We were thrilled to find this newer speakeasy in Breckenridge. We were greeted in the hospitality area of the hotel lobby with a welcome sip, escorted through the heart-of-house corridors, and passed through a secret door into the well-curated, classic speakeasy. Service was top notch, where each bartender listened to our drink preferences and took bold, yet calculated risk while concocting a unique cocktail just for us. It was an intimate and very enjoyable experience.

Interesting and unique speakeasy in Breckenridge. So secret that even the hotel staff did not know what we were talking about when we asked them where to check in for Canary. We checked in at the front desk of the hotel lobby, then asked to wait for someone to escort us. That took almost 30 minutes for someone to show up (well past our reservation time). Then we got escorted through the kitchen to the "secret location" behind a somewhat hidden door. Kind of a cool entrance. The drink ordering part was a little confusing, as they ask you what you like then try to tailor a drink that fits your tastes and your mood. The drinks were great - well prepared, tasty, and unique. We sat at a table because there were 4 of us and the bar only had 2 seats open. There was really only the bartender as service staff, taking our order, making our drinks and delivering back to our table. Service was slow for that reason. I would recommend sitting at the bar for more interaction with the bartender and better service. But a cool experience and we had a great time.

I have been to Canary twice, once last winter and once this August and it was pure magic both times. I really loved the DJ they had this summer, it was truly the vibe! The drinks are spectacular and it is such a great place to enjoy the night. You feel like you went back in time and you definitely lose track of it! Canary is a true speakeasy, good luck finding it!! Cannot wait for Canary Apres this winter season.

    1. Atmospheres: Fantastic layout, very clean and great music (just the right volume to hear it but…read morehave a conversation). We sat at the bar because we heard great things about the happy hour from the locals. 2 Food: We researched before coming to Breckenridge what place had the best burger and Aurum's French Onion Burger came up at the top of the list. It did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection (we like medium rare) and the sea salt french fries were delicious (no condiments needed for the burger or the fries)!! 3. Employees: The Hostess was friendly and got us seated right away. The Bartenders (Mike and George) made our evening a blast. Mike Ruda has a signature drink on the menu that he created called the Duck Fat Cadillac and it is a home run cocktail (10 out 10)!! George Johnson is a great conversationalist and is engaged with the customers. We showed him a twist to our favorite drink back home in San Antonio, the Carajillo and he made it perfectly! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Breckenridge and make sure you grab a seat at the bar and enjoy the conversations and the Duck Fat Cadillac!!

First off we stopped here for their amazing happy hour. They have great drink and food options…read morewhich are available throughout the whole restaurant from 4pm-6pm daily. Now I recommend going early for happy hour or making reservations. We were heading out around 5:30pm and there was no seating available. For happy hour I had a glass of Rosé and lemon parmesan fries. The food, people, and ambiance were so amazing, we made dinner reservations for the whole fam. Luckily there was availability. That night we were sat promptly when we arrived and the table was set up with menus and water waiting for us. For appetizer, we started off with the Parker House rolls with the house honey butter and OMG those rolls are so fluffy and delicious. Highly suggest getting the rolls if you like bread. The butter complimented the bread beautifully. I started off the night with the blackberry smash with tequila and it was delicious. Just the right combo of sweetness. For entree we went with their Pasta Rotante which for the night was a crazy flavor combo of tomato, pumpkin seeds, crunchy carrot strings, sage and chicken sausage. I'm probably missing other ingredients, but it was a dance of flavors on the tongue. Our waiter recommended pairing this with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was the perfect compliment.

The evening started with them not remembering the food allergy that I told you about when i submitted your survey, but I digress. We started with a martini and an old fashioned. The martini was tasty but half of it was missing like where's the rest of my drink ‍. Second I had to ask for plates, not sure how you forget but remembered to give them to the table next to me ‍. At this point I'm over it and prefer my experience at raticato. Next strike, you ask us to order everything and you'll course it out but instead you interrupt us mid chew and ask to clear the table for our meals, absolutely unacceptable. How do you rush your customers. I get it's 8pm but you're open until 9:30 and if you're in a rush go home and send a server that wants to be there. Service, service, service. It was absolutely non existent and at a restaurant that isn't McDonalds prices, do better. You never came back to our table and asked if the food came out ok or if we needed more drinks. As a matter of fact, my spouse walked to the bar and ordered their own drink, unacceptable. Absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't enjoy our meal because the service was so poor and I'd absolutely not return. We had the Halibut, which was tasty but could do without the ro and the chicken dish, which was prepared well. The steak tartare was just ok and the bread and hummus was a good addition. Nah, wouldn't recommend. Please have a conversation with Olivia Z., if she's having a day she needs to exit and not work that day in hospitality. P.s. she also rushed another table that wanted to enjoy the chicken dish but she was too focused on leaving that she told them they should get dessert instead.
