    Amazing breakfast
    Ian S.

It was so amazing to return to Candleberry and be blown away a second time. Marco and Angelo are both amazing innkeepers and gentleman. The property is absolutely immaculate and everything is so well kept. Our room was made daily. Each day the breakfast were as high end and as a 5 star luxury resort. We can't leave out saying thank you to Stephanie. She is an absolute angel and a ball of happy energy. We already booked next year to return and are counting the days. There is nothing left to desire or ask for when you stay here. It is a true visit with historic luxury.

We originally chose this venue based on its location and charm. The Innkeepers, Marco and Angelo, have created the most beautiful bed and breakfast experience. Their warmth and hospitality combined with beautifully decorated rooms, main house, and delicious menus far exceeded our expectations. The main house is filled with beautiful art and decor that perfectly matches the ambiance of the area and is complete with personalized touches that make the guests feel right at home.

Do you like having some of the friendliest Innkeepers, delicious breakfast (complementary with your reservation), proximity to the beach (12 minute walk), beach towels and beach chairs, free pastries provided during the afternoon, showering yourself in Malin+Goetz bath products, all while staying in a historical yet updated inn? If the answer is YES then I would highly recommend choosing the Candleberry Inn. Marco and Angelo were very accommodating to say the least. We started our mornings with a wonderful complementary multi-course breakfast that often exceeded our expectations (and more often than not, better than food that we've had on the rest of the Cape). In the afternoons we enjoyed free pastries also made by Angelo. The best part about this trip was that this high level of service was still made possible during COVID-19. Candleberry Inn has done the necessary precautions to make sure that we felt safe during COVID-19, such as: requiring masks outside of the room, allowing dining to be socially distant from other guests, and providing individually wrapped bags of ice and water bottles. We would definitely return again.

It was so comforting knowing that our rooms were just in perfect shape every day. Just to wake up to a quiet and homey atmosphere was a dream! The breakfasts were gourmet and themed each morning served with professional servers. The living room and convenience of a refrigerator, Nespresso coffee, tea, ice water, & lots of books and games, gives you a sense of home. There is always room for all sorts of Ice Cream and Ices on back porch refrigerator... anytime you want! Then, mid-afternoon there is a box or bag of cookies, cakes or goodies. Get ready to go to the beaches on Cape Cod! The Inn has chairs, umbrellas and an outdoor shower when you return from the beach at the Inn. This is the 3rd time and I will return for another vacation. Boy, it was better than the year before! We love you Angelo and Marco! Thank you for your continued hospitality!

Stayed August 30th thru September 5th, 2020. We knew we were in for an amazing stay, despite Covid-19, from the moment we received an email to download the app that gave us all the info we needed... Procedures put in place to assure everyone's safety, info about the area, and almost everything you could possibly want to know was in the app. We arrived just about check-in time and Marco, one of the owners, greeted us warmly, gave us the tour of the property & the amenities, and handed us our keys... super easy - super smooth check-in. The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained... plenty of places to just sit and relax (while practicing social-distancing, of course), crack open the delicious bottle of wine we were provided by our hosts, or eat our always delicious daily afternoon "sweet treats". Daily breakfast was amazing... a different fresh fruit course every morning followed by a main course alternating between sweet and savory (poached eggs, pancakes, breakfast burrito, french toast, etc). The daily breakfast offerings were so well planned out, we didn't deviate off the menu once except one of us wanted scrambled eggs instead of poached... a request met with a "SURE!... whatever you want" response from Marco who also oversees breakfast service while his partner Angelo is in the kitchen churning out recipes handed down from his mom. We always left the table full and satisfied. Accommodations are amazingly clean and equally comfortable. The king-sized bed put us to sleep in short order, the towels are thick and soft, and the spa robes were a welcome surprise. Because of the pandemic, towel change service is by "request" only (basically you throw the towels you'd like changed into a large laundry bag and leave it inside the room next to the door). The inn is, in my opinion, one of the best areas on the Cape... centrally located to Cape Cod's best things to see & do. Terrific restaurants, a liquor store/deli, general store, ice-cream shop are all within walking distance. TIP: Stick with Angelo & Marco's local restaurant recommendations... we deviated once, and big surprise... we were not happy. Truro is an easy 30 minute drive, Provincetown 40 minutes, and Hyannis to catch the ferries to Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket about 20. A 2 minute car ride or 15 minute walk gets you to Breakwater Beach on Cape Cod Bay. Marco and Angelo provided beach chairs & beach towels so that was thankfully, a couple more things we didn't have to pack. We didn't bring or rent bicycles, but the Cape Cod Rail Trail and a bike rental shop are right in their neck of the woods too. We'll definitely be back to the Candleberry Inn. All the five-star reviews are well-earned. You won't be disappointed.

Having cancelled our tour of the northern lakes of Italy due to Covid19, my wife suggested a Cape Cod vacation combined with a road trip up to the Cape. Armed with that request, I began searching for an Inn that offered an upscale, yet informal, comfortable atmosphere in and around the Brewster, Mass area. Frankly, it did not take long to begin focusing on The Candleberry Inn, 1882 Main St, Brewster, Mass. After digesting the many photos of the Inn's offerings, I knew we would be in for a treat if we booked within the Carriage House adjacent to the main building. We did, in fact, get that booking much to my liking! This particular room (No. 1) is situated directly at the front of the Carriage House, grade level with no steps or stairs needed to enter. There are other rooms within the Carriage House and main building as well. Following a lovely drive from our home in northern NJ, we easily found the Inn (with the aid of GPS) and, within several hours, turned into their manicured hedge-lined drive and parked within the generous parking area only several yards from the Guest Entrance. Our initial impressions included admiring the lush gardens and blooms that surrounded the main building and grounds. We arrived somewhat later than planned and were greeted, however, by one of the Owners, Marco who warmly welcomed us to the Inn providing an introduction. At this time, we sensed that we were in for a treat for selecting The Candleberry Inn for our stay at the Cape! After settling in, we explored our room and were delighted to find the private patio beyond the double French doors off of the bedroom. The private bath was found to be extremely generous in size and very well equipped with many spare, thick thirsty towels of all sizes including a good selection of bath and shower care products. We believe the bed in our room was a California King size and the room was sized accordingly. At breakfast time, we then experienced the culinary skills of Marco's partner and co-owner, Angelo, who prepared sumptuous 3 course dishes normally found in a very upscale restaurant. Comfortable tables and chairs were set out on the outdoor patio for breakfast. Again, the table settings reflected that of a grand estate from yesteryear, a real treat! Juices of several varieties were offered as well as an endless pot of coffee. It must be pointed out that a different hot breakfast fare was presented to us every morning, all quite delicious! Our hosts did not hesitate to take the time to chat with us each morning, a nice touch indeed. Every evening, Angelo prepares a surprise bakery treat, packaged within a neat "gift" bag with the guests names shown on the bag. We simply picked up our bag and enjoyed Angelo's creation each evening with a beverage. We brought some home as we had accumulated one or two bags during the week. Although many brochures were available for touring, Marco provided us with several interesting suggestions for getting out and about with the car. We found a special beach nearby, several restaurants just down the road and, one or two very high-end places in close-by towns. Each of those car rides brought us through the classic New England countryside passing General Stores and specialty shops, cruising the back roads of Brewster which were curved and winding as we explored the area from one end of the Cape to the other with beautiful sunny weather following us each day. Returning to the Inn each evening, we found the Carriage House to be peaceful and serene. We enjoyed the lush greenery just beyond the private patio and watched as playful chipmunks scurried in and about the dense vegetation beyond. Many hummingbird feeding stations were seen in and around the Inn as the height of colorful flowering stems attracted their amazing ability to stay aloft in one spot. We enjoyed each and every day and evening while being guests at The Candleberry Inn. Our hosts, Marco and Angelo, including their wonderful breakfast staff, created a seamless atmosphere which made us feel welcomed and comfortable during our entire stay. The Candleberry Inn is certainly recommended as a Go-To destination should your travels bring you to Brewster Mass or to the surrounding area!

Outstanding Inn! Marco and Angelo have perfected the bed-and-breakfast experience. We felt like royalty at Candleberry for our 25th anniversary. The room was gorgeous and peaceful. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. You will not get a better breakfast than at Candleberry. I am gluten-free, and they accommodated me in the most delicious way! Even the afternoon treats were labeled "gluten free" to put me at ease. Thank you Marco, Angelo, and Stephanie! This was an anniversary to remember. We will return!

The Innkeepers truly have put thought into every tiny detail and comfortable amenity to make your stay here feel like home from the chilled filtered water placed in your room's refrigerator every day to the home-baked treats every afternoon. The two-course breakfast each morning was nothing short of perfection. (Well done, Angelo, you successfully sold my husband on poached eggs, and that was not an easy task.) The inn's grounds are lush and green, and we enjoyed a couple of afternoons enjoying wine (from the Truro winery) by the outdoor fire. Marco, you were so friendly and welcoming, taking care to show us every amenity, advise us on sites around the Cape, and greeting us every morning for breakfast. You are a delight. You and Angelo have undoubtedly created an inn that allowed my husband and I to just be together with no kids and no worries. You really have thought of everything. Thank you (and your friendly staff!) for your gracious hospitality and for far exceeding our expectations.

My boyfriend and I did a weekend getaway to the Cape and stayed at this lovely B&B and we had the BEST time! The inn itself is so cute, well-kept, and very homey. The grounds are gorgeous and our stay in the Highlands room was exactly what we wanted. Everything was very clean, sanitized and expectations were clearly stated. The inn is also in a great location in Brewster and walking distance to the library and general store. We love the beaches in Brewster and all of our favorites were a short drive away. The innkeepers, Marco and Angelo, are very kind, caring, and professional hosts. They still made us feel welcome and were very personable even with all the extensive measures they have to take to take care of the safety of themselves and their guests. They also sent us a new app prior to our stay to help us read about different measures and accommodations we'd expect--this was a very comprehensible and succinct way to receive information ahead of time. Something that Marco and Angelo did that was above and beyond was send us a text around 10:30pm when they noticed a light in our car was left on. They saved us from a dead car battery in the morning which we thought was very considerate of them! The homemade breakfasts and afternoon sweets are delicious! Breakfast was on the garden patio and it's such a magical place to have breakfast in the morning. Even though the inn is on a main road on the Cape (route 6A) the garden patio provided enough coverage because of the luscious plants and flowers. (Would totally recommend drinking the Brewster Sunrise!) The afternoon snacks were delicious and we were excited everyday to see what yummy treats we'd get in the afternoon (they changed everyday). They also packaged these in their own individual containers and wrote any allergy information on these packages which I appreciated as I have a nut allergy. Although we didn't take advantage of this, there were beach chairs and towels we could use. Everything was clearly labeled what things were sanitized and where to put used items. This is all being said while in the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, but we STILL had an amazing time because of the thoughtfulness of Marco and Angelo. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this and will definitely be back in the future.

What can I say about the Candleberry Inn? WOW! FANTASTIC! WONDERFUL! Everything is perfect from the grounds, the room, the breakfast and our innkeepers Marco and Angelo. We stayed in the see breeze room in the carriage house. There is an outside deck on the back of this building that we were able to enjoy for several evenings while we were there. Our room was very comfortable and included a small refrigerator. Each room has its own bathroom, no shared bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There is a lovely patio in the back where you can have coffee and sit and watch the birds. There are several restaurants that are within walking distance along with a late night bar. It's also centrally located for leisurely drives to different towns on the Cape. If you want the beach, you can either walk or drive to it. I'm not going to tell you what was served for breakfast except you won't go away hungry. I'm also pretty sure that Angelo or Marco can get you anything you need. If you are looking for a home away from home, this is it. I always end my reviews with the question, "would I come back here?" Not only would I come back here- I don't want to leave.

Our babymoon here could not have been more perfect! My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in the Carriage House and had the absolute best time here. Not only was the room exceptionally clean and comfortable, with meticulous attention to detail in the daily housekeeping, but the food was outrageously good. With a gluten intolerance, my husband is always a bit underwhelmed and disappointed by the limited options he has, but Marco and Angelo were exceptionally accommodating and made him alternative treats and breakfast dishes that were above and beyond all expectations, even better than some dedicated gluten-free bakeries we've tried! The service, the food, the rooms, the ambiance... not a single detail was overlooked by these owners. It was so incredible that we already booked our next trip here and plan to make this an annual vacation. We can't possibly recommend this place highly enough!! Marco & Angelo, thank you, THANK YOU for giving us the absolute best experience we could have ever dreamed of. See you next year!

There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.
