And they deliver for a modest price if you want a larger object and don't happen to have your own truck. Staff are friendly and helpful, you'll think of them as friends fairly fast. Browsing the store is always a pleasure because there are so many interesting things to see. I am so looking forward to my next visit.

I was getting cabin fever sitting around the house over Thanksgiving, so I decided to hit up…read moreWindsor to see what I could do with myself. I checked and Devonshire Malls right over the border here, about 3 miles or so. I checked the directory and it had a decent selection of things to check out, so off I went. The parking lot here's atrocious, and really needs an overhaul. Small parking spaces, uneven pavement, potholes and a general mish mash of messiness. NOT a great first impression. It's not the fanciest mall and seems rather dated on the outside. Could use a facelift big time. BUT, walking in it was a totally different story! The inside was great. Very up to date and let me tell you, the bathrooms here are NICE! LOTS of stalls, very cool with a beautiful sink setup with lots of mirrors and room to move around. I will say, the mall was bigger than I'd expected. It's laid out a little different and seems to "fork off" a bit. They have a Roots store here, which I used to love as a kid, but I think has since closed in Birmingham. It was all the rage when I was growing up! They had a cute kitchen store that was going out of business but I didn't buy anything there at all. They had a Hudson's Bay store, but I didn't really like anything there either. The food court here was super cool, large and had a great selection of food to choose from. I secretly wanted to try the Mandarin place but was holding out since I had other plans for lunch. They also had some super nice Christmas decorations up along with a "meet santa" area as well. It was so cute! Overall, it was a decent experience to get some steps in, see what's happening here and get out of the house!

Parking is plentiful but can be a walk depending on where you park. Inside is welcoming and updated in a modern design. Very clean as well. Food court is solid! Tons of options and places to sit. Lots of stores! Nothing too high end but still some good stores to check out. Roots is my personal favorite. Benches throughout if you needed a shopping break. Spent a few hours here both shopping and eating.

I suppose that tells you how long ago rebellious youth culture identified Old Navy with corporate America or capitalism run amok. Things haven't changed much. One of the ubiquitous stores in the ON/Gap/Banana Republic chain, this one serves Windsor and counts as a pretty sad representative. What used to be a popular alternative to the same old shirts at Mariposa or Zellers or The Bay, Old Navy just looks terrible. The place is completely filthy from top to bottom. Clothes are flung on the floor, scattered ankle deep on the floors of the changing room. The clearance sections are almost unmanageable and, should you suffer from anxiety or OCD, stay away. The savings are not worth the possible breakdown as you find a baby's shirt next to men's board shorts, a size XL poncho, and four pairs of sandals all on the same rack marked "S" and presumably for shirts. Old Navy has cute stuff, especially on the cheap for shirts or lounge/workout wear. Their compression leggings are actually pretty inexpensive compared to other competitors. You would do well to use the website exclusively for buying things rather than go in here. Windowshop by all means. Check out whether the cute pattern in the picture looks as good on paper thin cotton. But try to avoid shopping here. Checkout lanes are breathtakingly slow. Finding staff is an adventure of itself, and once you've braved that beast, getting an employee to act is an exhaustive task. The old maxim "If you want something done, do it yourself" doesn't apply when you can't get into the stock room without breaking a few laws. The changing rooms are a total disaster, messy, and the effort to check how many items you have is practically non-existent. Every now and then someone may appear with a purpose, but then they vanish the instant you turn your back.
