Birria tacos
Leigh H.

Birria tacos are AMAZING here! Hot chips and delicious salsa. Great pricing and friendly waiter. I will be back!

Love, it is Garcia's Amazing food, nice staff, clean clean clean environment. It's the best and my go to for Mexican food.

Just sat down...here is the front of menu!

Very clean establishment. Server/host was prompt upon entry and was welcoming. All protocols in place. Maybe because it is new, but the food was just ok. I'm so sorry! I want to come back at some point and try it again. Everyone around us got chips and salsa, which I figured was normal, but I guess we were forgotten? We did ask but they must've forgotten. I ordered their lunch combo of 3 tacos, American style two chicken and one ground beef. Side of beans and rice. Husband ordered their lomo de res en Chile de Arbol. He knew it would be very hot so asked for the sauce on the side...which it wasn't. Sadly, my beans and rice were not "homemade" and the tacos were just so-so. I don't like to be a downer in my reviews. Everything but the food was really nice. Basic Mexican-ish fare. Server was nowhere to be found although he was nice once we found him.

I'm sorry I waited this long to come in. Best authentic Mexican anywhere in the neighborhood. Mexican steak tacos . I'll be stopping in for carry out often...

Don't let the humble facade fool you - this is worth stopping in! It appears to be a small diner but inside is spacious and welcoming. The menu has all the classic Mexican fare you want but ALSO includes breakfast! They also offer horchata and Mexican Coca Cola and Jarritos. We had the pork tamales and the chorizo Mexican tacos and both were a slam dunk. The refried beans also have so much flavor! I can't wait to come back and try breakfast!

Fulfilled a quick taco-fix craving. The horchata (rice milk, if you're not familiar) is one of the best in town; smooth, flavorful, and the right amount of sweetness! Their Mexican style steak tacos were delish esp with their homemade salsas (ask for both)! Came during the lunch rush, but service was timely and friendly! Look forward to trying more menu items... And oh yeah, they serve breakfast too!

Good Service Average Food. Went back to try it again and it was closed when it was advertised to be open. La Finca is a better choice.

Tried the birria tacos and they really were great! The elote, burritos and enchiladas are also very good.

Ask the Community - Garcia's Mexican Kitchen

Specifically, what is breakfast like beyond standard American fare and huevos rancheros? Do they serve Mexican hot chocolate ( e. g. Abuelita or Ibarra)?

So surprised by their menu and protein options (always excited when I see Al pastor on the menu). They had a serve yourself salsa bar with 6 options, including pineapple pico! Food came quick and was tasty. Great spot for a quick lunch.

We decided on this place…read moreand found another restaurant we were eyeing right next to it, so we split and got something from both places. This place is a hidden gem. It was not very busy and we got our food almost as fast as you would at any fast food restaurant. I can't say it would be true if it were busy. The staff, one young lady was very friendly and very accommodating. She was great. You order at the counter and she brought out our food. Now to the food. It was delicious. I ended up getting the Grand Burrito (dry). There is a wet version too. It was BIG and heavy! It was filled with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, onions and some delicious grilled chicken. You can get the chicken cold, but not my thing. I couldn't finish it and I was hungry! Oh the chips were good too. No salsa but they were tasty by themselves. The place is clean and has plenty of seating for 2 to 8 people depending on how busy it is. There appears there might also be outdoor seating as well, would be nice if it wasn't winter. I would come again and maybe try the same again or try one of there many other delicious food. The price for my giant burrito was $12.

This little Mexican spot was a nice discovery. Located on Sprinkle Rd. a short distance south of…read morethe highway, it for all the world looks like it is housed in a former BP station. The form factor just has that apperance, and the fact that the trim color on the outside is green probably completes the illusion. However, in looking it up, it apparently actually used to house a series of pizza joints, most notably a Cottage Inn. The dining room is spacious and well-appointed offering a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I was there with a colleague for a late lunch before dropping him at his hotel before I headed home. Hence, because of the hour it was not busy. It's a bit of a cross between a Mexican full-service restaurant and a Tex-Mex fast food place. The format is walk-up-and-order but the menu is more like a full-service place. The service was friendly and very efficient. They offer some good choices on their menu. My colleague had Lengua Gorditas, which he liked quite a lot. I had one of my Mexican favorites, the Huevos con Chorizo. It was a very tasty selection accompanied by the usual refried beans, rice and tortillas (I chose the corn tortillas). The portion was quite good which worked well since I had eaten very little that day. Even at that, I was not able to finish the beans and rice. We both had bottled drinks. With food, drinks, tax and tip, our bill was $49. At $24.50 per person, it was a bit expensive for lunch, but the value was reasonable for what we got by today's standards. I go to Kalamazoo periodically for business. I'll keep this place in mind when I'm there. They apparently have another location near WMU, so that might be a target to try in the future.

I (and I imagine mamy others) had gotten a bogo coupon in my email, and lookimg at the fine print it did list about a dozen cities in which it was valid, none of which was Kalamazoo. This is just bad business for a corporation to have you register as a patron of a Kalamazoo business then send you coupons only valid in a city that's an hour away, so I strutted up to the counter to tell them so. Fortunately they'd figured this out by that point (and had ascertained that their system would allow them to honor the coupons), and they took the sign down right after we lined up, but I imagine some earlier visitors had been pretty vexed (I also saw them bring a cash refund to a couple guests in the dining room who had tried to use the coupon earlier). Also, can we get an alternative protein up in here or at least a much lower price for the veggie burrito? If they're going to charge only 60 cents less for the veggie option they should have more veggies available.
