Also grabbed the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, which was smoky, balanced, and honestly one of the better cocktails I've had in Breckenridge. The vibes were great, super relaxed but lively, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming without being overbearing. Solid food, strong drinks, and a place that actually feels fun to be in. I was going to be in Breckenridge for a few hours during lunch time, and wanted to get a bite to eat. I googled lunch restaurants in Breckenridge and this was the first one to pop up. I checked out the menu and everything looked good and the restaurant looked big and emphasized not having to wait long for a table basically so we decided to check it out. Upon entering, we were greeted and told we couldn't be sat till our entire table was there. Someone was paying for parking right out front but they still wouldn't seat us. No worries, they came in 2 minutes later and sat us immediately to a table on the first floor in the back corner which was nice and cozy. I will say, they put way too many pillows in the booth to the point I had to stack them up and put them on chairs to make room. Also. The tables on the first floor are so close together that you are squished and touching the persons chair at the table behind you. We had to squeeze into the booth side cause we couldn't fit someone in the chair on the other side cause the persons chair from the other table was too close. Our server was extremely friendly and helped us with everything. The food and drinks came out super quick too. The food was pretty average, but it did the job. One thing to note is that they don't really have lunch here. They have breakfast till 4 and then dinner after that. The only non-breakfast foods were sandwich type things such as burgers and chicken sandwiches. We would have chosen another restaurant if we would have known they didn't have regular food during the day also. My wife and I had a great lunch at Horseshoe during our day in Breck this February. Giving it four stars as it was good, but not a place I'd feel the need to return to. The food was hearty, tasty and generously portioned. Chips and queso blanco were the perfect start to our meal. For mains, I got the Birria Tacos and my wife got the Carne Asada Cheesesteak. Both were very tasty and we had plenty for leftovers. The cocktails were so-so. Service was super fast and friendly. This place is a must stop if you're ever in Breckenridge. Something you need to know though, they have two menus. One for lunch and one for dinner. We wanted steak but we had apparently seen a dinner menu online so know during the day is lunch and no steaks. That was okay though because the lunch menu had some really good options. For our appetizers we got CHIPS And QUESO BLANCO, CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS and MEXICAN STREETCORN AND CHICKEN DIP. The queso and chips were good but not my favorite, my daughter tore it up though. My favorite was the Brussel sprouts they were nice and crispy and the seasoning it was in was very delicious. The street corn chicken dip was to die for l. The corn was nice and crisp and paired perfectly with chicken. For my main meal I got grilled Mexican salad and added shrimp. I have never had a grilled salad and I don't think I want it any other way ever again. The only thing if you get this ask for extra dressing. The dressing is PERFECT!! Best salad I ever had. Walking in we were warmly greeted by the owner and gave us a nice seat close to the TVs for Sunday Football. The decor was perfect with the pics of the expressive horses. The restaurant was very open with a staircase that led to more tables and outside rooftop dining with a beautiful view of Main Street Breckenridge. I believe they don't take reservations OR if they do, make sure you make it way in advance. As for the food and service it's always on point and the team definitely works hard to achieve it. The real wow is the way a customer of the Horse Shoe reacted immaturely and with immense disrespect to the owner. It was hard to watch someone completely belittle another person and not step in and say something. Kelly the owner was trying hard to accommodate her customers and they were being absolutely impossible to work with. When I asked a simple menu question--what cut of pork was used for a dish clearly listed as pork--the owner responded sarcastically, saying, "Pork is from a pig." That kind of response was unnecessary and disrespectful. Later, when another server checked on us, the owner loudly interrupted and began yelling across the restaurant, announcing, "I'm the owner."
