I am so appalled by the way my friends and I were treated. It was a $30 cover charge. The bartenders are super slow! But what was completely unacceptable was my friend was racially targeted. One playing country where practically every song has a dance to go with it; the other was playing older hip hop and rap music with a little bit of modern stuff mixed in. Wasn't too busy last night. This place doesn't allow you to wear the more comfortable clear face shields that actually allow people to see your face (even though they meet the state's face covering requirement). And if you dare to just stand up out of your chair while sitting at a table without remembering to put your mask, they come and harass you. This place rocked. I loved the atmosphere. Country line dancing and live band in the front and out back sand palm trees, even a space to play volley ball in the sand. This place used to be a great place to go. This bar has gone down hill fast. Tonight i had a horrible experience. I understand they have had some problems with thier patrons as new ownership has taken over. However i was wrongly accused of doing something i didn't even do and the management didn't want to hear it. I hope new ownership will take over and this bar can once again succeed. I had my day there and 18 years of wonderful memories. It was all good till it was recently sold. I don't even recognize it anymore. The new owners are running it straight into the ground. I have no idea how the food tastes. I went here for Salsa dancing hosted by SalsaNow ( http://www.salsa-now.net/ ). The event was fun. The dance floor is large and best of all it is wood, and not warped. If you are in the Arundel Mills/Annapolis/Baltimore area, this is a good choice for Sunday night dancing. read more

I've been going here for about 15 years. I usually go about 1x a month or so, more in the summer. I like both sides, it just depends on my mood. I like to country line dance and can usually find a partner for the 2 Step and other couple dances. I also like the "club" side for when I want to just shake my $ maker, HAHAHA! I usually go on Wednesdays, Lady's Night, when it's $6 all you can drink before 10:00, $10 after 10:00. The DJs can be fickle; sometimes they will take your request and sometimes not. The food is average and drinks are okay, I usually stick to beer or something simple. The atmosphere is....well...it's a bar, not a swanky lounge or high-end club, it's a BAR. If you're the kind of person that can create your own fun and like to people watch, this is for you even if you don't like to dance. BUT if you want to learn a country dance, everyone is very helpful and accepting of beginners. See you there! read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars because that is what this place now deserves. I have been a long-time, loyal customer but can no longer support this establishment. The new owner is blatantly forcing out the country dancers to take the club "in another direction". The owner lies to our faces AND on the website about times that are supposed to be for the country crowd. Most recently, I was there on 7/6/19, a night clearly stated on their website as having country music/dancing from 6pm-9:30pm. At 6pm, their were NO bartenders inside. We had to move our own chairs to a table. At 6:30pm, the owner was "bartending"...and I use that term loosely. I asked for a tonic water. I was given seltzer water...BIG difference. There was a "beach party" outside and that crowd came in to cool off from the heat and stood all over the dance floor. Um, if the country side is supposed to be for country dancing, GET OFF THE DANCE FLOOR! Sasha doesn't seem to understand that dancers want to dance. Oh but it gets better. The other crowd from outside had a great time making fun of the country dancers. But wait, theres more! The lovely crowd that Sasha now wants in her club had a fine time getting high in the restrooms! There was a cloud of pot smoke in the mens and womens bathrooms! LOL is the best way to describe Cancun Cantina. It's both a country line dance /hip hop bar. There are two separate rooms playing each type of music which already makes for a very interesting crowd composition. I don't listen to much country but I can say the country side was a lot of group/line dancing. I went on a Saturday night and the country side had a much lighter crowd, at its most packed maybe 10-15 people. The top 40/hip hop side was much more packed. The hip hop side is really just an enclosed outdoor area adjacent to the main room. I really don't know where to start but I can say the crowd was filled with a lot of characters. Random dance battles, pole dancing, and erratic dj transitions between edm to hip hop. It really reminded me of the Old Ellicott City crowd. The drinks were around 7-8 a pop and I think the beers were a little cheaper. There is a $10 minimum for credit card charges so be aware if you're a plastic user. Honestly for me this place is just a little weird and the two in one late night places always seem that way to me. I'd go back but not at my own suggestion. We had the BEST time at Cancun Cantina, I almost thought I was back in Cancun in my former days as a fight attendant! We have never been there & drove about 1 1/2hrs looking for some good fun as their website demonstrated. We got there at 8-ish that Sunday night & walked right in after the $10 cover. There were 4 couples dancing & the music was alright, but several songs later I approached the DJ & requested my favorite salsa song which he played a bit later & packed the dance floor. It was great fun & when I asked a staff guy to request another song for me he was such a gentleman & made this Latina lady "muy contenta" It was too cute the way he(sorry dude, Idk your name)tried to pronounce the words in Spanish then gave in when it was too long, so I wrote it down for him & was dancing my heart out to another great song! SO glad the decent establishment didn't have any obnoxious & unnecessary, politicized or perverted garbage up, only American flags, as good Patriots ought. Overall, Cancun Cantina is a fabulous place to go for great fun & no fuss! A BIG FAT THANK YOU to the friendly & most accomodating staff! I wish there was a way to give 0 stars because I surly would. Where to start? Before entering Cancun Cantina you practically have to go though a TSA Cavity check, but don't worry ladies they have a female security guard to make us feel more "comfortable" with being violated. The cover charges are absurdly high and falsely advertised via their social media. It seems like no one knows what they are doing whether it be the owner, security, front desk cashiers, bartenders, or MCs. The music is awkward at times with the host. This place is the MILF capital of Maryland. Its the only place you will not only find a 39 your old MILF, but also her 21 year old daughter she has come with. It has a bit of a trailer park and ghetto element (no surprise there it's in Glen Burnie), but all in all, I always have a good time there. It's a fun place. read more

I visited this place at 11pm on ladies night. There was a door charge of $10 which was cool with me. The drinks were free all night which were rail (understandable). The music played was hip hop by a dj. The place was split into two sides, one side had country and the other had hip-hop. The country side seemed like more of a restaurant compared to the other side. Its not the best place Ive seen interior wise BUT on those nights where there's no where else to go and you want to drink and dance without being classy at all ..THIS IS THE PLACE YOU GO TO. lol read more

Never ever ever again!!!!! Took almost two hours and 45 minutes for two slices of French bread pizza. Placed order at 5:15. At 7:50 I asked about it (the sixth time I had to do so). The food had come out 45 minutes earlier (two hours after ordering) and had been sitting on the cooler with the bartender working around it the whole time. When it arrived it was cold sloppy mush. I took three bites and it literally made me sick and I started choking. The guy next to me yelled for the bartender to "get this guy some water...he's choking". Bartender pulled out a bottle of water but refused to give it to me until I gave him $2 for it. Once I got it up and out on my own I confronted the owner who happened to be there. Complete indifference to the entire situation. It's a sad day when a restaurant is more concerned about a $2 payment than the safety of its customers. Not sure what to say about this place. If you like country line dancing and hip hop all in one, this is the place to go. You can't miss this place, even though it's in the middle of nowhere. Iniside you have line dancing and the country music and everyone dressed up in their boots and cowboy hats. If you walk outside to the back they play all the latest hip hops tunes. There's sand and a couple bar stands and a stage for "girls only" to dance on. The bartenders looked like wannabe coyotes. Other than that drinks weren't too expensive. I did run into Tim Silva from the UFC which was pretty cool, since my bf is a UFC fan. read more

Love this place! However, if you are not into country music like that you will hate it. There is a back bar that plays more popular music and also has live rock bands from time to time and its really cool too. But i prefer the main country bar the bartenders are all very very nice. On Wed they do dance lessons before the bar opens which is cool for someone like me who grew up in the south and always wanted to learn the line dances that go along with my favorite country songs. The only flaw i have with this place is the skanky dressed cowgirl wait staff but hell thats just because im a woman and no woman wants to see women you think are hotter then you walking around giving out beer wearing little to nothing. lol. but this really is one of my favorite places to go! read more

Attention, Latin Dance aficionados! This place has a great Latin night on Sunday! It's also Ladies Night, $6 gets you in the door, and rail drinks all night! Personally, I fill it with Diet Coke but that's just me. Cancun has one of the best dance floors I have ever seen and probably the best in a club setting. We have a regular crowd that is very friendly and welcoming new friends to our circle. Management has listened to our requests to play more salsa. They play a mix of salsa, bachata, merengue, cha cha and reggaeton along with a little bit of mainstream hip hop later in the evening. Oh, and I forgot to mention free dance lessons, in case you are new to Latin dancing and are nervous! Dancing Dave teaches the lesson beginning at 8:30. This is a interesting place. The concept is cool half country and half hip-hop and Rb. My disappointment was at the end of the night when exiting with my girlfriends. A 60+ lady who is the cashier was cursing out a guy who seem frustrated about being cold. The cashier was just very rude and absolutely unprofessional. As a employee she should've kept her composure. She said, "I don't give a f--- what you think. You are annoying and are getting on my nerves. Get the F--- out of here! After two visits, Friday and Saturday, I had put this place on my "nightlife blacklist". As a couple of reviewers have suggested, this is definitely a MILF heaven. I think I saw a couple of 50 year olds gnawing off at the bar the last time I went. After that, I knew it was time for me to go. For a guy, I paid $10 to get in (both Friday and Saturday). I'm definitely not a country guy, so I maneuvered my way to the other room, where the Top 40 resides. There was a live band performing when I went on a Friday. The band was not bad, but less than half the crowd was actually into it. From the amount of drunken people dancing completely offbeat, to the nearly double male to female ratio, it was enough for me to "X" this place off my list. Quick suggestion regarding parking: you might either want to get here early, or expect to park a distance away from Cancun Cantina. The good thing is that there is a shuttle bus that will take you from a remote location to the club. I don't even know where to start...... I guess I just wasn't prepared for what I saw. My friend invited me and didn't tell me what kind of place it was. We pulled up and I saw a lot of cowboy hats... Kinda exciting since I like to experience new things... The cover charge was kinda high ... The drinks good . The dancing good. My friend tells me There is another section to this club that plays more 'contemporary music' I guess u would call it soo off we went .. And as soon as I stepped inside, my face literally went from excitement, to confusion to shock to disturbed. Idk who the heck that Man was performing but ...wow.... Is all I can say. Short older man Jumping across the Stage to polka music. The room was packed, ppl were slumped on the wall, idk if ppl were dancing or trying to retain their balance. It was just weird ... The business & staff were great!!! I'm a REALLY BIG BOY_525 Pounds! So I didn't fit in the arm-type chairs in the dining area. When I asked a server if an armless chair could be had ? The manager & a busboy took high back padded bench out of one of the elevated booths and put it on the dining room floor for me!!! The staff, mostly like gals from UR neighborhood (Assuming you have a 'burbs life like mine) were friendly & when I mentioned, "I'm the designated driver" they kept me topped up with Coke! Their sliders (She said they were as good as Mom's! Odd for bar grub)were better than White Castle! Parking was tight . As others stated the sound system was cranked up to 11 (As per Spinal Tap), I must be too old_because it was too loud! And the crowd was testosterone laden from young dudes to ZZ Top looking oldsters, a spattering of go-go shot girls, and yes lots of cougars. There are biker events scheduled for every weekend in the upcoming warm weather through early Fall. My only complaint was a friend & I thought we'd catch an outlaw country founder_David Allan Coe, getting in for $20 the night of the show (Bypassing Ticketmaster's fee!). He was doing "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" as we were coming in and a few ballads & covers, none of his bawdy songs & the jukebox kicked in roughly an hour later. I asked my server, "Is this intermission?" she replied, "No hon, he's done!" I was really exited to go to Cancun Cantina for Ladies Night (they give you a white plastic cup for free drinks) and after my initial walk around the club I thought it was really neat. However, after an hour or so I felt that my boyfriend and I were being watched or "judged". Even one of the bouncers came up to him and asked him to pull down his shirt, which was only at his waist. My boyfriend was dressed nicely in fitted jeans, dress shoes, and a fitted colored shirt. My boyfriend and I are an interracial couple from North Bethesda. We didn't realize at the time that we were probably the ONLY interracial couple there that night or at least on the beach bar side. I was at the bar dancing most of the night with my boyfriend and my sister so I can imagine that we stuck out like a sore thumb. Nevertheless, no matter how much we stuck out or how much dancing we did in the middle of the dance floor it does not make it okay for what happened next. My sister went to the restroom and my boyfriend and I were walking to meet her closer to the ladies room. I was behind my boyfriend when a large, white bouncer came up behind my boyfriend and put his arm around his neck. The next thing I know several other white bouncers came out of nowhere and dragged my boyfriend outside. The glass doors to the outside were shut and there I was banging to be let out with a crowd of men video tapping my boyfriend being tackled and slammed on the ground. Finally, the man preventing me from opening the doors reminded me that I could go through the front doors of the bar. By the time I got to the bouncers', a cop had handcuffed my boyfriend and was arresting him! I ran up to the cop and quickly got his attention. "I am his SOBER driver, I am his GIRlFRIEND, his was ATTACKED, what kind of establishment does this to people?" The cop started to calm down and started reasking what I said: "You two are together?" " You were with him when this happened?" "You are from Bethesda?"...um YES! To make a long story short the cop believed our story and brought us to our car. The claimed reason for my boyfriends attack and near arrest: they say he was holding a white plastic "ladies" cup. Even if he were holding a cup, the proper course of action would have been to ask him to put the cup down or ask him why he was holding the cup. NOT to attack him and have him arrested. We feel we were targeted as an interracial couple, but even if this were not the case the way management choose to create a situation out of nothing is ridiculous and dangerous. They played with our livelihoods. read more

I come here quite often to line dance. I think the belt policy for men is a little absurd if you can clearly see that it is a well dressed man and his pants aren't around his ankles. I used to like this place a lot. But they changed djs or something. And now they play more rap and pop then anything on the country side. The had the music so loud the speakers were distorted. Then when I said something to the dk he and some woman argued with me that it wasn't country but the line dancing side. When they clearly promote themselves as country bar. I typed that in for a search and they are the first to come up. They also gave me a hard time with a fleece lined vest that I wore so I had something to wear so when my friend went out to smoke I want freezing and wasn't carrying something bulky around the whole night. I understand the dress code with the hoodies but they said no puffy vests and mine wasn't puffy at all. It just wasn't skin tight. read more

I used to go there all the time but slowing down after the door charge went up and drink prices continue to increase. After the increase in the alcohol sales tax they accordingly increased the amount of beer by a quarter. But also increased the price for their bottle water by a quarter. The $10 door charge is the biggest problem that I have. For $10 I expect it to be a little better then this. It seems all that they are after here is your money. The staff though is excellent and very friendly and the atmosphere is clean. It does have two sides the country side and the dance side. I now usually go about once every two months where before I was there 3 times a week. I just cannot afford it anymore the prices have increased to much. Came here to watch my friends band and loved it. There's so many different atmospheres it's like your going bar hopping. You have the country bar inside, then you go outside to where the stage is set up and can hear live music/hip hop music when there's no band and if you go farther it's a chill beachy vibe. So much to do here. You can line dance, get good food and drinks, or even play a game of corn hole. read more

What Crystal R said below is 100% true. I heard it as well as I was leaving. It was Saturday, July 7th. She said that to one of the employee's who works there. First of all, you don't talk in that manner to one of your employee's. Second, you don't do it in front of customers. That should explain why many of the longtime employee's no longer work there. I can also confirm what Denise S wrote. Country music is taking a back seat at a minimum, and possibly going away altogether. When the country crowd is 25% of what it used to be, that speaks volumes. Kind of a divey locals hangout, but I still had a lot of fun! "Beach" volleyball outside, with an indoor/outdoor bar area. There are also roaming shot girls and at least two different scenes to choose from. It's not the best, but it's also not the worst place to party on a Friday or Saturday night.
