I always enjoy dining at Cancun and I could not give the restaurant enough praise. Their service food is excellent and plentiful. The quality and quantity are outstanding. I recently had a combination platter. The flavor was exceptional and the proportions satisfied my immense hunger. The restaurant was not crowded (which is extremely unusual) because it was a Sunday and during the Eagles Wildcard Matchup. There are tv's in the dining area which was a bonus. The service at Cancun is tremendous. The servers are the best and very knowledgeable and professional. I never had a mix up with an order and I go regularly. The atmosphere is nice and the decor is pleasant. Cancun and its sister restaurant La Hacienda (in Bensalem) are two of my favorite Mexican Restaurants around. Hector (the owner) and his family run phenomenal establishments. Go and you will not be disappointed! read more

I first started visiting Cancun Mexican Restaurant in 2015. It's always been a pretty decent place to enjoy some Mexican food. While I must admit that there has been a slight dip in quality as of late, it's still not a bad place to eat. My go to meal at Cancun has always been the chicken fajitas and it has consistently delivered in terms of portion size. They give you enough food to feed an army. The chicken fajita plate comes with generous servings of chicken, onions, peppers, refried beans, rice, salad and tortillas and that's not even mentioning the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. It's a massive meal and I rarely manage to finish it all in one sitting. The best part is that it's essentially two meals for the price of one, which is a fantastic deal at just $10 a serving. The service is always fast and friendly. They get the food out super quick and they cant do enough for you whatever you request's may be. Also, parking is plentiful in the shopping center lot, so it's nice and convenient if you're in a rush or going out to eat with kids. I recommend Cancun if you're in the meal for some Mexican food. While it may not blow your mind, it's reliable, affordable and consistently good. Check it out! read more

The place isn't super clean .On the border is better , as well as some other authentic Spanish restaurants .Also they charge if you ask for extra chips where most other places give bottomless chips and salsa. The beans were water down liquid not Hardy. The tortillas are something you could buy in the supermarket not homemade.. I could have cooked it all myself at home better & for half the cost . First time here and I'll definitely be back! While I love all the small local Mexican places in NJ, I also love a good Marg, which is hard to find with the expensive liquor licenses in NJ. Cancun was so good and so reasonably priced too! You get server chips and salsa to start. My table ordered a pitcher of a frozen mango margarita and we were able to get about 6 Margs out of it. I have a high suspicion that this restaurant "randomly" chooses when to automatically add gratuity to certain patron's bills. I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and have had this happen twice when eating out with other people of color. Interestingly, on the occasions when I've eaten here and there was a person who was not of color as part of our party, I don't recall there being an automatic 18% gratuity tacked on to the total. I also don't recall seeing any signage specifying when gratuity would be automatically added to the bill. I dined here with two friends, so it was pretty surprising for us to discover the additional charge for such a small party. The waitress told us it was due to the drinks (margaritas) we ordered, but that sounds like a pretty flimsy excuse. If this is truly a part of their policy, then there should be signage that clearly states it, and the waiters/waitresses should make sure that all customers are made aware before they order as that is not a practice restaurants typically engage in. It's a real shame that they decide to automatically add gratuity to certain checks as it likely undercuts the amount of money their waiters/waitresses could earn. I know my party felt slighted by the add-on and were less inclined to add any additional tip, when we would all normally tip a minimum of at least 20% (usually more)---especially since the waitress was very friendly and attentive. That said, the food is decent. The margaritas are large, but make sure you order yours with a branded tequila or else you'll get the house blend which really isn't worth it if you want a little buzz. The refried beans were liquid, so I'd avoid them also. I also think they could do a bit better job of cleaning the tables and walls in between guests as it is unappealing to see bits of food stuck to surfaces when you are a new guest. It's been some time since me and my friends have patronized this restaurant, but given their "random" gratuity policy I don't know if we'll be back again anytime soon--especially when there's plenty of other restaurants that don't engage in such behavior. read more

I ordered the California Burrito with chicken. What I got I can't tell you what it was because it was unidentifiable but it wasn't chicken. At first I thought it was just a hard piece of chicken and so the first one I sort of swallowed after a little bit of chewing and it went down like a piece of plastic so then I started pulling the burrito apart all the chicken was the same shape and size and it didn't look like chicken it was a funny color and it had holes in the middle of it like somebody had secured it all the way through but the holes were filled with like a clear gel I called the waitress over and said this is not chicken and she said yes chicken I said no I'm not asking you I'm telling you it's not chicken oh she said let me take it away I'll get you another one I said no I don't want one she said well take it off the bill well the bill came and we were talking and I paid it and then I realized they had never taken it off the bill so I paid for this dinner. I actually had a panic attack when I got home thinking what did I swallow that one piece that I did swallow I Can't Describe to you what this looked like it was unlike any food I have ever seen chicken or otherwise. I visited Cancun with a small group for a late Sunday lunch. We were seated immediately and given chips y salsa--the salsa was better than most restaurants I've been to. The server kept coming to our table despite us insisting we needed several minutes to decide on what we wanted. Eventually, we placed our orders and the food started coming out quickly, which I don't always consider to be a good thing. I ordered a plate of fries to be shared as an app, but the server placed the dish in front of me and didn't offer plates so that the food could easily be shared. Overall, the presentation of the food was sloppy and unappealing, but the flavor definitely compensated for it; everyone enjoyed their large burritos and tacos. Our server stopped visiting the table once the food arrived, even though they had been repeatedly coming by when we didn't need service. Overall, Cancun is worth checking out while in the area and I would return. read more

From the time I was seated untill the time I left, the service was disgustingly horrible. The place was pretty busy so it took quite a while before any one approached the table. Drinks were finally served and the order was taken. After waiting at least 30 minutes, the food finally came. I ordered a shrimp dish with guacamole and rice. The shrimp were tiny and there was hardly any guacamole on the plate. When I asked the server for more salsa, her reply was to give her a minute. She never brought it, but was always busy standing at the computer, talking to other servers. When I got my bill, the server disappeared and never came back for payment. I was going to pay with credit card but left cash on the table and walked out. I usually leave at least 20% tip but in this case left about 10% , and should not have given anything. I also had a problem at their sister restaurant , LA Hasienda in Bensalem,, which I refuse to patronize, and now I will never go back to cancun. I have never had a bad meal here or an issue with the service. You can tell that the food is authentic and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. I am always satisfied after a meal here. I did notice on our last visit that they are now charging for more chips and salsa, after you are finished what is given to you when you sit down. For my boyfriend and I, or 2-3 people, one basket is enough, but the larger groups may get stuck paying extra for more. read more

It was a Saturday afternoon and I decided to go to this place with my family, as soon as we walked in we sat in a freshly cleaned table and seat and given chips and salsa. The place had a calm atmosphere, beautiful lights, paintings, and unique designs on the chairs and booths as well as the tables. The chips and salsa were delicious! Not too much salt on the chips and the salsa and the perfect consistency of flavor and taste when combined with the chip, and the food we ordered was so savory as well! I will let you find out yourself how good the food is, because honestly you have to go here to know. There is no way to describe how good the food is. My first time here. I was one of 22 ladies for lunch. Quite a large group to deal with and they handled our group really well. The nachos and salsa were amazing. I could have eaten every basket. Food is good...still I have had better. For example, refried beans seemed more Puréed...like baby food puréed. Shrimp was delicious but on the small side. Lunch specials were a nice deal however portions were small. I ordered shrimp fajitas from the lunch special menu. It was enough to fill two small pitas. It did not come out sizzling like other places. It was un-impressively served on a plate, mixed with the peppers onions, and shrimp. And yet, I would order this again. Tasted fine. A few mishaps which is expected with a large group however it was all handled well. You can tell they wanted to please. We like supporting local family run businesses. For 6 bucks, it was pretty much just onions. - Al pastor tacos: 4/5, a little salty but decent and a good portion size. Bf got the supreme burrito which was huge and he liked it.
