Very friendly, welcoming staff/owners. The menu includes traditional "American" breakfasts--pancakes, crepes, etc--and a variety of Mexican breakfast options, making it a great place to bring a group with diverse tastes. Prices were fair. We were considering the goat meat and were offered a generous enough sample for the 4 of us to try. The restaurant was decorated colorfully which made our birthday celebration special. We all chose the uniquely Mexican breakfasts. The food was good though I was disappointed by the canned (rather than fresh) mushrooms in my quesadilla. I had the impression that, had I asked, the staff would've gone out to find fresh and cook them for me. Just guessing.... What a super cute and delicious spot!! We stumbled upon Dani's Kitchen while looking for some brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I had not noticed Dani's before so I'm so glad Yelp helped us out!! We wouldn't have thought to stop here but WHAT A GEM! Mexican for breakfast??? Yes please!! Dani's has many traditional breakfast options like pancakes/waffles, egg, breakfast meat combos, etc... but then they have a huge assortment of Mexican inspired dishes! Some that aren't breakfasty at all, others with eggs that are! The options are plentiful! We will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!! On this visit we had the "chorizo and egg" dish that comes with potatoes and refried beans. Also the "Huevos rancheros" which was crispy tostadas with eggs (runny yolk for the win!) topped with ranchero sauce, crumbly queso fresco cheese, with a side potatoes and refried beans, also 3 delicious, homemade corn tortillas! We also ordered the breakfast burrito combo, choosing egg and chorizo for the filling - this dish came with chips and queso. Everything was so good, to the very last bite!! A couple of notes: EVERYTHING had exceptional flavor and was super fresh - but the extra items were the corn tortillas and refried beans. I do not normally order corn tortillas but these were SO VERY GOOD! Most definitely homemade and it shows!! They had a thicker texture and held together really well! The beans also tasted very authentic and exceptionally delicious, even at breakfast!! The service was top notch! We walked in minutes before 2 because Yelped noted the closing time as 3pm. The door said they closed at 2 but they welcomed us in anyway saying they wanted to take care of us! So sweet!! Our waitress was so kind and helpful the entire meal, very attentive! Greeted sweetly, then seated, immediately got a beverage and the menus. We placed our order and it was amazing.. We are ordered breakfast and it was superb.. the fresh fruit they put on pancakes bagels whatever is so good. Their blueberry syrup has blueberries in it and it is really tasty. I'm in EMS and was in between calls when I stopped at this place, which I've never been to before (I'm stationed out of Grand Rapids). Asked how long it would take if I place a to go order. The very kind gentleman said five minutes, then threw together a veggie breakfast burrito for me (I'm a vegetarian) in literally five minutes... and it was *delicious* I should have taken a photo but I ate it too fast lol. Their burritos and their biscuits and gravy are incredible. My girl & I met my sister & her husband at Dani's for brunch on a Saturday. Since it was the day before Mother's Day, the place was packed, but our server told us weekends were usually that busy. My girl & I each had vegetarian omelets, accompanied by hash browns & raisin toast. My sister had the stuffed French Toast, and her husband ordered al a carte with double order of eggs & sausage links (he must avoid carbs, evidently). My sister and I each had coffee, and my sister's husband had unsweetened ice tea. My girl & I thought the flavor of omelets was bland & unseasoned. The raisin toast was unbuttered and there were no butter packets on the table. But there was a selection of those institutional Smucker's Jelly packets on the table. My sister & I agreed the coffee was pretty low end in taste, worse than most diner coffee. She thought her stuffed French Toast was exceedingly, sickeningly sweet, even though she used no maple syrup. Her husband scarfed up his eggs and sausages and said it was diner typical fare. Service was barely adequate. For the number of diners present today, the restaurant seemed to not have enough servers to cover. My sister's husband went up to the register to pay, and the same young man who had accepted his cash several minutes later approached our table, asking if we were ready to pay. (So somebody was not paying attention.) Decent location next to Sweetwater's, plenty of parking available. Not hugely impressed. read more

Upon arrival: this establishment has been several Mexican food places in the past so we weren't sure what to expect when we walked in. They've gone to great lengths to give it a new look (breakfast place plus Mexican food place) and it looks really great! Our server was very sweet and accommodating. The food was really nice, too! I ordered the crepes and subbed my bacon for their chicken sausage, which was excellent. Husband ordered their barbacoa breakfast plate, which he enjoyed. The experience was unpleasant, ordered Steak Medium photo below for reference. Attempted to give it a try and the steak was rather atrocious not only was it tasteless, it was over cooked as well. Informed the waiter the steak is not how I ordered it, she expressed her dissension of how the steak was cooked medium after briefly taking a glance at it, acknowledged it and proceeded to walk away. Noticeably did NOT eat my steak, to my horror cost was $18.99 plus trying to charge $5 for a cup of fruit and then attempted to charge me for pico and it did not even come with it, was a bit much in my opinion. Overall experience and ambiance of Restaurant was appealing due to other reviews however appearances can often be deceptive. If I could rate it Zero Stars I would. Do Not Recommend. read more

Best Mexican food I've had in Kalamazoo. It's a casual spot where you can bring the whole family. The menu is expansive and there's definitely something for everyone. I decided to try this restaurant with my parents on Saturday for a late breakfast. Each of us ordered the Classic Plate #2 which came with 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon, 2 ham, 2 pancakes, hash browns and toast for $11.99. We thought that was a lot of food for the price we paid and we really enjoyed it. The service was good as well and our server kept our coffees refilled. Although it is not a large restaurant, I thought it seated people comfortably. My only issue, and the reason I deducted 2 stars, is because it wasn't until we got the bill that we learned they charge a fee for using a credit card. Our server told us the fee would be removed if we paid with a debit card instead of a credit card. Although I knew that was probably not a true statement, I paid with my debit card. As I expected, the full amount was deducted from my checking account. I will probably go again, with cash, but hidden credit card up-charge fees are a big pet peeve for me. read more

I was so excited to see Chilaquiles on the menu, It is my favorite Mexican breakfast dish. This however, was cold soggy tortillas on a plate, I told the server they were cold, they took them back, it sounded like they just threw them on the grill, because now the sauce was burnt, and they just dumped more sauce on it so it was inedible.
