They had a special for buy one get one free which was perfect cause I wanted lemon pepper wings because I thought it would be a dry rub but instead it was a sauce so I didn't really care for them. I looked to be able to buy a side of ranch and I couldn't see it so I requested it and that wasn't in the bag. I also got the hot wings as the other flavor and they were just your topical buffalo wings nothing special or different but still tasted good. It was ok you got about 16 wings for $17 so not bad just wish it was a dry rub. I should of ordered some sides to try out. Thank you for the response I guess I did miss that. I'll will stop by and try something again. And some sides to do a more thorough review. Thank you for caring about your product that you send out! So for even that I'll change the stars

That's different! Chicken is Halal. I ordered the 4 piece Krispy Krunchy combo that comes with 1 side and a Honey Biscuit. I didn't try the honey biscuit, which looked like a mini muffin top. By 7 PM on a Thursday, two sides had sadly run out: 1) Mashed Potatoes & Gravy and 2) Red Beans & Rice. The remaining choices were Mac N Cheese, French Fries, and Jambalaya. Mac and Cheese was unimpressive. Strange color and coagulating cheese, so it looked unappetizing. Neither hot nor cold. It probably had been sitting in the food warmer too long. Edible, but not worth repeating. Maybe skip the sides? Service: Fast because not many were there. Fried chicken was already made inside glass cases behind the counter. Ambiance: None? No tables. No dine-in. No outdoor dining. You're inside Circle D Food Store, a gas station convenience store and smoke shop on a frontage road by Interstate 80. There are lots of bongs for sale! I guess fried chicken is good when you have the munchies. Just stick with the fried chicken pieces to be delighted. I plan to try another Krispy Krunchy Chicken location. Thanks to the Foodies of Rocklin/Roseville Facebook group and Yelp reviews for other Krispy Krunchy locations for their recommendations.

So I got to my car and did the math and I went back in to ask for a refund. Guy hands me a 5 and says sorry that he double charged me for the soda. But that's not true because the total would've been over 18. I asked a few times for a refund but the guy didn't speak English good and I did want the chicken. The 5 made it alright enough for me to keep my food. Chicken is mid anyways, KKC usually is good but this location was just alright. I wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt but it doesn't check out that he double charged me. It would've been more. Really disappointing experience.

I hadn't been since last summer and was happy to return. Parking can be a bit hectic, but once you're inside, the atmosphere makes up for it. It's a family-owned spot, and you can feel it right away -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and takes the time to check in on you. We came for breakfast, but they also offer lunch and barbecue options, so there's plenty to choose from depending on when you go. They've also expanded and now have a location in Elk Grove. I ordered the French toast plate, which came with thick-cut slices of bread, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was soft on the inside with a nice golden finish, full of flavor without being overly sweet. The eggs were well seasoned, and the bacon was cooked just right. BB ordered the cheeseburger with fries and a side of grits. The burger was juicy with grilled onions and melted cheese, and the fries had that crispy, beer-battered texture. Everything came out hot and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for comfort food with genuinely friendly service. Definitely planning to come back -- especially for the biscuits and gravy next time.

First of all I love to support black business ! And a black woman / mother at that ! Pick up…read morereview let's get into it . She is located inside the new arcade market . You can sit counter side and eat or take to go . First impression, I see the wall and she has serviced alot of people well known ! I was impressed . Then I actually met her . Her vibe and energy was so sweet and chill . I enjoyed talking to her . And you can tell she really cares about her customers . That particular day she was giving out a free sample of something her son made . Yes ! She also has her two sons working with her such a beautiful thing . She offers a variety of soul food and seafood options as well as burgers and more ! The first time I had some of her food my man brought home shrimp and grits and they were good but this day we walked in ! I told her about trying her grits from home and I wanted them again . She asked do you want regular or gumbo ? I said surprise me ! Ofcourse she gave me the gumbo grits and let me tell you ! Phenomenal! Every time I took a bite I danced in my seat I kid you not ! The rou was just right , it had shrimp sausage and crab meat ! The shrimp were plump not over cooked ! And a nice fulfilling portion ! I also got the fried catfish with fries and a side of bacon . Fried just right and again seasoned well not salty at all . Nice thick pieces of fish . The Oreo cheesecake was amazing ! Made from scratch ! Also a lady had came in after me she asked what she should get , I told her about the sample I tried of the loaded chicken fries and she said yup I'm getting that ( pictured in my photos ) everything comes out hot !!! Soo appreciated because we know a lot of places have stuff sitting under a heat lamp or warm up something premade . Not with her . Everything hot ! It's just her and her sons . It's a small kitchen so expect a wait but like I always say I don't mind waiting because I know I'm getting fresh hot food cooked with love and that's exactly what she does . I'm definitely coming back to try more items as should you ! I know people including myself can be picky when it comes to soul food because it's really based on who made the soul food in your family and your preference . As being one of those people I was highly pleased and impressed with everything I ate ! She's also under bust down bbq on Yelp as well . Check her out if you want to try some food from the soul fareal !

I got a Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was fire ‍ the prices are decent too! I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

We learned on our very first visit how good the gumbo is and it's become a must ever since. The people who work here are friendly and you can tell they have a lot of regulars who stop in for food. There's a gravel lot right next to the building and you can take your food to go or enjoy it there. Our food took about 15-20 minutes and then we took it home to enjoy. The portions are definitely fair for the price. They also pack everything well for the ride home. The gumbo is our favorite, it's flavorful and packed with protein like their sausage, chicken, and shrimp and has just a hint of spice. We tried their riblets for the first time and it was a generous portion and we really enjoyed the bbq sauce they used. The mac and cheese is good, but I like mine creamier. It does have a little spice which was nice. The dressing was packed with flavor and we were excited they offered this side because you don't see it everywhere. Their hot water cornbread is definitely something they're known for and is really good on its own or dipped into the gumbo. The Palmer here tastes like Brisk raspberry tea mixed with lemonade, and we really enjoy this twist on it. Overall this spot is a local gem and we love visiting.

One…read morecustomer was sitting at a table waiting for her order. It's a small, very interesting place! (I found this restaurant by accident on Google.) I decided to stand there and review the very clear appetizing menu, taking a moment to soak in this unusual eating spot. I enjoyed the uniqueness and creativity of the layout--you have to be here to understand it. Anyway, as I was standing there, I heard a very pleasant voice ask, "May I help you?" I reached up and turned up my "pretend" hearing aid to make sure I heard that voice coming from a professional Young Queen. It made me forget I was at a soul food establishment! Usually, I am greeted with rolling eyes, laziness, and--most of all--attitude. (See one of my old podcasts link below regarding my opinion on soul food restaurants on iHeartRadio): https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-david-mack-show-105280474/episode/lena-s-soul-food-in-oakland-ca-119449772/?cmp=android_share&sc=android_social_share&pr=false Back to my review: Her name is Victoria... like the Queen! I told Victoria I was looking at the menu, which has a very nice variety of soul food selections. Victoria asked me if I would like to sample the gumbo. Sure! Victoria came back with a small, teasing sample, and after tasting it, I told her, "SOLD!" Just from the taste of that gumbo, I knew my Mother's Spirit was back there doing the cooking. It was a very cold day, and I would have eaten there, but because of the layout, I ordered the family size to-go. The gumbo also comes with hot water cornbread. Victoria took my order, my payment, and advised me it would be ready in five minutes. I waited in my car. I came back in four minutes, and my order was already bagged and ready for pickup. I "suffered" during the hour-long drive home, smelling the aroma of that meal the whole way! Finally home, I opened the secure bag, filled to the top container, and took out the prize. The food presentation was excellent! I put the gumbo in a bowl, and it was still very hot. I then proceeded to taste my meal: Rice: Nice and fluffy! Chicken: Flavored perfectly. Soup Juice: Perfect. Prawns: Excellent. Sausage: Plump and sliced perfectly. All many other ingredients: Very tasty with a hint of spice. Note: There were no crab legs to make a mess (which I did NOT miss) and no slimy okra (which was great)! The sweet hot water cornbread was very buttery and looked like a thick pancake. I put mine in the toaster oven to warm it up and get it a little crisp. It was amazing! That gumbo not only warmed me up, but it also put me to sleep like a big baby! If this restaurant continues with the trajectory of this review (professional attitude, unique layout, and great menu items), they will be the "go-to" soul food spot on the 80! I wouldn't change a thing! I will return because I want to report on another food item I had my eye on before the gumbo sample! Go check out this spot and see the Young Queen Victoria! Make sure you tip her for great service (No Tax On Tips), just like I did! David Mack (Reviewer-in-Chief)
