Fast service! Our server was on top of it!! And good came out extremely fast. Actually everything was very fast we were in and out within 30 mins! Crazy! Although, we did not have any beer or cocktails. Cheese curds were classic greasy cheese curds but we enjoyed them. The tuna bowl was spendy for its size. The seared tuna hit the spot but the rice and veggies were plain in flavor. The side ceasar salad wasn't great, I think the lettuce was a little bad, soft and wilty. Came for a business lunch and it was lovely! The food was all delicious and the service was prompt. We had fries and nachos to start, two orders of shrimp tacos, an order of street corn steak tacos, and a chicken sandwich. The tacos were delicious!! Highly recommend. We had dinner here on a Friday night. Not too long ago wait to get a table, despite the probably new hostess seating two other couples who came in after us, and another party ahead of us. She admitted that she forgot to check the waitlist, so hopefully just a simple mistake and not a sign of management not training their staff properly. Either way, still seated within about 15 minutes. They don't do call ahead/reservations/not on Open Table at this time. The waitress was very nice and on top of things. Plenty of staff to take care of everyone, with additional food runners. The Old Fashioned was great! I had the chicken tacos and they were delish. Generously stuffed-- 2 come with the entree and that was plenty. The chips and salsa that came with were great too. Ambiance is a typical bar & grill. Large bar in the middle of the restaurant. We stopped in on a Saturday at 4:45pm. We found the place was already bustling, and it was full by the time we left--so get there early, it's popular! We were seated right away in a section near the entrance. Though there are televisions all around tuned to different games, the noise level wasn't bad, for which I was thankful. About 5:15, they turned on a fire wall right behind my husband's seat, and that looked really cool. Our service was adequate throughout our visit. I ordered a cider. We shared a cheese curds appetizer. They get their curds from Little Red Dairy, a local maker, and you can truly taste the freshness. The curds were huge and absolutely delicious. For my entree, I had the Strawberry Goat Salad. I didn't add protein, and that worked out great, because the salad was huge with generous amounts of candied walnuts and cheese. Loved it! I would definitely come here and order this again. My husband had the Roasted Prime Rib Sandwich. It was a nice big sandwich and came with a lot of fries. He really enjoyed it. The store is a nice vibe with side rooms for private parties. While place is known for their burgers, I tried their featured Buffalo Chicken Flatbread. The flavors were great and represent the flavor buffalo chicken wings with tiny pieces of celery and ranch/blue cheese on the side. This is a strange name for a restaurant. Let me explain why I had dinner here. Hubby and I went to Rochester, Minnesota to visit my cousin and his wife. They treated us to dinner. After ordering a margarita and chicken wrap, I asked the server how the restaurant got its name. She said the owner likes goats and his wife's favorite color is purple. Okay, I thought. (crickets) The name is not as exotic as I thought it would be. Now for the wrap: It consisted of croutons, spinach, bacon, grilled chicken, onions, romaine lettuce and very light mayo (I'm not a fan of mayonnaise). I've been to Purple Goat a few times - most recently I ordered the Hefe tacos, based upon recommendations from my friend and the server. I was super disappointed. There was very little chicken in the tacos - it was loaded with rice, as a filler. The flavor was great - and loved the chimichurri sauce. It came with some tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa tasted a lot like ketchup to me. It was thick and sweet. Had great service, always do, however, for the price I paid for the tacos, the value was not there. Definitely go the sandwich route, those are a much better value for what you pay. read more

Both came with the usual great frys. The patty melt was very good, cooked just the way I asked. The wrap was chicken oh hum. Light on the bacon and dressing, too bad. Oh, and the service was just ok. The dressing was average and the Romaine was almost it shredded . The Salmon was cooked well and it did come out without croutons as asked . My daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo. This talked about being all homemade in the description but it too was very basic and the frozen garlic toast that everyone uses was at best . I'll just say average at best . This is probably a 3.5-star, but I'll lean toward 4 because of the fast and prompt service! Food was decent. Burger had some solid flavors as I tried one of the more interesting combinations after asking for a recommendation between a couple that I was considering. With peanut butter, bacon, and strawberry rhubarb jam, how could you go wrong? Definitely not the best burger ever, but was solid enough to get a burger fix should you need one. We ordered an appetizer, onion rings. The quality and quantity were perfect for our party of five. The beer batter was light and tasty. Clearly fresh cut onions. This place was so cool! We had to go to Mayo Clinic for my husband and found this place with great reviews. It had wonderful outdoor seating with play places for the kiddos. The inside was stellar too, had a great dividing wall with gas fireplace that set apart the two seating areas. Bar area was huge and really well set up. Only complaint was the tiny shared bathroom. Back to the food-- I'm dying to have those jalapeño bacon and cream cheese rolls again! Makes my mouth water thinking of them! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this restaurant. Great staff, a long wait that wasnt as long. Great food and drink. The restaurant actually is a newts restaurant but more upscale. The burgers definitely are great...(go fiqure) I had the chicken sandwich.. it was so tender and delicious.. i will order it again.. the sauce, which is a Chipotle mayo was perfect. Great location. Really nice inside area and bar. Good outdoor patio area, but has a lot of space to expand. They have a cute play area for kids and corn hole too. Service was really good for a newly opened establishment. Our waitress was very thoughtful and attendant. Though the kitchen did mess up our order... they forgot a side salad. But fixed it promptly. The beer selection is adequate. Needs more beers on tap. I would have liked to have some Dorthys from toppling Goliath. So not a huge selection of beers on tap, but the ones they had were good in each genre of beer. The food was good, not great. Started with their purple goat hamburger. Because why not. It had beet and goat cheese on it. The sautéed onions were way wimpy on it and they forgot my horseradish on the side. The beef patty was thick and good really nicely cooked.
