Large family gathering at this spot on a recent weekend. Place was packed and servers / kitchen were a bit overwhelmed, but the ladies were very pleasant and did their best to keep up. Wife ordered a grilled fish dish and I had the fish-n-chips platter. Although my fried cod filets were very flaky and tender, the batter itself had no flavor at all. Tartar sauce was slightly tangy and good. Fries were cooked just right, nice and crispy. Cole slaw was of the creamy variety. My wife said her breaded fish filet was dry in points, due to how thin it was cut. The green bean side dish seemed very wilted. Overall, this seems to be a decent family diner style restaurant with a large menu to select from. read more

I was here with a large group which can be difficult to accommodate but I was not impressed with the food at all. The shrimp scampi has entirely too much oil and is overwhelming with garlic yet somehow there are no other herbs or spices. This came with a side salad that had no dressing. read more

Rough visit. Ordered a bar drink that never arrived. Food was marginal, salmon salad dry with a huge amount of bagged Parmesan cheese dumped on top. My partner got the filet mignon salad and it looked like a deconstructed Philly cheesesteak. Manager/owner came by with a vacuum before we were done and the odor was awful. First time visit for dinner. My team at work gave me a gift certificate for Christmas. Four of us decided to put the gift to use this evening (a Saturday night). The place was humming. Lots of people. I have to be completely honest here! I was so very impressed! The quality and attentiveness of their staff was way above restaurants that charge double what our dinners were priced at! Watching the waitresses moving so quickly between two dining areas I was impressed--happy, great teamwork, fast--demonstrating strong commitment to their customers. We had Rebekah C--despite how many tables she had she was absolutely on it--I'd hire her in an instant! The food was very affordably priced and the value exchange for both the quality and volume served greatly exceeded our collective expectations. I will absolutely be back and look forward to becoming a "regular." Great job Canal Grille owners and staff! read more

Amazing fried grouper, friendly staff, good drinks, and easy parking! I've been coming here with my dad for many years and have always enjoyed it. The owners and staff are all super nice, and the interior is clean and quiet with a small bar with TV's in the front. I usually order the fried grouper which has an amazing nut (pecan?) coating. The drink options are good, and the price is fair. If you're looking for a nice meal or even just a drink at the bar, I definitely recommend the Canal Grille read more

We ate here before the Pandemic and it was always decent food and a good dining experience. Since COVID, we only do carry out and have ordered twice from here with issues both times. The list time was the worst. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala and when he got home with our food, the pasta that he ordered to eat the chicken over, was completely missing. Our salads were missing the dressings that should have come with them, and my shrimp & scallop pasta was absolutely bland and had zero flavor. I feel like for the money we spent on dinner, we got no where close to the value. Unfortunately we probably won't order carry out from here again. read more

So, this is the 3rd time we have tried to have the prime rib on Friday. We always tell the waitress medium rare, medium rare, medium rare. This past Friday we got there early to get it the way we liked it cooked. It came out well done, no pink. We were told they were out of it, we chose not to take the order. They however charged us for the side salad & baked potato ($8.00). I get they have to cover their cost, but it was not our fault the kitchen did not get it right. The owner told us when they put the AuJus on it, it finished cooking it??? Well very disappointed, not sure we will ever be back. Our waitress was very apologetic, we could not punish her for her tip, not her fault. read more

The Canal Grille is a great little local spot with good food and great service. Reservations on a weekend night are highly recommended, as we saw their lobby full as we ate our meal at 7 on a Saturday. Our party of 5 came in and everyone enjoyed the food and service. Stephanie, our sever, was great at checking on us and had no trouble splitting checks at the end of the meal. My husband and I had the fish and chips and the smothered steak, both with side salads. I also had a glass of wine and he had a coke. Our total was only $40. The fish was some of the best I've had in a really long time. I only wish it came with 3 pieces instead of 2. This place was packed, so I can only assume that locals all agree that this is the place to go in Canal Fulton for a nice meal out. read more

We tried this for the first time and will definitely come back. One meal was the Lemon Butter Scallops with Fettuccine Alfredo side dish after a large garden salad with White French dressing. Very good. The other meal was the the Blackened Grouper with broccoli side and French Onion Soup appetizer. The soup was a full bowl and delicious, with plenty of cheese. Sarah was a great help in our choices and very attentive and nice. We will come back to try another entree. read more

Kinda hesitant to post because if everyone heard how amazing this place is then there would be a wait to get in. This has easily become my favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is clean and professional in the dining area. The bar has a very friendly atmosphere. The food is originally what made us keep coming back. Very flavorful and reasonably priced. I had a less than acceptable experience on Wednesday night when I waited 45 minutes for my credit card to be processed. We had friends coming for lunch. We hadn't seen for quite awhile. My daughter gave us a few ideas. We decided on the Canal Grill. It was perfect. Atmosphere was like like remembering my Grandmother's dining room. The choices on the menu were outstanding and many to pick from. Our friends chose the pecan chicken and the fish and chips. Been wanting to try this place but never in canal Fulton for too long but today we spent a whole day there. First off the hostess was excellent with her promotion of many of the great things on their menu. I had been wanting some ribs for a while so I settled on a chicken and rib combo plate. Not even our own waitress came out to tell me they didn't have ribs. The back of the house didn't communicate with the front house to tell they didn't have any ribs. So I got various chickens to try. One very dry and one better. Couldn't tell which was which because of the home made bbq sauce which seemed to taste like a brand I have had before. If it wasn't from everyone else's meals being amazing, I dont know if I would give it 4 stars. read more

The canal grille is a nice spot to go in Canal Fulton. The staff is very friendly. I have tried the Caesar salad which is good. I got the crab stuffed portobello which was very flavorful. My bf Mike refused to eat it because of the seafood (still working on that). I was on a crab kick so i also got the crab legs! They were cooked perfectly and only 20.99! The menu is huge and likely to have whatever you are looking for. There is also a nice bar area good for having a cocktail if you want to avoid the sports bar scene. For the area, it's some good quality food & a nice variety of options. Not over priced. Service is good. French onion soup is awesome. The blackened grouper was overloaded with spices but the walnut crusted grouper was really good. Their Brussels sprouts weren't that great, they tasted like a steamed microwaved bag. I've also had their pasta with scallops on it and it was really good. They have really good cheesecake and peanut butter pie. So save some room for dessert. I'm not even a desserts person when I go out to eat but listen, it's really important to get a piece of one of their pies or cakes. Get it to go if you need to. It's what made me give it 4 stars not 3 ;) read more

Our office ordered from here today, as we have done multiple times. when myself and a coworker started eating our salads we noticed that there were small green bugs crawling out of the salad. My Coworker immediately bagged our food up and took it back to show the owner. When she got there the owner said that, that was impossible and when she looked at the salad she physically picked a bug off of it and said "I don't know what you're talking about" all the while other bugs were still crawling on the salad. the owner was very unprofessional and rude and unwilling to accept the fact that their food had bugs in it. I understand mistakes happen but to blatantly ignore and refuse to accept the issue was very unsettling. The owner finally agreed to give us our money back, but then tried to tell me if we order again to not order the mixed greens because they do not wash their salad. The funny thing is, it was ordered as an iceberg lettuce only salad. We will never be returning. read more

When I called to complain the manager gaslighted me, telling that sushi is supposed smell and taste like that. I eat sushi regularly and this was not normal or appetizing. They requested I drive the dish back in the order to discuss a refund. No thanks. Not driving back in the middle of dinner leaving my partner to eat alone. I just won't ever be back.
