You can definitely taste the difference. The staff is very friendly and unpretentious. And the prices are remarkably reasonable (see photo). If you're interested in the history, they have a summary on the back of the menu and on the Facebook page. It all goes back to the 1950s and an eccentric husband & wife named Chester & Violet Guiles. The local kids started calling Chester "Cannibal Guiles". Once a week they'd go to Deer River to buy groceries in a horse drawn buckboard. One final note: I read a silly previous review accusing this place of being "disgustingly racist". I saw no evidence of racism whatsoever. In fact, there was a Native American gentleman cooking on the day I visited. I complimented him on the burgers and we had a nice chat. He's a nice dude.
