I was skeptical of finding anyone to do my brows as I had been seeing the same lady in NYC for 11+ years and it was devastating saying goodbye to someone who kept my brows perfect! I asked a colleague of mine for recommendations and she said without hesitation to go see Nisha as she's quick and does a good job. Lucky for me while browsing Groupon I found a great deal on eyebrow threading at Nisha's brow bar (50% off). Eyebrows are normally $10 which is not a bad price! I went today after work to an empty salon and was greeted immediately by Nisha. She asked what services I came in for and asked if I was familiar with threading, which of course I was so there wasn't a whole lot of explaining to do. She asked if I wanted to clean up my brows or wanted to reshape them. After a quick chat to set the stage that I just wanted a clean up of my brows and maintaining the shape, she pointed me to a seat and it was time to hope that I came out with two nice, cleaned up, and even eyebrows. Nisha was super quick and while threading can be painful, her technique minimized the pain as much as possible. In a few minutes she was like you're all done and handed me the mirror to take a look. I paid the extra fee to have the owner, Destiny, do my brows herself. No messing around. I walked in and she was ready. The space was clean, and I dropped into some casual conversation with her and her coworker with ease. They were both free when I walked in, but both chairs filled within a few minutes. I explained where I was going/my needs, and she did her thing. My brows are a little uneven as far as thickness, so for the first couple of days I added a little fill to the one, but after a couple of days they evened out and still looked great. The shape was perfect, they were the right shade, and gave me the POP I wanted. I went in the ocean multiple times, salty hot springs, hiking in the Mexican sun, endured a myriad of pillowcases in hotels, plus had my sleep mask and several different hats on, and we're still looking pretty good now that I'm home from my adventures. She asked a lot of questions about what I was looking for, gave me options to choose from, and even priced me out before getting things started. That was really appreciated by the way. She sold me on a membership type deal where they collect $50 on a monthly basis and add it to a "bank" that I can use for services in the future. It pretty much adds up over time until your next visit and then it doesn't feel like as much of an expense when the time comes. I've done this at nail salons and can confirm it's a nice thing to have. For this trip I went with some wrinkle relaxers, aka botox. It had been a hot minute since the last time I got it and it was a breeze. Pain free to the point where I hardly felt it. My results came in within a week or so and they're great. I definitely plan on continuing so I can maintain some youthful skin as I age. I have no doubt that I'll give their other services a go in the future. My lashes were also clearly unevenly curled which was unfortunate. I feel like Kay was not taking care of me, assisting other people while it was seconds from removing product from my lashes. I was never in a private room like the other clients, but sat in the main room where people entered and left the building.
