Took a chance on the Puss n Boots Tavern this Saturday and stumbled upon a surprisingly quiet, well lit and clean bar. I have always overlooked this place as a dive bar but I was genuinely surprised. As the windows allow natural light to fill the large open dining area that surrounded the bar. They appear to have a catering or events room as well as another separate dining area in addition to the main dining/bar area. While their menu is very limited to all the standard bar fare and spirits. It was served fresh. The smash burger topped with bacon jam tasted like it was fresh off a charcoal grill (in a good way) the buffalo chicken cheesesteak had a good amount of heat and the meat and cheese ratios were on point . The Buffalo bites were equally tasty and I have a strong feeling the blue cheese dip was homemade. They do offer weekly events like bingo, karaoke, quizzo. I think they may have live music events as well. Our server was friendly and kept the libations coming. All in all a big surprise for a place I have overlooked so many times. The St. Patrick's Day special was on Saturday, maybe every day up 'till Monday. I had it and it was great! This was my first time visiting since about 1986 and it has grown (me too). Last time I was a kid all I remember was a meatball sandwich. That and the sawdust on a shuffle board table. This time, I saw the game is still there along with the bar and kitchen. A second bar area was added on. We walked through to another large dining area addition where we sat at one of many large tables. I ordered the ham and cabbage special and a side of fried pickles, and went back to the original bar for an Irish beverage. Everything was tasty. Thankfully, nobody pinched me for not wearing green. I've ordered take out a few times after attending an event here last fall, and food was good until recently. I wanted to try the soups. I orders a chili and a seafood soup. So the chili is loaded with meat and while I didn't like the flavor it wasn't a waste. But the seafood soup was a cup of watery broth - there was absolutely nothing else but a watery broth but they gladly charged me $6 for it. It's absolutely shameful and because of that and I won't be back. read more

What a GREAT place! In Philly area for a day, and the place we had planned to go was closed, and we saw this place close by on the gps. What a brilliant little find! I recently booked the back room at Puss N Boots for food and refreshments following a family memorial service. The buffet food serving (chicken marsala, hot roast beef, pasta, hamburger sliders, salad, veggie tray and desserts) was excellent and plentiful. The room comfortably sat about 40-50 guests with access to an outdoor patio. The service was excellent from booking, to the adjacent bar, to boxing up leftovers for guests to take home. The price was reasonable. There was not one blemish. And I can be kind of fussy. I highly recommend Puss N Boots for larger groups. read more

I had not been here since 1989. Back then it was just a great place to hang out and have a beer with friends. Yes, it was a "dive" but that was its charm. This trip I was surprised to find that the bar had expanded into a restaurant and an event room while the dive still exists. Still has great service in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. On Fridays they serve seafood. They have beautiful large steamed shrimp , served cold w cocktail sauce . It's delicious. They also have parmigiana tater tots. Mac and cheese and stewed tomatoes . Quintessential working person's dive bar, with a laid back atmosphere, decent kitchen, and friendly barkeeps. Fair beer selection on tap, but not a craft beer haven. A great place for a Burger or Cheesesteak, especially on the days that they are a special low price. Open for breakfast for the early birds. See their website for updates and events. The outdoor patio is a great addition. Enough TV screens to satisfy the most diverse taste in entertainment. Last night, World Cup, Yankees, and Mexican soap opera played their unique games. If you prefer live entertainment, it is available certain nights with local bands, or a customer acting out his comedic fantasy. I enjoyed a guy in a Rod Stewart wig hitting on the lovely bartender with one pick up line after another, until we were all listening and shouting suggestions. It was a kick! The dude was funny. Puss and Boots was a popular hang out for workers of the former US Steel. Go here if LOCAL flavor is your thing. Go here if you want to take the pulse of Fairless Hills. My husband has been a customer here since the days when he worked on the railroad cars at the Mill, as did his father. We've been dining at Puss & Boots and dining/ordering takeout at other local restaurants as they adjust to the restrictions of the pandemic. We love our local dining spots and want to support them at this difficult time. Fortunately for P&B, they'd renovated in recent years to include a pleasant outdoor dining area and an indoor area with accordion doors that make the interior seem more like an open sun room. With a little more distancing between tables and a few other adjustments, they were ready to welcome customers for a safe and comfortable outing to enjoy a meal and beverage away from one's own kitchen. (The bar room and interior dining lodge are still closed.) The staff are very friendly and welcoming - and they remember your name! They are ace-ing the pandemic guidelines, too. Lots of distancing, PROPERLY worn masks, disposable tableware, etc. The food is much better than one would expect from a locals bar, and we've noticed that it's even gone up a few notches this year from past years. If we hit on a night when fresh seafood is featured on the specials menu, we're happy to indulge. We were lucky to wander in when seared scallops and pick and peel shrimp were featured on a couple of our visits. Both were awesome. Crab cakes (my favorite regular menu item) are a daily fixture on the menu, along with burgers, French Dip, Reuben Sandwiches, a couple of salad options, buffalo wings, fish & chips, hot dogs, and cheese steaks. The fries are hand cut with the skin still on and are served with garlic mayo for dipping. (I'm not a fries person but I love THESE.) P&B has a few craft beers on tap - and a couple of boozed up slushie selections and "hard" milkshakes for cooling down in the summer. (Husband has been enjoying those.) Tasty, dense, home made bread pudding of the day rounds out a meal with dessert if one is so inclined. (Or take a piece home for the next day's breakfast!) read more

It's a little like a rural Pennsylvania Cheers, with customers who all know each other and the bartenders. I find that quaint and amusing, but it also gets a tad annoying with the constant shouting over the bar at each other and arguing over music choices on the jukebox. Returning to my hometown makes me feel self-conscious. It's especially awkward when it's time to go to a bar and I have to wonder what old acquaintance with a giant chip on his shoulder will I run into this time? Who will I have to explain the last decade of my life to tonight? So when my best friend and I were approaching the doors of Puss N Boots, I was nervous. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the smooth croon of an old man singing Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely." It was Karaoke Monday and it was beautiful. A silver haired gentleman wearing pleated slacks and a pager performed "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" with a woman who looked like my Aunt Betty. The drinks were cheap. The bartender was sweet. The crowd was a perfect mix of young and old. And although smoking is allowed, the place is big enough that it didn't bother me. And they were playing tennis on one of the three televisions! I felt so comfortable, in fact, that I sang "Daniel" by Elton John. Upon my return to the bar, I was congratulated by the bartender with a shot of Jack. I think this is my new new Monday spot. Fun atmosphere for anyone. On one side, you get the bar, pool table, and shuffle board. Drinks are cheap, and the bartenders are all very nice. The food is excellent for barfood and not going to put a dent in your pocket. Dollar beer nights are amazing, they always have music playing (wide variety, not just one genre), and even though there is smoking, you wont leave smelling like an ash tray. Thats just the one room The other room looks like something from a cabin retreat. Deer antlers here and there, Pennsbury signs all over, and its got its own bar in there too. Every time I wear one of my Puss in Boots shirts, I always get asked by someone, "Is that a strip joint?" The answer is a resounding NO, and I have to explain to that person how great of a bar Puss and Boots is. I have been a regular patron of Puss and Boots since 2006, and there are many reasons why I keep going back. Even though Puss and Boots is a bar, I think of it first and foremost as a great place to grab a bite to eat while having a drink with friends. Depending on the day of the week, there is always a special going on, whether it is food or drinks. On Saturdays, you can fill yourself for a few dollars on the 35 cent hotdogs in the steam table. Likewise, on Thursday night, you can gorge yourself on their 25 cent wings which are large, meaty, and dressed with the perfect hot sauce. The soups during the winter are great, and they always have a good variety. You really can't go wrong with anything off of the menu or the special board. Drink prices are reasonable whether it is mixed drinks or beer. There is a fairly decent selection on tap; it's not the most extensive in the area. They have all the traditional beers you will find locally, plus a lot of seasonal beers. They have both a smoking and a non smoking section. The smoking section is in the original part of the bar, and the non smoking section is in the addition that they put on a few years ago. The smoking side is more of a traditional bar, with mostly bar seating and a sparse amount of tables. The non smoking side is the inverse, mostly tables and a small bar seating section. They have a cigar smoke night four times a year where they receive a sampling of cigars and have hor dourves for a nominal fee. Overall I always recommend Puss in Boots whether you are looking for a bite to eat or sipping a cold beer. read more

This bar is my (and my boyfriend's) new favorite place. We haven't been to the dining area or outdoor seating, so this is a review of the bar only. Since I've temporarily moved back home, we need a place to chill that is not my house/back yard. And Puss N Boots has SHUFFLEBOARD. Bar: $2 Miller High Life, and $4 microbrews... smoking is allowed but it's not a smoke den. Also i saw they have cigar nights, if you're into that. Bartenders: all those we've met are super nice BUT they will refill your drink without asking, so if you're done/want to switch up your beverage choice, let them know before they open another beer for you! Entertaintment: The shuffleboard table is amazing and is usually empty. There's always a spectator or two when we play, and sometimes others waiting to play after us, but we've never been bothered. There's pool, at least 8 TVs which they are more than willing to change to any channel you want, and the jukebox is at its best when someone's playing oldies. Food: wings are great- saucy, crunchy, and spicy (but not too hot), and better than the Rover's. Sunday specials are nice and cheap. Staff seems friendly but I was the only guy in the bar (and youngest by 30 years). You can smoke cigarettes in the bar which is nice but very fitting for this dive bar. Hitting it with a 2/5 to deter other people traveling on business to not come here for a late night drink. This is a locals only place! read more

Love the food here. This is a smoking joint so if you don't smoke you come out smelling like an ash tray. Cheese steaks and wings (as long as they are not on the steam table) are good and cheap beers. Bartenders are great love going in and chatting with Eric or hearing jokes from Brian. They have a pool table here and could get crowded on the weekends. read more
