The employee helping us asked if we could pay with cash and reassured us that the picking the cake up at a later time, about 3 hours (2pm-5pm) later would not be a problem. When we arrived at 5pm to pick up the cake they told us that they sold my birthday cake to another customer. The next day an employee contacted my family because they made a 1 star review to tell us that we had the story all wrong and called us a liar. Needless to say, this bakery is UNPROFESSIONAL and I would not give them your business. You're way better off purchasing baked goods from your local grocery store bakery, Susie Cakes, or my personal favorite who never disappoints, Nothing Bundt Cakes. It's not worth trying to support local business when you're treated so poorly, without empathy and blatant disregard for the special occasions these cakes are used to celebrate. read more

This review is not about there food but moral philosophy. The manager/possible owner Iris recently sent a friend of mine a message on social media. Iris used her work social media account. Iris attacked my friend for being a post abortive mother. She told my friend that abortion was killing a life and that my friend would burn in hell. Regardless, of anyone's personal view on abortion. Iris couldn't show her forgiveness or love; she showed hatred. Perhaps, the reviews of poor customer service and rude employees is a reflection of the management. Please think twice about using this establishment. There are several bakery's in the area. Please don't support a business that is promoting hatred. read more

Well what can I say about this place. I eat tons of cake lol, but never have I eaten cake from a bakery that was so awesome, until I found Candelarias Bakery . From service with a smile to the selection and options you have it's completely mind blowing. if you've never eaten a cake from Candelarias Bakery, you really have no idea what you're missing. I can't keep count of cakes that I've ordered for birthdays, baby showers, mothers day cakes, and baptisms, and to date I have never been unsatisfied. I ordered a cake with Ana wasn't the color I asked for very dry no taste it's like I took a bite out of a cardboard box seriously Also the cake was suppose to be strawberry but she made it chocolate and said oh well this is what I have either you take it or leave it I stopped doing business with Ana and start talking to Iris ever since I switched over I've never had an issue again also her daughters Kaitlyn and Val are so nice and have always made my cakes right without a fail I really suggest you guys go with Iris she's the best ever since I took my business with Iris instead of Ana ive haven't had any issues best baker in mesquite is Iris hands down read more

I've been ordering cakes from this bakery for the past 8 years, and they have never once disappointed me. The cakes are always delicious, JUICY, fluffy, and beautifully handcrafted. Fuck them. I order a day ahead. I came 1hour late and had to wait extra 15 mins. I order a marble with strawberries filling cake, they gave me a marble with pineapple cake. This morning I call them for a credit back for the wrong cake. Asshole bitch just tell me no refund and no comments. Hung up 3 times. I recommend not to order their cakes. Very bad service. Wow. Just wow. I completely love how the 3 generations of family is involved into the process of baking and selling the cakes. You should definitely give his a try because there cakes are so flavorful and creative. My personal favorite is the 3 leches.
