Trompo loaded up with al pastor.

This great little taco pop up is the place to go for late night tacos in the Sacramento area. Super nice people, really good food.

Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, hot, and made to order. The folks here are super friendly and you can tell they really care about getting your food just right. It's not some fancy sit-down place, but the food is top-notch. You can grab it to go or chill outside while you eat. Either way, you're in for something really good.

OKAY WOW! These are the BEST tacos ever. The homemade tortillas are already amazing and then topped with flavorful al pastor with salsa is literal perfection. They pack it up all nice, too. I just want to sit there and not count how many I could eat. $3 each and they accept zelle. Whoever is cooking all that food is a local hero.

Excellent street taco stand. Been living in Vermont for the last 10 years and missing the great street tacos of East LA so here in Sacramento this place was a great find. I ordered the Cabeza, linguica and carne asada tacos which are the small hand made tortillas, hand made there using a pasta rolling machine instead of a customary tortilla oress and all were outstanding. All the buckets of condiments were there... cilantro/onion, limes, salsas, spicy pickled veggies, grilled onions, bell peppers and Serrano chiles, fresh, sliced crunchy cucumbers... muy delicioso! As Arnold would say... I'll be back!

This place was great, and a ton of people came through while we were eating there. With a number of options on the menu, there's something for everyone. The smell was intoxicating while we were there, and it really added to the experience. It made my mouth and stomach eager to welcome the food that was being prepared for us. They asked our preference on how to make the tacos: with or without onion and cilantro, which is a nice touch. Amounts are really subjective and up to personal preference, so it was nice it allowed flexibility for all individuals. The tacos were great, and I can't complain about any of them. The seasoning was solid on the particular meats I chose. The al pastor was tantalizingly rotating on the trompo, and we watched as the glistening meat was cut specifically for our order. Knowing it's that fresh off the spit is amazing. We also got a papa, and that was delicious. It came with a number of tortillas, so it's incredibly filling due to it being a large amount of food. The setup was well lit and even had a place to sit and eat, if that's what you prefer. They also had a good amount of salsas y más on anothrt table. They had some salsas in a squeeze bottle, which I personally like as an addition. It makes it easy to add a particular amount or to fill up the little cups cleaner. With a parking lot to themselves, it was easy to be there. I'll definitely be back.

I don't say this lightly but this is probably the best burrito in Sacramento. Tacos were elite-we tried the Al pastor, the carne Asasa and the chorizo tacos-truly next level. Burrito I tried was an Al Pastor burrito-it was so heavy and yummy, truly loved it!! This place is a pop up stand that is here Tuesday thru Sunday from 530p till about 1130p. Their condiment bar is self serve and it's elite level stuff to add to your food items. They offer 3 different salsa and they are all pretty good, but the orange sauce, which I think is Chile de Arbol based, stood out,it's so tasty, highly recommend it. Tacos range from $2.50-$3.00 each and the burritos run $10 each-cash only establishment

Food was so damn delicious. I highly recommend this to everyone. Great service too and the toppings bar is awesome. Love this place!

We're not from Sac, but decided to try this place on our way south. Went around 10:30pm on a chilly Saturday night, No line. Ordered carne asada tacos, pastor tacos, a carne asada burrito and a horchata. Order was ready super quick. I like how the cheese was melted onto the quesadilla for the burrito. Great portions! I don't normally go for the Pastor meat, but this place makes it tasty. Carne asada and horchata were yummy too. I'd come again if I was in the area. The place where they're stationed at is next to a small building and is hard to miss because of their lights around the canopy, but the parking lot is dim lit. Cash only and open until midnight. Yelp didn't have their actual address. I had to go on their instagram for it. 3501 Watt Ave, Sacramento, CA 95821

Taco road trip! Drove over Saturday and got there at 5pm before a big line started. We got some of everything almost. Tacos, quesadilla, papas rellenas, and vampiros. The chorizo and al pastor meats were our favorite meats. They do not skimp on the meat. It was falling off of and out of everything we ate. Not a bad thing at all. I'd never had a vampiros. It was kind of like a tostada sandwich. Two crispy corn tortillas with meat and cheese in between. Liked it very much. The tortas ordered before us looked really good. Looking forward to going back and trying them.

Came here on a Friday night and it was super busy and the line was never ending! Waited about 30-35 mins for our taco order and it's cash only! The al pastor was cooking on a wheel and was cut fresh whenever ordered. The tacos were pretty decently priced and there's a self serve section for the condiments and salsa. Felt like the meat needed to be seasoned a tad more but was still great!

Street tacos to perfection!! Cash only. Sacramento keeps on surprising me with hidden gems, this place is absolutely delicious! Reminds me of tacos stands in Mexico and the flavor is just as good. They have tortas, burritos, and other items- I ordered asada and Al pastor tacos, topped with their salsa, they were perfect! Horchata and agua de piña were available. One table to sit, but tbh you can just stand and eat your tacos. Service is fast! Location is an outdoor stand in the corner of Whitney and Watt. I recommend this place as the place to be for street tacos! Don't forget, cash only

I was missing the zucchini and guacamole; I think that would have added to the overall flavor. The corn tortillas were stale, so that was yuck. I have read that they are homemade (?) If they were homemade, ours were made the day before. They were definitely not fresh. I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. From what I could see, the restaurant looked really inviting and I appreciated that they have a dog friendly patio. I always have my pup with me and that is the main reason we chose this location. I liked the style and design of the interior of the restaurant and overall it had a very nice vibrant feel. The staff was also warm and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag. The Torta Gorda was the biggest disappointment. The meat was very bland and seemed barely seasoned while the bread had become soggy by the time we got it home. There just wasn't much to it. The mole also missed the mark for me. The sauce lacked the rich complex flavors I expect from a good mole and the chicken was noticeably dry. The rice, beans and esquites were ok. The nachos on the other hand were quite good. They were flavorful and satisfying and although I thought they were a little heavy-handed with the radishes, I mostly enjoyed the flavors. For for three people the bill came to around $100 after tip which felt a bit steep, especially considering the overall quality of the meal. While this visit didn't live up to my expectations, I'm willing to give Polanco Cantina another shot and probably dine in next time. I have a much better idea now of which dishes to steer clear of and the restaurant itself seemed promising so I'm hoping the experience is improved when the food is enjoyed fresh from the kitchen.
