Went into today to get a few items for dinner. The time was 6 or so and upon entering I saw a…read morebunch of employees standing around chatting..I got my few articles and headed to the checkout to pay for them. IDON'T BELIEVE IN THE SELF CHECKOUTS AS IT TAKES AWAY EMPLOYMENT FROM THE LOCAL ECONOMY. I WAITED IN LINE AS THERE Were only 2 checkouts open. There were 3 people ahead of me and 3 behind me waiting for the same checkout and another one with no customers so I went to that one. He said that he wasn't open as he was going out on a break. Carts were marginally full so I asked for the manager a few times each time louder (there was an applause from the customers in waiting and an agreement that this happens often) The person at the self checkout must have called the manager then offered to help one of the pending customers with a few items to check out. The person ahead of me had a full cart so looked at her watch, then went to the self checkout. After a few more minutes of waiting the manager came forward to resolve the situation unsuccessfully.. I mentioned to the manager that I understand that the employee had to go for lunch but that he( the manager)should have taken his place at the till to keep another checkout open. At this time another employee came and went to open a checkout to checkout customers. My problem is that the managing of the employee scheduling is horrible. At one time when groceries were 1/3 the cost they are now, there were always available checkers with baggers and offers to take your groceries out to your vehicle. Employees that were stocking shelves near the checkouts were always available to help checkout customers. Whatever happened to that service? Did it go the way of the dodo bird? When you need help searching for some item ( because they have rearranged the aisle contents once again for the umpteenth time) there is never anyone around to help you but you can find 2 or so employees at the service desk all the way across the store to be only told that they no longer carry that item. I feel that the managing of the scheduling should be really looked at and employees should be versatile enough to be able to take over in times when the 'sales' are slower. I hate shopping to begin with, but experiencing frustration like this only makes it worse. I rate Super Store with a Fail for customer service..

I simply try to avoid them. However, this Walmart seems to be an exception. Due to the fact that is is in a smaller populated area, this Walmart is clean, well maintained and has ample amounts of stock when I need it.

Winners is a weird store. Not weird as in bad, just weird as in I either go to Winners and want to…read morebuy everything or I go in, and want to buy nothing and leave disgusted. My most recent visit to Winners in Leduc was scenario A (want to buy everything). Winners is a discount store (so they say) that has deals on a wide variety of products from clothes to cosmetics to accessories to home decor to candy to toys. I've been to several Winners before and sometimes the deals are really awesome, but other times the Winners price isn't that great of a deal. It kind of depends on what you're looking for, and on the original retail price of the item your looking at. I just say this because it's easy to look and go "omg 50% off" and want to buy everything, but not everything is that great of a deal. That being said I do generally like Winners. I don't usually find much in the clothing department, just because their plus size selection is limited to one rack, but I always like browsing the accessories and the purses and handbags at Winners. The have some random brands I don't recognize, but then ones I do like Guess. On my last visit, I found a nice, basic gray over the shoulder purse that is perfect for traveling, and it was only $25, which seems like a great deal to me. I also really like browsing the home department section at Winners because they have cool home decor stuff, but it isn't just double decker bus figures and Buddha statues, there's more practical home stuff. Case in point the 6 pack fo wooden hangers for pants that I got. Winners can be quite busy, particularly on weekends or after holidays, but Leduc's Winners is nice. It's a decent size (not quite as big as some of the ones in Edmonton) and it's always clean and well organized. The staff are pretty friendly, and even when being the 15th person in line for the checkout counter it doesn't take too long to check out. I don't always shop at Winners, but I generally like it when I do.

The selection of products and especially sizes of clothing is consistently limited and picked over at the Leduc store. This store does have a clearance section, but I find that it is usually filled with broken items that are not really discounted at all. My recommendation would be to go to one of the Winners locations in Edmonton as the selection in these stores tends to be better.

Seems like all the Walmart I've been to lately are going under major renovations and reorganizing with in the stores. Added security measures such gates that automatically open with sensors as you enter and exit by the self checkout the store with more cameras. Found what I was looking for and went through self checkout. The associate was very friendly and moving customers along as soon as a checkout till became available.

I am mostly quite satisfied with Walmart, its products , and it's services. I like Great Value…read morebagels, especially the plain ones. The cinnamon raisin bagels are very short on raisins. In a package of 6 bagels, there is often 1 or two with only one raisin in each bagel, and another 1 or two with 2 or 3 raisins. They need to double the amount of raisins in their recipe. Thank you.

This store is your standard Walmart store located on the right just as you enter Vegreville from…read moreHighway 16 from the west. The parking lot is large with a few other stores nearby. Just like all Walmarts, there is a McDonald's inside. The store has a deli and bakery section. The fruit and vegetable section looks very clean. Aisles are wide so two carts can pass each other. The prices are great and the shelves are well stocked. The craft section always has clearance items for cheap prices. You can get everything here from groceries, health and beauty, housewares, pharmacy needs, electronics, automotive supplies, and a seasonal section. I have been here several times in the evening and noticed it's not very busy. The cashiers are friendly and very efficient. Be sure to bring your own recycling bags as Walmart now charges 5 cents per bag up to 10 bags.
