to me is similar to other people. We have to call King 5 Jesse Jones about this. I have been taking clothes here for three years and never had an issue. But in recent months I noticed that some buttons on my shirts and my husband's shirts went missing or got cracked after dry cleaning. But what happened this week tops it all. I took my silk Jigsaw shirt for a regular clean - they cleaned it 2 times before with no issues. But this time I got it back in a horrible condition - color was off, there is a nice pattern with ruffles which got undone, threads hanging all over. I could not believe it!!! The shirt I paid $150 was ruined. Luckily I bought another one to have extra since I really love the shirt. I took the ruined shirt back and brought the new one in to show how the shirt should look. The lady offered to fix it. OK. I went to get it after "fixing" and it was not fixed, she did cut the threads off. She tried to blame her husband for cleaning the spots and ruining it. People already mentioned the blank stare - yes I got that, she just looked at me. I kept asking what she would do about this? The shirt is ruined, it cost $150 and I think they should compensate me. She seemed shocked to hear that and said she would give me the $6.28 I paid for ruining the shirt back!!! Seriously!!!??? I said no and told her I would write a bad review. Then she went after me and offered a store credit of $70. I said ok and left. I will not go back. I understand sometimes they do ruin clothes. In this case they should at least compensate - take the liability. They lost me as a customer. read more

I came here to get jeans hemmed and a bridesmaid dress shortened. The owners seemed okay - the woman derided me for having cut-off jeans, which I didn't appreciate, but got over. They did not quote me a price (I probably should have asked) and charged me $100 to hem a bridesmaid dress. Since they don't post their prices anywhere, I wanted to let anyone who's looking for a tailor know - they charge $30 per layer of the dress. This price seems extremely steep, especially given how simple the alteration was. I want to support local businesses, but won't be returning to this shop. read more

Short version: they lost one of my shirts and then made up a bs story to cover their tracks. Long version: My shirts were cleaned well and on time, only problem was I brought in 4 shirts and when they brought out the bag there were 3. The girl at the desk was new and confused so she said I should come back the next day when the owners were there. I did and they tried to tell me that I only brought in 3 shirts when I know I brought in the 4th shirt because it was the one most in need of cleaning. Then when I showed her the receipt they gave me that had 4 written under quantity, she said that was actually the price and the 3 they wrote under price was actually the number of shirts???? And then she threw in that her husband had looked everywhere for it... which contradicts the claim that only 3 shirts were delivered. I could tell this was getting nowhere and left, surprised at how blatantly they were lying. My guess is they either damaged it or put it in the wrong bag and then made up a story to cover their tracks - either way terrible customer service and from now glancing at several other reviews this appears to be a pattern. read more

Whenever I go there, it is so joyful to talk to the owner. He speaks limited English but he always smiles and does a professional job. Since I am a messy girl, I always have stains on my clothes. Most of times, stains come out spotless. My clothes have less smells due to green cleaning process. It seems like my clothes last longer due to less toxical chemical use. Price is okay. I can't say it is cheap, but not pricy either. With all the serivces i get from them, it is worth it. I love this cleaner! read more

I've taken a blazer here to get shoulder pads removed and an old quilt to get the frayed edges sewed. They do a really good job and have fair prices. I feel like there's a little bit of a language barrier, so I'm bringing my more complicated projects somewhere else. I had been coming here for about a year. I always thought that the cleaners were very friendly, the service was good, and it was affordable. But the last time I picked up some clothes, I noticed that my favorite pair of slacks had a hole in them along the back pocket. I know for a fact that this hole was not there prior to me taking them into the cleaners. I took the slacks back to the cleaners and asked if there was anything that they could do. They said I could pay to fix it, which I refused because they caused the hole. They continued to deny that they caused the problem, saying things like "no, no, they are bad pants, bad quality." They are actually very nice and expensive slacks that are no more than 4 months old. I thought that was an EXTREMELY rude comment. They also told me that whenever someone complains about a problem with the clothes they pick up from the cleaners, it is "never our [the cleaners] fault." I find that statement very revealing about this business. They refused to help me and I left feeling very disrespected and frustrated. This was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, across any industry. They ruined my slacks and, needless to say, I will not be going back. I do not recommend these cleaners. On the off chance something goes wrong with your clothes, good luck dealing with them. read more
