A nice diner in Canal Winchester. The Canal Wigwam is a very clean diner, with a welcoming atmosphere. My daughter had the chicken and waffles, she thought they were good. I had the Philly omelette and hash browns. Stuffed with cheese, green pepper and onions, it was delicious. I truly recommend this restaurant when in the area, and I will be back.

Omelet, home fries, rye toast and Tobasco. Very tasty, and filling!

It's right downtown so parking is on the street, but adequate. This is a busy small town staple restaurant with counter seating, tables and booths. Very busy at my visit but I was seated immediately and the service was extremely efficient, pleasant, and organized! You can see everything and everyone here and the staff was a team and the customers were all accommodated and fed enjoyably. Cute names for rib sticking, filling meals for every basic down home type food. Any age would be comfortable here as long as you have some patience. They're not slow. They don't forget you. It's just a busy place that still remembers courtesy, hospitality, and quick bits of conversation. New comer, like me, or a regular this is small town restaurant life. No pretense, no frills, just people working hard to help food make everyone's day.

Cool spot on the corner next to a brewery. Friendly folks , good diner food- with the most amazing potato's that I've ever had with breakfast. I got chicken fried steak and it was tasty. Good on the refills - took a minute to get the food. The companion had the chipped beef with biscuits and cleaned that up. Reasonably priced also.

I have to piggy back off of the reviews about the 50's style diner feel to this spot. Yeah, you definitely step into a time machine walking through the front doors to this spot, but in such a good, family way. You are immediately greeted at the front door, great customer service. The server was very quick to take our orders, and the food is worth the short wait. We are originally from Texas, so of course my wife is going to try out the fried steak, and to her delight, this plate did not disappoint. The portion was spot on, and the gravy was very delicious. Burger is how I want a burger, nothing over the top, no steak knife stuck in the middle to hold it steady. Just a backyard style burger, simple, and very delicious. Fries were very good as well, very nice crunch to every bite. My son wasn't hungry, and so he just got the avocado toast, which he enjoyed as well. Will we be back, no question in my mind that we will. Establishment is very clean, and when you sit down, you are automatically attended to. Great spot.

(Yelp write-up #1,000). Exactly like walking into a '50's diner. The tiled walls. The retro tabletops, metallic cherry red chairs and booths. They even have a long snack bar, reminiscent of the typical small town diner in the '50's-'60s. Only thing that would've clinched it would've been Poodle Skirts and waitresses with ponytails and half-apron covered dresses. The meatloaf special was straightforward. Wonderful spices and all the necessary ingredients that make a great loaf. A big scoop of mashed potatoes and a side of corn. The simplicity of down-home cooking. Brooke is an absolute doll. She knows how to serve. Refills, a little small talk, advice on what to see in the area and iced tea for the road. You doubled your tip, my dear. I asked for nothing, she brought everything....talented or psychic, take your pick. Parking is stupid crazy here. Not their fault. Honestly, it was wonderful strolling down the old village road, just holding hands, chatting about who knows what. Next trip I believe we will park further away! 06/24

Came across this restaurant by mistake and so glad we went inside. A classic diner with awesome breakfast and sandwiches to choose from! I ordered the fry mush( served with maple syrup and butter) and Hubby ordered the tuna fish on sourdough bread and it came with chips. The mush was temperature perfect and cooked to perfection. There were three nice sized pieces, more than enough for a meal. I tried the tuna sandwich and it was delicious! Had eggs, onions, celery and spices served on toasted bread. Definitely will be back!

Ruben with mustard, no thousand islands dressing.

I bought a Rueben without thousand islands dressing and I must say the flavor was delicious. But the problem was I n the amount of corned beef served on the sandwich, it was the smallest amount of corned beef I ever had in my 62 yrs of eating corned beef. I didn't expect it to be like Cleveland's corned beef which are monstrous sandwiches but I didn't expect it to be like a slow ce of burger lettuce bologna either.

Update, came back last week and had the ham and eggs. They were devine! Ham was thick cut and nicely grilled. Eggs were done perfectly.

LOVED the food at Kay's, a food stall located inside the Saraga market on S. Hamilton Rd. Ms. Kay,…read morethe owner, is friendly and goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. I have to admit that ever since moving to Columbus 6 years ago, I've felt that great soul food is hard to come by here, but hers is definitely the exception! Came on a Sunday afternoon and tried the stuffed salmon combo. You are allowed to pick how many sides you want, and the price increases accordingly. I opted for mac n cheese and collard greens, and the greens were some of the best I've ever tried at a restaurant. Also was given a huge portion well worth the price. She was kind enough to let me sample her turkey and dressing which were delicious too. I'll definitely be back!

First, if you're not from Columbus (like us), the place is inside the International Marketplace…read more Now with the housekeeping out of the way, let's get to the goody ... After a really rough day on the lanes, we were hongry (yes, I spelled that correctly) and wanted soul food. The soul food place we'd visited the last time we were in Columbus closes at 6pm. It's a little after 7. So trusting my fellow Yelpers, I searched out soul food and Kays was very near our hotel. They, the Yelpers, as usual, got it right. Those of you who know us, know that we go in hard. Especially when the place has good customer service reviews. Our fellow Yelpers did not lie. The place is a kitchen staff by Kay herself and a young lady whom I'm assuming is her daughter? Nonetheless, her booming personality and jovial demeanor made us not care about what was cooking in her kitchen! We wanted it. The hand written flipboard menu was nothing less than charming. Made me feel like I was at grandma's where she put a note on the refrigerator saying this is what's for dinner. Don't spoil your appetite before then. Not an expansive daily special menu, which was cool, because when you haven't eaten since breakfast, you tend to go hog wild at the mere thought of food, and typically can't settle on anything. Pimp had pork chops, rice and gravy, and greens. I had the catfish and macaroni and cheese. When I say the silence was palpable when Pimp started chomping that chop ... He completely left the building. Him, pork chops, rice and gravy were in a different ethosphere. He did wish there was more gravy though. Greens were tender and well seasoned. My catfish was rolled with hands that had done family reunion fish frys for a long time. Well seasoned, coated and fried to perfection. The macaroni and cheese had the creamy, stringiness that you like to play with before you fly it into your mouth. It definitely had personality. But the coup de grace was indeed the service. I am completely angry, because we need to eat in this woman's kitchen at least once a month, and Columbus is 3 1/2 hours away from Detroit! The Saraga International Market is interesting in and of itself, but I'll post a different review on that. Kudos Ms. Kay. We're looking forward to them oxtails on our way home tomorrow and to many visits in the future.

Good things - -The staff is usually pretty kind and friendly. - Our timbit orders have never been incorrect...they may have been stale, but never incorrect. Needs improvement - (Here is my feedback just from today). - Forgot to give me my toasted bagel with cream cheese. Oh, and only one side of my bagel had cream cheese? This seems to happen a lot which I don't understand. Aren't both sides supposed to be spread? - Hot peppermint mocha latte was not hot and tasted like black coffee. TIP - Avoid ordering this drink altogether! This is my second time ordering it. Both times have been a disappointment as it just tastes like a weak black coffee - there's no peppermint flavor to the drink at all. - Hashbrown was burnt and hard as a rock. - Although I had over four food items - not a single napkin was provided in any of my bags. It seems that napkins are never provided at this locations and I ALWAYS have to ask for them. Why do we have to ask for napkins? The irony in all of this is that my daughter and I have never had a poor experience when we actually have time to order inside or dine in. It's like all of the "bad food" gets served through the drive thru. I think that the drive thru needs to step up theirs game a little bit in order to increase these star ratings. I

El Tacoriendo - Columbus, OH…read more The building looks like the kind of spot you'd second-guess after dark--like pulling up to a Linden carryout when the streetlights flicker--but trust me, If you judge a taco by the tortilla (and honestly, you should), this place is worth checking out. I tried four different tacos, all excellent: * Asada - Tender and smoky, almost buttery in a warm corn tortilla that stayed together the whole time. * Suadero - Melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a gentle richness that made it feel almost luxurious compared to the usual grilled beef. Not greasy, just satisfying. * Cecina - Salty and deeply savory, the kind of flavor you keep thinking about later. * Barbacoa - Soft and shredded, perfect for soaking up lime juice. Each taco was loaded with fresh cilantro, chopped onions, grilled onions, and cucumber slices. Pricing & Portions * Tacos run about $3.50 each. * Even after skipping lunch, two were plenty to fill me up. * Extra salsas are $0.50 each, and worth it. Salsas * Green salsa: Mild, fresh, and bright. * Red salsa: A little kick without being too spicy. * Both were great together, but the meat was seasoned well enough to eat plain. Atmosphere & Service * Bright painted chairs and colorful walls give it a casual, welcoming feel. * The dining room has plenty of space between tables and a laid-back vibe. * My takeout order was packed neatly in sturdy containers and ready in about 10 minutes. * Staff were friendly and patient when I had questions about the menu. ‍ Final Take If you're tired of tacos that taste mass-produced, this spot will feel like a small revelation. After a 4/4 win, I'm already planning to come back to try some of their more unique proteins (like lengua, buche, or tripe). Consider this your sign to give them a shot. 5/5 - Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe start debating what to order next before you even get back to your car.
